Sorority Incorporated Founders Day just passed and you were 15 1908 you know for a me who in that video I was just doing I was answering some questions and this video is gonna be like an instant version but a more in-depth video of the do’s and don’ts of
What you should do before deciding to join a sorority and this is what basically I did and look at me now I’m in this position to give God this information I’m gonna try to keep your dork sweet and simple and straight to the point so I start with the do’s first
And then I’m gonna go to the don’ts if I pick it something I said at the end of the video so the first dude that you want to do is become active on campus make a name for yourself in a positive way and when I mean you become active on
Campus I mean get volved into organizations that can be becoming the president becoming a vice president treasurer secretary and you will want to do leadership roles because it’ll look better for you if you just a member that’s okay starting off but definitely try to work yourself up into
A leadership role and then another do is actually do research that was this ship in the first to doing research do research on the organization that you want to eventually become a part of no they know some background information know that basic information of that organization because you don’t want to
Just go and blindside it and don’t know anything about that organization that’s like a slap in the face to members of that organization so do your research another do is do have good grades because the better your grades are the higher your chances will be to become a
Part of that organization I mean of course you know they have minimum but it just looks better to have good grades because it just lets them know that oh she’s active on campus and she has good grades oh what that means she’s not she know
How to manage of times I say blase and yes have good grades another do is I would say do become acquainted with current members of that chapter and what I mean acquainted I’m I mean just know them and make sure they know you I don’t mean be over friendly
Or be a kiss-ass or suck up to them no I just mean be acquainted like be you know if they won’t bite you they play okay yeah I know they won’t said a lot but they’d be like okay I know she’s trying to become a part of our organization
Like they I know you so that’s I mean be acquainted with them another do is another do is attend as many as as many events as you can if you have to miss an event because of class because of some whatever just attend as much as possible because your
Face will become familiar it just shows that you actually wanted to become a part of their organization another do is community service so if your campus is having a volunteer outing or community service sign up for it go to it you know because you’re going to need community
Service hours on your application that’s what we needed so definitely have community service hours I’m just gonna happen to the don’ts now don’t go around the whole campus letting everybody know that you try to be a part of so-and-so organization like you’re trying to join that organization know be discreet and
What I mean by be discreet is keep it to yourself people let people assume that you’re trying to do be a part of that organization just attend events do you just be discreet don’t tell the whole campus because that’s not a good look for you since
Like they were blacklist you like oh she over here talking yeah you know we’re not gonna um you know that could be a reason that you don’t get accepted so or chosen another don’t is don’t make a negative name for yourself on campus one dancer don’t as well if you know that
You want to be a part let me say for her I could say this I knew that I wanted to be a part of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated I would not attend another organizations rush that’s it don’t that’s a big big know if you attended one organizations rush do not attend
Not the organization’s rust because that just means that they were your second option because you didn’t get chosen from that organization and you’re definitely not gonna get chosen for the organization that you chose as your second option so that’s a big don’t no no no another don’t is don’t just assume
That you’re gonna get picked like that’s the worst that you can do is set yourself up for failure because I was on egg shows the entire time for the process of okay rush happen and then saying you know the interview all that stuff and I was on eggshells like I did
Not let up don’t just set yourself up and automatically you’re gonna get chosen because hey newsflash it’s the possibility that you want so um I think that’s all the do’s and don’ts that I have for you guys and I just want to let y’all know that there
Are gonna be a million girls there’s going to be trying to join the same organization that you’re gonna try to join so you want to make yourself stand out and the most in the best possible way ever positivity like have a good name for yourself be involved have
Leadership positions and just make it’s basically like you’re going on a job interview they’re gonna piss the best they’re gonna pick the best candidate the one that looks good on paper and off paper so you won’t want to have all your credentials all your ducks lined up in a
Row before you go in before they have rush or whatever or information or whatever they call it at your school so just make sure you have everything lined up that’s the best advice that I can give to you guys if you don’t get chosen it doesn’t mean it’s not for you it’s
