Hey YouTube welcome back to my channel today I am doing a sorority Q & A and how this came about is some people have been asking me some questions on my social medias I just feel like I would tackle certain questions that people were sending me and do it on a question
By question basis instead of answering all your questions at once so let’s jump right into it so this person who misses me say hi Chelsea I follow you on YouTube well thank you I had a question in reference to joining us Rory I’ve done my research inventive and I really
Like to sorority clinicians and ladies on my campus the question is once I’m already I see myself really being able to use my skills within a chapter on my campus the other sorority I can’t see where I will fit in they are really large any advice on how to decide things
Well let’s see and I responded to her but I’ll tell you guys what I sent hurt basically I think this is really great that you found two organizations that really fit with your mission you really want to align your values with the sorority that you think
Most fits your values you don’t want to join I wouldn’t recommend anyone joining a sorority where they know nothing about the organization and it’s different when you’re looking at NPHC versus MTC because NPCs authority they have rush week and MTC returnees and sororities and some multicultural Greek organizations they prefer people to do
Their research first and then pursue the organization versus attending a rush week and seeing all the sororities at one time and we really imp HT returning and sororities do that too with in orientation except it’s just of informal what is kind of fun because you have to wear quite business professional attire
But it’s informal innocence where you get to talk to all the organizations at one time but you’re not actively pursuing them yet you’re just learning about organizations rush week at the end of rush week they can be anywhere between one week or two weeks but at the
End of that week to efficiently get the organization to bid on you instead of you choosing the fraternity or sorority that you want they choose you versus you choosing them and you pursuing them so it’s kind of different I might go into detail about that later
But just to explain why in case you works a certain way that it works so my response to this person when she messaged me is that I think this is great that you found an organization or two organizations that really suit your values that’s really really important
You don’t want to ever lose jump into an organization and I would suggest for me personally I would suggest joining a sorority where you know that your skills can we use that way you’ll feel like you have something to offer that you’re not just a member and just I don’t want to
Say being a t-shirt where because it’s not your intentions but you’re you’re putting your skills to good use for the sorority and you know that it’s going to make a difference in your sorority after you joint and I think that’s really really good and I will also recommend doing like activities within that
Organization that will build up your resume for after you graduate because once you’re in a story you start participating in their committees and you’re on different committees committees work we are doing different committees within that chapter your skills community life and you can put those skills push your resume in the
Future to let your future boss know towards the future career that you want you can show that you utilize those skills within that organization so I would definitely recommend doing that I would also recommend joining a sorority where you think your skills will be needed is because you’ll know then that
You’re making a positive impact on the other on the organization that you join which is always a good thing so I would strongly recommend to you to join the sorority where you think that your skills will see the most needed because not only will that make the organization
More like it will bring out best characteristics from in the organization but it also makes you feel that you make the right decision in honey where you feel like your skills weekly in a good youth and you’ll think you’ll make a more positive impact and you’ll just have a stronger foundation
And a stronger level for that organization when you’re more involved in your more activity so that’s the advice about offered to anyone who is caught between two organizations what else could I say about that I think this is mostly in if you have any follow-up questions that question or to my comment
