Hey everyone so today we’re going to discuss the topic of rituals versus religion in Greek life and I think this is really really funny because prior to me joining Greek life I had no idea that people made this into such a big deal when you think about Greek life people
Usually think that they’re not religious at all like they worship gods versus us actually having some sort of root and religion let me just set the record straight we are not devil worshipers we are not God worshipers like Greek God worshipers there are some aspects to religion and
There are different aspects to the rituals that we partake in that don’t have anything to do with like worshiping another god I’m not gonna go into the details about our rituals I’m not gonna go into the details about religion however I just want to put it out there
That we are not devil worshipers and we’re not we don’t worship any other gods so I don’t know I don’t know I just thought it was weird so I was watching a video on YouTube and this person was like don’t don’t greet life because they they don’t believe in Jesus name believe
In Christ and they they worship the devil and they worship their gods dealing with whatever organization that they’re in that’s not true y’all we have our rituals when we’re doing intake we have our rituals in other aspects of our organizations as they pertain to our organizations but it doesn’t necessarily
Mean that we don’t believe in a higher being this is just a known fact that I’m stating all Greek organizations have Christian tenants in their organization we have our different rituals yes but all of our organizations have Christian foundations behind it I don’t know why people think that that’s not the case
Greek organizations themselves believe in fellowship and fellowshipping is a part of the Christian tinit so I don’t know why people think that I don’t know why they don’t understand that we also do social events which is also a part of fellowshipping which is a Christian tenant so there’s that and you do have
Green organizations that are organizations based on religion like they’re they categorize themselves based on their religion that they’re part of so you have Muslim fraternities and sororities you have Persian sororities and fraternities you have Christian fraternities and sororities you have Jewish fraternities and sororities so there are different types of
Organizations out there some of them are fully based on Christian beliefs and some of them use Christian beliefs as their foundation and then go from there so yeah those are my thoughts on religion versus ritual in Greek life if you guys have any other comments please
