Our organizations and that’s what it was called pledging so whenever people pledge they automatically assumed that they were going to get hazed and hazing have I guess an attachment and a relationship with pledging so it’s the term pledging that make people think hazing automatically because it’s a word
That brings back memories it brings back those times to certain people so we’re trying to move away from saying pledging so we can start this new era of being non hazing organizations so in order to do that the NPHC as a whole came up with the idea we’re not going to use pledging
Anymore we’re going to say intake process with the intake process that’s just the process that you go through to become a member just like what pledging was but in the intake process there should be no hazing involved no physical abuse no verbal abuse no abuse at all no
Violence no anything within the intake process the intake process this is educational sessions this is bonding building leaders building brothers both and sisters just the whole process is different these days the pledge processes have a negative connotation to it so we don’t need to be saying pledging anymore technically you could
Say pledging but it just bringing back bad memories to people you know pledging had a bunch of hazing within that process so the name switch to intake process to get away from that they get away from you know the negative connotations that people have against fraternities sororities Greek life in
General and maybe the verbage intake process will change the way people things imagine that your honor college campus right now you go to your parents and you say hey I’m thinking about joining this organization and I’m thinking about pledging when you ever you say pledging to a parent that’s
Automatic going loop backs and hazing and getting beat and all this stuff but if you say hey I’m thinking about joining this organization and I’m about to forego the intake process that sounds way better than pleasure it’s just the way it sounds it’s just a way that
Pledging presents it so that we’re not associating ourselves with any more the intake process is what I’ll be saying for now on and I encourage you all to say the intake process as well like I said in some of my videos I have been staying pledging constantly but it’s
