– If you Google the definition of “sisterhood,” it defines it as a relationship between sisters. It’s so much more than that. It really is an unbreakable bond. You’re constantly motivated, supported, encouraged, 100 percent, all the time. It’s really a beautiful thing.
– Brotherhood to me is the group of people that I met that will always be there, not only in my college experience, but in life, and the bond that we have formed together as a chapter.
– As soon as I walked into that room, I instantly clicked with all of them, and felt like I could fully be myself, which is something that really has helped me throughout my first year in college.
– Each semester, we plan a retreat in which we all meet up at one of the sisters’ houses, eat food, play games, and just spend the whole day together. Sisterhood is what we’re made of. We’re all sisters in every sense of the word.
– Joining Greek Life has opened up so many scholarship opportunities, from the scholarships that my fraternity personally awards, to the academic success that we expect, which helps me excel in all of my classes and support my brothers along the way.
– The sisters of AOπ have been the best support system throughout my college career academically. They’ve just been there to help me, and to be my study buddy. – One of our main focuses is grades, and that goes hand in hand with helping give myself time management for my classes and extracurricular activities.
One thing that’s nice too is we have some brothers that are in tutoring places, like the CSP or the Math Assistance Center, so we can always go to one of them to get some help for our classes. – While here in Greek Life, I’ve had a lot of leadership opportunities.
Greek Life has helped me be able to use the talents and abilities that I have to better myself and help lead the people in my fraternity and just in my campus experience in general. – Holding leadership positions in my chapter has helped me immensely with what I could bring
Into the real world. It’s helped me become confident in who I am and who I want to be. – Philanthropy and service is an important part of YSU’s Greek Life community. For example, my chapter Sigma Alpha Epsilon hosts the “Grilled Cheese with the SAEs” event every year at Federal Frenzy.
This past year we were able to raise almost four thousand dollars for Akron Children’s Hospital. This is a great way to bind us together as a brotherhood, and give back to our local community. – One of our events that we did was the Red Day event where we gave out
Feminine hygiene products to students on campus, and then after we gave those out, we donated the supplies that we had left to local shelters, just to help out and make an impact. – I’m so supported all the time by all my sisters in the grad chapter who are professional
Business women who just want to see me grow and support me. – I felt like I had not only found like friendship, but I found that strong bond, and just people that I consider family within my life. – I know for a fact I wouldn’t be the person i am today without not
Only the experiences that I’ve gained through it, but my sisters and how they pushed me just to truly be myself and really be confident in who I am. – I really wanted to be part of something that was larger than myself.
I’ve really connected with the brothers and made some great friendships and some great memories, and I’m very thankful to have joined the fraternity and and been a part of who we are.
