And i wish you happy easter and welcome to our today’s presentation which is not something very new thank you it’s not something new and i’m not coming with very new materials but i’m coming with something that we know something that we have talked of something that we live something that we share
And something that as franciscans we have interacted with time and again so i wish to welcome you that we may share together fraternity and social friendship best thing in mind in chapter 2 of fraternity that is a stranger on the road when we look at this document fraternity
It’s a document from our holy father which was out in october on 4th of october last year it is a document that talks about love and is talking about whatever human beings do and generally the holy father is talking about our lives as human beings our relations as human beings our manner
Of life as human beings and the way we move and act as human beings so when we look all of us are franciscans maybe when we look at the reality francis of assisi our father used this word fraternity in his admonitions to mean brotherhood that you are my brother
You are my sister and therefore together we live so that we can work for the common good which is taking care of each other and moving each other towards the right goal which is the goal to eternal life this encyclical generally is an encyclical of love that human beings can never live without
Love that human beings can never do away and say today we are living but we shall never mention disturb no love transcends each and every barrier of our humanity that if we live in love then we should be able to go an extra mile
To move to act and to adhere to each and everything that pertains love as a virtue and therefore our holy father refers to saint francis as a scent of fraternal love a scent of simplicity and a scent of joy we are franciscans and happy to follow francis
Do we reflect fraternal love do we reflect simplicity and we reflect joy towards each other our love for each other should create and recreate the modern world when we look at the world today we tend to say that the world is changing at a very terrific speed
That the world is moving in a speed that we also human beings should move so that we we are not left behind and we tend to say we are moving with the signs of time is it so and is that how we should live should we just follow the floor of current
Or it’s a time for us to put a pause and ask ourselves hello if life is moving and people are moving with the signs of time should we also do the same as religious this is just an overview of the whole encyclical letter that is fragelli tutti nevertheless the topic of today fraternity
And social friendship we want to focus greatly on chapter two of fraternity a stranger on their road a stranger on the road and it’s clearly speaking because the words themselves when you talk about stranger this is a person you do not know a person you have not encountered
A person that you have not met a person that you’ve not shared life with a person that you have not interacted with and therefore a stranger all of us move all of us walk around in the world and all of us are working on the roadside so therefore
A road is not something new for us but before we start focusing on chapter 2 of fraternity i wish us to look at this picture and ask ourselves human fraternity and social friendship that is article 57 of fraternity truthy one day after the creation of our first parents
God gave them a gift of children and these were cain and abel the two lived together very well and they shared life very well but it reached a moment when things will not move god asked them that they may come forth and offer some gifts from what he had given them
And we are all familiar with the story therefore i might not be able to repeat it so after they had given god their offerings cain was not happy why because god had accepted the brothers gift and god was happy with abel and not cain so what did cain do he went ahead
Hid himself and killed his brother then god was walking in the garden of eden and god asks cain cain where is your brother abel and cain blindly utters and tells god am i my brother’s keeper do i care i don’t care i don’t know where he is
Could be that’s not my concern could be it’s none of my business could be he’s not worthy could be i don’t need him this could be some of the possible reflections that we can get from these utterances from cain but god automatically knew what had happened
And he was only asking so that he could confirm is it true but cain goes on and says am i my brother’s keeper we live in communities we live in the society we live with people we work with people how many times have we acted like cain by saying
Am i my brother’s keeper where is your brother where is your sister where is your co-worker where is your friend where is that child that god has given you to take care of where is that pupil and a student and you tell god am i my brother’s keeper do i care
This is a reflection of the society that we are living in today this is a society that we have created today and we tend to be moving and we tend to be comfortable that this is the way we feel like and this is how life should move i myself alone personally individually
That’s what we tend to say that whatever comes around me i don’t care whatever people do whatever the other person is going through whatever is happening to the neighbors side though i don’t care this is our world of today and it’s not something to be proud
Of it’s not something to be happy of because our humanity is fading away day after day we were created to live in union but where is that union when we can say am i my brother’s keeper that means i only mind of myself what does it imply to be a brothers keeper
What does god wants me to do or why was god asking this question to cain at the end of the day because if i am my brother’s keeper or my sister’s keeper that means i am being responsible of the life the happenings and the deeds of my sister
Of my brother of my neighbor of a co-worker somewhere the holy father felt that the world was disintegrating and that essence of humanity was missing and that’s why he came up and felt no why can’t we talk of human fraternity that means being responsible being accountable
Can i be able to say this is what is happening this is so and so can i justify can i be able to reclaim and be able to tell the society yes i stand for this this is my sister this is my brother and this is what is happening
In his or her life we tend to be saying i don’t know and that is the basic answer that we tend to receive whenever we interact and meet people we are called to look for the common good being being a brothers keeper means looking for the common good
Of myself and the common good of you of the other one as my brother or as my sister i’m called to be caring and even show concern how many times have we passed by other suffering how many times have we left our own houses for those ones to stay in houses
Our own communities for those ones who stay in communities and our areas of work without knowing what is happening to the neighbor next door what is happening to my sister to my brother next door we tend to look at things as the order of the day
That is the way things should be and we are happy we are reminded that we should be caring and we should show at least an aspect of concern for the life of others being a brothers keeper implies denying ourselves some of our rights and some of our comfort zones at the expense of
The other person i like using the scenario of our own communities and our own areas or even our own families we live in our own areas yes whatever we have is our own yes whatever property that we have is our own years how do we utilize them how many times have we
Drawn plants and cups full of food yes there are people around us who can never dare to have a meal only for a single day how full are our closets how full are our wardrobes denying ourselves our rides and our comforts it’s not a lie that some of us possess
Property that it can even pass a year without you having taken maybe that particular cardigan maybe that particular type of shoe you’ve not put it on for a year there are some materials in the wardrobes that we’ve not used there are some things in our kitchens that we don’t use but we
Tend to look at them and feel happy i possess this this one is mine what about the other person we are called if we are our brother’s keeper we are called to be committed to each other if i’m committed to my brother or i’m committed to my sister
Then i’ll work in relation to how things should move if i’m committed to my sister then i’ll be able to stretch my hand and offer help where necessary our founder once said god helped god is still helping and god will always help that means god will keep on healthy
But this god will help through you and me this help god will help through you out stretching your hand through you walking towards that direction where you have to meet somebody and offer just a kind gesture of a greeting a kind guest of maybe something in form of material
Or maybe something in form of affection we are called to be in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world is full of tears at the moment as we speak because of kobe 19 pandemic all of us have been affected and some have been infected well not good
But are we in solidarity with whatever is happening in the world in solidarity with whatever is happening in our communities and whatever is happening in our families are we fighting for justice and peace and even speaking for the voiceless that is what it means being our brother’s keeper i can’t see somebody
Being oppressed somebody being done for an act that is not proper and i fold my hands and say that is his or her own business if i am my brother’s keeper then i should be the voice of the that brother who is voice voiceless then i should be the eye of that brother
Who cannot see then i should be able to hear for that brother or my sister who cannot hear not the literal hearing or the literal seeing but what can i do to ensure that he or she lives at peace in the society when we move on with the story of the
Stranger on the way or the stranger on the road that’s from article 63 to 71 the holy father says abandoned on their way left on the way we could say left to die we could say left by our own selves we could say thrown away we could say rejected
On the way all those are possible synonyms for this word a stranger on the road or abandoned on the way when we look at this picture sincerely it’s not a picture that we are it’s new no no no no it’s very uh an obvious and all the phenomena that
Has been painted on us each and every time we look at the good samaritan this is the story that is coming up clearly in chapter 2 and it closely takes quite a bigger portion of chapter 2 of fractality we tend to say this person was injured yes the person was bitten and left
Maybe the bandits might have thought that this person was going to die but what happens there those who pass by but among those who are passing by only a good samaritan comes forth ben’s law talks to this person offers help to this person makes this person to move from where he has been
Injured and takes this person to an inn at his own expense and jesus asks after narrating that so who is the good neighbor and possibly we will all say that samaritan who offered to take care of this man at his own expense there are many people in the story there is the in
Keeper there those one surpassed by a priest and a levite then there is this good samaritan they are the bandits and also this man who has been injured whom do i identify myself with it’s not a lie all of us carry a portion of each and every aspect of this
Particular phenomena or this particular story or parable we all of us have got a small aspect of each but it only triggers what do i do with that good samaritan within me what do i do with those who pass by i also pass by people who have been injured i pass by people
Who have been rejected the holy father reminds us of the reality that is happening in a very polite way because our humanity tends to be telling us that we are comfortable at the situations of life as they happen the holy father tends to feel that no as we move
On with life things are the same but he is reawakening us he’s trying to tell us that no things are not the same things are not clear we should wake up we should open our eyes and see why god has created all human beings equal in rights and dignity
That good samaritan those robbers that in keeper plus those who passed by the way all of them god created them with rights and dignity and what happens they have to live together they are the ones painting for us this clear picture of a good samaritan a clear picture of what happens today
And what does this imply that we are not to live in isolation human beings are not meant to live in isolation we are meant to live for each other we are meant to live with each other and we are meant to support each other on the way suppose we didn’t have people
And this man was living in isolation no one would have robbed him suppose this good samaritan will not have passed there what could have happened so this means that we are to live in relation in a society in a fraternity sharing love and sharing life together for united we stand but always divided
We shall not move anywhere we need a community we need the society i need you you need me so that together we can cross the barriers of life so that together we can hold on to each other and keep on moving if i move together i’ll get tired but if we moved together
As a group then automatically we shall make a great distance why because as we move as a group we shall be talking encouraging each other just spearheading each other’s life so that we can see our journey move human beings have got dreams and that is what the holy father tells us
But we cannot dream alone if we have dreams to build i remember in the other session i told you that dreams we build them step by step stunned by stone and then we watch our dream houses grow and glow so human beings have got dreams we have good thoughts but these dreams
Cannot be actualized in isolation these dreams cannot brought to a realization alone why because if we are alone we may see as if these ones are not dreams but we may see a bluered image of the reality it is you as my brother who shall help me see the reality in my dream
Hold my hand and together we see that dream come true and that is the aspect of a good samaritan in you and a good samaritan in me humanity is created for communion and that is why during the creation god said let us make man in our own image and likeness
He didn’t isolate and say no he didn’t create adam alone and placed him then say adam today you’re going to live here alone no he created adam in his own image and likeness then he went further and created eve why for communion for togetherness for that union
There is nothing in this world we are living in we tend to cheat ourselves that we can fail the hurdles of life together that we can surpass life together that we are self-sufficient we tend to teach ourselves that i and my family are okay we are somehow self-contained and we can make life
Alone no there is nothing like superhuman at one point you break down at one point you become vulnerable at one point you become a person in need and therefore that is when your neighbor stands out to raise you up to put you back to your feet and help you move
And cross the hurdles of life there exist nothing like being self-sufficient no at one point we will need the other person to come in and show us that little that we have not seen this person never knew that he was going to fall into the hands of bandits he never knew
It was only a petty a low man a man maybe with very low dignity in the society during those days that this man who felt like i should be able to extend my hand and help this man come back to life life in the world we live in today
Exists where there is bonding and communion life exists where there is fraternity life is sweet when we build it in strong relationship bonds of fidelity i’m just creating a phenomena here suppose i was born in the world alone suppose you are in this world alone so what could happen
To you how will it feel like the world will be very boring it will be very humiliating and sometimes you will even end up being mute because you wouldn’t talk to anybody you have no one to ask you have no one maybe to help you you have no one to reason with together
And if you have no one to help you then you are living in isolation which is not the case the holy father calls us to review our humanity and act with integrity there is a need for us to renew our humanity we are human beings with reasoning capacity beings with greater morals
And that is what we are called upon to do to upheld them to exhume them where we have kept them in our subconscious bring them forth and live with them together sometimes we cheat ourselves and say my humanity is leading me astray no god has given us the reasoning capacity
That surpasses all the other creatures that he created and that is who we are privileged and happy to be molded in the image and likeness of god what makes me and you human at the end of the day because we tend to say ah the good samaritan was a human person
The bypassers were human persons the good samaritan was human the bandits were human so what makes you and i human at the end of the day is it our physical appearance that we can say this is who i am and so i am human what about robots some of
Them have got a physical appearance are they human no is it about the 206 or so bonds that makes up our human body that we can say aha at the end of the day i am human because i have bones no even animals do have bones do they make them humans
No is it our blood each one of us have got almost a half a gallon of blood is it the blood that is running inside me and the blood that is running inside you that makes you to be a human at the end of the day definitely no even other creatures
Do have blood our bones our blood can help us to do most of the mortar activities like walking like talking maybe raising up our hands being engaged in physical exercises here and there but that is not what makes us human whatever makes us human is the attributes
That we have within us the reasoning capacity the morality and that ability to organize to form to establish and create social relationships which brings us to social fraternity and in those social relationships we have to hold social fraternity brotherhood sisterhood and love at the end of the day brotherly love
Is clearly fading around in the world as we look at things today and it is normal none of us will stand here and say oh life is still the way it used to be no there are some of us who reach a point in time and we say ah this is not the
Way life was two years down the line this is not the way life was three years down the line this is not the way life was during those 20 years or 40 what is making that to happen because brotherhood humanity is fading away slowly by slowly
As we delve into the modern world which is full of lust full of greed full of envy full of glutton wrath pride sludge name them and all these things have gotten hold of us that we do not really realize that humanity within us we have developed some sense of resilience
That this is the status quo that life should move on like this and that is what we want at some point in time we seem to have developed tough hards and we seem to have taken our conscience back to the subconscious that we do not we are not able
To link the happenings with the situations of life the way they should be are we able to construct a difference between the real good and the apparent good especially when we are dealing with each other in life how comes then we have got the mind your own business that don’t touch me
We have got this is mind alone attitude why because that brotherly love that sisterly love that humanity expressed in the person of the good samaritan is being wiped away and we are seated and leaving it to go we are seated and living it to move
At the end of the day what will we do it is true our society is disintegrated along ties off tribalism this is my religion this is my sister from where i come from i can only offer support to these specific people and not the other one
I can only share with this group of people and not the other one i can only look after these people and not the other one and those are the things that are disintegrating the world and even our communities together with our families we tend to be pulling each other towards the opposite direction
And if we are not going to take care the holy father wants that life is not going to be the way it should be there will be no peace it is true that the world is in turmoil yes the world is facing a lot of challenges yes
The world is facing a lot of obstacles and a lot of hurdles that most of us have to cross over but should that help us to stay and say no this is it no as a religious as a franciscan as a christian as a person who has interacted with the
Scriptures especially this scripture of the good samaritan each and every day what have you done what have i done what is my responsibility what is your responsibility we need to break the barriers that are existing in our society today we need to break the cultural barriers we need to break the individual barriers
The barriers created by language the barriers of our organizations and some of the interpersonal barriers that we have within our various groups in the society and be able to impress that brotherhood that sisterhood that fraternity that our holy father francis said yes this is my brother this is my sister
But with these things happening especially these things that are dividing us in life then that brotherhood will not be failed then that brotherhood will continue being killed slowly by slowly as we move on with the ears and when we will be opening our eyes time will have elapsed and there will be
Nothing for us to do it will be too late for us to start collecting what we have lost and we start building up again in life there are some questions that we need to ask if at all we are living as franciscans and if at all we are living as
Christians and if at all we are living according to the ethos of the holy father pope francis who says that there should be fraternity in our relationships how many times must my brother stumble and fall before i lend him a hand just sit and relax and ask yourself
How many times have we seen our sisters fall our spouses fall our children fall the child of the neighbor falling engaging in things that are not correct and we fold our hands and say ah that’s not my child that’s not my responsibility that is not my work
That does not concern me it is your own problem solve it how many times must people wander alone before we can call them friends does friendship only mean that person who gives me what i want that person whom we live with in the community that person whom i call
And he or she listens to me that person who attends to my need is that friendship no friends is called each and every person a friend regardless of who you are including the animals in the fields he said brother son sister moon sister death mother death are not only human beings
So how many times must we see fellow human beings suffering before we can lend a hand how many times must we see our brothers and sisters being judged and more so judged wrongly and we stay and say uh let her fight with her own ideas or with his own ideas
How many times have you and i condemned in a wrong way how many times have we seen a person being judged and even being maybe reprimanded in life for what he or she hasn’t done and yet we fold our hands and say no let her struggle alone and some of us
Have been even happy and we cheer up and say at least at the end of the day she can suffer or he can suffer is that humanity is that fraternity is that fraternal love is that the love that our savior jesus christ died on the cross for me and you
No wonder these things started happening long time ago because last week we were doing the easter uh trident and in the easter trunks some people who had seen jesus here and there some denied him like his own brother preacher denied him as time went by judas also just betrayed him
As if that was not okay the thieves who were with him on the cross side by side one felt sorry and said ah jesus remember me as you come to your kingdom and the other thief said you claimed to be the son of god so why can’t you save yourself and save us
We have seen that happening in our society but how many times do we there and say hello this is wrong this is not the way things should be this is not the way this person should be accused what do we do we step aside we turn our back sometimes we even close
Our eyes not to see the reality but what happens to those who point out the reality again we turn the ball and we say now you are in favor of this person so the two of you have worked this out i think these are the normal things normally in quads because they
Aren’t normal they are abnormal but we see them normal as human beings at the end of the day will you be able to bend down judge and heal the wounds of others yes the world is wounded that sister close to you in the community is wounded you are also wounded that
Brother is wounded you are wounded that mother of your children in your house is wounded you are wounded your children are wounded your neighbors your relatives your co-workers especially during this time will you be in a position to bend down and heal their wounds or we fall in the
Category of those who passed by and said ah this is not my business colby they were passing by and saying let me not even look at the person he might look at me and see us if i passed at him is that the way forward is that fraternity
Are we able to lower ourselves down bend and help that person get back to his knees the society is full of people who have lost hope the society is full of people who have just lost the way of living they don’t they even don’t know what tomorrow holds for them
They even don’t know where to begin from some of them do not know even what is happening in our lives not outside but inside our own realms where we live do we dare to help them rise back to their feet do we dare to bring them back to life
Do we trigger them and ask them so what is happening how are you doing what is wrong can i be of help can i be of support the answers to all these questions are generally nothing but they are within us and that is love because if i hold greater love for myself
And for my brother and sister then i will be in a position to do all these things i will be in a position to uplift the lowly i’ll be in a position to bring back that one who has gotten lost i will be in a position to collect back that
Which i have broken into another person if i have love within myself then i will be able to rebuild the society the person or the family that i have destroyed then i will be in a position to recreate and breathe out life into the person that i have made to feel
Abandoned lifeless and rejected in the society that answer is love that answer is fraternity it lies in you and it also lies in me as an individual once said there is need for decolonizing our minds there is need for reconstruction of our minds and not only our minds reconstruction of ourselves
Our families our communities our societies our nations and the world and that reconstruction should begin from me and you we can build things are not yet lost there is still hope for a future tomorrow there is hope for a greater tomorrow if only we realize that we are
Able to reconstruct and to rebuild again we can do this by realizing that i am able to fulfill the other person and the other person also finds fulfillment in me and together we fulfill the community the community will fulfill our nations and our nations will fulfill the whole world
There is need to re-awaken our conscience our conscience in this modern world seem to have been taken back into the subconscious and sometimes we when you look at things i don’t know if you brothers and sisters together with the other people in here i don’t know if you’ve ever asked
You just see things happening and you see them ah that is the way things are yet it is wrong yet it is not right but you sit back and just to see in the streets of nairobi sorry to use this you see a person being snatched something but you can’t
You have nothing to do you can’t run you can’t help you can’t shout because if you do they’re coming back for you that is where the world has blessed us with regard to our conscience there is need to avoid detaching ourselves from the other let’s form a spirit of attaching ourselves to
Each other so that together we can bloom together we can grow and together we can reach fulfillment and happiness there is need for us to go an extra mile despite of the clouds despite of the healthy looks look here in the sixth station veronica wiped the face of jesus
Veronica did not dare what are people going to say what are people going to see how are people going to look at me will people also condemn me because of this she surpassed that and went ahead and wiped the face of jesus and what did jesus do on that particular cloth
Jesus left his own image so we are called to surpass those looks we should go an extra mile never mind let them look but we are doing the right thing lets the crowds talk let the crowds yell let the community hear but at the end of the day
You know what you are doing is right and you know constantly that god will reward a deed that is done out of good the holy father reminds us that we are all sailing in the same boat i’m wondering sailing in the same boat towards the same direction towards the same destination
Which is eternal life so what would happen if you were saving on a boat alone and in the midst of the ocean or in the midst of the sea there comes strong winds there comes turbulence and torrents water starts getting into your but you start screaming who will help
You you start shouting who will help you are all alone once in a scenario jesus was was taking a nap and the disciples were on the water and the winds came and they were shouting and they went to wake him up lord we are dying and what did jesus do because they were
Together they were able to shout and jesus woke up and was able to calm the wind and they were able to pass so we are reminded that together we form a community together we form a society and together we are sailing towards the same goal and we cannot make to that goal
Alone hence fraternity is needed hence we need to build it together building things together looks unto love and love does not care about the way the sister comes from the place the orientation the destination no love is love love should shutter the chains that keep us isolated and separate
You see when we isolate ourselves we are like uh portioned in our own cocoons we are like tied in our own comfort zones but with love these chains should be broken and we should be free to embrace the other person to be able to welcome the other person and move on
Love should build bridges and make them strong not the building bridges like the bbi in the building bridges initiative no but life should build a bond that is stronger a bond that needs a million of people to break it and love enables us whatever we move wherever we go
To feel at home that i can come to you as my brother you can come to me as your sister i can come to the other person and we share life together only when there is love because if there is no love i’ll be asking so what has she come to do
So what is she going to eat so how is she going to look at us if there is love those questions scissors they never exist love creates a sense of belonging and oneness and love excludes compassion and dignity without which then things can never be the way we feel they should be
The holy father in this chapter too the stranger on the road reminds us that we should be able to practice that golden rule do unto others what you wish them to do unto you if i don’t want to be hated why should i hurt you
If i don’t want to to be quarreled so why should i call on you if i don’t like people looking down upon me so why should i look down upon you if i don’t feel well when i’m rejected when i’m abandoned so why should i reject you and then
Abandon you at the end of the day let us acclaim and be able to do that which we feel is good for ourselves we should also do it to others and let’s exchange the shoes that i put myself into the shoe of the other person and allow myself to feel if this person
Were to do this for me how will i feel like how will it sound how will i behave how will i react then if we ask ourselves these questions we shall live in prosperity and at peace and at the end of the day you cannot
Claim that you have the love of god the creator without having the love of your neighbor you can’t love that whom you do not see without loving that whom you live with you share life with you can see you can mingle with and you can even watch the sufferings
It’s only a real awakening of our conscience that is needed and we have the greater opportunity to make the world a better place to be by just being accommodative being hospitable accepting each other as children of one father who is god by just being there for each other by just
Being available for each other by accepting that yes as a human being i have limitations the other human person has limitations but together we can fail together we can move and together we can form a community a family a society full of love more than often
The holy father calls us to start a new that is the article number 77 to around 79 after looking through all the hurdles of life from where we began from how cain killed the brother how the good samaritan story talks to me and you especially not in the past world but in
The modern world where we live today he tells us that yes there is more room there is an opportunity that there is a chance we have not lost all we can start anew and definitely he before he starts writing anything in article 77 to 79 he says
There is need for us to study anew and what does starting a new mean that we should be able to accept that yes all these things have happened we have not been able to practice brotherhood as it should be we have left others aside we have created the don’t care aspects
We have created the mind your own aspects but we should not stay there when we fall we should not just lie there prostrate and say i have fallen no there is room for us to rise again to come back to our feet to put our feet
On the road once again and say yes we can begin i’m wondering jesus fell three times after jesus falling the first time that was the third station he didn’t sleep there and say i have fallen i don’t have strength i can’t move on he woke up around the fifth station
Simon helped him to carry the cross and the cross became heavier and heavier on the seventh station he again fell down but he never slept and said ah allow me to rest so that i can have that energy to move on no he woke up amidst all the caning
The beating and all the scorching heat he woke up and said no i can begin anew so that human beings can be saved on the ninth station again he fell down at this time i think he was exhausted he was really down his energy was fading away
But jesus never slept and said no allow he said no i must continue my journey towards the salvation of humankind and he moved on courageously bearing the weight of the cross the heat and all the things that the human persons were doing to him especially the humiliations that were being
Carried out on him so there is need for us to start a new we can build up again even after the strong storm during noah’s time there was life again life had to begin because each day offers us an opportunity there is a new possibility there is a new
Opportunity for us to start up again for us to start showing that love for us to start embracing the other for us to start acting like the good samaritan to the people around us let us start over again because there is room there is space for us to recreate
That which we have made today that which we have made to lose hope there is also need and time for us to pick up all the broken pieces around the world those broken because of lack of love and fraternity the holy father says there is need for us to pick up those pieces
Put them together stitch them together make a new item and let’s see new life spring up again in our society let’s create peace by extending hands to each other by extending an olive branch to each other that yes we have passed through all these together
But there is need and room i welcome you that we may begin afresh that we may start up again and be new beings let us bring hope and new life to the people around us i know many of us will start saying so how will they look at me
That i have changed drastically that i have started showing love drastically that happens for a moment and after a while things are forgotten and life moves on christ has risen from the dead a sign of new life and hope and therefore we are called to be ambassadors of
Christ to bring new life to bring hope to bring value to the society in the form of love and fraternity in the form of togetherness if christ had not risen the disciples will still be locked in a room somewhere if christ had not risen i don’t know what she’ll be telling us that
If we will have went to easter if christ continued staying in the tomb definitely there was nothing for us to say the church is beginning from here but because of that new life christ starting a new waking up from the dead to bring us new life and hope we also have chance as
Human beings to bring back what we have lost in the form of fraternal spirit we are called to be sincere in our dealings with each other christ was sincere nevertheless when he he rose from the dead he showed himself to his brothers peace be with you and we are called to also show
That peace we are called to be considerate and called to practice just charity called to practice love love in action and in deed in matthew chapter 25 verse 35 onwards christ tells us i was hungry and you gave me something to eat i was thirsty and you gave me something to drink
I needed clothes and you clothed me i was sick and you looked after me in prison and you came to visit me and suffered why can’t we create hope by only delving into the fraternal love that is missing in our world of today by just being there for our brothers and sisters
By just minding a little bit about my brother and sister i don’t mean we sit there at the end of the day and say i’m minding you i’m looking after you i am caring of you no even if it is that pinch of action that you do from your heart towards a neighbor
Towards a friend towards a brother or sister it can create a difference because all these things that we are doing in the world despite the fact that we are doing them for fellow human beings we are but doing them unto god we are but doing them unto that who has given us
All those opportunities but we have misused them and should we also do good we are also doing that good for that who created us because at the end of the day christ has got no hands we are the hands of christ christ has got no eyes you and i are the
Eyes of christ christ has got no ears you and i are the ears of christ he has no feet but you and i should be the feet of christ so all that we do let us always remind ourselves that yes we are doing them for the brothers and sisters
But we are doing them for christ and automatically we are doing them for god himself and at the end of the day if we are doing them for god himself for christ himself in the form of a human person whom i am able to see
Whom i am able to relate with then at the end of the day christ will reward those good deeds then at the end of the day christ will be in a position to show me that truly you did what you what i deserved you to do
And therefore together we shall be in a position to inherit the kingdom of heaven definitely i cannot so higher and higher and higher as i see my brother or my sister falling i cannot be able to prosper i prosper and continue becoming excellent becoming good doing good being praised here and there
At the expense of my brothers and sisters christ will not be happy with that why because he created us in union he created us for communion and not in isolation remember i need you and you need me without you i cannot be who i
Am and without me at the end of the day you cannot be who you are and therefore there is need for us to embrace each other and be able to move on as brothers and sisters and be able to move on as individuals together as we form the society
Be able to live and fail in the hurdles of life together as brothers and sisters and definitely the holy father prays that we should be able to support each other especially in chapter two that there is that need to reawaken our support our availability and hold each other’s hand so that
Together we may move together and on article 61 he says you shall not do wrong or oppress a stranger why because you are a stranger in the land of egypt you shall not oppress a stranger you know the heart of a stranger for you are a stranger in egypt also
So let’s remember that despite the fact that we see our brothers and sisters just as fellow human beings and strangers at the end of the day there is one aspect that should hold the aspect of love the aspect of fraternity the aspect of togetherness so that
In union together with christ we may be able to inherit the kingdom of god happy to live together and not happy to live in isolation i thank you all for listening and i welcome any form of reaction any form of contribution and anything that you will wish

All about love and solidarity thank you sister for reminding us yeah there is still hope for a better tomorrow as long as we can re-awaken our conscience this is really wonderful and yeah there is a need of renewing uh where humanity and act in integrity with integrity

The franciscans are growing every day you agree with me that the presentation of sister euphrasia was based on life experience on how we live our communities and if you can look at the the the some of the discussions you you see that somebody assistant said we need to actually live on daily self
Exploration we need to do search ourselves on the way we live with one another and put it as a practice in our communities in our families so that we can leader respond positively to the this document of pope sister thank you for taking that time and preparing a wonderful presentation

And congratulations to our brother steve for the steps which you’re about to make i also want to thank sister euphrasia for a powerful presentation i think sister you have challenged all of us by asking us uh these reflective questions and what my take home is that as franciscans and as christians
We need to be sensitive to the needs of others that is my take home wherever i am whoever is in need i need to be sensitive to him or her i am also asking sister can you give us your contacts your mobile number cadre and also if you can share your notes i
Will be happy to have your slides otherwise thank you very much may god bless you um and let us hear from like one more participant before we invite also for the hammond but at least one more comment hello hello everyone hello and good morning good morning yes uh steve my is looking
Who is this speaking this is sisterhood i’ve so that’s why you cannot see my name uh mine is just first of all to to say thank you to sister eufresia for this presentation it was such a wonderful presentation a challenge one but also an encouraging one because we can always begin
Anew and life continues to offer each one of us an opportunity to start new to the create the world that you want to see the word full of love the word full of compassion the world that everybody looks for the common good of each other and especially the challenge that
We are called to be responsible accountable and committing to each other in this life because we are all in need of each other commit ourselves to working together to recreate our relationship looking forward to what is good for each one of us so thank you so much um
Uh sister euphrasia it was such a wonderful presentation we really appreciate and um we are challenged that we can always begin a new drivers not today i failed but there is always an opportunity for me for me to begin a new to to care for the other to feel committed that
Is encouraging and it is um supportive so thank you so much you have really challenged us and really appreciate and um i was laughing at this point as we were sharing the point of reflection how many times we allow others to follow before we give our hands and sometimes we say that them
Learn by their mystics let them struggle and then they can find themselves but maybe if we i was to come in before the other person struggles and falls that person may not have fallen so how many times i allow others to go down and before i give my heart was really a challenge
And an invitation to get deeper reflection on that because sometimes you’re like people can learn from their own but we are told that nobody is is going to leave enough to run from their own mistakes so i allow people to fall before we give their the hand so thank you so much sister
Frasier thank you so much everyone and congratulations steve we are united we are here to support you we want to see you uh we are in that ring and beginning a new life thank you thank you so much all right thank you for these remarks and the comments
Before i invite fatherhood and let me invite sister you frazier to give us her final remarks then we can end this discussion Okay i really appreciate each and every person for all the comments that i have seen at the chat box i wish to appreciate everybody for listening to me and for the encouraging comments that you’ve made verbally for those who have spoken it is true that we are living in a changing world
But let’s not the changing world drive us the way it should actually we should use our reasoning capacity and be in a position to surpass the world and not the world to surpass us we cannot just move because the world is wanting us to move that direction
So let’s take up the let’s take up the challenge of being human we take up the challenge that god created us in his image and likeness that god created us to be reasoning beings and beings that have got morals and be in a position to support
Each other work the journey to hold each other’s hand and live in communion and in union with each other so thank you all and let’s keep really talking about this article from the holy father the encyclical and fraternity because it’s one of the encyclicals that talks about
The reality of today actually the pope wrote this encyclical at the time when this pandemic of kovid had begun so when you look at all those articles until the last one the holy father talks about the reality of the world we are in today so let’s take advantage of reading the
Document and it will shed a lot of light to what we are living today and lastly i wish to congratulate steve for the step about to be taken it’s a serious step in life i wish that you take it seriously praying that god will accompany you god will watch over you
And god will see you succeed in the new life that you are about to begin otherwise to all of you thank you god bless and keep you Thank you so much sister let me M can you hear me yes we hear you now now aha so i have to unmove okay okay now um i would like to refer sister you um euphrasia for all the value systems you have mentioned the virtual systems which are um should be realized should be put
Into our lives rooted definitely in the bible life of jesus god himself so you represented so many um spiritual a social a charitable environmental aspects which are really a value system should become total value system of our times and this is the aim and direction of the fratelli tutti let us
Put common efforts in the realization of um a common vision of everything busyness in administration teaching um education school systems business systems road systems it’s all somewhere connected with humanity no piece of this world is out without connection with me and you and us and all people so
Holy father is in mind the globalism and the totalism of everybody so thank you thank you thank you we are here to conclude and i see we build up with this system of giving talks we see already coming up the new heroes of forwarding spirituality forwarding our own value systems to one another
And to the franciscan first and to all euphrasia great great great performance great personality behind you have a great future for teaching others and we have to value this i feel so happy as one almost going to the 18th and seeing the young generation is picking up so profound so convincing
And with conviction involved the great great great event in this time of easter the risen lord is alive in me and you and in the life and heart of euphrasia congratulations let’s clap the hands so the lord be with you and with your spirit just say if you’re almighty god bless us
The father and the son and the holy spirit join armoured hands hearts and minds cheeks together and eyes together i would like just to say the ones who do not look into the light and the light is in their backside we cannot see their eyes and their faces please
My light comes from the window i’m facing if your light is in the back nothing will be seen from your beauty from your conviction from your gestures don’t hide yourself let us keep and be total human beings in communities in society in neighborhood in in our institutes god bless you
