Down my youtube channel it’s another place where you could watch my video content so please do add yourself there as well well i’ve seen a story this week that i thought was very interesting and it was really a reminder of the fact that the united states and other entities will
Try to do anything in order to silence the voices inside of the african community who are a threat to its dominance and one of the ways that they seem to do that is by utilizing our own people so what i want to use this video in particular to do is to be a
Cautionary tale for my people throughout the african community so many of us have been blessed so many of us have privileges that others of us do not have now the bad thing that comes with that is that there’s a lot of temptation that often comes with these privileges you
Know the capitalist system doesn’t just award people for the sake of awarding them they award them for the sake of having a hierarchy a racial hierarchy inside of our communities and the purpose of that hierarchy is to be weaponized against the masses of african people i know i’m talking very abstract
But you’re going to understand more and more as i go through this video what specifically i am talking about before i get to the juicy story that being the divine nine having been uh recruited by the joe biden’s administration to help with the voting drive that they’re
Trying to do i do want to just talk a little bit about how hbcu the hbcu conversation has been really co-opted i would say now it’s not a criticism against hbcus in general as with anything we should never fall back on generalizations about how important certain things have been to
Our community for example we know for example that an organization like the end of ocp has done things that are bad for our community and it’s done things that are good for our community now we can’t have a holistic critique of the naacp as far
As what role do they have today but it should never be lost that any type of criticism against that role is some some type of attempt to completely undo the many types of situations where the naacp may have been on the right side of history and similar we should have a
Similar regard for hbcus we should understand that hbcus first of all there are many of them and they are throughout the united states and they have different histories and they have different times come in to do positive things for our community but in some instances they’ve been utilized as a as
A tool really to suppress our communities and inside of the modern discourse i think that that’s something that is happening today so what do i mean if you think about how joe biden and kamala harris and before then barack obama and so many others than donald trump too if you think about whenever
We’re asking okay what is on the agenda for the black community inside of the united states anytime that’s being asked of a presidential administration the default thing that they go back to is well we’re trying to find hbcus the question though is how is that funding translating to the emancipation
Of the africans inside of the community we understand hbcus are overwhelmingly the way that african people are educated but does that education militarize them for the ultimate freedom of their people or is it being used as a way to severely really co-opt the movement for emancipation now this is not something
That you can say is the fault necessarily of people who are attending hbcus a lot of this is things that are being done behind the scenes policies that are being enacted by the united states government because it’s an intentional effort to use any type of institution whether it be an hbcu or a
Church or an organization any type of organization that has a powerful presence in a community there’s an intentional attempt to use that for the betterment of white supremacy having unquestionable dominance inside of the discourse in the united states now i’m going to read very quickly through a
Story and then we’ll start going through what i’m talking about inside of this particular video the biden administration reiterates its commitment to hbcus and refutes reports of funding cuts if you did not know for example there was reports that were released last week saying that joe biden is cutting funds that
A lot of people felt slighted because that was one of the things that he campaigned on i’ll say again that’s one of the things he campaigned on because i think that’s one of the things that is safe to campaign on for example it’s safe to campaign on funding hbcus it’s
Not safe to campaign on disrupting the prison industrial complex and we should ask why the biden administration has released a fact sheet aiming to to show its continued commitment to historically black colleges and universities as it combats what it calls misinformation promulgated over social media and in republican circles so pause
Right there that should be a red flag republican circles are comfortable and we understand obviously republicans and democrats they’re the same bird but we understand republicans are a little bit more um unashamed of their racial politics republican circles are circulating this story about joe biden not funding or
Cutting funding to the hbcus as proof that he’s not doing good for the black community the republicans are using hbcus as proof that should be a red flag right there to show you that this is a subject area that they have identified that is non-threatening to global white supremacy so particularly irritating to
The biden administration was an associated press report the president has cut funding to hbcus from 45 billion to 2 billion now here comes another person and this goes to the subject of this video another racial overseer pastor jamal bryant falsely claimed that the administration sought to define hbcus he
Later attracted those comments in the face of discrimination against black americans by many institutions of higher education hbcus fostered academic excellence and created pathways for opportunity for black students throughout our nation administration officials wrote in a fact sheet they said hbcus vary in size and academic focus and
Serve a range of diverse students in communities in urban rural and suburban settings hbcu graduates are leaders in every field and include barrier-breaking public servants scientists artists lawyers engineers educators and business owners let’s repeat public servants scientists artists lawyers engineers educators and business owners i want to say to my people who
Are striving to enter into those categories that we be very much aware that these are categories that are often manipulated to work for the system that is ultimately built for the demise of our people and we have to identify this they will always throw you a bone
Because they want you to enter these professional circles for the specific purpose of being utilized as a way to dominate inside of your community and you might not recognize that that’s the agenda but it is the agenda it’s always the agenda to find subvert ways to enter
Into places where white people would not be welcomed and the way that they do that is they basically will educate some of us they’ll give some of us these degrees they’ll weaponize us you know and say hey these are the speakers of your race these are the best and the
Brightest of your race these are the lawyers the engineers the doctors these are the people who you should aspire to be listen to them as they parrot what we want them to say and i’m saying this obviously as someone who falls into one of these categories it’s very much a
Type of system that when you have it in your mind that you want to be a lawyer or a doctor or an engineer or whatever there is an intentional effort to de-radicalize anyone who wants to enter into those occupations which shows you honestly this is not just about hbcus
This is about privilege privileged positions period whenever you’re offered a privileged position you’re going to be offered a chance to be utilized by your oppressor that’s just the reality of what it is and every single one of us regardless of what type of college you
Go to we have to make a conscious effort that if we’re entering into the educational field we’re not entering to be utilized by the system against our people but we’re we’re doing it all honestly to challenge the system otherwise if you do not come to that realization then you will find once
Again that you have been used for the dismemberment of your community’s liberation so this is what we’re going to be talking about today specifically as the story that caught my attention because not necessarily hbcus story this is something that’s been going on for a long time as far as the hbcus but
Reports being put out that the divine nine the fraternities and sororities who have done many good things inside of the african community but joe biden is going to them for help as far as vote getting voters black voters to be weaponized as a tool for the democratic party so
Before we get into that story let’s talk about some news that’s happening around the african world our pan-africanist channel that means that we look at all african people as one and therefore whatever stories happen it’s not about where you’re located or whether you’re on or off the continent but it’s about stories that
Relate directly to our condition as a people i do have to say that because some people question as far as why i select some stories and others now the first story that we’re going to talk about is the african union slash world bank suspending sudan over the new
Military coup if you do not know there was a military crew this week in sudan this is not the first coup as of recently there’s been many clues inside of african countries and we see a similar reaction what happens is that the african union which has nothing to
Say again whenever people are being abused often step in whenever there’s a coup because that is their way of ensuring that they maintain dominance whenever it’s it’s their turn basically to be pushed out of power because the african union is made up of many african presidents that are also corrupt
So it says the african union said wednesday it had suspended sudan and so civilian rule in the country is restored saying it rejected the military takeover as an unconstitutional seizure of power the continent wide block said it strongly condemned the seizure of power and was suspending sudan from all au
Activities until the effective restoration of civilian-led transitional authority later the world bank the world bank is one of the major international institutions that has adapted many african countries and actively works to ensure that the west maintains dominance over those countries the world bank has also decided to suspend sudan sudanese general abdel
Fattah abbahan on monday ordered the dissolution of the government and declared a state of emergency sparking wise for international condemnation so this is a number one of a number of instances like this and this is what happens in my opinion whenever you have these reformist governments that are
Supposed to fill in the gaps as far as what has been done to colonize people meaning you can’t have a simple transition to democracy whenever your people have been suffering from an intentional effort to rob them of their power their resources and their own economic capabilities this is what has
Been done to africa by the west so any type of movement that does not have a direct intent to just to disarm the neocolonial oppressors will only end up being a reformist movement sudan was a civilian-led government for a while this is following another coup and yet here we are again with another
Um showing of the instability that exists inside of africa post-colonialism so we will keep watching and keep our hope in our prayers hopefully you are praying for your people in africa we’ll keep our prayers that these people are going to find a way to actually achieve
Power in such a way that it relieves disability and leads to more freedom and not to a reoccurrence of the international actors handcuffing them anytime whenever they try to exercise sovereignty in other coup news can you believe that the united nations felt like they had the authority to go into mali and tell
Them what they should do well this is the united nations or what the united nations does the u.n security council delegates the human security council people this is the highest body in the united nations the only one that has any real power at this point led by ambassadors from the u.s france
And niger arrived in bamako two days of talks to push the military-led interim government for return to democracy after two coups in nine months now you might say why are they pushing this they’re trying to push this because a return to democracy essentially is a return to order as far
As the internet the the world international order of things being able to control an individual country as of right now mali like another of other a number of other countries such as sudan and other west african countries and countries throughout the world actually they’ve been experiencing crews right
Now it’s up for grabs as far as they’re concerned and they want to reassert their dominance it’s that the delegation adds to international pressure on crew leaders to abide by a february 27th deadline by the economic community of west african states the echoes another neo-colonial body now kenya’s ambassador to the u.n martin
Kim kimani said that it would be ideal for them to have a better understanding of this of the situation in mali in order to know how best to help i would say how best to control um they said we want to understand the situation in mali to feed our discussion
In new york as a in new york is where the united nations is um as a fellow african country the situation in mali and sahel is very dear to kenya kenya is one of the united states top allies and one of the countries that is utilized for a military occupation of the african
Continent that something has to be remembered they said we welcome this mission with open arms we found this an opportunity to present the reality of the situation in mali and also to present the progress that is being made by the transitional government but also to present our vision of what must be
Done to complete the transition through the organization of transparent and credible elections so this is what’s being said about mali and of course the united nations has one mission and one mission only to ensure that those five countries are inside a security council the us china europe not europe the u.s china
England or britain france and i’m missing one u.s china oh in russia but those five countries are still the main voices as far as what’s going to happen throughout the world that is what the united nations is tasked with doing and because those countries are dominated by western
Interests if you look at even a composition three out of uh five of them are specifically western european countries um four out of five are european countries if you look at the predominance of western interest there you’ll see that the united nations has no ability as far as their permanent
Members that is has no ability to be unbiased has no ability to show deference to the good of the million people but they only have the ability to strive to achieve whatever it is that will continue the dominance of those five major powers last but not least everyone please go
And check out a news article that was written by a friend to this channel ob luna jr he wrote a very riveting article talking about colin powell and it is on a newspaper i also wanted you to check out called southern african times this is a zimbabwean based newspaper that
Reports on things going on all over the continent and the link will be in the description just to read a small part of his article he says exactly 24 hours after colin powell’s death was the 38th anniversary of u.s imperialism’s invasion of grenada which led to the
Assassination of the great sun of africa their former prime minister maurice bishop this unjustifiable crime against humanity was carried out by general powell while serving under secretary of defense casper weinberger as his senior military assistant that’s very important aspect of colin powell’s legacy for us
To know that there was a country in the caribbean led by maurice bishop in this country was going to be a voice for the african diaspora seeking to decolonize and not be overcome by western imperialism in that country that small island that should not have meant anything to the united states whether or
Not they were free well they made an example out of them and completely authored any efforts of the grenadines to exercise their sovereignty he also writes just to be sure three years later mr weinberger called on general powell to do his dirty work and plan the bombing of libya that occurred in april
15 1986 that took the life of colonel muammar gaddafi’s two-year-old daughter if you don’t remember yes this happened his daughter’s two-year-old daughter was killed inside of an attack and then again here we go with general powell damage control on the stand was in conjunction with the cia’s funneling
Of crack cocaine to south central los angeles aimed at committing genocide against his people so that regime efforts aimed at nicaragua and iran could continue without any significant interruptions so this is a really great article i suggest that you read it and have a thorough understanding particularly my
People who feel the need to offer condolences for people who have outwardly shown that they do not care about you during their lifetime because of the social media hurrah sometimes we’re literally offering indulgences to people that have been nothing but devils to our community overseers of the black race now i want
To emphasize again i know many of you probably went to hbcus many of you probably are part of the divine nine this does not negate all of the good things that have been done through these institutions for our communities but it is a cautionary tale of how the
Institutions that we create could easily become used by the dominant forces to do what they have always done to us to tell us what’s good for us to tell us what we need to do to tell us how we need to vote to tell us what’s in our interest
This is what has been done historically over and over again and we have to be very careful whenever we are approached by these colonial powers with deals with meetings hey we want to meet with you we want to talk with you what do you want
To talk to us about why are you singling us out these are the questions that we should be asking and so that’s some of the questions we’re going to pose today the divine nine is moving heaven and earth to galvanize black voters for joe biden and kamala harris it says this
Year’s general election is unprecedented to say the least stakes are high and for many people notably black americans lives are at risk now they care about your lives now they care about your lives now that the voting is that voting could be a problem and they could have a
Problem uh holding on to power to come in the next election cycle now they care about your lives that’s why several associations dedicated to bettering communities of color immobilizing black voters to cast their ballots one such guild is the union of the divine nine greek organizations alpha kappa alpha
Alpha phi alpha kappa alpha psi delta sigma theta omega phi psi phi phi beta sigma zeta phi beta and sigma gamma rho and iota phi theta for months members have been diligently campaigning in favor of joe biden and kamala harris galvanizing marginalized groups across the country to hit the polls before november 3rd
All right y’all so it’s late at night and i’m editing this video and i just realized that the article that i meant to read from was not the one that i read from although that article is also important that one is about the last year election back in november however
There’s a news story that just came out that the biden administration has facilitated help from the divine nine so because i want this this story to be um said for this video i’m just going to read it really quickly it says to successfully enact new voting rights and
Police reform laws president joe biden may need some divine intervention but if he can’t get that at least he’s working to get some from the divine nine formerly known as the panhellenistic council and the divine nine represents nine historically black fraternities and sororities and their alumni it is arguably the most powerful
Organization in the black community and until now they’ve largely been unta untapped resource for administrations looking to connect with black voters so you see the whole intermediary aspect that they’re looking at them as a way to essentially have another way into the black community it says the biden white house
Is trying to change that intensifying its outreach to the group as it scrambles to reassure a crucial voting bloc that is growing and growing increasingly unhappy with the lack of progress on its core issues the divine nine boasts 2.5 million members worldwide including some of the most influential and powerful black people in
The country and in the biden administration that includes vice president kamala harris housing and urban development secretary marcia fudge and house majority whip jim clybourn a leading biden ally in congress i’m sure you all know he essentially got him this presidency whenever joe biden was losing
They said we’ve been at this for quite a while and have had people and so many seats on those political tables for years and we know that that makes a huge difference in terms of making sure that your voice is significant in terms of what it could do that’s what beverly
Smith said the current national president of delta sigma theta sorority incorporated so it’s the start of a discussion with this administration but it’s work the divine nine has been doing since its inception the biden white house sees the group as a particularly effective conduit of information and from their own members
And from their own members and the black community at large this is what his administration is saying people should not underestimate the power of the divine and that is collectively and individually as fraternities and sororities their reach is long and their reach is deep and so for us you don’t get that
Many organizations who affect such a broad swath of people kamala harris she hosted an hour long in person meeting with the council of presidents of the nine sororities and fraternities in her ceremonial office on october 6th and she requested the first time offer the first time all nine
Organizations be invited to the white house to meet with a president or vice president and this is something that was like i said unprecedented and just closing out the administration also added a monthly meeting um with the divine nine in addition to black stakeholders that already takes place essentially so you can kind
Of see why this particular article was important to emphasize um this is something new this is something unique and so i’m going to go back to the video but just so that you know this is current information and the other article was from last year only is it a
Matter of standing up for racial equity human rights and social justice but it’s also a matter of hear this backing kamala a member of their family here we go once again kamala harris gets to be utilized by the system i mean we know why joe biden picked her he picked her
For moments like this well that’s whenever we’re going to be utilized by the system whenever they want to find a way to have a person be the parrot the talking parrot of white supremacy and kamala harris is that person for joe biden he didn’t pick her for any other
Reason i mean i haven’t heard of kamala harris doing much outside of being the face to advertise white supremacy the face to say that hey we’re post racial to face to say that hey we’re moving forward that’s literally what she was picked for now when kamala pledged aka at howard university
She where she graduated in 1986 after studying political science and economics she joined a lineage that’s committed to uplifting their minage so when a d9 comrade needs their squad to pull up that crew comes through we’re seeing the impact of greek uh black greek sororities in fraternities in this
Election as they canvas stir the stroll to the pole’s initiatives personal observation i don’t often hear about kamala harris reference the fact that she is of some african ancestry or reference the fact that she went to hbcu and this is my first time really ever hearing her reference the fact that
She’s an aka and it’s interesting that these things are only brought up in conversation about trying to appeal to our people to get something that they want and that’s really what they utilize us for it’s not about the any true allegiance to her community again i don’t see her hanging
Around and talking to people unconnected to an agenda to me this is very specified to try to galvanize support for joe biden and unfortunately some of us fall for it some of us are so once again thirsty for acceptance by the dominant white society that we’re willing to
Conspire with our um with with people like kamala harris and willing to see her do the same thing to our communities that has been done historically that is people who are pushed up and put in a position of privilege having the right to go into our communities whenever it
Suits their interests and leave without ever doing a single thing for us this is something that has been done historically for to our people and we’re not mad about it clearly because we haven’t done anything about it every once in a while you have someone who actually does try to do something about
It and then all of the media parrots gang up on that person and and call them out say that they’re not helpful say that they’re not doing good for the community this is the way that they conspire to silence us over and over again so what do i mean by the uh black
Overseers i think it’s important for us to know there’s a long history in our country of black overseers or more specifically black slave drivers now if you are not aware of course inside of the enslavement system is out of the colonial system i mean this is global by
The way it’s not just specific to the united states every single colonial system that exists anywhere in the world there is always a deliberate attempt to recruit people who look like you to be the face meanwhile you are in the background and you’re allowing these people to pretend as though they’re
Acting out for the good of their community but really you’re about the they’re behind the scenes trying to uh pretend that they don’t know what’s going on but they know exactly what’s going on they understand that we’re being very controlled by these people because they’re effective tools now i’m
Going to just read a little bit from one article that’s going to talk about historically speaking the black slave driver and it’s called the man in the middle this article was written in 1979 and you can kind of tell from some of the language that it’s not too savory so
Just giving you a warning it says white planters of the antebellum south never relax their search for talent among their slaves the ambitious intelligent proficient were winnowed out and recruited for positions of trust and responsibility these privileged bondsmen artisans house servants four men served as inter intermediaries between the
Master and the slave community intermediaries remember that they exercised considerable power they learned vital skills of the survival of survival in a complex often hostile world knowing as they did the master’s needs and vulnerabilities they were the most dangerous slaves but they were also the most necessary i just have to say that
Again knowing as they did the master’s needs and vulnerabilities they were the most dangerous slaves but they’re also the most necessary none of these men in the middle has been more misunderstood than the slave driver policemen of the fields in the quarters to enforce discipline and guarantee performance in the fields
Planters enlisted slave foremen are drivers on large plantations where they worked as assistance to white overseers on smaller units they served immediately under the assistance to the white overseers or in smaller units they immediate they served immediately under the master generally they were an imposing physical presence capable of
Commanding respect from other slaves you heard it the people who worked most closely with the master the people who were elevated despite the fact that the entire slave system was an inherently evil system the people in the african community who were elevated to being a slave driver they received respect from
The other ones who were being oppressed during this entire fiasco it says ex-slave described the drivers as for example a great big cold man a large tall black man a bully fellow severe and extreme armed with a whip and outfitted in high leather boots in great coat all in
Emblematic of plantation authority the driver exuded an aura of power and we know obviously that was not any real power it was this perception of power and oftentimes the way this white supremacy works they don’t mind you perceiving someone else as being powerful they didn’t mind barack obama being perceived as being powerful
Because of the hundreds of white dominant capitalists who were behind him they don’t mind you thinking that he’s the one that has power in fact they would rather you not know who has the real power because you knowing actually is a threat to their power so this is a
Common thing in our history we have a african person and we’re supposed to look up to this person we’re supposed to aspire to be this person and really this person is just uh um the word like a paper soldier they’re not really anything of substance the only thing that they can do
Is find more ways to hurt you but they have nothing of harm to the dominant system because they’re controlled by that system it says masters often convert with their black slave drivers on matters of farming or on social arrangements in the quarters basically they were despised and they deferred to their advice
As the driver matured and became knowledgeable his relationship with his master became one of mutual regard i don’t know if that’s so true but at least he felt like he was mutually regarded as good by the master now this is in sharp contrast to the masters less settled and more transient relationships
With the white overseers in exchange for the driver services the planter compensated him with privileges even offered offered him freedoms more immediately planters tried to encourage the driver in a variety of small ways with bits of praise and pats on the back and even presents they gave him material
Rewards such as double rationings superior housing and gifts for the driver’s family i’ll say in a modern sense they might give you a huge salary they might give you a nice title they might give you a wonderful vacation benefit package these are the pats on the back that you might get
Some masters allow the drivers to marry woman off the plantation and a few drivers had more than one wife planters also set extra uh planters often set aside extra land for the driver’s personal use and allowed him to draft other slaves to tend to his garden in cotton patch he
Was usually permitted to sell produce on his own garden in town for cash drivers also went to town to purchase supplies for the master to do errands and to transact business for the slaves they often receive cash payments of 10 to several hundred thousand a year as gifts or even wages
During winter months some drivers hired themselves out to earn extra money and others learn traders with with which to build personal estates conspicuous consumption heightened the driver standing and gave sanction to his authority do you see the parallels that we have today and i want to emphasize
That we might look at this look back at this and say oh that’s ridiculous who would want to be a slave driver like you’re you’re still a slave you know your people are still slaves you’re you’re hurting your people you might look at this but if you actually stand
Back there’s a lot of ways that this mirrors some of the things that we aspire to many of us are okay working inside of governmental administrations that literally were created to um to keep the african world in a submissive position some of us were very happy when
Okonja iwala became the head of the world trade organization despite the fact that this same organization is directly responsible for the debt burden of many african countries and the reason why many african countries is are unable to get out of the conditions that they’re in despite that fact some of us
Were praising this as a great accomplishment and these are the things that they do to us some of us were praising the fact that is it the secretary of state of a black man who was elevated to this position or um no i believe it’s the first black hit of the
Pentagon the point is we praise these things and we think that it’s good whenever we see these people get benefits from their position and we do aspire to it we aspire to have a big house we aspire to have these big estates we aspire to have an island
Named after us we aspire to these gifts but if we’re understanding of the fact that i don’t care who you are or where you work all of us are inside of a global system of enslavement that is the truth you could be jay-z flying around inside of jets you could be a common
Post-worker post office worker we’re all inside of this system and all of our say and any type of effect that we have on the system is literally a an illusion they allow you to think that you’re free even though you’re not free so when you become aware of that these
Things that we aspire to become very meaningless and kind of make you question why am i aspiring to this instead of freedom why am i aspiring to this big salary instead of aspiring to having a community where the police can’t just come in and arrest everyone
Up whenever they want why am i aspiring to big big big african businesses inside of our country and having these resorts and everything but we’re not aspiring to control over our natural resources so you kind of see that we’re all being fed this idea that these small concessions are meaningful even though they’re
Literally the opposite now with the black overseer in mind let’s just very briefly we’re not going to go too much into this because there’s so many examples across across the board but we’re going to just go into back into the hbcu the hbcu conversation to understand how they try intentionally to create black
Overseers out of these institutions that are historically black or inside of different institutions that are even white controlled but they do this very intentionally and this is one of the ways they do it so there’s a institut institute program this is funded by the department of the interior it’s called the minority service
Serving institution this is an institution that is again a federal federal institution and it’s a program where they’re trying to fund different institutions specifically hbcus the program taps into the talents of students and faculty attending our nation’s minority serving institutions with hopes of fulfilling the department’s mission and objectives
Again they’re telling you this is for us fulfilling our objectives they say to accomplish this mission we need the best and the brightest to work and partner with the department i wanted to pull that out because that’s a very important way to look at it if you work with the
Department of defense if you work with the cia you’re not just working with them you are partnering with them and let that be the way that you refer to any job that you take if you’re working for an institution you are partnering with that institution and the partnership may be very lopsided of
Course you do not have you’re not the person holding the power but what they perceive this as is a trade-off we’re going to give you small concessions and for that we’re going to use your likeness in your image to be able to again go back into your
Community and tell a story that is contrary to reality the story is that we’re diverse and that we have so many people of different ethnicities and even the african people who are doing the worst in the world well we’re doing right by them in fact it literally says
Inside of the description again this is from the department of the interior the department is proud to work with ms msi partners through in-kind services volunteerism diverse hiring grants and con in contact so that’s the story that they want to be put out there and that’s what they’re going to use your presence
For just to um go a little further it says msi institutions of higher education that serve minority populations they are unique in their mission and their day-to-day operations some of these colleges and universities are located all over the country some of them are decades old while others have been striving for more than
A century to give their constituents the social and educational skills needed to overcome racial discrimination and limited economic opportunities through presidential executive orders and special legislation enacted over the past 20 years msis have accessed department funds and leverage other department resources on behalf of their students and communities so you see the
Setup right there right this is being poised as a way to have people who are of the more disenfranchised communities have the opportunity given to them by the president the president orders this they are given the opportunity to compete in america to be a part of the american
Dream and that’s how they’ll use you to advertise these types of these types of arrangements now let’s talk about the cia specifically and that’s where we’re going to basically focus in for the rest of this video if you’re working with the cia you’re partnering with the cia just just put
That out there if you’re working for the cia you are partnering with the central um central intelligence agency that’s what you’re doing and they understand this which is why they have made it the cia an intentional effort to recruit hvcus into being into their um helping their hiring pool so i’m reading
From an article that says one of the most dramatic manifestations of the increase in federal spending on hbcus is the central intelligence agency’s contact with black schools cia spending at hbcus ran rose from 1.1 million in 1992 to 5.8 million in 1995. much of the big jump was accounted for an increase in
Donation of excess equipment to colleges the hardware included photocopiers computers and office furniture in addition the agency has let the colleges and universities on classified and unclassified research contracts okay so for example prairie view a m university of texas was awarded 750 000 in contracts over the last two years
This is an old article but i thought this was still significant over the last two years for engineering projects for the cia according to government officials the agency also uses its summer fellowship programs as a part of its drive to connect with hvcus in a recruiting program for agency
Employees agency employees also serve in teaching posts on campuses the nearly tripling of the department of energy spending on hbcus includes an endowment of nine engineering professors at post black colleges and universities with engineering departments at one dollar per school the doe increased from 21 million um
From 21 million in fiscal 1992 to 58 59 million in fiscal year 1995 is part of the sharp increase in spending by federal science and technology sector of black campuses now this is how spending was going on in the 90s has it ceased no it’s only been propelled more
And more because they see a direct interest as far as using these institutions as a means to recruit for this agency the same agency which has a history internationally of being utilized to co-opt african movements for liberation it says now this this article title is something else a black college fund
Cia vows to create more agents of color okay central intelligence agency and a national organization that financially helps students at historically black colleges and universities announce during a press conference saturday that they are working on a plan to increase the number of african let me slow that down
They’re working on a plan to increase the number of african-american spies an analyst at the nation’s foremost spying agency johnny taylor jr president of thurgood marshall college fund and cia director john brennan said that they had not worked out the details of the plan but had agreed to make increasing number of
African americans at the agency a priority there were not enough black agents at the cia brennan said and he helps in alliance with the fun in this diversity and inclusion staff that where an african-american woman is the chair will begin to solve that problem this is a problem for the cia
That they don’t have enough africans in position to be agents what we need to do is make sure that we have the capabilities the expertise the individuals with perspectives and be able to bring those together and marry those perspectives so that we can provide those insights to our co to our
Consumers that’s what brennan said keywords right inclusion and diversity those are some that’s something that’s a reflection of our mission which is why we need to make sure that we have the opportunity as well as a capability to provide the president and other others the deep rich insights that are
Necessary in order to advance national security and so far the fund has supplied 250 million dollars in funding to publicly funded hbcus since its inception in 1987. so like i said since the 90s it has continued to grow what is the takeaway of this story whether it’s an hbcu whether it’s a
Divine nine fraternity or sorority whether it’s a black organization whatever it is that is created by your people for a specific purpose let’s just keep in mind that there is an active effort to find ways to co-opt those movements i have to remind people if you don’t know the crips and the
Bloods and this is a crazy crazy thing to bring up in this video to you but it isn’t to me because if you know the origins like many gangs in america they actually started out as of organizations that were community-based organizations the black guerrilla family same thing what happens is that there’s cooperation
And then you have a purpose being completely derailed for the imperialists now this might seem worlds away from what’s happening but it’s not really roads away because co-optation is cooperation if they can find a way in your organization to derail your purpose to make your purpose self-destruction
They will do it and this why is why we have to be very careful professionals i’m saying and i know this is a word that sounds elitist in itself because it has been made into an elitist an elitist category when you say professionals but people who enter into
Academia with this specific idea i want to be this i want to be that you have to be very careful about what you’re willing to do in order to be what you want to be are you willing to be a part of an agency that was literally created
To destroy your community are you willing to allow someone who has no love for your community to use you as the black face of that of of their initiatives in order to subvert any criticism this is what cold and power did very effectively these are the questions that we’re always going to
Be presented with and it doesn’t matter where you are throughout the african experience these things repeat over and over again as we said international actors how many times have you heard for example i was watching an interview recently where um someone was talking about a policy in a certain african
Nation and he says well as an african this this this this policy you know concerns me how many times have we heard people qualify themselves to to speak on something even if they’re speaking against our betterment how many times have you heard them mention their race or ethnicity as a way to qualify
Themselves to in order to speak on it how many times have you heard people say as an african i have a real a problem with you know what’s going on inside of this country and then you actually look at what’s going on you’re like well you know you probably shouldn’t have a
Problem but this is what they’re put there for they’re put there to be the mouthpiece of white supremacy and to con continue white hegemony and the narratives of white hedge and money that’s the important part and in this case the narrative that’s being spent about voting joe biden’s going to do something for
You even though we know he’s not that’s what’s being parroted unfortunately by some inside of the black fraternities and sororities so this is again is to say that we have to be very careful and we have to call to test people who do these things we have to call them out
And we have to make sure that we do not allow people to go in and out of our communities without having any type of of allegiance to our actual interests whenever you’re being used by the oppressor for their interest that has to be something that we prioritize
As far as getting you out of here as far as your welcome invitation in or out of our communities so that is all i have on this video i really do want to hear your thoughts what is your thoughts essentially on this cooperation of african institutions for the betterment
Of white supremacy again love to hear your thoughts and i’ll see you on the next video hey family this is terenie cherie i’m here to make an announcement that i’m very very excited to make i’m excited because i really think this is something that is important for our
People otherwise i would not have devoted so much time and energy towards it so i finished my first book and the book title is fostering false identity the child welfare system design of social control of the black family now why is this book something that i think
Will be very important for our community well number one is dealing with the system of white supremacy particularly the way that the system has targeted our children if you don’t know our children are literally our future without our children we have no future and so understand that the system is very
Crafty when figuring out what to derail first and to me it’s no mistake that the system particularly went after the black family if you look at what happened whenever we were enslaved by this system and continues to go against the black go after the black family continues to go
After black children continues to try to villainize african parents so for that i wanted to particularly talk about this subject now the other thing that this is that the book will deal with is our african identities why is it that our african identities are a threat to the
System why is it that whenever we want to identify ourselves as being african we get so much drawback inside of the black community i think a lot of us are not aware of the history of assimilationist thought inside of our community this idea that we have to be
Close to white in order to be accepted and so that’s another subject that we delve into in this book so i’m hoping that anyone who is obviously if you’re a parent a black parent and you really want to understand why it is that these systems are going after your children i
Encourage you to read this book i hope that it will arm you with a lot of knowledge and a lot of foresight not just about how to protect your own children but how to organize in your community because that’s really the purpose of the book is to say that we
Have to organize among ourselves in order to protect ourselves from this white supremacist system and then obviously if you’re an organizer in general this is something that i think is important for you to read because like i said it’s like this is a subject in a black community that we just don’t
Discuss enough um child welfare is not something that is going to get enough attention people obviously we organize them around other causes but this is one that is really important that i feel like we have to pay more attention to
