And I can say that this organization has taught me a lot about life networking and the importance of Doing Great Things my sister also pledged she’s a sigma gamma rho my nephew is an alpha he went the route of my dad and I met so many wonderful women over the
Years some I’m still friends with some I’m not anymore but that’s not the important thing that I took with me from pledging you know um being a part of a sorority is more than just about Sisterhood you know I have a sister so I never really needed that component but
It’s about the network I cannot tell you how many times I’ve received help with jobs with useful information that was not available to the general public with people who have helped me do certain things sorority sisters and this is me in Kuwait even Kuwait has a group of
Deltas who do lots of community service here in the gulf and there are groups in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and we are very prevalent here in the Middle East and my sorrows are focusing on what they always have community service scholarship and Sisterhood so I think it’s important to get
Involved in political groups that align with your values to get involved in community organizations if you’re still in college to get involved in exclusive clubs that require membership that require you to contribute something in order to be a member and I know a lot of people try to
Promote that the divine nine are evil organizations I mean this is a really weird Christian Perspective I am a believer I do not worship my sorority um I have not pledged my life to some cult I know some people may feel that it’s evil because there are aspects of Greek
Mythology that are entangled with you know Greek life but that’s just symbolism and see black folks always get it confused symbolism is symbolism what you believe is something totally different we pledge to be members for life there’s nothing wrong with that there’s nothing Wicked about that there’s nothing immoral about that now
Depending on who you get caught up with depending on what campus you’re on whether you do it undergrad or grad you know you might meet some evil women I’m I’m not going to deny that they might ask you to do things that you don’t want
To do and in that case you’ll have to decide if you want to participate or not I know for me I went through the regular process and I had no issues and it was all good for the most part so you know people are weird I think they’re jealous too you know they’re
Jealous that they can’t say they’re part of the divine nine and so their make up lies and all kinds of weird stuff and I know people have denounced their letters you know they’re all deep they’re deep and I don’t know what denouncing your letters does to bring
You closer to Jesus but you can make anything an idol and some people are very weird you know they do worship their sorority everywhere they go they Gotta Wear letters they gotta show and tell everybody I’m a Delta you know that’s not me I enjoy being a part of my sorority I
Love my sorority sisters I support most of the community service and the advocation for different groups in society who are vulnerable and disadvantaged however that doesn’t mean I agree with everything and for things that I don’t agree with I just don’t participate in it’s simple I’m my own person I’m Kim
I’m always going to do me no matter whose organization I’m a part of and I think the point of this video is when you’re a part of these Elite exclusive organizations it gets you around a group of women who are very powerful who can help you elevate in life it gets you
Into spaces with quality men who are educated who are doing good things you know who have been raised right mostly and it’s just a good thing so consider becoming a part of a group that can help you elevate that can take you into new interests new hobbies new passions new
Ways that you can contribute to the world in your community you have to get out of the General Public look you have to get into more Elite spaces that allow you to diversify the way you think about things and I repeat this does not have to be a
Sorority you could get involved in organizations that are related to Academia you can get involved in community organizations political organizations it doesn’t mean you have to share all the same beliefs but it can help you network
