On last week um I first and foremost want to honor the pastor of rain Church who um Pastor Vaughn who’s a spiritual father to me he passed away so we’ve been dealing with these things and um we just thank God for the men of God
That he he was in the lives that he touched and we are back this week because the Lord is about to move and I hope you guys are ready I want to introduce my co-host sister Jocelyn hi everyone and I want to introduce to you guys a very special guest
And her we she is a former AKA and now on fire for the Lord we introduce to you guys sister Maisha Reed how are you hi Cynthia I’m doing pretty good thank you for having me oh oh man I can’t wait I’m so excited I’ve never heard a testimony from
Someone who renounced a sorority of fraternity before so I’m really excited this is gonna be oh this is gonna be different so um yeah sister Maize if you if you would like to you can uh you can you can just go go right ahead into your testimony and tell us about
Yourself tell us tell us everything my name is Maisha uh I’m born and raised in Philadelphia I currently reside in Houston Texas um if you see me look back and forth I have about three monitors I’m a graphic designer so I got the screens up so I
Can kind of look at my notes some different things I wrote down um so I am here to share this is actually uh funny enough today’s June 29th two years ago three days ago um I had denounced Alpha Kappa Alpha sort of Incorporated but privately with my
Exline sisters um when I was looking at my notes um I was like Wow look I always tell people when God bring things full circle you know what’s about to be lit um so I’m super excited for um God just allowed me the opportunity to be here
Um to share my testimony it is one that is um definitely on time um I believe that God in this hour is bringing so much exposure um not just to the body of Christ but to um idol worship uh Baal worship anything that has exalted itself against the
Knowledge of who Christ is is is coming down so I’m glad to be among the people among the remnant um so I’ll just kind of get right into it um I do pray that everyone who watches everyone who comes across this video that you have opened
Ears open eyes to hear and see what the spirit of the Lord is saying um to you specifically because it is something that is uh long overdue um so in I went to HBCU historically historically black college historic black College University uh in North Carolina uh the Elizabeth City State University and um
I never knew anything about Greek life I never knew what Greek life was never heard the term I’m from the hood okay West Philadelphia born and raised literally okay uh and so I’ve never heard of anything Greek life I think the only thing close to it I’ve
Seen I don’t remember the title of the movie but um I think Spike Lee was in it um they had like the dancing with the college parties and stuff like that school days yes that’s the only thing I can kind of uh relate to as it you know that may relate to
Um the whole sorority fraternity life um and undergrad I was very involved I was in every climate organization Student Government Student Activities Committee I’ve always been that kind of person since I was younger funny enough my mom actually sent me a picture of me when I was six years old
And it was a class picture you know how they got the class picture with the black the black uh thing with the white letters I was literally the student in the middle holding a sign up like this [Laughter] um so I’ve always been that person super involved um so on on campus
When I first encountered um fraternity just fraternities or sororities um I was a freshman um there was an alpha probate and this Alpha probate was something I had never ever ever seen before uh we were in like Williams Hall Gym um there was like very dark it was it
Was like one of those you got like two gyms the high-tech one and the one that’s kind of like the Hood gym you know um so it wasn’t that many lights and so as this probate is happening um The Outfits they had on like these white straight jackets that you tie
Around as if you were a mental ward it was like spray painted with spray paint um and I was intrigued by the fact I’m like what is this it was so many people crying and and excited and so um back then I was like learning about
Photography love to take photos so I had my little digital camera the ones that you actually snapped and they flash I had one of those Sony digital cameras and I took over 300 photos of this probate had never seen anything like it and I thought to myself well
Maybe I could take these photos because some of these people came from far and wide so many people not even from North Carolina so they may need um I like to be I mean a guy send me a message um so they people was on the campus and
They had traveled far and wide or they were students from other states and so I was like well I can give them these photos later so I took a lot of photos or whatever um that’s kind of how I got cool with the outfits and then I was doing graphic design back then
Um so I just became that person that just knew everybody um my academic Mentor was an AKA um the first influential person on the yard that I encountered was an AKA um and so the influence was like wow these women are great these women are some they they have high standards you know
Um being an African-American woman from Philadelphia I was coming to events you know grow you know I was very um wise um in my Scholastics always made straight A so when I looked at these people outwardly it was like oh wow this is this is cool
Never wanted to be an AKA though it was just like these are the people that impacted me and so I think I went to Atlanta and the person who was um an AKA that was also like an influence she also was Miss Elizabeth City State University
I was on student government I was Miss freshman I had one and I traveled with them and so again she was the AKA um so that was like the only influence I wouldn’t even use the word influence that was my only exposure to aka’s who had some type of sense because they all
Don’t have sense not not all of them um and so After Time had went on I think at that time the akas were suspended or yeah they were like uh what is it suspended or um terminated on the yard if you will and to those who don’t know what that
Means it just means that if you get caught Hazen beating somebody up or degrading a person and you get caught the regional directors or those who are higher up they will um dissolve your chapter they will um terminate your chapter dig up the plots whatever they got to do to show
You that you know you’re in trouble so at that point there was a a line um that had split some pledge some didn’t some were active some weren’t um and so by 2008 I think I was a sophomore so they had a new line come 2009 I think the aka’s kind of dissolved
Naturally just wasn’t on the yard or the chapter wasn’t as active um I think around 2009 I was Desiring to um become an AKA like the process had came my mentor was like oh they’re having like a line and on the yard when and I want to say this the one one the
One deception or I’m not I might not be saying that right the one thing that is so deceptive about these organizations is them telling you that you have to be super secretive you need to be discreet you know you need to watch what you say and so me
Sharing all of this is like letting the cat out the bag so I just want the people to know like ain’t nothing ain’t no secrets in God he said how he looked low the Bible says he sit upon the circle of the earth and he judges justly so can nobody keep no
Secrets from God because whatever you do in the dark is going to get exposed in the light and baby I’m free in Christ and light exposed Darkness so if you hide in the dark hello somebody I’m in the room so um literally when there was a line that
Was going to start I remember they they have like what they’ll do is they won’t tell you that there’s an interest in me and they might post like a a flyer random places on a yard so if you catch it you catch it but you can’t
Necessarily take a photo of what you see because somebody might see you taking a photo and then you get caught that you’re trying to pledge or or be online so it was just a whole bunch of mental garbage um so usually you might see that they
They have in a line you might text five or six people like hey oh my God I saw the interest meeting flyer you know and so now becomes this thing rumors are spreading um but around this time I was in uh Student Government I was the corresponding secretary
Um for SGA have been active and social in all the Social Clubs up to that point by then I was first myself when I was a junior I believe yeah and so or a sophomore junior and so literally I remember being in the student government office I had
To had to spend about 20 hours in office doing websites doing all the secretary stuff and um I had not really told nobody that I wanted to become an AKA or nothing like that but this particular day I was in the student government office and I left
After 5 p.m shut all the things down and I had got a call back from the social I’m not even saying this right it’s been so long since I’ve been in college um from the guy the person who’s over Student Activities like the the person who’s like the I don’t even
Know what to call it but it was a guy who was over Student Government but like the the person isn’t trying to sign in all the papers if you will he called me back to the office and he was like hey um I want to show you something so he pulls he
Bring me to his office I said well I just left you know I did all I needed to do what’s up he said I wanted to show you an email so um he’s told me to read the email he’s like is this your email address I say
Yes like my asia.read ecsu.edu like this College email and I’m just kind of getting nervous because I’m like what is he doing so he told me to look at the screen and there’s a letter um that pretty much stated and I’m not saying it verbatim but paraphrase if you
Will hi my name is Reed um I just wanted to uh put this you know put this before you that I’ve been getting hazed um by these people and it was literally like a list of people’s names their names first and last name their addresses their actual phone numbers
Their email addresses any way that you can reach these people it was on this paper and it was addressed to the region director of Alpha Kappa Office Word Incorporated and I was looking like well this is interesting because I’m not on nobody’s line nobody know I want to be
An AKA and this is messy because I the people that was in this letter I was like not close to but again I was I was very um social with everybody on the campus so it was kind of weird and initially I let him know that it was my
Email and so he ended up playing the voicemail from the regional director of that was over that that Hub in North Carolina Virginia um if you will and she left a voice note and she said she needed us to call her back because if I didn’t and they investigated this
I’ll be blacklisted for me coming to AKA and so this is the techie side of me I have a bachelor’s degree in computer science I’m very well educated in that field um don’t work in that field anymore but at that particular time The Brainiac to me was like oh I’m about
To go to the IP office the IP administration building I’m about to see what the IP address is I’m about to go to the it building see what the IP address is to where this email came from because that’s not my email what I realized was after being in
A State of Shock was that they used the majority of my email but there was like a DOT there so it looked like it was my email but I was so overwhelmed I’m like this is kind of weird and I didn’t want the people who were in this letter to
Be um terminated because the line at the time or the people that came before in in that particular year um once you got terminated that was it you wasn’t so it was like I was apparently ruining their reputation and they whoever did was trying to ruin mine
So I was like well maybe it was somebody who wanted to be an AKA um I was like why would somebody do that to me to try to sabotage who I am and so I was like looking up to see where this email came from couldn’t figure it out couldn’t find out still
Don’t know to the day who did it hindsight now we are in 2022 that was in 2009 I realized that was God’s way however deceitful the person was that was God’s way to shut the door for me to become an AKA but in my rejection Spirit
Of Rejection don’t take no for an answer baby you’re not gonna tell me no because I’m about to make sure that I get what I want and so at that point nothing had went through they couldn’t prove that it was me so boom but in Spring 2010
They had another process and so that’s kind of where I became an AKA so I wanted to give that backstory because sometimes when I realized is a lot of people will say when they hear a testimony like this oh you know everyone out when they was
Trying to do a line on the yard you know I was wondering why somehow that particular year the the chapter was dissolved but then after I left they came back people don’t know that God and His Infinite Wisdom would do anything he will move anything to ensure that he
Take care of his children so people may be like oh well I thought it was my time like I ain’t never going to be in them and God’s like no that’s not my will for you that’s not my good please and perfect world for you that’s
A permissible will yes and so I realize now and I had to repent to God like Lord I repent you know of operating in the Spirit of Rejection I didn’t know back then I wasn’t in Christ I mean I was one footed one foot out thought and bopping all
That kind of stuff so I I didn’t know that um but in wisdom um and I was what 19 20 years old who who’s thinking about God at that at the age you know we’re going to Dollar parties we we doing a bunch of stuff
Um so fast forward uh when it was time to become an AKA um the process that they have way back when is not the same today like the pledging the three four a.m’s in the morning that wasn’t something that I endured and I tell people they tell you
That you need to pay for all you pledge or they say oh well you was paper that’s why you denouncing or that’s why you trying to expose AKA because you ain’t over AKA you ain’t no real you ain’t got no real process woe to all of y’all cause y’all just y’all just deceived
Okay um so when it was time to become an AKA I remember me and a few other people were in our like um our dorms and we all had got individual phone calls like two three minutes after each other but the way that they did it you was always on
Pins and needles trying to figure out if they was going to call you if they wasn’t going to call you you know and around the time they were trying to put a line on you couldn’t be seen with people that was interested just like you because they was watching everything
They made you feel like they were watching you all the time right it was a sense of fear that they were trying to instill in you um whether you can’t walk on the grass you know you can’t wear wear Pearl earrings when you online you can’t wear
Certain colors pink and green you know all these different things they instill and so I just remember um being the eyeball out on the line if you will and at that particular time you know people never had reasons for why they didn’t like me but it was weird because
You got 31 people who were on the sign traveling together trying to do these different things in secret and anytime they heard a rumor on the campus on the yard it was like oh my age did it my age is gonna be the reason why y’all in
Probate right it’s gonna be the reason why this is this so I always felt that rejection and everything that I did but again the rejection in me was like nope I don’t care what none of y’all say I’m still gonna be AKA I never took those in
Signs to like Drop because you know pride and you know people pleasing you don’t want to feel like you’re the one that’s leaving or dropping the line if you will um I know when I was talking to one of my ex-line sisters um some stuff I actually don’t remember
Doing an initiation process but when I was talking to her when she started speaking I’m like oh snaps that did happen whether it be um bowing down at this table you got these ivy leaves and these pearls you got these pictures of these dead Founders on this table and I’ll get into
That but just for the sake of just saying like there was so much that was happening um at that particular time two years ago June 26 2020 I reached out to my ex-line sisters and I wrote them a Facebook message because we had a Facebook chat I want to read a little
Bit of it um because I’m a very open honest person I don’t have nothing to hide um and so literally during this time I wrote them a Facebook message and it June 26 2020 at 9 54 am um I said the purpose of my message in
This way is to share some changes in my life that have taken place God is truly amazing and in the business of restoring our faith and our souls and our minds and hearts to him as we yield to the Holy Spirit Desiring to transform our Our Lives I made
I myself have been going through that process as I answered to the call of God on my life in this season as I have been on this journey in the fullness of God spiritually one of the things God brought to my attention was honor and reverence
Um and how my devotion has to be on him 100 and that I am okay and and that I’m like okay cool God I get it but as I continue to consecrate myself and seek Him and hear his instructions he began to reveal to me things in my character that had become a
Part of my soul that needed to die that’s a process in itself and I’m sure we all can relate to things that we have tried to work work on but can seem to shake it but his word says some things only come out by fasting and praying
A few things I’ve written down and I needed to rip myself of was was these Spirit of Pride then conceit double-mindedness self-sabotage selfishness lying dissensions infections idolizing judgment and so many more to name a few as I further sought God and prayed asking what the root of these
Things were that I needed to be healed or delivered from he began to give me dreams about college and how when I first came to school I was who I was very different very set apart never conforming to the patterns of this world and still trying to find
Myself and just having that desire to belong and build friendship and Community even family that rejection I was inspired by many and some just left an impression on me in many ways the Holy Spirit spoke to me and told me that part of the things that needed to
Die in my seats in that particular season are the very things that I picked up and agreed to in college by way of AKA I was taken aback but not surprised God says that a child that God says what child would ask him for a fish and you get a snake
Though we are evil in nature how much more will our Father in heaven give us if if we ask so in me praying to ask God to show me the origin or the root of the things that I needed to rip my agent of he told me and literally after a weight
Lift off of my shoulders as the Holy Spirit led me to read the rituals of the book the ritual book of AKA and literally begin to show me where in scripture things were added or taken away so there’s many scriptures in the ritual book where God’s name is removed
And aka’s name is put directly in that space so one of the scriptures and I’ll read it when I get to that point it says um God says love love the Lord with all your heart your mind your soul your strength right the Commandment love your neighbor as
Yourself and so literally one of the rituals and aka’s um love AKA with all your heart mind and soul and strength um so God’s name was taken out AKA was replaced the kneeling and the Bowing down the Oaths and the vows said and agreed to is so much more again I’m
Sharing my process to rip myself of things that have hindered me in my process to answer the call of God in my life and what he showed me um the oath of the organization played a big part in becoming someone that he never destined for me to be before I was
Created in my mother’s womb with that being said I’ve decided to denounce my Association and connection to Alpha Kappa office were Incorporated out of love and respect I wanted to make sure I let you all know first because at some point I’m going to release God’s Gonna
Release me to share publicly my journey to freedom and so that’s part of it and I also went into detail about how some of y’all fake some of y’all don’t don’t mess with me some of y’all don’t don’t like me for whatever reasons I don’t
Know but but thank you you know I just kind of put it all out there and I was like y’all got questions hit me up some of them hit me up was like wow I’m encouraged by your boldness and different things like that um but I did that because at the end of
The day though we all are on different Journeys because people make excuses and be like oh well you know that’s just your journey like I’m Christian God still love me you know or they just make all these different excuses and I’m just like y’all don’t understand that
It’s not about I’m deeper than you or I’m judging you at the end of the day if you call yourself a Christian you gonna get judged because according to my faith the Bible says you judge lest you be judged with the same judgment so I have to be a
Christian in order to judge another Christian and the way that that’s that judgment that’s coming and so people may say um you know oh well I I’m not as active as I was in undergrad so it was fine but when you understand demonic Covenants and curses
Just how you marry a person in the physical with that marriage license in the spirit room you’re married to them as well so you can get married to a person and struggle with things literally and you don’t even know this because you are spiritually married to the person things that’s going on their
Bloodline you’re effective Because Two Become One you know so in that regard you are you are married um it’s a few different arguments and I’m just sharing this because I’m just led to a few different arguments people would say in regards to them them not like disassociating with the organizations
Um they say my pastor is you know in the black Greek organizations so you telling me that he that my past is wrong like how can how can my pastor be wrong when he he pledged you know um and so literally in Exodus 32 1-23 Aaron was the first high priest in
Israel and was extremely influential in the ancient Hebrew culture Aaron gained a name for being extremely eloquent in speech so much so that he was a spokesman for God when um Moses was to go to pharaoh to demand their release for the children of Israel interesting enough Aaron the high priest was an
Anointed man um and literally deliberately LED Israel into absolute idolatry so though he was a spokesman of God he still there was deception the enemy’s very deceptive I think about how in um the Book of Genesis where we know this story where the serpent deceived Eve but
The one thing that stood out was when he talked about um wisdom he talked about how you know you you can be wise you know you can know the things that are good and the things that are evil and when I think about like wisdom and all these Greek letter organizations
They talk about becoming wise and their rituals it references that you can become wise literally um I all of them Iota Sigma Kappa Delta Alpha Omega literally but the Devil comes to lead the people astray and so we can’t be so ignorant to the point that we believe that like nothing’s gonna happen
Um so let me see here I just want to State the fact that like people like oh you know you Christian but I’m a Christian too technically we’re Disciples of Jesus we’re students of Jesus Christ Christian we know is only reference in the Bible in the New Testament three times for the
Sake of just identifying the people that they were Christians being a disciple is the function being a Christian is just the name like there is no weight that a Christian should carry your your fruit is what you carry right and so literally if we’re talking about like oh well I’m a
Christian and you know you’re a Christian and like you’re not you’re not better than me but we should be literally testing everything that we do and I tell people when we were in college we didn’t do research nobody was Googling anything like if you knew somebody you took their
Word for it but that’s the that’s the patterns of the world when you have wisdom and all that getting get an understanding here it is what 12 13 years later way more wiser when I was in in that room bowing down before in that dark room literally I remember when the
Lights went on we looking at each other like what’s happening right now it was like a shock because they didn’t freak and foretell you this was going to happen but in the midst of it you felt like wait well I’m not about to be the one to
Get up and leave out this room because they’ll say it like oh if anybody disagrees you know you may remove yourself oh about to get up and do that literally so all right let me go back to the story so we get um get on like online when we
When we was in the initiation room um I remember there were like AKA standing around us like in the circle and we were bowed down like on our knees um when you take your test it’s like general information but the general information that you read on that test is so different from
The actual ritual you book book you get when you become an actual AKA so we didn’t know what the actual rituals were was and full until after the fact so there’s deception there and so literally um one of the things that is in the ritual book for instance
Um let’s see uh during the initiation process Canada is new and take a number take the number of pledges or the people everybody who’s online take a take about um page 32 in the in the book and it may vary depending on what year you have
When they arise and Ivy wreath is placed on the candidate’s head and The Candle is lit as they are informed by the bacillus which is the president may you so this is what they’re saying may you always remember that you are not only joining with individuals but you
Are uniting with the Alpha Kappa Alpha so in that particular stance we’re supposed to be uniting with God Psalms 86 10-12 States for you God are great and you do wonders Deeds you alone are God teach me your way O Lord I will walk in your truth unite My Heart To
Fear your name and I will give thanks to You O Lord my God with all my heart and I will glorify your name forever God wants us to be United to him and him alone not any organization right um page 39 of the virtual book is the
AKA pledge to thee Oh Alpha care for Alpha we pledge our hearts our minds our strength to Foster teaching obey the laws and make the Supreme in service to all mankind oh Alpha Kappa Alpha we greet thee who is thee and where they at
All page five I think I should I think I shall never know another love that throws me so and the funny thing about all of this is these are chants these are rituals every other line is wrong monkey see monkey do like literally I think I should never know another look
That throws me so dwells in My Heart by day by night as does my love for AKA I think that I need never fear we’re hearts are loyal true and dear secure I am at work at play of such as are these the AKA I
Think when I sh when I shall come to die there will be no need of fear or sigh for if I’ve been in AKA life owes me nothing I’ve lived my day okay page 58. oh Alpha Kappa Alpha we dedicate our hearts to the Greater Love Of Thee page 28.
They tell you to repeat after me I show my submission by kneeling candidates Neil for a few minutes but in absolute silence you can’t make any noise Dead Silence how can we do this by dedicating and pledging our hearts and uniting with the organization essentially God and AKA are
Asking the same thing God wants our heart mind and soul and so do AKA so it’s literally like when he says choose his day who you will serve that’s literally what’s happening and then the AKA initial hymn hell Alpha Kappa Alpha deer we greet you here tonight
And made this Noble Sisterhood be always our delight and made this Noble Sisterhood always be our Delight we love our motto good and true and strive to do what’s right Bob Mary and by culture will climb to Glorious Heights we when care of Life overtakes us and our locks
Are turning gray we’ll always reverence AKA forever in a day and you say that four times there’s a lot of repetition in these rituals and so literally like we didn’t know spiritually what was happening so how big that when you desire to grow closer to God he starts to reveal to you
Every item in your life because the thing about it was people always say like oh um AKA ain’t make me I make AKA but literally people like I’m AKA made like you become a whole different person you become prideful um I remember just being kind of like
Very very down to earth and you know cool with everybody and then they tell people they Judy is goddamn individuals is what they say like if you’re not in a Greek organization that’s what you consider anybody else um and you just got this snout you know
You hit hell High everything is you know all this you know and so literally um God just began to reveal those things so what’s interesting enough about the initiation process is one it was like a weekend when you got initiated we had to wear all black
Everybody had to have on the same kind of clothes you had to find the same shoes like everything was like the same all black everything so there was one initiation process and you had to leave and go change and put on all white so you went from pretty much Darkness to light
That was like the act of what you were doing um and so we did that I just remembered even with the probate you wear masks you gotta like um kind of March from one side of the campus to the other side told her in bunions thrusting
I mean all kind of weird stuff you know um and that’s the show the probate is the coming out show um and again people make things like ain’t nothing wrong with this like it’s fine but it’s it’s actually not fine um because at the end of the day
God is the only one and true Living God and these are secret societies um Hosea 4 6 says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge um and at the end of the day we’re sharing the truth of God in order to help other people understand um that being in these organizations if
You know their whole goal is to lead them to repentance and restore them back to Christ because people say oh well you know I I’m I got influence you know when you got AKA on your resume I can go somewhere they might hire me you know it’s like that’s a worldly perspective
Of of of um have an influence like because at the end of the day the roots are are come from Freemasonry like you can you can run a red light you know and and be amazing and they look they look at your tags and be like okay you good you know
I was like you you got this this this this one foot in the door but the Bible says uh um any God will open doors and close doors I’m paraphrasing the scripture um but God will open doors no man can shut right so they get you they make you
Feel like you got all these perks um more recently a couple months ago I had sent my letter a withdrawal in and literally I posted about this on Facebook the lady was like um I was like I’ve been trying to get in touch with you for two months she said oh your
Letter probably somewhere in that drawer we don’t focus on that because if you find if you’re not financially active you know that’s not our concern we’re concerned about the people who paying their money she literally said that to me the person that’s over the membership they really don’t care about you
Um another lady uh she’s a vendor for like the AKA conferences and stuff she was making so much money with the vendor’s license selling AKA stuff they gave her a proposal to take her business and told her we can take care of it ourselves and literally told her that if they take
Her business she can’t talk about nothing concerning AKA she declined it but she’s so caught up in and and and being connected to the this AKA stuff the lady the president of the the chapter or the organization literally promised her all this stuff we’re gonna give you this kind of money like the
Devil we’re gonna do this we’re gonna do that and literally didn’t follow through with nothing lady lost her business and this lady been in AKA for over 25 years it had become her life and the thing was her mom gave her the name like little pretty girl or something like that and
She trademarked it got all the paperwork done and was making boo cool bucks but AKA wanted that name so they can get all the money that she was getting it’s a business it’s a whole business these organizations are secret societies literally ritual by definition is religious or Asylum Asylum ceremony
Consisting of a series of actions performed according to prescribe order most mostly all ceremonies involve a dark room lighting candles kneeling down on a pillow or something else as a constructed altar there can be Hazen as a Rite of Passage to prove the man and woman is worthy of
Being in the organization not every organization participates in hate in Hazen but many do The Hazing can include beating including with wood panels I actually have a paddle and it’s crazy because when I got the panel as a gift right after I got the pet it was just it

God you know and so it’s it’s so easy especially down south maybe that they’ll just be in the church you know and just don’t just doing whatever and it’s allowed it’s like nobody is convicted by it I actually um was it last week um I had reposted a story about two
