Vivian Henderson. [Interviewer] And Vivian, you went to William & Mary correct? [Vivian] I did. [Interviewer] And what year did you graduate? [Vivian] 1992. I remember because the community was so small, it was, didn’t take long to meet
The AKAs, the Deltas, and the Zetas because they were the only ones on the on the yard at the time, and I just want to be clear that I value, I commend and exalt every divine nine organization.
This is purely how my choice led me to Zeta. So I’ve never been a clone of anybody, you know, I’ve had, I was “me phi me”, you know, so I was not attracted to anything that looked like that so if I looked on the surface at an organization or a group,
And everybody looked the same, everybody acted the same, that was a turn-off to me because then I wondered if I’d have the freedom to be me, right, and so when I had the opportunity to see
These women, because at this time, I still didn’t know who they were. One was the director of Ebony Expressions which was the gospel choir, and she was the director and musician for it, and there were literally like, choir rehearsal was the place like where all the black students almost were
Would be at, at choir rehearsal. And I started realizing that a number of the people in there who exhibited character traits that I found attractive, all seemed to be together in this blue and white group that I had no idea who they were.
