YouTube I am back with another sorority video this time talking about things that you should never say to your membership chair beat a candidate or a new member these are things that you never want to say to your profile especially in your membership chair when you’re looking to join a sorority so
Let’s get into it first thing when X Y you want to join a sorority never say I’ve always wondered doing your sorority why why would you never want to say that because it makes you appear way way way too eager and you’ve now set a target on
Your back for them to be like what makes her think she can be able to begin with and they’re already looking at you so never never tell them that you always want to be a member just say that you’ve expressed interest and you would like to know more about the organization but
Never never declare out loud that you always want to be a part of the sorority especially if you’ve never done research or if you haven’t done enough research to know for sure that’s the organization that you want to join you want to wait until you’re more comfortable with the
Sorority more comfortable with members forever expressing such a declaration out loud you can keep saying it to yourself all you want but never say it out loud because then they’re gonna place a target on your back and they’re going to be forever watching you second
Thing that you never want to say is I just want to join us in a second step they’re gonna say this is that thing and not anything worse well you can join the step team over there at that organization you can’t sit with us never
Ever ever say that you want to join a sorority just for the extracurricular activities you can do extracurricular activities anywhere stepping and strolling those things are fun but those are not the fundamentals or the foundation of being in a sorority to begin with so if that’s your reason for
Joining you might want to do more research and evaluate something else that you want to join because that is not what sorority life especially divine 9 that’s not what we’re about same thing goes for people who say they don’t want to stroll in a sorority you never want to tell your prophytes
Something that you don’t want to do or you’re not comfortable doing because where they gonna do they’re going to make you do it a lot of times they’ll make you do it once to be like don’t ever say that you don’t want to do something to to help you build your
Confidence so they’re going to push you out of your comfort zone and make you things that you necessarily did not do before kissing point when I was in my sorority and undergrad I wasn’t a step master I didn’t even know what step that was not anything that I thought that I
Would ever have to do when I joined a sorority because I thought there would be other people who would do that no as soon as my prophytes left I had to be the step master and the last thing they said was Kelsey you know you’re gonna have to create these steps I say
No there’s no point never say you’re not comfortable doing something because they’re going to make you do it anyway so just just do it or later on down the road when you’re more comfortable and you’re in the chapter you could be like hey strolling isn’t really my strong suit
What else can I do to contribute to this chapter and then go from there but never never off the bat say you don’t want to do something that is of that nature never say that last two things that I hate I hate I hate to be told is when I
Asked someone why they want to join a sorority they always say this famous line every time why do you enjoy it already if you find something greater than myself in my opinion you can be part of something greater in a service fraternity or a service sorority you
Could do that anywhere like you don’t have to be a part of a sorority to be a part of something greater than yourself you can join anything to do that you can join the Peace Corps in order to do that so try to find something more original
To say other than that particular phrase when someone ask you why you want to join their sorority never ever ever say that never last thing that I absolutely hate that you should never say to your your membership chair ever since your profile is when they ask you how much
Time you can dedicate to the organization this is usually during your interview process or doing your so some part during some part of your intake process they’ll ask you how much how much time can you dedicate to the sorority a lot of people will say and they ended up biting themselves in the
Butt after they say this is they’ll say oh me being the person that I am I will write that down you said mm-hmm all your time all your time all of your time you’re not not including work that includes school school doesn’t matter okay of your time all right so later on
In life when I’m in chapter and I ask you to do it a bit on a Saturday or a Sunday and you tell me no I’m gonna pull out that sheet that I broke down on that day we met you the X how much time can you dedicate to the sorority and you
Said all your time see there see that right there you said all of your time I’m gonna use that against you and a lot of people will do that so just be careful of the words that come out of your mouth when people ask you certain questions like how much time can you
Dedicate to this Rory be honest get a number give give something but don’t say that you can dedicate all your time well you know for a fact that you cannot dedicate all your time tell them well I do have some obligations between school and working my part-time job but if I’m
Told and it that’s what the event is I will try to make time for it or I will do my best to make sure that I’m there and if I can’t be there then I can do this like be honest but don’t ever say that you can do something that you know
That you’re not going to commit to never make a commitment about anything that you’re unsure of or anything that is not sure in the future just be mindful of that but that is my basic advice of things that you should never ever ever say to your membership
