I’m very much proud to actually have a space here. First off I would like to thank everyone for coming to such a momentous occasion today. So today we have the official groundbreaking ceremony for the Wright State NPHC plot project today we had all nine National Panhellenic Organization
Members here today. These plots are here to not only recognize the history of these organizations but provide a gathering space and and a celebration area for both current and past members of these organizations. So this is a big day because Wright State is believed to be one
Of them the first predominantly white public universities in the State of Ohio to actually create such a plot and the plaza is designed to represent the National Panel Hellenic Council as the umbrella group of which the Divine Nine or the historically black greek letter organizations
Sit underneath. Just toss it into the grass. There you go. We were super excited we worked closely with the university architects in the administration to decide on the best location and we all kind of came to a consensus that this was a nice
Spot on campus it gave us great visibility but also provides a nice walled off area for respect. It’s a strong form of symbolism and commitment to diversity and to their commitment that they make to black students here on campus. My goal isn’t to stay here at Wright State University
Forever but my goal is to create something that will serve its purpose here at Wright State. So even though we are getting NPHC plots we need to continue the purpose of our nine organizations mission and purpose our founders never just stopped when their organization was
Founded they still had something to prove and we need to prove to the future of NPHC and Wright State University that we will always be here we’ll always have a place here and we will always have a safe place and a sense of community here for our black and brown students thank you.
