Is not Greek I probably wouldn’t take that advice however it can get a little tricky depending on the organization the campus the chapter how the girls are that sort of thing so that’s why this version is made so important is because you know you can’t just tell everybody you know your next
Move because some people ain’t really trying to help you out but like I said it depends so at my school it’s like a big thing everybody’s like tell nobody don’t say nothing but to me comments implies I was like how it was – no I’m saying
You know so I’m not impressed I said I hope somebody a member of Lords dictionary decoder but I didn’t tell her after that I kind of I kind of waited a couple years and got to know the girls and be around them and see which ones
Were like you know cool friendly that I didn’t think we’re going to like come at me sideways for expressing interest but I didn’t ever not in what I see why it yells I’m trying to get down like I think there is always a ways to say things I do think that eventually you’re

I let the girl know I definitely wouldn’t text it if you know the person uncomfortable with engine you know but I was flat out to be like yes I’m interested in your organization like I’m trying to get down I think I kind of phrasing kind of like um how’s the
Second thing that she said kinda like just saying like oh I’ve been doing research about organizations and I would love to learn more about yours your set out to me or that that’s kind of how I wrote it it just was two years ago y’all but I’m
Pretty sure that’s kind of how I did it please that’s my best advice but like I said that go either way like that could be a hit or miss you just gotta be careful with that as you just don’t know so if you do approach somebody with that
Approach the right person you just never know um the next question someone said I get very emotional when I talk about things I’m a passionate I am passionate about it for instance during the interview I start to cry is that a bad look and what should a person expect if
They end up being children a call or email okay so one thing that it’s really important to remember and understand is that these girls are that demigod they’re not superhuman the only difference between them and you is letters on their chest they were what’s in your position at some point so if
They judge you for having a very human moment and being emotional about something you’re passionate about because I know for me I get emotional talking about my family some of the questions are just an important part to who I am so a lot of times when people ask me
Questions it kind of goes back to my family specifically talking on my little brother who have autism you know I get really like emotional or choked up about that and I feel like it’s a group of girls who will hold that against you that you were emotional you had a human
Moment why you want to part out anyway you don’t I would say be you and if they don’t accept you for that then that’s probably what it meant to you like that wouldn’t even make them real systems because when you were remember if you were emotional like that they wouldn’t
Even be there for you like so but I’ve been in interviews where people have cried talking about hard things that are lots of things that they’re passionate about it to me I’m an emotional person so I said like oh my heart like the feels and we you know I’ve given a
Person a hug thanks for sharing you know so I already know that if something is really passionate to you that means that you need to share it so they can know the review and as far as what you should expect if you make it that also depends you should absolutely expect a
Unofficial letter in the mail on anything others that other than that is not sanctioned that is some underground stuff so expect mail but be prepared for anything okay um somebody as is it appropriate to ask for a recommendation letter from a member of the same organization I’m
Interested in is it appropriate to talk to her by my interest even though the most likely would not be in the same chapter um I think so um it just depends on your relationship with the person I think it’s absolutely appropriate to get a letter from person
If you know them and they can vouch for you and you know a character witness for you like they’ve known you for a good amount of time they got good things to say about you absolutely ain’t no shame in that game get you a letter girl um especially during on the same chapter
Because I think if they’re in same chapter you can’t get a letter from them that’s a conflict of interest oh and as far as talking to them about your interest I mean they’re not the same chapters so I don’t know there just depends on your relationship like it couldn’t hurt
I definitely communicated with a older soror before I became a sewer I am turn for judge and obviously that’s why I chose the internship on one because I’m interested in becoming a judge but also because chooses ADA and I was like let me just internship for her
So I could get real comfortable you know maybe get a letter and she’s actually one of the graduate advisors for my chapter um but yeah I just got to know her and I was like I was I didn’t even like to tell her I’m interested I just kind of went around
Her and she ended up asking me she ended up you know she saw something in me so she was just like have you ever been interested in a sorority like it was real sleep about it and I’m sorry maybe like you should play coy and then
Eventually I just let her know like yeah I’m interested in becoming a data and she was like yeah I could see that you know and she’s very supportive she even spotted me she helped me towards my my initial dues so I think that it’s cool if you have someone that’s in that
Organization that can mentor you and talk to you and give you some advice especially if you’re still like trying to figure out what you want to do it would be nice to meet somebody who’s bit of that organization Stevens and ask them some questions and stuff like that
So you can kind of get us a better answer for things to people who’ve been in there I’m a baby I’m considered a baby in my organization two years I’m baby but you know people who’ve been to organizations ten plus years and things like that they have so much to offer explain
I was so much advice to give and mentorship so I would definitely say so forth nothing no problems with that I’m someone else I I was always curious about when they perform at Roloff how do they have matching outfits like they all go out of the day and go look for things
Or do they worry there’s too many people in a chapter to be going out shopping and a shopping spree together just sometimes like if it’s just your rhyme like me my line and we want to go get something back and we could go shopping zone eight of us but the chapter which
Is 20 plus you know we order things off of line on basically we just we have someone who’s in charge of finding t-shirts for events or a committee and they find different ones and they give us these options in our like group chat and we all vote on which one we like
Then they still the price we all select our sizes she ordered them and then they get delivered to her and she just dropped them off to everybody where everybody comes to pick them up and we all have matching outfits that’s pretty much how we do it someone
Also out or any other cops will any other colleges come down and pledge [Applause] okay so um that was a tricky one um I first wanted to say that pledging is illegal but this person pledged a long time ago where where he could say things like that it’s good so I can’t
Say things like that but you can say stuff like that so anyway um to answer your question that depends on the chapter the region the organization all that stuff and also like certain things I feel like thirty things you kind of want to find out like it ruins the whole
Beauty of going through intake or you know finding out things through your whole process or whatever um if I tell you or if somebody tells you what’s gonna happen like the whole point is surprised to learn the experience so you’ll find out when you go through insane though so that’s sans necklace
The next question is what kind of reservation are with what kind of resume should be brought to the interview is the same one that I would bring to a job interview which is the objective quote-unquote I am seeking a position to utilize XYZ skills change um your objectives should always change
Depending on what you are using your resume for I’ve previously posted out before but I have two new resumes I have an academic resume and then I have a career resume so for the sorority I will use my academic resume because it needs to say things that are relevant to
The sorority where I work my past employment is not always relevant but what is it what is relevant is my scholarships my awards my extracurriculars my grave my my leadership roles and my community service so those are things that will go on your academic scholarship your academic resume so that will make it
Different from your work resume and the objective should absolutely change because you should personalize the objective when you send it to you know the stupid situation which is to meet membership into such a such as YC story yes jealousy’s we also have could someone join a sorority their senior
Year or is it too late um absolutely you could join your senior year one of my life is to join our senior year and you know I would say it’s a little bit harder because you’re preparing to graduate there’s finances that you have to save
Up and things like that I’m a does cost money to join a sorority it is a business and it’s a little steep but because of that I would say it’s a little bit more difficult so if you want to have like some finances set up because at that point when you’re senior
You’re trying to graduate you’re going to grad school there’s a number back or you’re going to you know start your career your life you want to move to a new state or whatever so you got to say good for that so money-wise they can be
A little bit difficult on as far as is being busy I was just trying to get all your credits two things out the way they can be difficult unless you were on track off four years and five time your few years you are EVP be taking ten
Credits or something like that but now it’s not the way you can do it it does happen um the next question is I know that you have to do your research and you have to show interest without showing interest but I guess my question for you is how
Do I go about finding out about rush and the interest meeting at my school we have like an open house for all campus organizations not necessarily green is it a good idea to go up to the table of my sorority of choice and let them know that I’m interested in joining or will
That blacklist me absolutely do not do that if it’s open house is more certificate inch of to get information I do suggest you go up to the tables because you want them to see your face you want to know you’re interested so I don’t know them their own going up to
The table as long as you know for a fact you’ve interested in that one position convince the other organization see your SS table but if you know for a fact that that’s what you’re interested in going to the table have a nice little conversation not pretend to your interests unless it’s just general
Questions you can ask them more questions but those will be like yeah so I’m interested I’m trying to get down or nothing like that there’s time to play for everything and that’s not it at that moment they’re productive business that is them they’re trying to recruit they’re conducting business you know
It’s a professional setting so that is not the time of the place for that so absolutely do not do that oh and about finding out off interest meeting and rest on to find out about the interest meeting brothers informational all that same thing since one of our ears those
Things there are always fliers and so you can follow the social media of the members you can follow their chapter page on the Instagram Facebook Twitter snapchat whatever they have usually they post it on their social media it’s not it’s posted up somewhere around campus
In a paper form like a post or whatever some people are just petty and they will put it up for a good five hours and take it down so they feel like that people who really were interested already know are already seeing it and I even know some people who are
Peggy is to put the Flyers up in the boys dorm that was a girl’s dorm as if you don’t see it um you just got to be aware check you know that sort of thing if you know there’s a bulletin board in your hallway and you know that it might
Be time for interests coming up check the bulletin board or you know from time to time check it out is you and someone else you know have communicating with each other the Jumbos interested like someone you trust and they see it then you got somebody to be like I snapped a
Picture forward I sent it to you that’s what I put me into my snap picture I sent it to me um yeah so I don’t know you just gotta basically just keep an eye out you have to look for it to figure out people talk and gossage us
And if we know someone in the organization a lot of times they’ll probably just be like hey girl the informational and they say explain you know next question is at what point in the interest process with recommendations be active form I never heard of meeting them into your videos
So I’m not sure if the chapter I’m interested in speaking memberships and requires them they do all every single last one of the divine night organizations require you to have recommendation letters the only thing the reason why you might not have heard about it is because some of the things
That I’ve told you that are required of you are things that you find out at interest meeting so us you haven’t been the one that’s why you haven’t heard about it yet but when you go they let you know um so you just basically just got like this crazy you’re welcome okay
But yeah you do need a recommendation letter for us any organizations all chapters in the g9 and also can you ask the professor and how would you ask someone for recommendation oh my god because of dispersion people were not supposed to know you are in the process
One if you ask for a recommendation letter you are not in the process at that point the recommendation letter comes before you’re even selected so yeah and two yet you can ask the professor professors are not to be gossiping your business that they don’t
They don’t do that um and if you go to well and my food was the HBCU a lot of the faculty and staff members are Greeks they know they know what’s up like they know how this goes it’s not their fault first Pony and even if they’re not Greek
They’re not stupid they’ve been teaching there are chances are they’ve written somebody else’s before you shuffle somebody else’s before you they see this going on around them you know they know they know what’s up and it’s a professor like you don’t have to be discreet to a professor like you can tell the
Professor and um even with like profession is the option for recommendation letter ahead of time you can press and just just tell them you know say hey I’m interested in joining a sorority and I wonder if you write write me a recommendation and you don’t tell
Them with it until their group and then once they agree and say yeah sure I will then obviously you have to tell me what it is because they have to put it in the letter so but if they say no there’s no point of telling them so I’m just Reve
Aiming for a stand if they agreed then tell me what it is I mean they have to know so there’s no way of getting around that and if your professor messy gossiping in your school life they need to grow up that I never heard exome
Anyway the next one is advice on how to balance the impact profit schoolwork and extra curricular okay so with that is really really complicated you just got to be a very organized person which Oh let’s try that again you just got a very organized person oh yeah gotta be very organized you have
To be able to balance your schedule you have to be one of those people do not get overwhelmed too easily and you just got to you have to figure out how to like make work if that’s something that you’re interested in you know before you do you know ahead of
Time so my advice is you know you will cut down on hours at work you would take easier classes or less classes that semester unless you can handle the course load um yes that sort of thing like you really just have to figure out like how to balance it figure out what’s
The priority prioritize and that sort of thing I’m not saying privatize sorority / school because I the principles of every story is scholarship so we definitely don’t do that but what I’m saying is you get to pick your schedule so you not just go through your curriculum balance sheet and pick these
Classes you got and then go from there okay this person says so I’m interested in joining a certain sorority but when I was a freshman they all graduated and my school no longer has that sorority I’m about to start my senior year next month and this sorority is supposed to be
Coming back I have to go sign a list for the girls interested in the sorority a few months ago how do you think this process will go do you think it will be a regular informational meeting with possibly a mentor from another school and will we have to impress her okay so
I’ll with situations like that um with situations like that where they’re chartering a chapter or bringing back a chapters that have been suspended or a trouble for some reason or everybody just graduated out with those situations they generally just bring in a graduate shaft well it’ll be your graph chapter anyway
So basically the graph was chapter the grand advisors will be over the intake of that which that’s basically like you know the I want that older ladies older lady but there they have graduated undergrad already so they’re either in grad school or have degree already and they’re part of the graduate chapter so
They come in and they are help with intake pulling the growth in and pieces and everything we need to learn and get them they’re ready and then basically you’d be like a returning line which is a big deal if you make it like that awesome help the charter member or like the
First line in like ten years first line is bodies so something like that like that cool lapel I’m not going to lie but yeah that’s generally how that works so they may bring in so much from underground from a neighboring school to kind of like help with giving you some
More of the undergraduate culture but basically graduate chapter takes over that type of intake process on just to ensure that the startup of that chapter run smoothly and transitions nicely after that though like y’all will run the chapter because Yahoo can only people though that’s pretty cool um I
