Question did you always want to join a sorority no when I got into high school I wanna say my 11th or 12th grade year that’s kind of when I solidified that I wanted to do a sorority specifically Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated I am a legacy and so my mom always grew
Me up to be an aka but I didn’t know really no that was what something I want to do or something I was looking forward to do in high school until I she went to VSU for our state’s homecoming and to have a step show every year so we went
To that step show cuz that’s my mom’s alumni she crossed it um VSU and so we went and singing like all the girls the AKS that wallet Ian Oliver just like you know so bubbly and just like yes I’m that I’m that girl like period and so saying that demeanor see how much
Confidence they have and they walked through the room seeing them know supporting just talk to each other and I have like just that sisterhood and you saw that like immediately off the bat there are so many of I want to say there’s at least about seventy five
Decades to a hundred that was in the building that night it was like one of the most unforgettable moments because that was the moment that night that I knew that the only way to go was Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated that was like it’s done so now went to college
I already had an eye out of who I want to join it was nothing you know new number five what is your favorite sorority related memory that’s a tough one because there’s so many good memories that I have but I guess like my all-time favorite memory I have to be
The moment that I actually crossed that day was just so magical and just so light full of emotion and tears because I met my mom there and having just that experience of her passing down this tradition to me and for me to be able to pass down this legacy to my future
Children it’s just like a moment that was unforgettable so the next thing is sisterhood a real thing yes sir circuit is a real thing I mean just like any other sisterly relations that you have with your bio sisters or your bio brother you’re gonna have you know
People who disagree with each other but in the day you love each other and I love my sisters as I can tell them anything and when we all when we get together it’s always fun like there’s no chaos there’s no all the dramatic cuz it’s just always a good time and that’s
Why I always look forward to going to homecoming I always look forward to going back for special events and stuff because it’s always a good time and that sisterhood is there for life I think you could deal with these people need to be there with these people for literally
Your whole entire life so sister it it’s definitely her own thing whether you love them so I shade on whether whatever it’s real and I have so much love for my line sisters like so much what is the time commitment like for your chapter well saying that I graduated it I can
Just reflect on my past experiences when I was actually an undergraduate and the time commitment is like every single day I was doing something for a KA and even though I graduated I still was doing I’m still doing stuff for a KA like my job
There was just the path I shot there at Kennesaw State University oh and so like I had to recently help out getting the church the church that we wore my Instagram period I had to order those I gave everyone sizes I was in contact with the
Person so working never stops and when I was on campus it was consistently every single day I was doing something for the chapter because I was on the Executive Board and so everything every almost every single thought every day if I woke up was I ought to do this for a day and
Do this for do this do it was just it was non-stop and when you join in sorority or a fraternity that is their commitment you’re making a commitment to devote time to the organization do better and it helped improve it and to expand it and to continuously be a greater
Resource to the community and so you have to put in that time commitment being quite a Greek life this is just not wearing the colors and looking pretty and looking cute it’s also about putting in work you have to put in work because if you don’t don’t join how many
Items of clothes do you have related to your sorority honestly too many to count all right like I said before I am a legacy so being that like I see my mom been waiting for this like my family’s been waiting for this I come from nothing except aka it’s to be honest my
Whole communities I know is okay so with that being said I received numerous shirts numerous gives numerous backs I even got a whole luggage but said Oh making a stuff like from hair ties to bracelets to shirts to everything so I guess the rough estimate I have like four different jackets five different
Jackets right okay so it’s like estimate and then I did the I do box every month so either by subscription of what you get they just can you our different stuff every month so it’s like every month you have a the show birthday basically that’s why I thought I thought
Everyone I’m just feel so special special because I get a box filled with okay stuff so such as maybe your subscription to fat fit fund or something like that it’s a similar concept unless a gay um so I guess I might have about I’m gonna say about 30 to 40 different I
Clothing items related okay to put it shortly Molly but it’s the best part of being in a sorority who is the best part from me is the community the service this sisterhood without that sisterhood without that bonding no matter where you go you will find a sister I was literally at this
Conference didn’t know his soul itself the person I came there with and throughout the hundreds of people that were there I wound up connecting with the server and she lives all the way and like DC but you know where no matter where you go it’s just you always find
That sister and we connect instantly I keep them and I keep up with her on Instagram she keeps up and follows me on Instagram we’re all supporting each other throughout the comments that she happens to be a blogger that I am and tech content is amazing I’m gonna put
The her content on her Instagram handle down below because she’s amazing her content is amazing I try to keep up that but she is just amazing and just having that sister hood and no matter where you go like you can find someone to instakill net with pretty as you have
That one thing I comment is having this group of sisters of black strong independent women don’t even if necessary be by you have other nationalities are in our organization as well and so having this group of strong independent women who are here to serve the greater good in making this world
Even better for us constantly giving back to HBCUs who’s constantly giving back to their community and trying to and you actually see you actually see them working within their community and having that it’s just the most the best part of it I guess I came to sum up like
I came with some of the best part of me knows like a sorority I can’t I can’t cuz I thought there’s just so many dynamics to which makes Alpha Kappa Alpha at one of the best are you a legacy and what is it like being a
Legacy um so yes like I said I’d met you before like ten times like this video of me I am a legacy and what it wasn’t like FINA legacy I mean just basically I said before having this thing that’s like a second pass down to my kids and coming
From mom who is a take an egg and we go to functions together we’re always buying something so we always have something that connects us and that is kind of like a most special part of being a legacy is always having someone who can go to these watch shows with me

Saying a common misconception is that all Greek letter organizations always do is just wear our colors and stroll and throw the bias parties and have the best chicken and what the cutest of course I mean the prettiest but that is not true we put in so much work and we put in so
Much time to organization it’s not just what you see on the outside there’s so much that goes on in the inner workings of these attractors and those organizations that the community and that you guys are not aware of by just feeling that so a lot of people’s
Conception of Greek life is and we’re so much more than strolling we’re so much more than there are flat parties we’re so much more than just looking pretty on a daily these fire trucks are not gonna go anywhere they’re just so loud some sort of finish off their verses because they’d be going
