I’m or else and pretty sure all HBCUs it’s a family environment it’s a family oriented environment there’s a shared experience at Morehouse that is unique all black male institution singing are people who act like you who come from similar backgrounds you be successful that’s the Brotherhood that’s the sister
For that’s the family atmosphere that exists at HBCU you no longer the minority his family actually got recruited to go to Morehouse as a bachelor players always been more than bachelor than me I’ve always been more than the bachelor player and when I made that decision it was like you know
I want to kind of you know I still emulate him and so today I knew I was interested in Greek life by Daniel I was gonna pursue it and I was always there for school and basketball you know how I got to know some people and I kind of
Made friends who people who actually want to be a policy organization so I started doing my research and started finding out that you know some of the principles and objectives of our fraternity resonated with me and resonated with my morals and how I was raised and I was like you know this just
Might be for me that’s what I’ll make this opportunity is it’s a brotherhood it’s a unity a closeness all in the vein and the spirit of uplifting your community you know striving academically through scholarship for that best friend that you have you know from that that loving father uncle grandfather that you had
You know is gonna hold you accountable you know you can go to them to talk about anything you know you can go to him to to seek advice standing upright as a man holding yourself accountable holding those around you’re accountable that’s what it is it is it’s a beautiful
It is it absolutely it can’t be overstated you know when I came in I was welcomed with open arms you know I had peopled I knew from back home that I went to Morehouse you know they were guiding me and telling me you know what’s expecting
That I would love it and you know I didn’t expect anything else and you know they were absolutely hundred-percent right when you were told at one point time in this country that the University of Georgia’s would educate you that the university the Tennessee would educate
You you can come home you can come to Tennessee State you can come to Fort Valley you come this amount of state and we will love you as your mother loves you we will love you and and lift you up and hold you accountable as your father
Done us so like Tallahassee coach says you can be your genuine self and not have to worry about someone judging you because they don’t understand what it is to be black in America well you at home we all understand we all share that experience
