Hey guys so today we’re going to talk about letters of recommendation and why they are so important now when you’re applying to any organization recommendation letters are the things that are going to make or break you and the reason why I say that is because it’s one of the first things that people
Read when you’re applying so it’s the same thing we’re doing grad school college secret society I don’t know everyone’s gonna require you to write a recommendation later same thing works for when you’re joining a fraternity or sorority so the recommendation letters they can depend on really it depends on
The organization and what their requirements are but usually a recommendation letter typically the people that you would think would write the letter would be someone that’s a from a professional familial academic or Greek background it doesn’t necessarily have to be someone within that chapter that you’re joining it helps if you know
Someone that’s in a chapter that you’re joining but I think it honestly depends on what the organization’s requirements are typically it can be anyone in that chapter or just someone who’s financial or someone that’s Greek typically I don’t think that it has to be any specified person that it has to be like
I don’t think it should be your mother who’s also Greek I don’t think that’s fair but I mean it could it could lie but yeah recommendation letters are important I have someone ask me about that I just went out there but yeah how soon should you start requesting recommendation letters that would depend
On when the organization itself is planning on doing formal rush I would say to make sure you have a recommendation letter the semester before you plan on joining that way you will already have it on hand that you have that you don’t have the extra stuff
At the last minute do not request a recommendation letter from me like the week that you’re planning on joining us or your attorney that is the most annoying thing in the world don’t do that try to the X if um it’s not a month maybe two weeks before it’s due even two
Weeks so I think it’s kind of pushing it but I would definitely say to request it early rather than later so you give the person time to write you a really good letter and it be really professional and it reflects you in the most positive light not Kelsey X made the last minute
To write this recommendation letter so I’m going to write this recommendation letter for her not necessarily a good thing but I just want to give some tidbits on recommendation letters if anyone has any questions about recommendation letters or joining a sorority in general you guys already
