Greetings I am Roderick Davis and I am the assistant director for the office of Attorney sorority life here at Mississippi State University I am also a spring 2014 initiative of the captivated chapter of Alpha Phi Fraternity Incorporated we are in the process of building a plaza for the npac today
You’re going to hear stories from our alumni and current students on why this project will be beneficial to our Black Culture our students here in Mississippi State as well as the npac community my name is lyric Hills Georgia at a car my name is Nathan Mosley to board cook fall
2010 initiate of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated Theta Delta Delta chapter here on our campus I was able to find a Brotherhood and a supportive group that not only supported me but challenged me to be the most successful version of myself within my organization and within the national
Paneling and Council I found community and support what a plaza means to us is that not only do we have a safe space on Camp campus that we can call our own we also have an area that represents that same level of support and community that
We all know and love it’s something that I think will give back to Chapters and students on our campus for years to come and it is something that is is badly needed I’m a senior animal and dairy science major from Frisco Texas I am a part of Sigma gamma rho sorority
Incorporated I was inducted in Fall 2020 and in the past two years of being a part of my organization not just my organization but mphc as a whole has given me a very big sense of community that I very much so needed being so far away from home just being surrounded by
Driven Minds that are different for me but also like me and us coming together for just one common purpose is something that is very important to me and even when having my daughter the whole mphc fraternity and sorority life and my organization kind of just stood behind me and I credit
The support system that I had from them with me being able to come back to school after taking a semester off and I feel that without them I don’t think I would have come back I would not have had that push and that support or motivation from them to come back to me
Plots are a way for us to make our impact known to make our history known to make what not just these chapters but overall our organization as a whole from the time they were founded up into now to make the impact that we’ve had on the communities that we serve in known I
Remember the captivated chapter of Alpha Phi opportunity incorporated as one goal of the npac is to really just show Unity amongst all of our organizations and with the Positive project we can really go beyond what people see as stepping and struggling just something that we have history behind our organizations
And just showing their history and also being engaged with our communities as well I I’m a 1992 graduate of Mississippi State University I graduated from the College of backley Engineering and mechanical engineering you know I came to Mississippi State from Jackson Mississippi and I knew in
High school that this is where I wanted to come but the thing that has stayed with me from Mississippi State until today is my involvement with Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority my experience is here with the Lambda Ada chapter have gone to what we say we’re going to do one
Thing that I always see lambdietosaurus the energy that we have one thing that we did not have was a special place to gather and that’s what I find so important and energizing about this Plaza a place where all the divine nine can gather and you know be expressive some place
Where they can be their Unapologetic selves they can show up in True Divine fashion teach others what black Greek life is all about now that we’ve shared our stories I’m actually here on the location of the plaza to donate you can go to www.greeks.msstate.edu or you can simply call our office at
