Hey guys welcome back to my channel if you are new here welcome my name is pebbles and as you can tell by the title of this video I’m gonna be telling you guys the pros and cons of being on a big sorority line so if you are interested in seeing that

Check out my so sustain ones have topic because this is why you guys are here I took some notes so I’m gonna set up with the pros and it in with the cons so um Oh backstory I am on a big line my chapter they just they’re always

Producing big lines my line is 89 my line number 66 so gives you an idea my experience okay so the first probe that I would have to say is that the chapter has resources the chapter a pro of being on a big line is that the chapter does

Not lack funding because y’all are paying and you know when you pay your fees part of it goes to the chapter so we always have resources which was great anytime we needed to do something we were on I was just pulling from that um another Pro is that being on a big line

Is great for networking and I would say I have a lot sister for everything okay and eighty nine of us I should have a lot sister for everything but I have a lot I have there’s doctors nurses nurse practitioners speech therapists occupational therapists physical therapists journalists makeup artists photographers like engineers HR managers

I have questions about something I have a line system that I can lean on and talk to so that is a big Pro we it’s it’s a lot of us so the networking is abroad okay so another Pro is that we have because there’s so many we have

Committees now I was committee chair for one of our scholarship hedges and it may have been like eight people on my committee not every committee has the same number people some some committees have more some committees have less but I wasn’t I didn’t feel like I was doing everything on my own

So I had myself as the committee chair I had my co committee chair and I had my committee so I was able to I was able to against facilitate and all the responsibilities didn’t lie on just me so that was very that was very helpful

It took a lot of stress off of me I could assign hey can you do this and it would be them um so basically I didn’t feel like I was just being stretched out something that makes sense um another Pro we don’t always have an intake process we don’t have a we don’t

Always have a line every year chapters who have smaller lines they may have four on the line two on the line three on a line they have to continuously have a intake process they have to continuously have a line coming out just to sustain the chapter because if everybody in the chapter graduates

Who who’s gonna keep the chapter up so we didn’t we didn’t have to worry about that my the next line up to me came after I graduated so I mean I guess that could be a pro in a con I see that as a pro another pro is that you don’t really

Feel alone when people graduate because you still have a good number that are in the chapter that are still doing stuff in the chapter that are still active in the chapter so a lot of times if you are one of the youngest in your chapter and your line sisters or your pro fights

They graduate and it’s a only one it’s only you and say another line sister it’s like dang I miss my chapter like it’s we it’s just me you holding this ship afloat you know whereas because my line is bigger um when my last sisters that are older

Than me when they graduated I didn’t feel like everybody’s gone you know like I felt like okay I still got I still got a good a good number of us still in the chapter that I can you know connect we hang out with new service wit you know

Okay so another pro is that when there’s there’s basically a lot of lies or there were a lot of line sisters in my classes which I mean it just made class Bolin especially after we after we came out like we were just all hanging out we weren’t hurt we weren’t hanging out

Before it’s crazy right but we built that sisterhood and that bond after we came out all we were sitting class together we were studying together and that leaves need to say study groups we had the best study groups we had the best Bible study groups I mean you just

Have a lot of people to bounce ideas off of um which makes it you know fun it’s not a boring experience because it’s not so it’s a lot of people in the chapter it’s not like it’s just three of us and we’re trying to study and none of us are

In the same major you know okay so another Pro is that there’s a great turnout for service projects and you can also have multiple service projects going on at once and you can have big service projects and for us it’s like say if we have a service project that is

Off campus that’s still open to the campus say nobody shows up it’s still a lot of us to get you know to be able to get work done compared to if it’s a smaller line or a smaller chapter and nobody which is rare but nobody from

Campus is able to go to this project the service project it’s just me and you getting it done for a couple hours whereas me and my line it was just it was a good time it was fun it didn’t feel like we you are working because essentially that’s what you’re doing your volunteer

And you’re working okay so this is which I really can’t sauce y’all are here for the cons cuz you’re messy and that’s okay cuz I got a little messiness than me too but I wanna be honest I will be transparent cuz that’s you know that’s just the vibe that I’m giving off this

Year okay so as far as cons and some of this is common sense um because you have more people on the line because you have more people in a chapter you have more personalities you have more input on decisions you know that equals to drama okay especially I mean it’s just

Different for sororities compared to fraternities guys they can fight and ever be friends again girls na it’s gonna take a while so it’s a lot of like mediate in I manage a manager license and I’m like we are like let’s just you know you try to be peacemaker because you’re going to bump

Haters you know we’re not kids we’re adults like we are young adults with with opinions and minds of our own so we’re not gonna agree like we are all different individuals so it’s natural it would be not unrealistic to have this expectation that we’re all gonna get

Along that’s just not and that that happens on smaller lines to to me it’s just intensified because the line is bigger or it may happen more because the line is bigger so another kind it takes a long time to get anything done and it’s not not in the sense they’re like

We’re procrastinating but in the sense that if this is an assignment or something that the entire chapter has to be a part of and we have to do it’s gonna take a lot of us or it’s gonna take a lot of time for 89 of us to complete it okay

And that was before I was initiated and that was once I was an anchor anything anytime we had to get the entire chapter together because okay y’all we gotta do this any type of decisions that any voting whatever like it’s gonna take a long time because it’s a lot of this um

What else so this next card it’s not impossible but it does take more effort to establish a sisterhood because there are more people that you have to establish a sisterhood with you have to be very intentional and sorry artist but you have to be very intentional in establishing a sisterhood because it’s

Not a small line a smaller line it’s it’s easier to get to know and to establish a relationship with everybody um so yeah that’s the kind of it is what it is um another con it is normal to be closer and this I guess this can be on

It like a smaller line as well but it’s normal to be closer to your line sisters that are closer to you I’m closer to my back then I am to my ace because she’s behind me okay but I’m still like my tail I’m very close to my tail and we

Are almost twenty people apart one of my best friends my life’s to suit we are almost 35 people apart so and I mean I am very close to her so it’s not impossible you just have to you just gotta do so do the work that’s what i’ma say you got to

Do the work okay um what else okay so and this is one of the cons that I hated not everybody can be included in everything and that’s just that’s just facts and I’ll give you an example step show I didn’t care to be a part of it

Cuz I can’t step ok but for the ones that wanted to UM everybody can’t be in a step show so gotta had tryouts and that’s just what it is or if say campus was having an event and only they only allowed it say 10 chairs for each

Sorority 10 chairs for each of eternity somebody ain’t making a cook so for us we had to establish some type of criteria criteria have you been to chapter meetings have you been involved what have you been doing and then guess for those who weren’t you weren’t considered but that was just a criteria

We had to sit – so it’s fair you know are you are you a committee chair are you a president are you truck do you hold some type of office you’re more likely to be chosen for something last kind it’s a negative stereotype that I

Mean it is what it is like I’m not a shy boy somebody asked me was what you want 66 and I want you to say something okay say something cuz I’m a check you okay but yeah I mean you’re just you’re just judged more critically and I get it I

Understand it however don’t get it confused because there’s a lot of smaller lines that you may you may think they are there are a lot of smaller line I’m trying to be carefully my wording there are a lot of smaller lines they may pass on judgment that’s shouldn’t

But they will because they’re smaller you’re not gonna question a smaller line or you’re going to assume certain things of a smaller line that you wouldn’t have a larger line but to be cut to be completely honest with you there are there are going to be

Larger loans that are more active in the community okay they’re gonna be larger loans that are doing the work so that’s that on it um but no but those are the problems in the cons of being on a big sorority Greek NPHC line for anybody to consider if they’re

Interested in being in a in an organization and say that their school has a big line and you’re little apprehensive or cautious about it I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world um and you know see you guys next time remember to like and subscribe bye
