Right there max what are you doing anywho so how much is it gonna cost you so let’s just talk about this first when you join a sorority or fraternity in the NPHC the National pan-hellenic council or a bgl Oh a black Greek letter organization these organizations are for
Life so the expectation is that you are active and financial for life and with those being active and financial comes dinero so that means if you come in undergrad or granite there is a fee associated with your membership and then there yearly dues that you will also pay now
You might be asking yourself well Danny how much are those fees well that I cannot tell you but I can’t give you a range between and this is different for different orgs but I’m just gonna give you a range of what it could look like
For you so if you come in as a undergrad you could be paying between four hundred something to maybe twelve hundred dollars and again this is different between or between chapters between regions everybody gets to pretty much charge whatever is within their limits because you know of course some of the
Money stays with the chapters some goes to the state some goes to the region and then some goes to Nationals depending on what org you’re in it may be instruction a little bit different but for the most part those are different areas that are getting money from you so you got the
Chapters gonna get a cut the state is gonna get a cut the region is gonna get a cut and the national office gets a cut so that money has to be cut four ways so again I cannot tell you precisely what that dollar amount is because it fluctuates between organizations now if
You’re coming in as a grant member which I came in as a grunt member y’all all know what’s going on my eyelash but it’s tripping right now that’s in my eye Beauty is paying but anyhow um so if you come in as a grant member there is a
Chance that you could pay between eight hundred on up to two thousand dollars coming in so again this is different for each or each region each state each chapter everybody does a different but you should be expecting to pay at least at least eight hundred dollars for your
Membership fees now don’t be going telling nobody Danny said this how much it cost no I gave you a range boo-boo so if you want to be prepared I say by the higher number so you’ll be straight regardless to what other people might think because again it might be
More it might be less and especially if you’re coming in as an undergrad you could be paying a little bit more because sometimes people like to when you have those dudes sometimes you can just have people pay their dues for the next year as well included in that
Initial membership so it all depends on how people want to do their stuff this is like any other organization if you’ve been in organizations there’s always a membership fee like I’m in other organizations in addition to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated they all have different fees so again I don’t want you
Thinking I just gave you the churro but just know that’s a range that is very realistic that people will be using and you will be somewhere around there now let’s get back to this lifetime commitment so basically within that lifetime commitment though they’re going to be service events they’re going to be
Activities they’re gonna be donations that’s extra view conferences all kinds of stuff so with that said you’re gonna have to spend money to attend ease conferences you’re gonna have to spend money to travel to these conferences morning like you’re gonna have to spend money when you’re there to eat you gotta
Have to spend money for a hotel if you need to get a hotel Airbnb whatever it may be and you might even be written a car so there’s going to be a huge cost associated with this now do you have to go to all these conferences no you can
Choose not to but you’ll be missing out on a whole lot of information versus you actually go into the conference’s and getting information headfirst look ya’ll see you max right there look like that yo they’re chilling max what are you doing Missy didn’t came over here Maxo fool
Like I was saying make sure you are prepared for this because I’m not saying do everything and then you broke and you know what your financial situation is I’m saying pick and choose your battles pick and choose your situations because every year those do gonna roll around and those dues again
Depending on organization can be between I’ll say two hundred and five hundred dollars a year so again you’re going to be expected to pay out this money every year you’re going to be expected to go to conferences you’re gonna be expected to volunteer you’re gonna be expected to
Donate to certain platforms that are being pushed you know so I don’t want people coming in thinking oh once I get in I’m just gonna go party and I’m just gonna wear t-shirts all the time and not do any work because you know what we don’t need t-shirt wares we actually
Need people who are able so like if let’s say you join and then something happens and you’re not able to pay your dues cool but you are able to volunteer right right so let’s not act like you can’t give to the chapter in other ways
Until you are back on your feet and able to financially support your organization so again this is a life long commitment don’t sleep on this if you’re somebody that’s thinking about joining think about that financial commitment first because it’s not sweet like if you’re not in that position to
Pay your dues every year found another way to support your organization don’t just be like yeah they got enough people nothing to do with it the point is you decided to join you took a oath right right maybe you should live by it and believe
It as you did when you were trying to work your way into that organization for those of you who are looking at this I’m hoping you’re taking these words to heart and you really understand it this is serious it’s not just foreplay I mean if you just want to join an
Organization just to say you’re a part of it you can miss us all with that because that is not what we need we need people who are gonna be dedicated and in more ways than one and I’m not saying choose the org over your family don’t be silly now don’t don’t don’t don’t
This is a volunteer organization now don’t do that again pick your battles and do things that make if you think that the financial commitment is too much take a step back but don’t leave make sure you are contributing in some kind of way whether you’re mentoring whether you’re giving
