Posted the video this is a while ago they asked me was there a point any point during my process if I ever felt doubt like if I ever doubted myself being in a sorority and I thought oh what an interesting question um but see did I ever doubt myself in my

And as much as I stand out now but if someone asked me to do a show I would do it now in the past when I first joined my sorority that was not something that I was interested in doing and I talked about that a little bit when I was

Didn’t really matter to me being in the show did not matter to me but what I had to realize at was when you’re in a sorority when you have my sisters and when you have people that are supposed to be you’re supposed to be one all your decisions have to be
The same my watch was recording what I was saying all your decisions have to be the thing so because my life sisters wanted it probate I therefore want to in probate so I wasn’t going to be the one to mess that up for them because simply because
I didn’t want to do it that’s the kind of person that I am a lot of people aren’t like that when they join a sorority a lot of people are selfish and you’re not supposed to be selfish when you join a sorority it’s supposed to be
All for one and one for all type stuff but people aren’t like that people aren’t going to sacrifice for the greater good or sacrifice for your chapter if they just want to do what they want to do I am going to try this eyeshadow that I got from Kat Von D I
See how this goes on when I tried it on when I first looked at it it’s translucent but when you put it on it matches your it matches your skin tone hey yeah so do this right Jesus it doesn’t show up really good on camera
But on me it’s like a bronze see if you guys can see that so it’s not white it turned into a bronze color which i think is really cool so we’re gonna try this on my lid see how this goes I’m just kind of lightly just this on

Which organization is best for me I think the best way to determine the sorority or fraternity that’s best for you is to like everyone says do your research and we’re not just telling you guys just just to be buttholes and to not answer your question at all we’re
Telling you this because we actually want you to know what you want to do before you do it I think it’s important to note that Greek life is a lifetime commitment you do not join something just to join it in college and then be done with it you’re joining it forever
And it’s not going to disappear once you graduate like once you join you basically join it until you die and you don’t want to commit to something like that unless you know for sure that you want to join it that’s why I don’t get when some people join sororities or
Fraternities and put all this money into it and then when they get to the end or when they just don’t want to do it anymore they just they’re done and they never come back call me crazy but I’m in the sorority and I touched on this drink or I
Actually kind of went into it a lot more on my denouncing with my letters video but I don’t see myself joining the sorority and then 2 or 10 or 20 years down the road being like I quit you know I’m joining the sorority I plan on being assuming Amuro until I die or
Two or otherwise okay so I don’t get why people would invest in something like this and then later on say no I changed my mind I’m going to denounce my letters when you’re in an organization like this you’re basically in it until the very end of your life so tread carefully
Do your research know exactly what you want to do and why you want to do it before you choose to do it because it’s money that you’re putting into it you’re putting your money into it you’re putting your time into it all your effort like I lost a lot of time out of
My life doing other things because I was doing things at my sorority and there’s nothing wrong with that I am totally okay with that it’s just that something that I knew I would have to do when I decide to make a commitment to the sorority next question how much
Time do you do fraternity in your sorority and fraternity membership well cry like I said it requires all of your time all of your time there is really now there’s no moment in a sorority where you can just put in a little effort and that’s all you have to put in
No you put in all of your effort and all of your time which is why a lot of them would ask you how much time can you commit before you actually join so just bear that in mind – when looking to join an organization that you’re gonna have
To devote all of your time to it weekend’s a Friday Saturday Sunday actually had somebody ask me one time they had a family and they want to join a sorority and Grantchester they weren’t or in undergrad and they were basically in a working adult working adult getting their bachelor’s
Degree which I think it’s awesome in itself she was basically asking me what type of time what she had to devote to the sorority and I was telling her I’ve heard the truth I was like well because you have a family you might want to take that into consideration before you join
Because an undergrad may be not so much a grant out there but an undergrad they require you to basically devote weekends which is Saturdays and Sundays they require you to devote that time to the sorority you have to do community service you have to go to church sometimes when we have
Um we have Sunday services for our events we go to church so some of those things are required when you’re an undergrad more so an undergrad family when you’re in graduate chatter but you still have to devote time and graduate chapter two because we work during the
Week so weekends are usually when we do things so bear that in mind when you want to join an organization next question what are the practical benefits of membership I think the best benefit of it all is the actual networking that you get out of it so many of my
Opportunities in life have come from me just being in my sorority that I’m in be it me getting a job or me meeting someone or me getting a particular position somewhere it all came from me being in the sorority thumb and because I had sorors in that same field so it
Was really beneficial to me to be able to do those types of things because I was in a sorority another benefit that I think is great is you meet people from all over your nation and not even all of your nation if you’re international you’ll need you’ll meet people all over
Different countries as well I cannot stress to you guys enough how beneficial it was to me to have sorors and other countries when I travel it because it just gave me an opportunity to know someone and to better understand another person’s culture because I had a cerrar in that area
It’s really beneficial if you’re military to military fraternities or people in the military who join fraternities and sororities they benefit a lot from it because they’re meeting people all over all the time so they get to meet people they get to travel they get to know about people and it benefits
Them because they’re in the military I have a couple of sores sorry I’m looking for something I have a couple of sores who lived in other countries like South Korea when they join Sigma Gamma Rho and they loved it they just loved having a chapter in South Korea like
What sorority has a chapter and well then maybe there are but I’m just saying what sorority has a chapter in South Korea and can tell people about it we have sores in Bahamas we have sores in the Philippines we have sores try think of another continent
We have sores in Europe I don’t remember if we have swords as far as like Australia or something but I know we have sores and like the South Pacific I know that so I think that’s really cool and I think that a lot of people don’t really know that about see me tomorrow
Maybe other sororities that you know have chapters elsewhere but I just know for Sigma Gamma Rho we have chapters all over the world I need concentrate while I lashes on and put my lashes on and I’ll be right back okay next question can Greek life or how can Greek life help me succeed
Academically now I’m not gonna say joining Greek life that’s gonna give you a GPA booze cuz it’s absolutely not we’re not a we’re scholarship organization but we do not necessarily if you join us we’re not going to raid your group GPA however I can tell you that our Greek
System is held at a higher standard than your average college student so I think being in a Greek organization will motivate you into having a higher GPA because academically speaking if you want to join our organization the minimum GPA for most sororities oh my god oh that myself I the minimum GPA for
Most rorty’s is a 2.5 some of them are as high as a 3.0 GPA so if you’re already not around that range when you want to join then I recommend you it’s close to that GPA is possible or even exceed that GPA because we’re not looking for people who can just meet the
Requirements we’re looking for people to exceed our expectations that’s what attracts us to people who want to join our people who exceed our expectations and who maintain those high standards so if you can’t obtain a higher GPA I would highly recommend doing that because that’s what’s gonna attract this more
Not you just meeting the bare minimum requirement what am I missing hate to move the stuff that I’ve used out of my way I’m confusing myself alright we also highly recommend that you study like being in an organization we pretty much promote scholarship that’s one of the basic foundations of
All organizations of scholarship so when you join it doesn’t mean that you stop being scholarly like if anything you should be more scholarly because there are other people being scholarly with you so you want to make sure that everyone is doing well and that we are all succeeding together like my sorority
We used to have study hours and we would study on particular days together or we would just have like minimum hours that we’d have to complete a week of studying where we just study and we have to do it on campus like you can’t study at home
You have to study on campus because that’s your I guess your best motivation I guess is when you’re already on campus you’re already going to be motivated to study instead of wait until you get home so we would have I think 12 hours a week
To study on campus and then the rest is just whatever you decide to do but on campus you had 12 hours that you had to dedicate 100% to studying I let my sister borrow my concealer and I need to figure out what I’m gonna use to conceal
I use my Mac but I need to find something else next question what is hazing it is it something I should worry about yeah hazing is any type of activity that makes you feel uncomfortable it’s anything that actually I need to use my brush it’s anything that causes you to
Anything that causes physical or mental harm I guess would be the technical term of it so anything that just puts you out of your comfort zone would be considered hazing so if you say you’re an interested member say you’re in the process of joining an organization and your membership chair tells you okay
You’re basically going to be in this process now but there is a different process that we want your full commitment to are you committed to doing it that’s basically like code for we’re gonna do the official stuff but when people aren’t looking we’re going to hate you that’s basically what that
Means and you guys need to be able to recognize what the sign of the phasing are because I don’t want you guys to get caught up in that kind of stuff hazing is illegal and it is frowned upon by everyone it’s not just illegal for Greek
Life it’s illegal for uh what you call it intramural sports it’s illegal for MPC and IFC like it’s illegal everywhere and anyone that tells you that is not is an idiot because if you look it up it’s illegal everywhere I don’t know any divine my organization that says hazing
Is okay so if your DP is telling you that even the phrase DP for my sorority is referred to as some form of hazing but the reason why I use it for you guys is because a lot of people like they understand that term so if I use it I’m
Just using it as a point of reference for you guys I’m not using it to end wait that my sorority does that because we don’t that’s just what everyone is most familiar with on YouTube a lot of times you’ll hear me say membership chair because that’s what I was taught I was
Taught membership chair that’s the formal way of saying it and that also doesn’t implement hazing that’s the official phrase I use hazing I use DP because that’s what everyone’s familiar with a lot of people aren’t a lot of people have different names or some people are okay with using DP for their
Organization my sorority is not okay with it but for you guys I use it just for your understanding so even if you are not in the sorority yet even if you are interested and they’re like okay you’re interested meet me at my house or meet me at this address at 10 o’clock if
You want to join and then you get there and it’s like 10 other people there asking you a million questions that could technically be a form of hazing because it’s not an official process but some people will argue that the person is not uncomfortable in any way it’s
Just people gathering and asking a bunch of questions but I think it could be nationally or legally it can be considered as a form of hazing because it’s not something that’s been nationally sanctioned like they don’t sanction you to meet people and address at a certain time and be bombarded by a
Bunch of other people like they don’t they don’t sanction that I’m just going in with my Smashbox because I let my sister hold my favorite concealer so hopefully this isn’t too golden on me well occur that question it is something you should worry about yes because it’s
Illegal so yes you should be worried about it because they shouldn’t be doing it and if you ever want to know if a sorority has broken that sanction there is a bill that passed I came here my name of the bill but there have been so many issues with people dying from
Hazing that a bill was passed where if the formal complaint has been placed against an organization it has to be reported on that school’s Greek life page so if you ever want to know if the chapter that you’re interested near has been involved in hazing in your concern
Then I recommend going to that Greek life page going to their Greek life page and looking up that organization USC has it listed from when I was an undergrad all the chapters that have ever been involved in sanctioning acts what those acts were how were they reprimanded how
They had to pay restitution all of those things were listed on that website it’s available to parents students faculty staff like anybody can see it it’s not hidden information so if you’re ever wondering that’s where you can find that information next question what is a new member process each organization has
Their own name for their new member process we generally call it intake but if you want to know specifically what chapter or what organization calls it what you didn’t just go to their national website to see what they call it my organization’s process is listed the official name of it is listed for
Everybody to see so it’s not a mystery to people so you can definitely go to their national website to find out what it is called oh let me backtrack someone asks me about hazing and grant chapter I have a friend who went to join a sorority and graduate chapters she was
Like I don’t want to joy’ if I have to be hazed and like crawl in the dirt and I was earlier that grant chapter is totally different from undergrad got chapter those new hazing either but I just want to emphasize that hazing is something that isn’t done where is my
Powder hazing isn’t done in the Graduate chapter either if they did then that would be a big issue too because they’re not supposed to be doing it at all so if it’s being done in an Graduate chapter just absolutely not good next question my powder on next question I’m still
Interested but I’m not sure what I want to do take your time like you don’t have to join a lot of people who have who who have reached out to me they weren’t sure if they were ready to join the organization but they heard that the organization was going to
Have a line soon and they didn’t want to miss out I tell a lot of people who don’t necessarily want to miss out it’s okay to not join at this time I always tell people to make sure that they do what’s right for them like organizations
Are always gonna be there I don’t ever see a day when they’re gonna completely disband NPHC and everyone loses their credibility I don’t ever see that day happening anytime soon so whether you join in undergrad or graduate chapter just make sure that it’s a right time
For you to join don’t rush into it just because you think this is your only chance they’re going to be plenty of chances for you to join an organization so don’t let that be something to kind of force you into it and then you also want to make sure that you’re doing your
Research before you join because you want to make sure that it’s absolutely the right time I wanted to join my sorority when I was a freshman in my second semester freshman year I wanted to join my sorority they had a line I totally missed it but looking back I
Think that it was all God’s planned because if I hadn’t awaited I would have rushed into it and I wouldn’t have been in the position that I’m in now to accomplish the things that I’m accomplishing in my organization and I think that it’s great that I wait it
Into the last minute because we’re not the last minute I’m glad that I waited – I knew for sure that it was a right time for me spring 2012 was exactly the right time for me because when I got ready to cross when I got ready to cross
It was just perfect timing because it was my sophomore year fall of my junior year or senior sophomore and junior year follow my fear here no follow my dream here Wow followed my junior year I went to Europe and it just it worked out perfectly because I got to do all the
Things that I wanted to do an undergrad before having to go to Europe and having a totally different experience up there so it was absolutely amazing that I got to join my sorority at the time that I joined because it just opened the doors for so many other opportunities for me
