Specifically divine eye organizations okay so we’re just gonna jump right into it so yeah let’s get started right so I wrote everything down I have five do’s and fives don’ts I’m gonna start with the do’s so here we go the first do is to do your research
Cysts like literally go to Google type in whatever organization that you’re interested in whatever fraternity sorority that you’re interested in that you know if it’s d9 typing in if it’s not typing in but for my d9 people or my people that are interested in d9 do your
Research like do your research and like any book that you get read it like read everything about the organization that you are interested in read about all the organizations if you don’t know what you’re interested in you don’t want to go into anything blind the second do is
To attend events now for me I tell everybody like all the young ladies that reach out to me on my Instagram and my snapchat like and it’s a lot of you and I appreciate all of you know the you know the interest in different organizations cuz there’s been multiple
Girls that have reached out to me about Alpha Kappa Alpha and it’s been most people girls who have reached out to me and not knowing what exactly they want to do and I’ve been honest with all of you all and I’ve always told you all to
Show your face at the events that matter anybody can go to a party literally and for me being the person that don’t like parties like I’ll show my face with every event that you know what service-based was you know just a simple oh let’s talk less chill type of event
Like show your face at events really matter because anybody can party you know that’s when you join an organization a denial organization specifically just like Alpha Kappa Alpha we serve all mankind and like when we say service to all mankind we really mean that like we really do service so
It’s not about just okay yeah we strollin we having fun at this party but we also awakened up who we doing service and we’re going and helping our community because that’s what we’re that’s where basically what we are you don’t say a lot of people think like Oh
Denying organizations are all what is a social we’re social but we also do service period okay number three expect to do work so like when you join an organization expect to do work and expect to you don’t have to work with people that you may not like or have to
You know like put a put on one you know your thinking cap and get the organization to another level because you know you’re always trying to improve your organization on your campus so expect to do work don’t expect to just join an organization and then sit there
And not do nothing you know I’m saying and even if like for me I had a hard time trying to you know get my voice out there especially with you know you know just trying to show and show people that oh we should do this so we should do
That like don’t bite your tongue don’t sit up then just be there okay nobody’s gonna listen to me so I’m not gonna say anything be vocal you know I’m saying and understand that you know your voice count your voice matters you have to you have to work with people and you have to
Do the work to get the organization to another level okay the fourth do is to be professional and when I say be professional I mean like so when you’re trying to turn organization and say it’s like you go to a party or you go to an event and they’re playing music know how
To carry yourself and this goes specifically to my ladies like understand that you can’t really but you can dance you can do whatever you want to do sis but when it comes to showing your interest and also making sure that you appeal to the crowd that you’re
Trying to show your interest to so if so say it’s like if a girl it’s like trying to join our organization and you know she’s out here Kirsten she’s out here you know loud just you know being not something that I want from our organization I’m not gonna sit
Up here and you’re like oh that’s the person that I want my organization I want somebody that’s versatile that can you know know how to turn up but then also know how to turn down and get to business and yeah and the last do is to
Be prepared for change y’all when I say be prepared be prepared for change and also when incorporated with that be prepared for change and know how to adapt to that change in a humble and positive way so for example if you were a girl that you know before you got
These letter and you wasn’t pulling guys she wasn’t you know like going to parties you you know like you weren’t really cute or whatever and now that you got these letters everybody want to talk to you everybody won’t be your friend boys want to hit you up only to you know
Say that they you know they be it something with you or whatever just because you got these letters on know how to handle that you know I’m saying because if before you got these letters that people wasn’t really messing with you or people really you know didn’t
Think you were popping or you you know like you think you now you now you now you think you cute because you got these letters know how to you know take these letters and go flourish with them in a humble way like don’t just think like
Okay I’m okay now so I’m popping all these boys want to talk to me I’m cute now like Knossos you should have thought that you were cute before you got these letters you should have you know like if these boys I’m just now hooding you up because you got these letters that
Should tell you something you know I’m saying like and that goes for anybody because I’ve seen it even on my campus like people get letters and they think like oh yeah I’m popping now I’m cute now no sis if you wasn’t then you ain’t now it’s just these letters that’s you
Know picking you making your hair a little bit too big for your own good you know I’m saying like be humble with it and also be prepared to change be prepared for change because now people are gonna be on your heels people don’t think that you are celebrities with
These letters on and you’re not like denying people we are not celebrities that are we are we are human beings we just got letters on our chest period and a lot of a lot of design people that I met are very humble with I’m saying like a lot of people like
Before when I first crossed like I would wear my letters out all the time because I’m just like I was so proud of myself because I joined the organization and I wanted to be in but now I’m just like you know I wear my letters if I want to
If I don’t you know I know I make a I don’t need it to have everybody else know I make a you know I’m saying so like just be prepared for change and know how to accept that change or adapt to that change in a humble way and not
Sit up here and be like oh I’m the [ __ ] now because I got these letters and everybody want to talk to me all these boys want to you know you know I’m saying because like if they wasn’t messing with you before if you didn’t have if you hadn’t had a sauce before
You had to let us do you only got the songs now baby you know I’m fit okay so now we’re about to move on to the don’ts okay so number one do not open your mouth baby your oh do not I don’t open your mouth baby boy keep your mouth shut okay
Nothing you don’t say nothing and this is something that I even had to learn y’all so learn from my mistakes if you are interest member if you are prospective member make sure that you know okay that you can’t just be at a party with your friends and even the
People that you think are your friends and you’d like him I’m gonna be a delta oh yeah I’ll be invader no don’t say that you know I’m saying do not say that’s because those people will turn around and open their mouths and say the same thing
Even if you’re a pillow talking a guy or a guy is pillow talkin you or even if you cool with some guys literally don’t say nothing like I had to learn that the hard way literally the hard way and it made me a better person now because now
I truly know how valuable and what discretion is you know I’m saying and discretion is essential like hey like discretion is everything because if somebody open a mouth after you open your mouth without saying what you want to do then it get back to us we’re gonna
Be like what were ization you tryna what you trying to join who you tryin to let and it is just gonna make you hard a few if you go through or be able to get past that you know that milestone of you opening your mouth
And that’s what I had to do you know I’m saying like I had to you know like it was just something hard for me to get over especially because you know like once you open your mouth the first time everybody’s gonna be like yeah that person opens a mouthful I you know I’m
Saying so like you just got to be careful you got to be you got to be cautious of what you say and no you know not to just open your mouth you know and just just be discreet be discreet just please please okay number two don’t tell
The members now when I say like show your interest you can show your interest by going to events but don’t sit up and come up to me and be like oh I’m going to be nak like I had this one girl that’s a friend of mine and she’s like
Yeah I’m gonna be I’m gonna do it so yeah and even with the guys like guys do not go up to a queue and be like yeah what a bra would be bras next spring and do not do that okay please don’t do it okay number three do not wear our stuff
Do not buy do not buy Perry if you are not a part of the organization if you’re not a part organization don’t don’t buy it I know a lot of people would I’d be like okay I’m gonna join this far so let me start buying my stuff up now let me
Tell my mama you know I’m saying don’t do it you know also don’t wear the colors matching you know I’m saying like it’s especially few expressed interest don’t start wearing pink and green I know it match but don’t do that and it’s like don’t know pocket wear pink and
Green other than okay said I know I never I never warm pink a green before I was naked cuz like I mean I just wanna you got to go through a lot just to you know wear pink and green you know I’m saying okay next dude what was that that
Was number three next do number four oh yeah number four don’t go way No also y’all don’t throw up hand signs if I see you and you’re not a part of my organization it’s gonna be a problem like I’m like I’m not like physically gonna be like don’t do that get all in
Your face cuz like no I’m nothing like no but I will get offended and it is very disrespectful to a lot of Greeks if they see you you know jumping around like the brothers or you know doing the little shimmy and stuff like that like a lot of people worked for those letters
You know I’m saying like they they works for them they you know they show their passion they show determination to get these letters and if we see you throwing up our sign or saying our like you know Karl and I are like if we see you doing
Anything that you’re not supposed to do and it’s a part of our organization it will only make everything worse for you and you just don’t want to do that to yourself like don’t okay um so the dome number four don’t window-shop and when I say window-shop I would probably say
Like okay so you can go to different people’s events or whatever but I feel you should I just feel like after you show entrance and you like how do you put it like hmm just I don’t know how to put this y’all like don’t go to more
Than one informational like you I feel like events you can go to events you can go to people events because like like whoa okay so I’ve never been to adult events eight event before I joined a K because I knew what I wanted to do I did
My research the number one what you should do first and doing your research but like I just feel like if you go to them I don’t know bro like I don’t know y’all just don’t window-shop because like Greek the Greek community is so small and like once they know that you
You know like showing your face and multiple Delta’s events and you showing your face and motivators events and then you show you turn around try to show your face and modes but ok events it’s gonna really be like like especially informational it’s like I know like
A lot of people don’t really like for it because you have to sign in you know I’m saying like the Greek community a lot of Greek communities are small on college campus campuses or whatever so you just want to make sure that you you do the
Right thing yeah so the last don’t is to don’t be messy within your organization so once you join an organization don’t sit up here and start being messing with people your organization because that’s just gonna make it worse especially if it’s like I and I’m really
Big on this just because I believe in sisterhood and I haven’t personally been able to have the sisterhood that I wanted to or whatever but I feel like you should you should just like don’t be messy because these are people that you have to work with these are people that
You have to build the organization with and you don’t want to sit up here and you know just be messy because then it allows other Greeks that aren’t in your organization to weigh in on the situations that happen especially if it’s a small campus or it allows people
To you know assume stuff which people are gonna soon regardless but if you keep your organization intact and you keep the sisterhood and the Brotherhood you know like the way that they’re supposed to be like you know I’m saying like I feel like a lot of people you
Know like they get a big they join an organization they think that you know they’re bigger than everybody that’s in that organization and that’s not the case so don’t be messy don’t be a messy server or don’t be a master a messy brother like just be you know be down
For the organization be down for the cause and what the organization stands for and you know like once everybody is on the same page the organization will flourish and yeah so that was my do’s and don’ts you guys I’m sorry it’s so long it’s 19 minutes I’m gonna wrap it
