Come but before we do that we have a wonderful country living segment with sister Doris and now I realize now that wherever where I go I got to mention y’all now cuz I went to Florida a couple of weeks ago somebody said how come you didn’t bring Doris and Jerry with you
And stuff I so I’m going to Cayman and for those of you that are watching in Cayman Islands we’re going to start tomorrow for our week of prayer our camp meeting in Cayman Islands tomorrow and um I’m sorry I can’t bring y’all to Cayman Islands I

One of the missions of country living this country living segment is to support self um sustaining Ministries to actually let me take off my glasses so it it is to when I say support other Ministries to let us know what’s happening in our communities because networking that is another one um
Because so many times that um we watch you know programs on Zoom or on tv YouTube and so forth and they seem so far but these small Ministries that are doing great things we Overlook and they’re not well supported financially and the news is not out there that
That’s around so that’s one of the um the missions and the priorities of this country living segment so for the next couple of weeks I’m going to be bringing in ministries that are doing great things right around us and that they could use support um your prayers they
Could use support financially and also they could use support in you helping them in any kind of way and and I will explain it as I interview each one today we have um Mr John Glick and he has a powerful um testimony and he came from the Amish community and we’re
Going to talk about it it’s going to be this is part one because we’re not going to get through it today I can tell you that right now but before I do that I just want to say hello to one of our visitors here her name is Sylvia and I’m
Telling you she’s like my twin she has so much passion for Ministry she’s a health and Temperance leader in Chattanooga and she was just telling me one of the ideas that I had wanted to bring here to this church I’m not the health and Temperance leader now but I’m
Telling you she was talking to me and I’m just that burning passion was just going and we it’s like we sisters aren’t we but anyway more to come and that’s a Ministry in itself so I just want to say thank you thank you for putting that
Fire under me and it’s like just just like talking to a sister that I’m you know like we just grew up together and that’s how the Holy Spirit Works isn’t it so without further ado I would start off and I’m going to ask you just to um
Say who you are yes I’m John Glick I grew up in Madina County Ohio which is about 30 minutes south of Lake giri um west of acan if anybody’s familiar with that area um in an Amish community of about uh well there’s about 400 families
There now so uh grew up in a very uh Christian home very good Christian home um my dad was a minister uh for as long as I remember he was ordained minister before I was born and then he got ordained Bishop in 2001 I believe and uh
From that point on uh me and him learned a lot of scriptures together and as we go into our testimony um we’ll uh some of that will come in there so he knows I got a lot of questions to ask sorry I I don’t want to leave my family out now I
Have I I got married in 2009 and we have eight children at this time and uh so uh they wanted to come along but there was a birthday party that they needed to attend uh this lady’s going through some struggles with her family and uh we were
Invited to the birthday party and and I said you can’t you can’t neglect that you need to go support her and it looks like uh um her husband is running away from him at this time and she’s she’s struggling so and she’s considering adventism so we really needed to be
There to support her and the children so amen you’re going to be here next week with your family too right that’s that’s the plan yes um I just want to say when I was talking to you on the phone and we were talking about this um interview one
Of the things that stuck with me you said that you were going to start you’re starting a Ministry and you putting a lot of thought in it and it’s similar to what we are talking about ourselves but having something on your um your property four times a year and you said
You gave me the reason why you going to limit it it regarding the family so so we this is a whole new thing the ministry that we are really feeling being called to is a long story how it led up to that but um sometimes um what how does it go in
The in spirit of Prophecy it says um he will um he will pull back blessings um I can’t I can’t say it right now um anyways we were searching you know we both grew up on a farm I was I grew up on a dairy farm my wife grew
Up on a dairy farm and uh we both thought that’s going to be our future plan you know we had no idea we wouldn’t be homish for the rest of our lives and that was always our dream is to grow up on a farm and well it was just too expensive at the
Time we got married we couldn’t afford it we tried different times even in the Amish and then we left the Amish and then I seen the push towards country living people um moving out of the country out in the city into the country and don’t know how to live in the
Country you know very well and uh I always said man if I ever have a farm I want to have it as a Ministry like a Christ op lesson Farm where people can come out and hands-on experience but I see so many times and even the
Bible we see it uh Samuel did it um there were numbers of different people that were in the ministry that lost their own family while they were ministering and reaching the world and that is one thing that I am dieh heart that serious I do
Not want to let happen by God’s grace um my family is going to be priority over anything so that is what you were bringing up there just a little bit and and this whole Ministry thing is is just in its start we don’t have any board
Member yet we’re working on it um I was against self-supporting Ministry long story there I don’t want to go into all that but God really took us down this summer uh financially he uh he kept um he put us into poverty and um it took
Us on our knees and just begging and and I was struggling with things that my wife didn’t know I was struggling with she was struggling with things I didn’t know she was struggling with and it was the same thing it was just why are we still struggling not because I want to
Have a farm but I wanted to do it on my own finances my own um credit everything I wanted to run it all by myself and this is what God told me he said it’s not your when I finally just fell down on my face and I said God my kids are
Getting up to the age where I’m out working and I can’t be with all my children all the time pretty soon they’re going to be growing they’re going to be gone I I have never really spent a lot of valuable time with them like I grew up
And I said God you know what we need you know what we want why do you keep closing doors like this and he said it’s not your problem and that’s when I said and I always said people always told me since we left the amage they said you got a great voice
You know you should be speaking you should do this and you should do that and I said no I don’t feel that I don’t feel called by God as long as you’re telling me that I probably won’t do it but I said if God tells me if God calls
Me I will go and when he did I said no I did you ever did you ever listen ever watch watch the movie uh the the the the oh what’s it called it’s like a movie um on U William Miller how he yeah how he went out in the woods and he said
No that’s really how I felt I’m like no and then I finally talked to my wife and she said I’ve been struggling this it was the same thing if the God has told me the same thing and I said no again I said there’s no way
And so I was called to go to the general conference in uh in where’s that in over in DC there uh Maryland Silver Springs Maryland and we’re going through the white Estates and the the guy that was taken us through we came to the point where um Ellen White was kicked out of
The conference and she had gone to what’s what country did she go to Australia and then the fire happened in in uh Michigan and then she to rebuke letter her back and that was the very thing that was in there you’re trying to do it on your own power your own source
Your own judgment you’re not relying on God and I’m like that’s exactly what I was trying to do so what you’re saying is that when God is leading you you have to hear his voice you can’t hear others so I just want to encourage people when they considering country living and
People are telling them when to go and how to go make sure that you have that personal connection with God because also what I’m hearing that even as a man of your experience in the country things can get difficult and just like our Sabbath school lesson when we’re talking about Abraham leaving and
The first thing that he ran into was a famine yes and if he had doubt to say that wow you know maybe this is not what God wanted me to do so you have to have a madeup mind and I’m talking to anyone of God calling you if someone tells you
To do this and to do that and it can go for anything make sure that it is the holy spirit speaking to you and not people telling you and you’re doing it and going with the crowd right yes you know there’s there’s one thing that I see a lot and and even in
Our journey here as we’re as we’re traveling into this ministry it takes disciplined okay expound on that discipline so discipline is is the only way a Christian I believe will will function properly in in the country and probably in the city I don’t know C
So well for me it took a still I’m still being disciplined by it because it’s still a little bit humiliating but for the whole thing of going into Ministry where I would be opening up for donations to me for a long time that was so selfish and to me it looked like
Every single Ministry is out there only for the money amen okay and so I didn’t want to that’s why I wanted to do it on my own but God said it’s not your problem it’s my problem so really I told my wife the other night I said really the more I look into
It the more unselfish it is because now when I give myself into Ministry where I’m not I don’t have the financial means to to run this whole thing now I got to open it up for other people for God to intervene okay and in order to have a
Ministry like that it’s not just me running it I have to give myself under a board member which there’s maybe three four five six boards you know whatever you come up with so you got to work with them it’s actually very unselfish very opposite from what I was looking at it
And I believe it’s it’s like that a lot of times when we uh I I see people moving from the city to the country experiencing that very thing and it’s just like a child okay when a child is growing up we have a eight-month old baby and without disciplined he is an absolute
Mess but a baby understands at a very young age I can say no and he looks at me and then he starts going for it and then I hit his hand and then he understands that’s what’s called discipline that’s why God sometimes has to slap us around you know and even even
With same same way with country living you know we want to do something this baby wants this so bad like he’s sitting on on on my wife’s lap and we’re eating and he wants to just grap for all the food in the plate no that’s not what
Your hand is supposed to do and they and people say oh baby’s a baby no a baby knows and you start them out at a young age so so this the whole thing of of country living me going into Ministry that’s why I’m saying without discipline I it’s almost like
Faith without faith it’s impossible to please God I believe it’s kind of like that without discipline it’s impossible to please God so so listen thank you Amish Seventh Day Adventist and then country living we always look and I say we but many of us I do always think that
The Amish have it made they know that lifestyle and so we think that you all can do and when I say that yes anything gardening making Furniture you know so when you come into the Seventh Day Adventist faith and you see us how do you see us it was very
Interesting um so you know we grew up and how can you help us so so I guess this is the thing we we as Seventh Day Adventist have a fountain of Truth with the with the uh with the uh all the spirit of prophecies okay um one thing that would completely blew
Our mind this was just one thing um was adventus home we start reading aten’s home and I I think everything I I don’t know was there anything missing in there that we were not taught at home now but we did not have that consing outside just generation after
Generation passing down to our our parents right well here we go in Seventh Day Advent settings and we see everything but that yet they have that Spirit of Prophecy to be teaching and so it just you know when you when you grow up with that and then
You see that the prophet is actually confirming how you grew up it is so rewarding it is so awesome and so that is one thing and and that right there brings in a whole bunch a big amount of discipline right in there you know reading aten’s home
That’s what you would encourage us man aten’s home is it it’s been lost so much and I see um I just found out that that you know my nieces and nephews in Upstate New York um even though we grew up with that solid discipline thing
We live in such an immoral stage and and I see you know for a long time me and my wife when we grew up this has only been 15 20 25 years ago it’s not that long wait how long have you been a Adventist uh seven years seven years so how hard
Was it for you to come out it was really hard it was so and are you the only one that have come out so I have a brother that left and he keep a Sabbath but he is very against uh the spirit of Prophecy very against um and uh we I ran
Into a few arguments with him on it and uh he said well all her writings is just uh you know or 90% of it is is you know copyright you know and I said okay I said if that is why you are throwing her out the window then you also need to
Throw out the New Testament because most of the New Testament is copied from the Old Testament that’s right that’s right and uh he walked away he didn’t want to hear me but um so you know he’s still a brother he would give off his his his shirt right off his back to help
Somebody he’s a very uh very generous guy very charitable guy um so there’s a positive note to him and so yeah my wife is the only of her family that left um and her family is starting to Crunch down more and more on her um just to
Tell you how hard it was now so a lot of people they get reached by uh tracks Evangelistic you know series uh people bring English Bibles to them all these kind of stuff for us we got we were we got saved by persecution within and by my parents and that’s
Where I want to go into with how I grew up um my dad was a bishop and he was a loud thinker and so in an Amish setting the bishop or the minister the ministers they will memorize the scriptures all the way from creation all
The way to well there’s the the the like the Sabbath School part of their theirs would be creation up until Noah went out of the Ark and then the story of um the Israelites from uh when Noah went out of the ark all the way up until they took AI in
That’s a 4-Hour sermon that they need to memorize and then they also memorize Joseph and his story and and there’s just a bunch of different things but the bishop he will have to memorize parts of the apocy books which they preach right out of the apocy books so my dad
Um memorized all these things instead of taking his Bible out in the workplace out in the farm he would have me or some of my brother brothers or sisters write it out and and we’re reading in uh in high German so we don’t write in high German we use the English alphabets to
Write the high German language so we’re writing the high German language in English alphabets and he would put it in a folder and he would tell us what he needs copy what he needs to memorize so by you know when you read something that puts an impression on your mind when you
Write something if that’s why sometimes you make a note of something and you forget your note but you can remember everything you’re supposed to get at the store it’s because you wrote it down so writing the scriptures down for my dad helped me tremendously and then not just that he’s
Out in the we’re out there husking corn you know we’re throwing corn and he has his his his homemade Bible on the wagon and he would go over and he would he would memorize a verse and then he’s saying it and saying it and say it until
He memorized and then he goes and gets another one and we’re memorizing it with him and then not just that on in in in this Amish Circle that I grew up with which is called Schwartz and Trooper Amish um Bible studies are completely forbidden you cannot study the Bible you
Can read the Bible you’re encouraged to read the Bible but if you have any questions concerning what the Bible is talking about you talk to the ministers or the bishop and if you have those concerns many times the question arises in the bishop or The Minister’s mind
What is going on with you why are you even questioning me why are you even questioning the Bible so you don’t really dare talk about it you can talk about God but if you talk about Jesus you’re being deceived you can come in with you loaded up with cigars but if
You come in church with the Bible under your arm you’re deceived so you can smoke all day day long C hours all day long in church but you cannot bring the Bible to church so um they’re very difficult people to reach um and and for me it took
Persecution within my own people and because my dad was instilling these verses in me and he thought he’s doing it to serve God through the rules of the church that was his intention but when I got sprinkled in the Amish I thought that I’m being baptized into the father
Son and Holy Spirit because they use those three words and they had me confess that Jesus came in the flesh and is the Son of God so I was completely and then after the baptism the sprinkling they they sang a song which they always do after
Baptism and that is it’s a prayer that one of our ancestors wrote when they were in dungeons and in the song it says it’s begging God to write his law in your heart and I remember I’m an 18-year-old boy and I I started crying I got emotional I was so serious I was
Reading these words as we’re sing them so you were believing all of this you were I was I was I believe at that time I was totally born again and I wanted God to write his law I don’t I didn’t want to ever sin in my life and I felt
Really embarrassed for an 18-year-old boys sitting there in church crying nobody else would do that and I’d try to you know hide it and you know so fast forward to the time we were that we were being excommunicated I asked my father-in-law I said why so until from that point from the
Time I was baptized till we actually went left the church we go to funerals and they would say this go ahead so when you were 18 and you got baptized what made you turn start turning to a different belief system it did I didn’t that right I didn’t right away it it
Took it took me oh well I was 30 years old when we finally left um okay so I guess what got me questioning was was where I was just going into funerals is really what got me to thinking okay so I go to these funerals and you know here I’m sitting
Here I was baptized at 18 years old or sprinkled and I believe I was baptized with the holy spirit because of of how serious I was to follow the law of God and I kind of Twisted the law of God to the rules of the church but that was the
Best understanding I had right I still wanted to do what’s right and the Holy Spirit was so deep impressing in me that I got emotional like God how I can’t do this by myself you have to write this in my heart and then we go to funerals and
They say this brother or this sister that had passed away um was faithful to the rules of the church therefore on that account they have hope that she or he will be in heaven and I remember going home just agonizing just like how is this possible if it is through the
Rules of the church there is no way that I will ever enter the kingdom of heaven and I know my dad broke the rules my mom broke the rules all my brothers and sisters broke the rules our Bishop is breaking the rules so H how can they say
That when we got baptized they said it’s only through the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit it’s only through Jesus that we entered the kingdom of heaven now they’re saying it’s through the rules so it’s just a a huge confusion in my mind and and this went on for years you know
From 18 all the way till I was 30 and finally I was questioning if they are baptizing me or if if they’re baptizing their people to the Jesus Christ that was and is and is to come because if somebody leaves the church that they were baptized in they
Get shunned and so I asked my father I said okay so if why I asked them I said why do we shun somebody if they leave the church that they were baptized to and still believe in Jesus Christ that wasn’t isn’t is to come and he had no clue how
Well he answered that and I hear this phrase in the Seventh Day Adventist I was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church really does the church save you is it through the church or are you baptized to the son that hung on the cross died for your sins and Rose the third
Day that is who we as Seventh Day Advent people should be baptizing people into not the church if you want to become a member of the church hallelujah amen I love that but don’t refer the church as Jesus it’s the body of Jesus not not the one that actually saves you
So anyways I uh I question him that and U he said well it’s been for a long time our tradition that if somebody leaves the church that they were baptized to that we will have to shun them what does shun mean just for the people so in
In our in our Circle shunning means completely um complete uh oh what’s the right word to put in there completely cut off okay so you know how the how the Bible says that in the last days you won’t be able to buy and sell you are
Big on the mark of the beast in this church which I really appreciate actually our church the anabaptist 7th Day Adventist Church up in Ohio follows you guys um on your uh Sunday law update it’s it’s really good so who follows us uh the anabaptist 7th our church up in Ohio
Oh they watch us yes yes yes their head Elder uh really follows you guys close so he might be watching us today I don’t know anyways um where was I going sh oh shiny so the mark of the beast is actually being practiced amongst our people so if
We refuse so they actually call and I didn’t know that until a couple of months before we left that we actually call the rules of the church Our God and also our savior which now it made sense once the bishop actually told me that now it makes sense why they
Preach in in funerals the way they do you know so anyways if we refuse to worship the image of the Beast or the number of his name or there’s three options right I’m trying to think which what three options is the Beast the image of the Beast or the number of his
Name right so if we refuse to worship or call the Amish rules a God or our savior if we talk anything against the rules of the church we are completely cut off there’s no no buying no selling there’s no family there’s not supposed to be any family they’re
Starting to really cut down on that um my mom’s funeral was a couple months ago we were welcom there a month later my brother passed away they said we can’t even view him after his death we can’t be in his funeral or anything like that so we are it’s getting they’re
They’re they’re crunching out and and and that’s just what we’ve seen in my mom’s funeral was an element of of what I grew up with she had the love of Christ and my oldest brother drowned um about seven eight months after we left the Amish and we went there
Completely we didn’t even drive there we we traveled there on Amtrak with all the rest of the Amish out of their respect we got there we went in um I still had long hair I I cut my hair now to you guys I still look like an Amish man but
To them I I am very worldly um I still had long hair I I looked just like all the rest of them there and so was my brother was me my wife we had an eight-month-old baby and um my brother and his wife so we got there and uh this
Got time to to go to to you know to find a place to sleep and this is a small community probably I don’t know maybe a hundred families probably not and there’s couple hundred maybe a thousand people there that need a place to sleep and Amish people don’t use hotels they
They go to other friends Farms so we go in and we ask my brother that was still Amish we said hey U it’s about time to uh you know settle down and find a place to to uh sleep and I said me and my brother we can we can sleep in the hay
Mile we don’t need a bed we know there’s a lot of people but um our wives and the baby they kind of need a place to sleep so he said okay let me go see and so he goes out and he comes back in and in an Amish setting that’s another thing I
Really like about um and this is kind of something that goes into country living um it’s really hard to have a good country living without a community that is one thing that is almost crucial to be successful in country living is to have a community and so when a funeral
Happens in an Amish family the community steps in it’s actually against their policy against their rules for the direct family to do any surval work while the person after the person dies before he’s buried so the community comes in they cook all the food they feed the cows they milk the cows they
Feed the horses so one of the positive things about the Amish that we could take away is their Community involvement of helping so these are the things that um I would like to pull out like yes how can we do better in our community as an Adventist and living in the country
There’s one thing that really cripples us we can I know that the pastor is our time is up I said it goes by really fast and I was trying to kind of speed it up he’s going to come back you next week with his family and then we’ll ask some
More questions yes because so uh as far as it our occupation that we have as Seventh Day Advent is really cripples our ability to have a very strong Community okay when when every so deep isn’t that that’s going to take some time we’re going to have to get you on
Zoom because you said that you said it’s our occupation that cripples us yes so wouldn’t youall want to know what he means exactly by that so what I mean by that is just simply it’s it’s it’s simple as and and I’m not saying that the occupation is is bad you know
Everybody has to do you know so in our Circle in Amish Circle there’s no doctors there’s no Factory working you know you’re all basically farmers and and so when you’re a farmer how many Farmers we have here we say what two three so so when you’re a
Farmer you don’t you know you can pull off a day here to go help your neighbor right and then a day here a day there it’s not like when your when your occupation is is is at a you know assembly line or a doctor or whatever
It’s a total different role and it’s not all bad you just how to form a community with that occup patience I don’t know how to explain it because I didn’t grow up with it yes yes all right we’re going to I hear Pastor we’re going to um respect
His time and so forth so next week next week you’ll come back with your family and then we can follow up with that and um sister Palmer please keep that comment and that question so that we can start off with that would you have prayer for us

The United Nations for climate change conference that’s all it is it’s called the conference of parties and so what’s happening is is that um this is a annual event that’s going on and this is more of a worldwide thing and this is what the pope is coming now we know that one
Day um things are going to be closed on Sunday days and the Bible says all nations shall drink of the wine of the wrath of fornication so the question is are you drinking the wine and the wine is symbolic of what kind of Doctrine somebody false doctrines and we know what those

Mhm are we doing the will of Goda putting this Billboards up and it’s up right now in Birmingham Alabama amen this is in Birmingham right now and we got yes indeed brothers and S I told you I believe your pastor believes this message but look at this you got sday
Event that say we shouldn’t put this billboard up but it’s okay for this to be up look at that great cities attract great leaders you think that’s a good billb to put up if they could put that up then we could put this one up amen

Before so not just on the Sabbath but other things on other things so you you feel like this this understanding I mean that’s a big statement that’s a big statement you’re saying this understanding of the Sabbath and and God’s truth are opening your eyes to
Other truths I’ll tell you what I I know that’s a bold statement but that’s absolutely true once my wife and I read this book Ten Commandments twice removed and we were convinced that this book was scripturally sound and we embraced it at that moment in time as we embraced it it
Was as if the spirit of God just started pouring on us pouring on us brother and and it’s a sovereign thing it’s nothing we’ve done we’re not doing anything different than what we were doing before other than we’re just walking in the truth of this fourth Commandment yeah
And brother people now start coming into into our congregation and and and um they have said to us visitors would come for the first day and they would say wow there’s something here we feel the we felt the the presence of God when we walked in the door wow oh amazing yeah
And I’ll just tell you that’s because of the presence of God and that’s the sovereignty of God that that he He blesses those that walk in his Ten Commandment truth and now I’ve got all 10 there that I can work with by the way I do have a passion that every Pastor
