Teacher of the year Lake View Elementary School school this week and uh praise the Lord hallelujah so we thank God for you and we bless God for all of the Educators and administrators we thank God for what you do there is a word from the Lord amen amen it’s our
Custom that we stand for the reading of God’s word so let’s rest on our feet as we turn to Nehemiah the book of Nehemiah chapter 6 um and we’re going to start reading commence at verse one Nehemiah chapter 6 I’m we’re going to read from the new King James version um when you
Have it you can signify by saying I have the bread I have the bread you’re saying that but your thumbs are still moving so I give you a few more moments um if you need some time just say wait a minute see there I told you all right Nehemiah
Is in the Old Testament praise the Lord Nehemiah chapter 6 verse 1 we’re going to read 1 through n is that all right okay it says now what happened when selot tobiah and jessum the Arab and the rest of our enemies heard that I had rebuilt the wall and that there were no
Braks left in it though at that time I had not hung the doors in the gates that sandalon and jesum sent to me saying come let us meet together among the villages in the plain of Ono but they thought to do me harm so I sent messagers to them saying I am
Doing a great work so that I cannot come down why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you but they sent me this message four times and I answered them in the same manner and selot sent his servant to me as before
The fifth time with an open letter in his hand in it was written it is reported among the Nations and jesum says that you and the Jews plan to Rebel therefore according to these rumors you are rebuilding the wall and you may be their King that you may be
Their king and you have also appointed prophets to Proclaim concerning you at Jerusalem saying there is a king in Judah now these matters will be reported to the king so come therefore and let us salt together then I sent to him saying no such things as you are say being done
But you invent them in your own heart for they all were trying to make us afraid saying their hands will be weakened in the work and it will not be done now therefore oh God strengthen my hands strengthen my hands if we could put a title in the
Text it would be stick to the plan look at your neighbor and say stick to the plan stick to the plan stick to the plan stick to the plan this is the first Sunday of the month of November and our theme for the month is reciprocity uh where we get the phrase
From you reap what you sow and um as we begin to look at and examine this text for the next few moments through that lens and and we believe that God is going to say something special to us but um it’s talking about how God has a plan
For your life and that there will be times of adversity and Times of opposition but if you sew into the plan that you want to see from God God will bring it into fruition it doesn’t happen just by happen stance but there is a place called in between in between the
Promise that he made to you and the Fulfillment of the promise and there will be times where you will be required to sew in the midst of that season called in between in order for you to reap what it is that you’re expecting God to do amen let’s pray together for a
Moment father we honor you and we thank you now for this time of preaching we ask Lord that you would U please accept these words let them been pleasing in your sight I pray God that you would break up the ground of these women men and women and boys and girls their
Hearts that they would uh have and receive this word like a seed in Fertile ground that faith would increase trust would increase hope and love would increase father that you would have your way in their lives we thank you that man cannot live by bread alone but by every
Word that proceeds out of your mouth for the grass May wither and the flowers May fade but the word of God is what stands forever we thank you now in jesus’ name all of God’s people said amen amen stick to the plan stick to the plan listen in April of 1979 um there

Song um and I discovered a new found love for the song because it used to be in my mind just something that played in the background where I got my hot fried fish but but now I I’ve discovered this New Found Love not just because of um
The alluring Hook and the melody um but I love it just because I recently took the time to read the lyrics um that the artists were singing and I I want to read this to you I know you you know it so I’m sure you’ll take over in a moment
Um but listen to the verse it says um there’s been so many things that’s held us down but now it looks like things are finally coming around I know we’ve got a long long way to go and where we end up wait a minute I’m can I
Okay but we won’t let nothing hold us back we’re putting ourselves together we’re polishing up our act well and if you’ve ever been held down before I know you refuse to be held down anymore here’s the various don’t you let nothing nothing stand in your way I want you to

Now we’ve got the groove I know y’all didn’t expect to have flashbacks of the soul train show in church this morning uh but it’s something so powerful about those words of affirmation and validation that mcfaden and Whitehead I believe didn’t even realize that they were making a prophetic declaration over
Your life ain’t no stopping you now you’re on the move and I know it’s early in the sermon this morning but I hope I can just get at least a hundred people in the room that can receive this prophetic word this morning that there is a spirit of Grace that’s about to hit
Your life in this season and God said if you obey me and stay in my will you will be unstoppable I came this morning to encourage you that in spite of the opposition you’ve had to face in spite of the lies you’ve heard on and about
You and even in spite of the people you’ve lost on your journey God has placed something called favor on your life and because of that thing called favor you will be unstoppable at accomplishing what God has called you to do do me a favor for the first time Miss
Williams and tap your neighbor on the shoulder and say don’t let nothing stand in your way because God has got something great in store for you tell them don’t let nothing stand in your way because God is about to blow your mind tell them you better not let nothing stand in your way
Because God is about to do exceedingly abundantly if I can be a prophet in the house above all you could ever ask or think according to the the power that works in you look at the people on your row and say don’t let nothing stand in your
Way y’all sit down you pushing me too fast you pushing me too fast I’m trying I I try but you’ve got to stick to the plan there are some people that I am assigned to this morning that need to know that you have to stick to the plan and keep
Building even in the midst of opposition even in the midst of your enemies even in the midst of your own weaknesses you’ve got to pull yourself together polish up your act and stick to the plan and this is the lesson we can learn through the homolytic extraction of our
Paropy that is the story of Nehemiah let’s make haste as my grandmother would say cuz I ain’t got but 15 more minutes and then we’ll extract some things and then we’ll go about our day uh this afternoon so just a a bit of a backstory before we deal
With the happenings found in chapter 6 we must first understand the history of how these things came to be here we have the children of Israel as we have been accustomed to reading have been in one of their many e and flows in their relationship with God and
Now here we find them on the menend they’re trying to regroup from being in Babylonian captivity they have been exiled for their land for a number of years from their land for a number of years and now they finally get to return home and one of the first things they do
In the book of Ezra which is the book before this one is rebuild the Temple so they were in slavery and captivity for a number of years and when they finally get to return home the first thing on the agenda of the leaders is that they rebuild the Temple now today text focus
Is on Nehemiah rebuilding the city wall but we cannot negate the significance of the order in which the restoration takes place The Story Goes they rebuild the Temple before they rebuild the wall and we can’t just Overlook that detail because I believe that everything that’s mentioned in the text is mentioned for a
Specific reason not just there to take up space so we find that the leaders decide to rebuild the Temple first and then they rebuild the wall second hear me clearly rebuilding the temple was to reestablish a connection with God but rebuilding the wall was for the safety
Of the people okay let me say it like this rebuilding the temple was about God but rebuilding the wall was about God’s people rebuilding the temple was about reconnecting our vertical relationship but rebuilding the wall was about the connectivity of our horizontal relationship my brothers and sisters God
Is saying I’m more concerned with how your heart is postured towards me more than I’m concerned with the work you say you’re doing for me see the temple represented their connection with God and the foundation and the substance of their faith so if they would have rebuilt the wall first without
Rebuilding the temple they would be fortifying a city with no substance on the inside if they would have rebuil the wall first it would have been like remodeling a house on a cracked foundation after a while it’s all going to come tumbling down and don’t get me
Wrong folks it’s good for us to work for God and it’s good for us to be used by God and be busy in the service for God but the danger is that if we’re not careful and if we don’t properly prioritize the matters of our hearts and
Our lives we can throw him away and Ministry can then become Our God because the scary thing I’ve discovered about God is he will let you do the work for him without the connection to him you don’t believe me in Matthew chapter 7 Jesus was teaching the people and he
Said not everyone who says to me Lord Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven for many will say to me did we not prophesy in your name that’s Works didn’t we cast out demons in your name that’s Works didn’t we do many great things in your name and Jesus will say
Depart from me for I never knew you you workers of iniquity they did the work for god without the connection to God and God is saying if you want to be a part of my plan and if you want to serve my people and if you want to be
Authentically used by me on the earth you better make sure you rebuild the Temple before you rebuild the wall get your connection with me established and as a result I will send you out to serve my people but see we have a problem here and 2023 because we have our priorities
All messed up because see we want to be successful and we want to be well known and we want to have that blue check mark beside our name on Facebook and Instagram and we want to be known by our titles and our accolades and we want to
Collect all of our degrees and our name designations and we want to network and join sororities and fraternities and build Our Brands and our businesses and we want to be blessed in the city and blessed in the field because God has called us and God has favored us God has
Planned it all out for us and that’s all good and cool we got all this stuff going on and we’re doing all this stuff but we can never forget that the only thing that will sustain you is your connection to God look at your neighbor
And say whatever you do I don’t care how busy you get you better not lose that connection you got to stay connected how can you lead worship and you don’t spend time in God’s Presence at home how in the world are you a Deacon and you in
The church and you don’t have a personal prayer life how is it is that God has called you to start all these nonprofits and all these businesses and he said you still got unfinished business with me what profit a man to gain the whole world and to lose his [Applause]
Soul the right way to build for God is to First make sure you have a secure connection to God you got to stick to the plan and that’s first knowing that your priorities have to be in order the anointing flows down everything flows from your connection and your worship
And your personal communion with god let’s go deeper is it all right for me to go deeper when when when God’s plan for Nehemiah is first introduced the Bible says Nehemiah was the king uh was with the King named AR Xerxes and what happens is the king noticed that
Nehemiah’s face and his countenance was off the king looks at Nehemiah and asks why do you have sorrow in your heart and Nehemiah said how can I not be sad when the city that God promised me and my people and the city where my ancestors
Are buried is lying in waste how could I not be sad when people are in my city with no walls and no protection how could I not be sad when there’s so much work that needs to be done in the city of Judah and so we see that the plan and
The purpose of God on your life will most often be placed on you as a response to the needs of God’s people one of the reasons why I I our pastor the way I do is because often times when we’re in meetings discussing events and things of that nature different plans
For the church um one of the questions he always ask us is is there a need he always says we shouldn’t be doing something just for the sake of doing it but what we should do should always be done as a response to the needs of God’s people and I want to let
You know that the plan of God on your life and the purpose of God on your life has been given to you to answer the need of somebody else okay let me take a little bit further Nehemiah was cut beared to the king that was his job that
Was his occupation which means that he was close to the king he was trusted by the king he was to watch over the king’s cup and guard it against poison Nehemiah was well respected he was highly regarded and most likely highly compensated as a result of his position
But here it is even though he had arrived to a place of great success in his life he couldn’t Overlook the fact that there was a need that had to he had the ability to meet and that’s why you got to stick to the plan because you
Don’t know whose life is on the other side of your act of obedience you’ve got to stick to the plan because there’s some woman there’s some man there’s some young black boy with no role model there’s some teenage girl that might have low self-esteem that’s been
Assigned to your life here it is and the oil that’s on your life has the power to meet the need in their life and the plan of God being fulfilled in your life could mean life or death for somebody else and that’s the reason my brothers
And sisters why God has you where he has you because he has set you up with the Divine ability to carry out your assignment do you actually think that God blessed you just so you can keep it all to yourself you me to tell me he
Gave you that BMW and you too good to give somebody else a ride to church he blessed you with all those degrees and all those businesses and you ain’t got the time in your schedule to Mentor somebody else the devil is a liar if I can help somebody as I pass along the
Way that means my living will not be in vain the reason why you are who you are and why you got what you got is not just to keep it all to yourself but it’s so that God can be glorified and his people can be edified you are a blessing you
Are blessed just to be a blessing watch this and on the flip side you ought to be grateful that God sent some folk in your life to help you out in your own time of need lord I can’t stand when church folks get amnesia don’t y’all play with
Me in here this morning you know you ain’t always had it all together you know you ain’t always had it all figured out you know you used to rob Peter to pay paw you know you used to be strung out and strung up but God placed a
Burden on somebody’s heart for you and that person didn’t mind taking out the time to help you and you are not mind letting God use you to help somebody else you are not mine God using you because he’s placed a burden on your life for a reason he’s blessed you with those
Resources for a reason that you can open up your hand and say I’m going to release this to you because I see something on the inside of you after examine in the text and I’m almost done study a little bit further you’ll see that not only did the King Grant
Nehemiah’s FMLA request for a leave of absence but the Bible says that he sent him to Judah with the captain of the army to go along with him to Aid him in completing the task you just miss your sh and you don’t even know it that’s Nehemiah chapter 2 verse N9 I really
Want you to think about this Nehemiah left the kingdom Persia he went to Judah because he had an assignment on his life to travel to Judah and to rebuild the wall but he didn’t go alone because the S the king sent the captains of the royal Army to go along with him y’all
Still ain’t got it over here I’ll talk to people here the Bible says that the king sent Nehemiah on his way but here it is he says I’m not going to send you to Judah by yourself he sent the captains of the army to go with him in other words here
It is Nehemiah didn’t go on the journey by himself but watch this he went with the protection of the king y’all Miss shouting q and this is just for five or six of y’all in here to receive it I don’t care what you feel like you’ve been called to do and I
Don’t care how scary a calling might seem when it’s staring you in the face I don’t care how risky you might feel like it might be I’m here to remind you that you have the protection of the king look at the people on your road real quick
And tell them I might look like I’m alone but you got it all wrong I come with security detail I got the protection of the King come on look at him and say you got it all wrong this journey is way too much for me to try to
Do it on my own I got the protection of the king you better not try no funny business when it comes to me I got the protection of the king that means I’m covered by the blood of Jesus that means there’s a head of protection all around me that means Heaven’s armies are
Backing me up as a matter of fact grandma said it like this she said all night all day angels are watching over for me you ought to take just the next 30 seconds that you got the protection of the king I don’t know how dark the
Day might be for you it doesn’t even matter but I got the protection of the king when somebody might come against you all you got to do is do this every once in a while when people get on your nerves on the job and
Threaten you you got I got to just I got the protection I got something over me there’s Heaven backing me up there’s Heaven watching over me I got God’s Ang and his arm is that’s on my side because a thousand might fall on my left and
10,000 might fall on my right but the Lord promised me that none will come now my Dwelling Place I got a covering over my life uh so just take a moment prophetically and say I got protection I got the protection of the king I’m almost done now thank you Jesus for protection
People trying to figure out why you ain’t die yet why you didn’t give up yet why you didn’t throw in the tower yet is because I got some reinforcements on my side when I feel like I’m at my lowest and I’m out of strength he said my
Strength is then made perfect in your weakness that’s exactly the formula that God needs to show up and show out I got the protection of Jesus on my [Applause] side here it is it’s important to know not that it took Nehemiah 52 days to finish the wall and here in chapter
Six he’s almost finished his assignment but you have to know that he didn’t do it by himself because when you follow the plan of God for your life there are two main types of people that I can almost guarantee you will have to encounter you ready for him yeah two main types of
People it’s real simple you got helpers and you got hinderers and look at the people on your room saying which one are you which one of you cuz in this season of my life I’m deciding to only surround myself with helpers in this season of my life I
Refuse to subject myself to dream Killers you know what a dream killer is somebody that’s always talk about I’m just being realistic and I I’m just telling you the truth and I’m just I I’m the one that don’t want I’m not telling you what you always want to hear no you
A dream killer because there’s some jealousy on the inside of you because I got a vision that goes further than what you can see you better make sure you check your circle I know I say it all the time but it’s just that important you better surround yourself with people
That’s going to speak faith into your life I’m determined to surround myself with helpers and never [Applause] Hinderers look at him again say which one of you which one which one of you now throughout the story you see where the helpers come into play neiah shares what God has placed on his heart to do once he arrived to Judah and the Bible says that the people
Then had a mind to work that means that the people that he spoke to were strengthened and they were encouraged and they were motivated to be able to do this work because he set the vision out for the people when you are pursuing the plan of God in your life
God will always provide you with the people and the resources you need to help you accomplish the task you ought to take 30 seconds and give God praise because you thought you were at your lowest point and there were times where you thought you might as well give up
But God sent something called a ram in the bush there was somebody that showed up out of nowhere and sent you there that random cash up for $50 so you could get to work and they had no idea you was at your last and your bank account you
Ought to take some time and give God praise for the person that said I want to take you out to lunch today and they had no idea that you had nothing but water and milk in your refrigerator you ought to take the time that God saw fit
To send somebody to help you out along the [Applause] way you got helpers and you got hinderers now those were the helpers but just as much as you see Nehemiah mentioned the helpers he also talks about the hinderers finally here it is all throughout the book of Nehemiah and now in our anchor text in chapter 6 verse
One excuse me we see that we have been given the names of three people that won’t seem to let Nehemiah be great you have selot who seems to be the ring leader amongst the three you have tobah and you have jessum the Arab from the beginning of the book all the way up
Until this point I could never figure out why this man selot was so intent on stopping Nehemiah from building this wall but then I remember that samalot was a Samaran and what you have to understand historically as the the Samaritans and the Jews never got along
And they never liked each other but even to make matters worse Nehemiah then if you remember in the beginning of the sermon he was a cup Bearer to the King which means that Nehemiah had favor from the King that was different than that of samalas can I tell you that there are
Some people in your life that have been strategically placed that will act as opposition to your purpose because they don’t believe that you belong where you are and they’re jealous of the favor of God that’s on your life you ought to look at somebody and say the favor I
Have doesn’t make me better it just makes me different it doesn’t make me better than you I’m just I just got a different relationship with him and more often than not them not liking you never has much to do with you but it has everything to do with them really not
Being fulfilled in themselves because every time they look at you they’re reminded of what they are lacking on the inside but let me tell you baby you better not dim your life for nobody Pastor Bell because God has placed something on the inside of you and you
Will created to shine in the midst of your haters shine in the midst of your jealous people shine in the midst of your adversaries This Little Light of Mine y’all y’all be seated be seated them not liking you has nothing it’s never about you but most of the time it’s about them
Cuz you remind them of something that they wish they had on the inside of them but all they got to do is open up in their own heart and their own mind and say God I just need you to give me me show me what I need to do it’s your walk
With God my walk with God and guess what your calling is your calling my calling is my calling and if we stay on the same track maybe we’ll cross path after a while I don’t know I’m done you got to stick to the plan and don’t let any opposition stop
You from doing what you know God has called you to do lastly when you have a true plan of God on your life and that this is my last point I promise I don’t I don’t have mer minutes I got stoked second so he said
If you have a true plan of God on your life you will always and should always be able to connect that plan to Jesus well I want to start a business where my question is how can Jesus be glorified I want to start a nonprofit how can Jesus be glorified I want to
Start a Min ministry will Jesus be glorified I want to be a hairdresser how are you going to glorify Jesus I want to become a pharmacist are you glorifying Jesus through that everything in your life should have some connection let us examine our hearts everything in your
Life should have some connection and we should be able to draw a line to Jesus Christ at some point in time if you say you are a Believer everything you do should be as you are doing it unto the Lord only 20% of y’all received that that’s all right that’s all right so
Lastly you ought to be able to see Jesus in every plan for your life if I can’t ask you if that plan is connected to Jesus and you can’t give me an answer I question if that’s the plan of God for you and I don’t and don’t get me wrong
You might not see it right off but somewhere along the line you should say this is what you’ve been talking about God I see it now and you should be able to Clearly say yes this is what God has planned for me stick to the plan in
Chapter 6 verse three here we here we are and I’m done after nehemiah’s enemies tried to get him to abort the plan of God for his life and Nehemiah said Lord I wish I could preach this thing the way I feel it he said I’m doing a great
Work and I will not come down I’m closing out now but Nehemiah was lifted up on a wall and four times he said they asked him to come on down and let’s have a conversation Nehemiah said they asked me the same thing every time and every time
I gave them the same answer I don’t know why they keep asking me I’m doing a great work and I will not come down he said a fifth time they asked them come on down let us have a conversation let’s consult about what it is that you’re doing he said the answer
Is still the same I’m doing a great work and I cannot come down why is it a great work because people’s lives are predicated based upon me finishing my assignment I’m lifted up doing and building this wall I’m doing a great work and I cannot come down but let me
Ask y’all a question as I get ready to go home don’t that sound like somebody y’all know over 2,000 years ago on one Friday evening there was a man by the name of Jesus the Christ that was nail to an Old Rugged Cross and the Bible says that he hung him between two
Thieves and the people knock mocked him saying if you are really the son of God he said why don’t you come down from the cross and save yourself and I don’t know about y’all this morning but I’m so glad that he stuck to the plan and the old
Song say he would not come down from that Old Rugged Cross just to save himself but he decided to die just to save me Jesus said this is a great work I’m doing and I cannot come down he said I got to see it through I
Got to finish the course I have to stick to the pl I have to finish the job and here’s my question to you all as I close what is it that God has called you to do that seems so great that seems so intimidating but you know God said it
And you trying to figure out how in the world I’m going to make it work out I don’t know Lord how I’m going to accomplish this but God said in this moment I’m giving you Supernatural strength to be able to complete the task and the call that I have placed on your
Life I know it might seem great I know there are times where you just don’t want to surrender but God said there’s another level that I’m calling you to I’m calling you to higher I’m calling you to better and no matter what the opposition is in your life God said I’m going to
Send some reinforcements to help you along the way rest on your feet all over the house I’m done but Nehemiah said they did all of this to try to weaken our hands for the work that’s why the Bible says that the enemy is the accuser of the
Brethren cuz when you get accused of stuff you know might not even be true it wears you out and in this season can I tell you that this is just an indication of something greater on the other side for you the devil is trying to wear you
Out but Nehemiah said but oh my God strengthen my hands and if you lift your hands and receive this God is sending you Supernatural strength to be able to complete the task at hand Supernatural strength to be able to keep pushing and keep persever in Supernatural
Strength to be able to push past the opposition Supernatural strength well Lord I’m weak he said that’s the perfect formula for me to step in because when I do it I’m the one who deserves the glory when it comes to pass I’m the one who deserves the
Credit father in the name of Jesus I thank you even now that you are giving and providing a Grace to these people in the sanctuary on and those that are watchiing online worshiping online you’re giv them a supernatural Grace to keep pressing and persevering in spite of their opposition father I
Don’t know what it is that you have called these individuals to do but I just believe he that has begun a good work in US is still able to perform it and complete it to the day of Jesus Christ I just believe father that you said you have all power in your hands
And that means you have the power to give us reinforcements to strengthen our hands for the work father in spite of what it is that they might face we thank you Lord that we can speak to mountains and mountains would be moved that we can speak to valleys and they would be
Raised up I thank you oh God that you are sending them the helpers that they need the village to surround them with the right people to get them to their called place in you I thank you Lord that you’re giving them ideas to write that book that you’re giving them the grants
To start that nonprofit I thank you that you’re giving them the intellect to be able to get that next degree I thank you oh God that you are giving them the strategies and the creativity to be able to do what it is you called them to do father and I
Thank you that they let they no longer operate in fear I sense that there are some people that are afraid to even verbalize what they feel like God has called them to do but God said in this season if you open up your mouth and
Begin to speak it he said I’m going to begin to attract the people and the resources that you need they’re going to come from the north the South the East and the west and you’re going to look around and say nobody could have done this but God I thank you even now that
The fresh wind of Revival is coming to them now and with this wind comes Resources with this wind comes the finances with this wind comes the people with this wind comes the influence in the name of Jesus I thank you even now that there are some people that you have called to step out of the boat that have that Peter anointing that they have been called to step out of the boat and walk on water to do what nobody else has ever seen
