Jewish people in the hour of need and in this Mon’s program we have a very special guest from the United States and originally from South Africa the former executive director of icj uh in Jerusalem uh Pastor Malcolm heading uh together with uh Pastor Jonathan Croft who’s a regional leader for icj UK so
Gentlemen welcome to the program thank you uh Malcolm I’ll start off with you um sadly this is a different program primarily because we would normally be talking about the success of the Feast of Tabernacles the fact that the ministry has brought over 3,000 Christians from around the world um to
Worship God in Jerusalem to stand with Israel and the Jewish people but of course the uh the vents of Saturday the 7th of October have completely overshadowed that as we know that Israel is at War but um share with us how you came to Faith uh in Yeshua and also how
You became the executive director of icj including in Jerusalem but including all the branches around the world well thank you Simon and it’s a wonderful blessing to be with you and with all our audience today thank you for tuning in to this remarkable program we are
Grateful for all that you do I came to Faith in um 1966 as a 14-year-old boy essentially it it was the first step I didn’t really come to Faith that day but Jesus appeared to me during the Holy Week of Easter as we called it in the traditional churches and during that
Week uh Jesus uh appeared to me in the garden of my home and it it was astonishing it was unexpected uh suddenly everything around me became fluid like water even the house the bricks everything the trees they suddenly became fluid and out of this fluidness stepped uh Jesus of Nazareth
And uh he spoke to me and he told me to get a Bible and I got it and uh I didn’t know what to do with it I was overwhelmed so I just opened it and it opened on Isaiah 32 and verse4 where we read uh the mind of the Hasty will
Discern the truth and the tongue of the stammerer will hasten to speak clearly and uh I was a stutterer at the time and uh I could couldn’t really speak publicly in any way I was taken out of classes at school to receive speech therapy and so Jesus spoke to me uh from
That verse and and then he said to me that in the years to come which was interesting I have to talk to him about this because he wasn’t a good evangelist he said uh in the years to come I will return to you I will uh save you I will
Heal you of your impediment I will send you out to the whole world to preach and with that everything began to come together again and he sort of stepped out of this fluidness and he was gone but there was this type of presence which was incredible that hung around my
Life for about 3 weeks after that it got weaker with every day but it made a big impression upon me and I really got to know what it felt like and then some years later when I was out of school and studying at University I came home one
Night uh after being out with u my that time my fiance my girlfriend type of thing and dropped off went home to my apartment and as I walked into the apartment it I walked into this remarkable presence again that I came to recognize when I was so young it filled
The whole apartment and a voice clearly spoke inside me and said this is the night I spoke to you about and so that night I knew that I had to repent of my sins in fact a a a real strong conviction of sin came over me I’ll never forget it I was absolutely
Distraught about my wickedness and sinfulness and uh so I gave my heart to Jesus having repented of that and the next morning I woke up I’ve never started again amazing and I went and preached to my girlfriend at that time who was Cheryl and she couldn’t believe the
Transformation in me and so she knelt down and gave her life to Jesus and that began our journey which was quite incredible so that’s how it all began and and I thank God for that and that’s how he saved me and in a way I know it
Sounds amazing and people think well why am I not special like it well you don’t have to be God knows how to reach people and I think because of the call over my life and what I’d have to deal with which I can’t tell you has been huge he
He somehow gave me something that I really knew that I knew that I knew that he touched my life and so it was wonderful I thank God for that amazing and you’ve done an amazing job as the executive director of icj bringing that theological strength to it and strengthening the the ministry around
The world as well so that’s uh that’s no that’s what happened and uh to answer the second part of that because of my theological education uh I came to see something in the Bible about the nation of Israel that my lecturers were not teaching me and uh they were substituting the name
Church for the name Israel in the Old Testament lectures and stuff and I just thought to myself this cannot be true because the Bible doesn’t say that first of all and how can you presume to do that you’re not letting the Bible speak for itself and I challenged my
Professors and you know I soon found out that they were into replacement theology ology that they discounted any further role for the Jewish people in history so they would replace everything that had to do with Israel with the church and I realized that’s not true because the god
Of the Bible made promises to the Jewish people in the abrahamic Covenant that not only of global salvation and and the World Redemption but of a particular piece of land that would be theirs forever and this Covenant is as powerful today as it ever was so I recogn ized
That the modern day restoration of Israel was not a political accident but the Fulfillment indeed of God’s promises to the Jewish people for the blessing of the world not in an end in itself God has dealt with them so that the world can be blessed and here we are there
Millions of Christians all over the world but their faith is Jewish like Jesus said salvation is of the Jews yeah come on amen amen I mean incredible sermon and um great to see see you as well uh Jonathan I’m well done for hosting the excellent icj London conference in in Westminster which we
Had uh Malcolm as as the guest speaker special speaker uh privilege for me to speak as well but well done for doing that um but this was in the midst of the Palestinian hate fest with over a thousand protesters marching the streets and having walk through that I can only
Describe that as horrific um share with us how important it is to have a London conference here in the capital and in Westminster itself I mean obviously Westminster is um a place where decisions are made politicians are there um so to have um a church there but also
To have a conference uh to talk about Israel is so so important so crucial so I think the the place where you are the location uh makes a massive difference and uh yes it was a great conference we had a great spe who unfolded the word of God to us um
And just to for me there’s more than um words are important and to Proclaim things in the Heavenly Realms makes a massive difference and so over um Westminster over that whole area trafala Square uh the you know the White Hall where the marches were going just to
Have a Christian voice speaking truth in that location for me is so so powerful and actually so crucial absolutely and I share with this Malcolm that you spoke on um the biblical perspective the importance of Israel and the Jewish people particularly as we know that Israel is under attack right now uh
We’ve seen on Saturday the 7th of October the biggest Mass terrorist attack in Israel’s history uh we can actually compare we haven’t seen anything like we saw that day since the Holocaust over 80 years ago and and can you believe it on the Streets of London
Uh we had jihadists we had supporters of the Palestinian calls chanting uh Palestine will be free from The River To The Sea which is incitement to genocide the hatred the violence and yet we see that God has a special place for Israel and the Jewish people in his heart yes I
Think it’s it’s absolutely true that um the restoration of Israel in our time is remarkable and against the tide of history and of course what the nation represents according to Psalm 83 is God himself in the world the hatred that people have for God is directed towards
The Jewish people because they are the visible representative of God after all they bear the name the god of Israel whom they serve and um and so what what we witnessed on that Saturday was uh the seventh was savagery and wickedness and evil raw evil and wickedness at a level
Uh that no one in the world who has any decency can ever justify or in any way try and equivocate with something that the Jewish people or the state of Israel has done they crossed a line a very very firm line into a savagery that is unbelievable and rightly did the
President of herzo say of the nation herzo say that the last time we saw this was in the Holocaust where the Germans did exactly the same thing so this is a spirit and you know it’s it’s rooted in the Palestinian Charter to this day and to the Charter of Hamas that both call
Actually for the total Destruction of the Jewish State and that is just a fact and it’s a fact that the politicians of the world want to ignore they want to run away from because they know the implications of it on their streets and you saw it here in London where the Same
Spirit was calling for the the total Destruction of the Jewish State they are not interested in a political uh settlement to this dispute they call for the fact that uh that Palestine will be free from The River To The Sea it means they are determined to exterminate the
Jews and liquidate them uh from the land of Canaan that God gave to them by promise Everlasting promise in the abrahamic Covenant the same promise that says a messiah would come and save the world the same promise that God gave by which he says all the families of the
World even the Arab families the Muslim families will be blessed by the god of Israel and uh and so we have to be very clear that we saw something so wicked and evil and Savage that is the outcome of a radical Islamic theology that is determined at all costs to destroy the
State of Israel and that’s what you heard on the streets of of London uh this very weekend yeah right now it’s very good description and um Jonathan I know that you didn’t attend this year’s uh Feast of Tabernacles um but there were over 3,000 uh Christians from all
Over the world gathered to celebrate uh the Feast of Tabernacles that was organized by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem um just share with us uh your thoughts of of the significance of of this year’s Feast knowing that the delegates were there when when is suffered its worst terrorist attack in
Its history yeah I mean um as IJ the feast is such an important event and so to to bring uh people from so many different nations uh together um at the Feast of Tabernacles is so so crucial um but it’s also you know they went up to
The Galilee um there’s a group that went down to the neev um near the Gaza Strip um and all of these things are so so important to be present in the land uh proclaiming the truth of who Yeshua is Jesus is uh in that time and and so for
Me the relevance of uh icj going for the length time it has the Feast of Tabernacles been such a key um part of who we are it is so so important that events like this uh to proclaim the the name of the Lord Jesus Christ uh across

Faith that you bring from 100 countries languages and cultures so today we all speak the same language the language of Faith the language of blessing the language of Peace the language of love and allow me to state in this context that the state of Israel will always preserve freedom of religion and worship
And seiz you as welcome guests and brothers and sisters of ours we will insist on protecting all of the religious communities and savu every site religious leader and human being as such this commitment goes in the very heart of who we are as a Jewish and Democratic State and it is not something
That we will ever compromise on so dear friends as We Gather here together in the city sacred to us soul I would like to offer a special prayer not only for Christian Community unities in the Holy Land but for Christian communities throughout the Middle East and the World
At Large a prayer of Peace fraternity and Brotherhood and Sisterhood thank you my friends and welcome to Yush congratulations to the icj organization and to Dr Jurgen buer I want to thank you for your consistent support for the state of Israel and I invite all our Christian friends to come to Jerusalem to celebrate with us the Feast of Tabernacle thank You and sadly that was before the horrific events of Saturday the 7th of October that not only shook Israel but also shook the world U Malcolm you you were there for the Feast of Tabernacles um share with us how you first learned about the horrors that were unfolding as
2,500 uh or more Hamas terrorists breached the most secure uh border crossing in the world with is Israel’s incredible high-tech technology um and of course the scenes now are something out of a of of a program yes uh the Feast of Tabernacles this year was a really spectacular event it was very
Blessed there was a wonderful sense of God in the meetings and in fact there were also Jewish and Arab Believers on the platform it just shows you the heart of our ministry that we know Jesus loves all the people of the Middle East the same way but we know that Israel has a
Peculiar and particular Destiny and that’s what we stand for because they are the vehicle of World Redemption so in a way after the feast I attended board meetings I’m on the international board and that was on the Friday and uh that board meetings always go too long
And that concluded and I went home and I had a wonderful Shabbat meal with my family and friends from Israel and w woke up in the morning uh just after 6:00 to hear the most incredible and sad news of of this breach of Israel security and of these
Thousands of terrorists that poured into the region and what people don’t know is these people savagely murdered people and killed them but approximately 4,000 palestin uh Palestinian citizens of Gaza followed them and looted the homes afterwards there were no television TVs computers they they looted the homes as
Well and they took them back to Gaza with the hostages so it was a terrible thing and as I’ve said before it crossed a line that is so wicked and evil that it’s just beyond anything we could ever think and you’ve all seen the the images
I mean they’re just hard to watch of uh people wrapped in burial cloths and babies heads were taken off and they were dismembered it’s just terrible I unfortunately I’ve seen the uh the videos from the IDF of the humas body cams and uh it’s worse than watching a
Horror film I’ve ever watched a horror film but I mean these are just you just can’t believe absolutely what’s happening just shooting innocent Israelis In Cold Blood and raping the woman like you cannot believe and just killing them afterwards beautiful girls I mean shocking absolutely the world can
Never just stand by and uh and say well this is a this is because of Israel some type of of equivalence that is absolute nonsense this is a time to stand up against barbarity and wickedness and evil just as the world stood up against Nazism amen this exactly what it is so
Um this is the message that the president of icj Dr yuren buer gave on the morning of Saturday the 7th of October which is a chilling Message Shalom everybody this is the last day of the Feast of of Tabernacles it’s called ater it is the morning where the whole Jewish Community here in Israel around the world is starting again the Torah cycle in the synagogues it’s a day of contemplation it’s a day
Where people seek the presence of the Lord we just come out of a very powerful Feast of Tabernacle celebration two days ago we were still down in the Gaza Strip for a special solidarity Mission meeting with the head of the uh netive Regional Council Mr pH lipstein and this morning
We we were waking up to tragic news Israel literally is at War at this stage uh we had thousands of Rocket this morning over the last 10 hours raining down over virtually most of the central part of Israel including here Jerusalem and uh many many many more Rockets down
In the southern area and uh what is even worse is that this morning Hamas terrorists infiltrated uh over the fence we still don’t know how they could manage manag to do that into Israeli communities along the uh border fence of Gaza ASAS there many places were hit by
Terrorist attack and uh as far as we know right now more than 20 Israelis have been killed there’s even talk about uh uh people being kidnapped and taken back over to Gaza this is a horrible day in the history of Israel many people are reminded today they say on yum kipur one
Of the holidays they are caught by a surprise attack in a very in the most utmost vicious way and this is also a day today where we really need to stand with Israel Israel is uh under attack in a very real way we have the F us in a
Personal way Mr ofia lipstein who was with us still two days ago the head of the Regional Council passed away this morning defending his community was brutally cold-bloodedly murdered by a Hamas terrorist as he was standing up for his community our prayers and our thoughts are with him but this is a time
Where the Christian Community around the world is called from the very onset of that conflict to stand with Israel in prayer and also in practical help we need your support in these critical times we are building bom shelers in the South they are today more needed than
Ever we are helping with other life saving equipment down in the South to help the bed communities there and also we want to join us in prayer we start as of today a special prayer ch that will accompany Israel during this critical time we will pray for the Peace of
Jerusalem for the safety of the people of Israel and if there was ever a time where Watchmen need to be called upon the walls of Jerusalem upon the nation of Israel it’s right now this time and I do ask you I plead with you to join us
In those pral meetings stand with us in practical ways support our branches that we can stand with Israel show our Christian love and support in this critical day to the nations of nation of Israel many blessings here from Israel and uh we will keep you updated God bless You and we have to remind ourselves that that Israel has never experienced anything uh like this in a history yes she’s faced major Wars the war of independence in 1948 The Six Day War in 1967 of course not forgetting the sew crisis in 56 and also the devastating
Attack that was the yapo which was almost 50 years is to the day uh of this hamus attack uh I want to bring in something that was really moving us as part of the Feast of Tabernacles Jonathan and and this was the fact that there was a delegation sent to the esol
Regional Council in in the ne next to the Gaza Strip where these beautiful Israeli kabut and communities live um and there was a a solidarity Mission as well as of course a beautiful nature park being built there as well um just share with us reflection of how uh this
Delegation of Christians from around the world met those leaders and now today sadly many of them are not here because they were BR brutally murdered defending their communities yeah I mean you there’s no words really is there uh when you think that there was a delegation going into
That you know that same area that the infiltration U from the Gaza Strip came in with the terrorists um you know and and the beauty of that area with what we’re icj with this national park with the tree planting um and the support for that whole area and the people groups
There um to now think of what has happened uh is a tragedy but again it’s something that as Christians we just need to uh take a look back and and yes see what’s happened there but also begin to pray for those people who are affected within that area uh from the
Delegation that we’ve gone those those personal relationships there um and I think that we just need to as icj to continue to develop them and to see how best we can uh support them moving forward absolutely uh Malcolm yeah we mentioned earlier in the program that you were the executive director of icj
Uh in Jerusalem and you would have known uh these Comm leaders in the esol Regional Council in southern Israel that border the Gaza Strip um just unpack how heartbreaking that is when you have those personal relations with those Israeli Jewish people and then we see the magnitude of what happened on
Saturday the 7th of October yeah I remember in my office in 2005 when Israel withdrew from Gaza and actually even took her communities away 8,000 people were redeployed to other parts of the country and it was heartbreaking and Israel did this as an act of Goodwill
Actually people need to know this and it was an attempt even after the Oslo thing and within that framework to show some type of support for the gazin they even promised them that they’d build them an airport and other facilities and such if there was stability and no terrorism and
Anything like that and uh and of course all that dissipated because took over from the Palestinian Authority while I was on in office and brutally murdered the administrators of the Palestinian Authority by killing them in the streets and dragging them through the streets and throwing their leaders Palestinians
Of the high-rise buildings of Gaza and then the Rockets began and I remember having to go down to stat which was the major Village attacked and still is in this conflict and meeting with the regional leaders meeting with all these dear people uh that we uh came to know
And support and interacted with the International Christian Embassy began immediately to send bomb shelters down there and to supply the whole region with bomb shelters and to do that we’d have to interact with Regional Community leaders I remember going down there speaking to them I remember delivering
Bomb shelters to the region and uh dedicating them to schools and kindergarten Gardens and other Municipal facilities where people gathered and and then to hear that these people have been so brutally murdered and dismembered and just killed uh is just it’s just unbelievably heartbreaking and uh and
And terrifying and U and in such with such brutality uh and it’s a painful thing and uh and it’s it’s just hard to bear with because you knew them you spoke with them and and now they they’ve been murdered terrifying so let’s uh look at this
Excellent icj uh news report and uh this is called day seven highlights um and this is where Feast of Tabernacle sent a delegation of Christians around the world to uh those communities in the south of Israel to show solidarity with them not knowing the horrors of what would happen two days later
Welcome to day seven of the Feast of Tabernacles we are here in the Netive and this is a blessing to see you whole year coming year by year and giving us this kind of energy that we need in order to survive in this area which is not easy we say 20 99% of the days are magnificent and there are those days
That you woke up along the last years it’s been a while we’ve been experiencing the terror attacks by flying balloons or kites with fire to our areas you’re doing is aiding us to bring back the green to this area this is what you do we do all Donations and having visited those communities my myself I’ve seen how beautiful those kutes are um near the Gaza Strip how beautiful the people are the fact they didn’t even lock their homes in their kabut and towns because they feel so secure and one of the leaders shared with us a story saying
That to live here 90% of the time is Paradise but that 10% it’s like hell when the rockets and missiles uh fall on our communities um sadly it’s it’s like the Gates of Hell of literally been released onto these precious Jewish communities in the south of Israel and
It’s important that we show solidarity with them and tell them they’re not alone so has helped them to rebuild their lives after the worst devastating terrorist attack uh in Israel’s history um Jonathan um you know we seen now the narrative shift so quickly I mean Israel won International support I think the
World was shocked by the horrors committed by Hamas but they didn’t exactly want Israel to do anything and as a nation state and as a government your Prime responsibility is the security of your people so Israel’s got no other choice but to go in now to
Destroy Hamas in in Gaza um just share with us how critical the situation is now Israel’s called up something like 360,000 IDF reserves this paus to go into gods and as of this recording now uh Israel is paused to go in but under huge International pressure and the
Narrative has shifted to that of the plight of the uh Palestinian Arabs in Gaza and it’s almost like the horrors of what happened on on Saturday the 7th of October are forgotten why do we have to keep this in our mind and our Forefront of our prayers as well well it’s so
Important I want to recognize U Malcolm’s grandson who’s um in the IDF um and he will be on the front line as we speak uh and I want to recognize people and young people like that who are defending their country which actually you know is a Biblical mandate
You know that God raises up governments and officials and the first call is to the security of that nation and so so it’s in important that you know all politicians um and thank God for um our own politicians at this moment in time who are uh speaking out very very
Clearly Rishi uh the uh starma um and all the other MPS at this moment are standing up really strongly saying that they have the right to defend themselves they’re not putting any um real negatives in there at this moment in time but as Christians uh I think uh we
Need to be getting a hold of our MPS uh we need to be uh not silent uh about this because ultimately there is another voice out there and it’s beginning to stir um oh Israel shouldn’t be doing this etc etc so as Christians we need to
Continue to have a voice we need to be shouting from the the the mountaintops in the sense um about the injustices here and the hostages still uh I was on a rally on Sunday uh there was 15,000 of us um a lot of Jewish people people there but also Christians and uh um
There’s still over 200 hostages out there and we still need to shout it loudly because the press the media uh BBC um they don’t say these things and as Christians we need to continue to stir the pot here um certainly get in touch with your MPS really want to
Encourage you uh to talk to your local MPS get them um and their support remind them of the atrocities on the 7th of October remind them there’s still 200 hostages out there and really that’s for me what Christians should be doing do not be silent absolutely and Malcolm if
We look at the geostrategic situation in the Middle East it’s looking uh kind of O Bleak uh my own kind of analysis is that the Iranians are the instigators behind this because they are uh they are getting very close to developing nuclear weapons themselves and what a greater
Diversion than allow ing Hamas to carry out what can only be described as the worst massacre program war crimes in Israel’s history um and then we see also now that trouble is brewing on Israel’s northern border with with Hezbollah and of course for Israel to confront hezb is
A completely different ball game to dealing with Hamas in Gaza um share with us how this conflict could escalate and how as Christians we really need to be standing there up not only speaking out but also praying and interceding at this time well this hearing lies the duplicity of the west and Western
Politicians and from Westminster U to um Washington DC and throughout the capitals of the world that they ignore the fact that at the root of this conflict is the desire to totally liquidate the state of Israel and I’m talking now about Iran Iran has regularly said throughout the world
Throughout the out the decades time and time again that they seek to acquire nuclear weapons in order to totally liquidate the state of Israel and they have over that period made that promise good by forming a a pin movement around Israel they have as we talk today they
Have control of Hamas they have control of Hezbollah and they’ve moved thousands of Iranian militia now into Syria so what we’re dealing with is is a genocidal government that is seeking to destroy Israel and exterminate the Jewish people has said it publicly and and and yet our our politicians in the
West they fall for the stupidity of saying well what about the poor Palestinians in Gaza and elsewhere ignoring the greater evil that is at the source of this very thing and and and this is why uh the Western governments are rushing into the into the region with aircraft carriers and other
Military hardware in order to somehow uh prevent a regional escalation with Iran but it’s these same governments that through their neglect and and their stupidity really that Netanyahu did warn years ago in the UN have left Iran to actually develop nuclear weapons and we told now they’re on the verge of a
Breakout in this regard and this is why the region has become so terrifying and so dangerous to the global situation this is the truth and Israel is this little democracy in the midst of this island uh of this wickedness like an island that is standing up against this war with
Iran and um Jonathan as I think think uh Malcolm has very explained the geostrategic situation that Israel is facing very very well there uh but we know that this uh the conflict in the Middle East has really been exported to our streets here in London and in Manchester and Cardiff and Birmingham
And Glasgow including Belfast as well um and we’re seeing that hatred rise against Israel but it’s not only against Israel but it’s also against our own Jewish communities that feel very scared and very frightened at this time how important is it as as viewers of watching this program that we reassure
Our Jewish friends in the community that they’re not alone during this time of of rising je if you do know anybody who’s Jewish then um please contact them um what they um said on Sunday is that uh silence is deafening um and uh they know who their
Friends are by uh the support the vocal support uh but they also know the enemies because of their silence and so I just want to encourage everybody who’s watching this program um everybody who’s part of icj um and The Wider uh family the Christian family uh to to talk to
Their Jewish friends contact their Jewish friends um find out ways to do that so that you can just uh share with them their support for the nation Israel absolutely and um Malcolm share with us why Christians can’t afford to sit on the fence um during this conflict and
Make moral equivalent is between Israel and Hamas and saying well this is happening in the Middle East it doesn’t affect me um share with us how it does affect because we have an historical precedent that we should never repeat Christians stood on the fence in the time of the Holocaust they said nothing

These people are coming to the aid of Israel in their giving in their caring in their prayers and uh they are helping in the most amazing ways I think what Israel needs now is for those devastated communities somehow to recover and I know the Israeli people they are they

Emotional need in Israel for the people to be loved and cared for and somehow you have got to find a way to comfort the Jewish Community where you are and you’ve got to find a way to express that Comfort uh by your community Through Your different prayer meetings through
Letters or something you’ve got to find a way to comfort this people and let them know that truly they are not alone that they have millions of people now who are a shield for them and we do know this that Israel will emerge Victorious out of this she will defeat her enemies
