Fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness interesting statement unfruitful works of darkness you know um in Bible school we started a new eight weeks and uh one of the classes that I like to teach is called the doctrines of Christ because Jesus taught six Elementary principles to his
Disciples and the first principle is repentance from dead works and uh what’s interesting about that is when you really look at it before anyone can really get close to God and really approach God they have to do one thing repent but the Bible tells us how to
Repent repent from dead works so a lot of things that people are involved in are what the Bible considers dead works now here in the book of Ephesians calls it unfruitful works like I said before it doesn’t mean that what you’re involved in is not going to bear
Fruit every action that we do in life bear some type of fruit but the reason why it’s calling unfruitful works is because this is the type of fruit that God doesn’t want to show up in our lives meaning it will not produce Godly fruit and so these things
That we’re going to be discussing especially tonight and even previously we should have nothing to do with them as Christians because after all we were in the kingdom of darkness and we were delivered from the authority of that Kingdom and translated into the kingdom of his dear son where
There’s only like to amplify it says so why would any believer want to go back into the dark possibly because of ignorance he doesn’t know he doesn’t know what he’s a part of but how many you know the word of God is what actually sheds light on things and once
The word of God is spoken and revealed then we need to yield ourselves to what’s written because it goes on to say this unfruitful works of darkness but rather reprove that word reprove means expose them so that’s what we’re doing we’re exposing the things that are done
In the dark verse 12 says for it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret notice that word secret it’s interesting the devil when he does things he does it in secret but this is the bottom line you
Might be able to be do those things in secret from me from you but God he sees all and knows all there’s nothing that is hidden from his sight that’s right so there’s no such thing as really doing anything in the dark that’s right before God God cuz he sees everything that you
Do now it goes on to say verse 13 but all things are exposed that are that are exposed are made known by the light for whatsoever does make manifest is light and then in verse 14 wherefore or because of this he says awake you that sleep and arise from the dead and Christ
Shall give you light now look at Exodus chapter 23 I want to go to these opening verses before we really start talking about some things and looking at video Exodus CH 23 verse 31 through 33 it says and I will set your bounds or boundaries from the Red Sea even to the
Sea of the Philistines and from the desert to the river for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand and you shall drive them out before you you shall make no C notice that make no Covenant so we’re talking about fraternal orders and false covenants now one thing that’s clear
