Diligently on this day to be to be able to present to you all all right so what we’re going to do is various institutions uh some of us joined undergraduates did not so we can come sit here and talk about it so we get our questions up uh thank you the person
You want me to you want everybody to yes all right so before we get to our uh to our first question what I want is for everybody to kind of introduce yourselves tell a little bit or your name and where you crossed what year what organization you’re in and um and
Then we’ll we’ll go into the questions my name is Joel Gregory I crossed in 2013 at the LA morne College Sigma gamma rho sorority Incorporated thank you sir um and I you know it’s just been a joy being a part of Sigma gamma rho sorority
Um again I said 2013 right okay fall of 2013. all right so go we’ll start over here and then we’ll come down um greetings to each and every one of you I’m sure y’all know me but uh I have to step into my Alpha mode so here you
Go uh my name is Jonathan Lowe I pledge that the Lane College Fraternity Incorporated spring 2009 uh I’m a proud member where I’ve served Alphas oh since 2009 and we have been established since 1906. hey all right uh good morning uh thank you all for having me my name is Marvin
Thompson uh I crossed that uh Lane College beta pie uh spring in 2006 and a member of alpha found good morning my name is Justin Woodland I am a member of alpha Phile Fraternity Incorporated far across spring 14 at the illustrious Russ College out of Holly Springs Mississippi
I appreciate y’all having me today good morning y’all my number of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Incorporated um I crossed in Spring 2021 and I go to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga uh good morning everybody my name is my name is Jarvis Steven uh I crossed that uh deep rust College
Omega Sci-Fi fraternity Incorporated 03 I am the ace the biggest Ace I’ve ever met uh and uh thank you all for having me out here okay good morning everybody I am Deja Beasley I am a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority incorporating across ball 20 at defense university did pretty alphabetic chapter
Good morning my name is Joshua Gregory I am a member of Phi Beta Sigma I crossed in Spring 2015 at the Tennessee the Tennessee State University Incorporated I Spring 2020 at the University of Tennessee at Martin the Captivate and Kappa Gamma chapter again do want to ignore ignite the latest Phi Beta sorority Incorporated they’re not represented on our family but miss Roslyn is in our audience today so once you recognize the members of Kappa Apple Psi Fraternity Incorporated
Founded in 1911. uh we don’t have any members in the audience today and then Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Incorporated they were founded in 1963. they will be submit this year anyway all right all right we’re going to go ahead and get started so we’re going to ask a series of questions and whoever
Feels comfortable you know we won’t have to go you know whoever just wants to pick up their mic and answer uh we’ll do it like that okay so first is the proper etiquette when attending a probate or neophyte presentation who wants to tackle that one what’s the proper etiquette
Um all right so a neophyte presentation or a bait is after you know the ceremony has taken place and the crossing has occurred there’s a Public Presentation to you know our family our friends um on becoming a member of whatever organization we’re a part of so that’s
What the neophyte presentation is so we want to kind of just tell the people what’s the proper etiquette in our from our view what’s the proper etiquette when attending that type of presentation so um I would just say I ran into a situation where you know we appreciate
The support from our loved ones and our families but uh try to refrain from wearing like any Greek paraphernalia come to the pro base with the Greek letters we kind of worked hard for that um so I’ll just say refrain from that there’ll be one of the biggest key
Points I want to say outrated to okay that’s a good one that’s a good one anybody else what should the audience be doing at our neophyte or probate presentation okay just like speaking from you know probates that I’ve been to if if the if everybody sits down everybody can see
There’s no reason to stand up the front row start standing and then you know the second world start standing you want to be respectful too everybody just I think people just get real excited the people that have you know um supported us for a long time in our
College Journey this is a big thing for them as well as for us so you know but I get what you’re saying because everybody not able to see if y’all yeah I know I would say as far as the proper etiquette um no calling names to keep that silence so it’ll be you
Know new to you know everyone on the yard as far and as family members as well you don’t want to give their secrecy away you know before they get their proper moment you know no calling names and you know that’s a good one as well anybody else
Before we go to the next question all right we can get our next question okay so what are the time requirements for an nphc organization what are the time requirements um obviously while you’re one if you do decide to join you’ll have things that you have to do uh 10 or whatever your
Organization might do but what but once you join you’re uh doing events on campus or in your community um and you’re learning to balance your school work so it’s not just something small you can put on the back burner you have to um you have to actively participate in represent um
Your organizations are like hey YouTube Martin mphc is a big deal um because it’s most definitely by black student population and so in order to recruit and get black students to come we were doing things in like your orientations we were out there showing our faces at those first few weeks
Um when the semester starts we’re out we’re trying to uh hold events so that our faces are seen and that’s a lot of work goes into that we’re working on it over the summer before the year even begins um so it’s a lot of it’s not just
Something you can be like oh I’ll just show up to these and then somebody else can do this you have to constantly put in so you got to work on your time management with that way um I agree got to be open and willing uh belief or anything of course it’s about
Balance uh personal and personal obligations but also things that are bigger than yourself for the organization um like uh Tia said there are different events that are required that you have to be there but also um you join for something bigger than yourself so you have to be willing to
Take the extra step not be selfish and um just be there for the community for the school and for your organization how much time you put in kind of goes into like why you decided to join your organization as well so if you wanted to
Join just to wear the colors and just to be seen then that’s the kind of effort and time you’re going to put into your organization and all the events and things that are going to be planned and like Tia said it is stuff over the summer that you have to
Continue to do and so it’s extra time outside of what you would be doing at school and I can only speak for undergrad but um yeah I just think that goes into your why if you’re wise off then you’re not going to put that time and effort that’s
Required to succeed in your organization that’s awesome anybody else okay oh well by me being the athletic director at my school I am the advisor as well so I make sure that they they go out in into the community and work uh put their face out there the letters out there and
Community service is really big and um in the community of Holly Springs um if you’re a president you’re probably going to have to do a bit more than the rest of your members but just to help keep them afloat also so when you’re taking out different leadership
Positions not just in like a Greek organization but other things on campus you have to put out events like you have to really learn your time management and make sure that you’re not just put in one thing over one thing and I think it speaks a lot to real life
In real world you know we’re in college at the time well some of us you know I did undergrad so I was in college but it did help me to like you said that time management piece because when you get out of school life is going to be thrown
At you even when you’re in school you know you still have stuff that’s going on but it does help to put everything in perspective and I like how you said your why you know that’s a very big thing so if anybody is thinking about going into a Greek organization then you definitely
Want to make sure you examine you know why you’re really trying to do it because it’s not just the letters it’s not just the colors um it’s not just having fun but there is work that that’s involved so all right our next question all right what is something you wish you
Had known before joining your organization uh oh he reaching oh you you give me with something you uh wish you have known before joining pasta um so I always knew that I wanted to be a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority Incorporated um and a few people told me like a few
Of my sorrows told me before I joined that you know the real work starts after you’ve accomplished like or after you join your organization that’s when the real work starts like getting there is hard but after it’s it’s even harder so and I think like Ariana said
Always remembering my why like my wife is what got me through like when days got hard I’m like man I don’t want to go out to this one so so and so or so on but my why is what kept me going right so to kind of piggyback on what you said
Um I knew I wanted to be an alpha since um like high school middle school so joining you know I was ecstatic I was thrilled um something I wish I would have known before was the college days swiftly passed um you’re gonna have those times you know Great Moments with your friends and
Brothers but uh when it’s gone it’s gone so take heed of that while you’re in school and going through that uh The Graduate chapter knowing I’m not going to go to those same events that I did in um college and I had those are some of my greatest memories in college was
Being with some of my throat assistant now I’m gonna go to the real world got a real job and still have to balance things I wish I would have spent more time enjoying the things I did while in college I enjoyed them in the moment but
I would have enjoyed them a little bit more I will say the flip side of that so I went to the lamorno in college and I did not graduate from there though so moving to you know different cities states even I was still able to you know it was a
Sore everywhere you know it was always um somebody that I could connect with and I think that that’s one experience that will always be um I know our College days are College days they’re good but you know when we are able to connect with other people we’re able to
Create those different experiences and those different memories and you know scrapbook them and pin that that time that we with you know this Aurora that one in a new area so yeah that’s also that’s just the flip side anybody else before we go to our next question
All right so what is the difference between an informal rush and an informational versus an interest meeting and does it vary by school informal or an interest meeting versus um I’m sorry informal racial informational verses will some organizations will say they have an informal rush or an informational and that’s kind of just
Where you go uh to learn a little bit about the organization and we’ll have a lot of freshmen come in who actually go to an interest meeting instead of an informational when you go to an interest meeting you’re expressing that you want to join that organization
Um so what I tell well I tell like when I was an orientation leader when I tell students is that you can go to whatever information you want to you can go learn about the different orgs some put them out together and do like one big Greek live station but you cannot go
To everybody’s interest meeting and I say that because people in organizations talk um so if I so I’m an issue around but if I went to let’s say I went to a Delta interest meeting or a rush or whatever they want to call me but then I went to
HG Road and became and she wrote I probably wouldn’t become an issue wrote because of that top ology I was like oh this is your second choice first is not your first so informational cool go to interest meaning you want to join that order and that’s just for UC Martin
That’s how we do it there um it might vary across um chapters and schools but I can honestly for my undergraduate at utmi um well Tennessee State University it was kind of similar to that we would have like informal like informationals where uh most time be out in the um like
A public forum lobby area uh just learn more about the organizations usually out of Greek organizations are lined up and you can get stopped by each table or each Booth learn more about it but when they actually hold interest meeting that’s you express the interest that I
Want to be in this organization and I do agree um that if you’re going to every interest meeting it kind of makes you seem like not sincere about what you want to do or kind of wishy-washy and uh it can uh go over kind of bad like kind of be real bad image
And if you don’t know you’re like I don’t know what I want to do just don’t go like each organization has their own website where you can go and deal then when you find out okay I think well I know this one is for me that’s when
You go just because I have one doesn’t mean you have to go that year you know yeah all right this is a thing what is discretion and I’ll even go on to add like how does that how does it carry over into your life because it everything that we learn
Really anywhere it impacts Us in different areas of our life not just in the thing that we’re doing currently so what is discretion yeah uh I’ll just take a discretion really just knowing when and where you know what to do when what to do where uh my employees surroundings and your actions
And uh your words everything matters and everything has a time and a place so oh well to be discreet is is what we’re doing now uh a lot of times you don’t want to get off give off everything because we don’t want to you know push you away
Push you away uh but to be discreet is is a good thing because we don’t want to give you everything coming through the door you know you have to work for it you have to learn some things uh I just had a daughter that just crossed Delta
Sigma Theta and um and we didn’t tell her nothing her mom is a Delta she didn’t tell her nothing it was like when you go through the door you appreciate it more you know if I tell you everything coming through the door then you don’t have
Nothing to look forward to so that’s why you be discreet and that’s why we’re quiet now I’m speaking for the Alpha Street AKA okay he’s having a good place to fight this too if you want to watch how you carry yourself in your discretionary period S like going out to parties every weekend but you’re not going to community service on Sunday or Saturday morning if she’s doing this organization she’s just gonna sit here and show it to a party but she’s not gonna build us on the highway we gonna trash or she’s not
Going to be with us when we go read to the children at 7 30 in the morning you know so um when you go to college or post Tyler whatever you want to do the way you carry yourself and this is just in life care yourself in class and dignity and
Respect because you don’t want to just know anybody doing anything anywhere um in any aspect of your life so when you join an organization we all represent our Organization no matter if we have our letters on or not so how you carry yourself is a big part going yourself
Big part of joining your organization because you don’t want to reflect negatively upon your profession are you yeah I was I was just gonna say that or yourself because I mean we are our own brand you know our own we are us you know so we don’t want
Anybody’s in in and then you said earlier when somebody said earlier like people talk so think about what you do you know look at how you you are acting or you’re responding even in your workplace I mean you know I don’t want to stay too long
On this but even in your workplace you know you are a representation of not just a job but when you leave that job somebody from that that manager knows the manager that’s over there at the other job you know that you’ve applied to and so you know you just have to
Carry yourself well I like how you said that so what are some reasons you should join or shouldn’t join an organization what are some reasons you should join let’s start there You have to find your own personal watch um there’s other members in my organization they didn’t join for the same reason I do and I didn’t join for the same reason they did but that Journey should be very personal to you oh shouldn’t join um you like color uh you like the colors
You like elephants and poodles um yeah I like that little dance y’all be doing I will say you’re why you’re why I may not come you might have a while when you doing but your wife may change while you’re in it my wife changed while I was in it
Um but that goes into another question I know we have like this I’ll come back to it but um so it’s okay if you don’t have your wife fully out yet but once you get in you may uh start developing that and it goes back to what
They just said do your own research on the national website anyone else why you should or should not join I think you also need to that goes into when you’re picking what organization you want to be a part of as well making sure that whatever your personal values
Are align with whatever organization and their purpose is Um and then also why you shouldn’t is if you didn’t get picked by another organization just trying to join another one um but yeah just making sure your purpose aligns their purpose aligns with what you believe as a person individually and like you said it could
Change later on but um just making sure it’s personal that’s why you should then when you do get in that organization you gonna be that person that’s just showing up for the right fun stuff yeah the cookouts all right next question what are some things you should be what
Are some things you should be doing before joining an organization I’ll talk a little bit about some of the things that you should be doing before joining joining uh as may have been already stated is uh definitely during your uh research when I first attended Lane College
I had a particular organization in mind in terms of uh I won’t really say but you know because yeah because um you know they had done so much in the city of Memphis during the time that I was in high school I had already the term I was going to join that organization
And I like what they were about the uh this was the uh graduate chapter so these were not younger brothers these were older brothers out in the community um however when I got to college and then you know you’re able to observe you’re able to attend different events
Um you know see how you know these different members uh carry themselves or you know how they participate in class and all that other good stuff and just in terms of you know where I come from and and you know where I you know I was headed um you know I’ve changed the
Organization that I you know wanted to join uh because that particular this particular organization aligned more so was just you know my career goals with educational goals with networking you know in terms of my uh career and uh you know doing community service and different things like that so uh you
Certainly need to do your research uh there are requirements uh so you have to have a you know minimum GPA uh sometimes the chapter may have um you know require a slightly higher GPA or something to that effect because you do have to uh get someone to sponsor
You from the organization in other words for vouch for you to say hey I recommend you know that we you know allow this person to draw an organization um it also costs and costs a lot of money um I think when I crossed in 2006 it was probably about eight hundred dollars
Um you know for membership I think now it’s probably about between twenty five hundred three thousand uh dollars but you know they give you more stuff with it now you know like you know like history books and all that good stuff so um you know I was just you know suggest
That you uh do your research and look at which organization aligns more with where you’re trying to uh go in life two um I think a big part of what you should be doing before you join if you know you’re interested in something I’m a big believer in making yourself known but
Not doing too much obviously using discretion so say you know you want to join Apple Kappa Alpha sorority Incorporated we are big on making sure that you individually are good on your grades your academics your personal values before you come into our organization so making sure
That you’re making that known as okay I see you like for me personally okay I see you in your community you’re already doing community service on your own your art your grades your GPA is already above the minimum average that we want to accept I’m showing up to
Interest meetings I’m showing up to events that they’re holding I’m talking to people making myself known not just for eight for the organization but for myself in general because you want to put yourself out there in your community anyway so just making sure you’re putting yourself out there showing that
Your face you know showing you who you are individually before the organization so it’s not that this organization made me who I am that’s good yeah that’s a good one um what would you say too I’m not sure if anyone in here is in college right
Now or on the way but what would you say to somebody that’s like and I’m not asking you specific but just off of what you said if I’m a shy person and maybe I don’t want to put myself out there but it’s in me you know but I just need you
Know a little pulling out like what would you say to a shy person that still needs to make a name for themselves prior to but you know wants to join an organization Josh and chanterelle Simone all of them were already you know Greeks I just talked to them about like what was their experience like or like you know um I wasn’t shy on campus or anything but as far as like making myself known that I was interested um was a little different
Um because like I said I had no like Deltas in my immediate family shout out to Nat um over there but um I think like just go into events and they don’t have to be specifically that organization organization’s event but just stand on the yard you know what I’m
Saying or just like Ariana said put yourself out of prayer yeah and like make that one of your goals to like today I’m gonna put myself out there even if I don’t have anybody to go with I’m gonna put myself out there and then that’ll allow you once you get into
Organization to continuously break barriers within the organization um and just like as you climb through undergrad grad chapter great answer let me speak to that real quick um I guess for myself personally I wouldn’t say that I’m a shy person I’m more so reserved but I’m also intentional
About the things I do so um if this is something that you really want to do you’re going to take those steps you know you uh go to this event or talk to this person I mean maybe not be a full conversation but just kind of get
To know them let them get to know you and it’s really grow who you are you know because they want like you want to be a leader uh you don’t want to be just accepting anyone that’s a follower just going with the crowd you have to be your own person you have to
Have your own beliefs and what you stand for and becoming like uh for lack of the worst asset you know so it’s okay to be shy but also know why you’re doing it and let that drive you it’s good yes I just think another part
About if you are shy or just if you’re thinking about joining or something you should do before is making sure that if you are interested and you have a friend that’s interested too not trying to be with them the entire time just making it individual because that friend may not
Make it the same time as you will and then that could cost you know a divide in your friendship or whatever the case may be so just making sure it’s you individually doing what you want to do and making your goals and then supporting them on the end but also
Making sure it’s just you know you yeah okay next question all right what are some things you have done for your organization and what has your organization done for you um I’ll say that as far as joining my organization I will say that personally I feel like I have a leadership
Mentality but I don’t I was scared of that for a long time so before joining my organization you know it’s obviously things because your organization is a business you have to learn how to run the business and so that’s like what Deja was saying before yes it’s hard but
Then when you get into it that’s when the work begins because you’re running million dollar companies as an undergrad or a graduate chapter so I feel like joining my organization taught me how to work with people how to organize people with different opinions and how to get to the end goal and how
To create events and how to plan stuff like I never saw myself as a choreographer and I put together a 10-minute routine for a step show that I never thought I could do so I guess just being in the organization kind of pushes you to think do things that you may not
Have done before or may not have seen to do on your own okay for me he doing our organization kind of forced me to do everything up on campus I’m not gonna say tourists but it led to me doing everything else on campus um because of the people who they’re
Like oh they’re like we need someone who’ll be a great orientation who do you think oh well I know this issue right her name is Tia she’s really sweet she’s really personable and they faded because I will go talk to anybody about anything and I don’t care if they talk back to me
Or not um so that’s kind of so that’s me into different uh meetings with the chancellors and the Board of Trustees um it for me he did a lot of networking for me as like I said the chancellor Board of Trustees a lot of different people in a lot of different places
Um in it’s it’s just it really put me into places where I didn’t think I was going to be able to go while only in undergraduate of I was presented with a lot of opportunities to go places and meet people and I couldn’t have done that without the push of my
Organization and those people talking about me in other rooms yeah um so as far as what my organization has done for me as many of you know I live overseas um and it was a little scary moving over there by myself but when I got to campus
There’s six other deltas and so I’m like I had an instant community of people that kind of just took me in and we became one family and not only my sorority sisters but the entire mphc over there um we’ve all been really close like we do atoms together and so
That has kind of been like a home away from home for me so yeah just to add um in terms of things that uh the organization has done for me I think it just uh overall helped build my uh leadership qualities uh you know as she mentioned
Um the organizations uh are you know it’s a business so you know you can come in as a meal fight they’re new to the organization uh not knowing a whole lot about you know Robin’s rules of water uh not knowing much about running a chapter paying dues budgeting for that chapter
Um you know planning uh different trips and coming up with the funds um you know to give back to the community and be visible in the community so um you know just being a part just really helped build my confidence uh because I’ve been in the room with you
Know many different Alphas including Dr Western Cornelius McClure who was the president of the college at the time um you know when I go to interviews or you know I’m asked to be a part of this or that I’m not really intimidated just because of the people that have already
Sat around and had conversations with and uh been mentored by uh so I would just say that you know the organizations just helped build me as a person outside of uh you know where I come from because you know many people and uh family our community did not go to college okay
All right next question what are some national programs what does your organization focus on so what are some of you all’s National programs that are organization specific and what what um do you all focus on our programs into one because we’re really being on March of Dimes we’re caring for teen pregnancies and
Um yeah one of those things huh it’s William and water safety I didn’t teach them actually because I can’t swim but I did teach CPR um we have essay writing contest um that we if you write an essay you can win a scholarship but um women’s health is like just a really big
Win because some of the things can be wrapped up into that and then we focus on the education of the youth um we do uh programs called operation big book bag as we take it’s a really good school trip I drive or however you want to do because I found this where
Educators I wanted to education so that was really near and into my heart but I’ll leave that there do your research issue about 1922.org I love it sorry oh one program we have is go to high school go to college and this is focused more towards younger people uh we want
To just like we would go back to elementary schools high schools and speak with uh the young younger generation and tell them just how important it is to get an education you know like uh I would say you know testing he’s a prodigal fail while high school so I
Would you know I’m a little older than he is I went back to field where and I made sure I mentored the younger guys like them so go to high school and go to college is a very important program Fraternity Incorporated we have a bigger better bigger better business uh just
Teaching financial literacy uh sometimes especially in the black community we just save money spend money buy the new shoes you know we don’t really know what it means to invest what it means to um trust funds mutual funds different things so just educated our community we also have a single beta clubs
Mentoring youth uh just being their positive role model and we also have like Sigma Wellness we’re just focusing on Men’s Health in the different uh factors that we deal with as men that aren’t always talking about are addressed as far as Delta Sigma Theta sorority Incorporated we’re very well-rounded
Organization we focus on educational development Economic Development internet involvement political awareness and involvement and physical and mental health so those are our Five Points um if you want more information the national website is the first place to go um um my organization focuses on service to
All mankind and y’all hear that all the time we say it all the time but all of our national program initiatives align with that we currently have some new program initiatives building our economic wealth enhancing our environment strengthening our Sisterhood there are definitely a few more that you
Can look on the website on um but I just like how all of those are programs that are going to service to all mankind no matter who you are what age what area what group just service to all mankind and so one of my favorite ones that we have been doing I don’t
Know if y’all have seen that we actually have a national bank so by was it wear pink by Green so um that’s part of our building our economic wealth where you basically teaching people about financial Wellness teaching people in our community just about financial literacy supporting black businesses so
All of those programs initiatives are going towards service to all mankind that’s our Focus all right now fraternity we kind of do this same thing um I think everybody based everything on the same thing as a community service and scholarship and that’s what we try to bring out and
Stay in the community go back to the high schools middle schools and things like that and uh try to give out as many scholarships as we can by raising money Question please what are some of your favorite experiences okay what are some of your favorite experiences what are some of your favorite experiences so it can be event oh there you go um I would just say uh traveling um going to different schools seeing the Greek life going down the lane College
Getting the bloody beta pie you know going to UT Martin getting work with um don’t tell me okay yeah yeah uh you know just the Brotherhood the fellowship seeing the different Greek life how they take you in and welcome you with open arms so I would say that traveler
Back that up traveling is so much fun I think my favorite thing is like the Greek picnics I don’t say um face because I just recently went to my first conference in uh April and I did not have to spend any of my own money I
Spent maybe 50 on my own some food and a couple other things but that was my oldest store always been taking care of me man I looked at some she was like you want that’s it but um really traveling because I got to go to Myrtle Beach that was really fun
Movie there for like six days I would say conferences are fun too I know y’all saw Memphis had them pink police cars out here yeah I think you did see them y’all some but yeah the conferences are fun yeah I think I think that uh my my favorite
Moment I got a bunch of them but I think the the 100 our 100 year um at the conclave we went to DC we uh we ended up on YouTube because we set out a hop in front of the uh the actual building that the founders uh kind of
Had their meetings in we had our actual chapter meeting in that same room so that was that was one of my best times uh since I’ve been in the fraternity all right next question what is the difference in joining undergraduate versus graduates we’ll keep that one short and sweet
Right we’re just going to be honest it’s just the process one is a little easier don’t say a little easy you know we just don’t please keep it simple yeah all right next question next great all right way to be discreet do you do you recommend joining an nphc organization
I agree I just wouldn’t recommend it to everyone if you’re not serious about it then I wouldn’t recommend it if you are then go for it I think so I mean I’m saying if you if you don’t if you don’t I don’t need a microphone if you if you don’t take it
Serious you’re not gonna make it anyway you know it’s a process is the third two weeks so some processes are longer some are shorter so if you in it you do it good luck um like we’ve mentioned it’s a business if you’re gonna be serious come in do business
Get it done you know and you’ll be successful in the organization but if you’re here to play around where the the true reason your why will with how you work in the organization so I can tell the people that join you know because they like colors and no elephants
But um all of that will be revealed so like I don’t recommend it to everybody um same way College isn’t for everybody nphc isn’t for everybody you just have to be get personal be real with yourself like is this for me is this something that I’m going to be dedicated to
Um that I’m willing to put time plus what the tears into uh yeah can’t work well with people who don’t think like you or may say things differently than you then it’s not going to work out for you you have you have likely say this is a business
It is a business and you’re you’re going to have to work with people you might not always be on the front page but again this is like this and wherever you decide to go um but you can’t let that I felt affect how you run your organization so you got to be very
Open-minded like just going with open minds but stay true to your values for everybody else’s value somewhat align because it makes sense all right was it is there another question for us that’s it all right well um thank you all for uh I want to thank the panel so yeah everybody give the
Panel a hand and then again um thank you all for listening and um and listening to our our story I do got one thing to say about it go ahead by Alpha file Fraternity Incorporated we are none Hazen organization I just wanted I just wanted to throw that out there so you know
I gotta end a panel like that we are non-hazing organization so take that and run with it and I wish you all the best so as far as um just joining the organization obviously God is a jealous God so do not make this organization an idol don’t
Ever put anything over God and over what he has for you so much We do not serve a Greek god that’s not what this is right Greek organization we yeah and one person no yeah okay so yes that is that’s a great point to end and I was going to say again it is very important to have these type of conversations in the church
Because people don’t know I mean you know I well I kind of knew about Greek life before going to school but you know not really um but I think that this is a great place to start with any any conversation the church is a great place or the home
The home first but then the church you know to support and to push is a is another great place for these type of conversations so if you all are either headed to college or in college currently you have some great people um up here that you can ask questions to
And that you can trust with their answer you know you can trust these people um they seem pretty pretty trustworthy but um yeah so that’s all we have to you okay thank you thank you for letting us do what we do during you tonight yep outside after service
Um I was supposed to announce it and I just thought about it there’s a food truck outside wonderful delicious food all right all right thank God thank you I think he wants to take a picture [Applause] stand up yeah come on give these kids [Applause] while you’re standing we extend
Salvation to you the doors of the church are open there may be someone here today that is in need of a relationship with Jesus Christ and we offer this relationship to you there is none other like the god that we serve we serve a very caring and considerate God
And the thing that you should love about God he’ll meet you wherever you are does not matter how low how high you are it does not matter what is going on in your life God loves you just as you are amen amen and we thank God for what God is
Doing in all of your lives if there be one you may not want to join today you may need rededication to Christ or you may simply need prayer we offer that to you as well amen and as the old church always said never put off for tomorrow what you can do today amen
Amen we see that none but there is room everybody you can be seated I need you all to do something for me I need y’all to do something for me um you getting ready to go back to school though right yes going back to school you’re going back you already
Graduated okay when is our picnic September the 18th it’s the 16th okay I need a step show For the picnic can y’all arrange that for me yeah no I wanna I want the cues to come I want the alphas to come I want the capitals to come I want to sickness to calm and what’s yours Sigma gamma Rose deltas I want y’all to come we have other
People that are Greeks here in the church that can help out with that as well and uh let me see uh you be going back so until Jonathan Jewel you all are in charge of that all right and you all will report to the Toro and get it set up through the Torah
Because she’s dealing with the with the picnic and all of that stuff and uh we want y’all to come out and represent and have a good time amen all right outside we have a black business we have a food truck that’s outside if you don’t want food still give the man some money
Support him okay he has all of the stuff that we like that we don’t need he has he has nachos he has I think turkey legs chicken hot wings fries fry okra all of the stuff that makes us gain weight after 10 pm he has it Mothers y’all want some off the food truck y’all stuff paid for y’all want something off the food truck y’all or y’all don’t eat that junk y’all want something off the food truck okay all right y’all go out there and get what y’all want okay all right wrap it up take it home which
Enjoy thank y’all I want to encourage all of you all and we totally encourage you for the higher education that you all have went to get and we embrace you all whoever whoever may be thinking about going on to Graduate Studies getting Masters and phds and all of that stuff uh
Uh we speak the blessings of God over your life for whatever you’re Desiring to do as young people my other young people here these are some of the type of role models that you need to look at that have paved the way for you and in front of you amen So if you’re Desiring to go in this direction you have people right here in the church that have already done this ah I think Simone is a Greek Rosalind is a Greek uh Britney is a Greek who else is who else who else is a Greek somebody
Else here I think is a great you have people right here at your disposal that you can reach out and touch that will give you all of the information and they will be some of the best mentors that you could ever want to have in your life amen all right let’s
Get ready for our tithes and offering y’all we’re gonna get ready to get out of here but once again thank all of you all I’ve really enjoyed the combo the conversation amen let’s prepare for our ties Thank you [Applause] foreign [Applause]
