Like is it over eat it like our people really trying to join these organizations for nothing like is it operating like our people hyping us up as Greeks and I’m saying so that’s what this video is gonna be about my opinion on that let’s get into it Alright guys so when it comes to greet life being overrated I would say yes and no you know some people put Greek life up here Greeks NPHC organizations up here and there’s some people like y’all regular people so real depends on the mindset of whoever is saying it like I
Get a lot of comments of people saying oh why would you need to join a fraternity it ain’t nothing why would you want to join a sorority it ain’t nothing that’s overrated y’all do this y’all don’t help the community and the only thing I do is laugh because Greek life is what people
Perceive it to be like a lot of people don’t look into Greek life deeply it’s either something they heard or they know they mama and daddy don’t like Greek so they know they pastor don’t like Greeks or a mom and daddy is in a Greek so now
They like Greeks so it’s all about what kind of history they’ve had wit Greeks and that kind of builds their perception and kind of build their judgment if people don’t really know about Greek life and they start doing research they will understand that we we got a lot
Going for ourselves being a Greek organization we have a lot to offer and you know it’s positives isn’t and it’s negative I do I feel like people have to join a fraternity or sorority no you don’t have to join a fraternity sorority to do community service you don’t have
To join a fraternity or sorority to have networking opportunities you don’t have to join fraternity or sorority till gradually you don’t have to join a fraternity afford to have friends in them things that people think that’s what Greek life is for you don’t have to join because of that you’re not saying
So when people feel like you have to join because of that that’s when I feel like it’s overrated because my heart stuff what happened you know I’m saying how when people always praise us for you know Stefan is strolling and parties and stuff like that yeah that’s that’s definitely overrated you know
Because that’s not all what goes on in our organization but for me it’s like Greek life you have to want you know I’m saying like you have to want to it’s nothing you have to do so you have to want it like you want to better your social life
Yes Greek life can be for you if you want to enhance your networking opportunities yes Greek life is for you if you want to be a part of something bigger than yourself Greek life is for you not something you have to have because I read some comments somewhere and he was
Like what is the point of fraternities sororities technically we are here to help the community we are here to enhance people’s lives we are here to give people an experience we are here to do a lot of things but we don’t have to do it people want people will have to
Want that you know I’m saying so it’s very subjective everybody don’t have to want to be an MPAC organization everybody don’t have to feel like they have to be in an MPA C or a fraternity or sorority anywhere you know I’m saying that’s just that’s the way it is people
Over eight these are NPHC organizations agree life in general people do it all the time like for me I won’t even over eat my own organization like as you see if you go my Instagram I don’t hardly wear my new you like that unless I’m
Going to an event I’m not the type that a we’re near you just the we’re here and if I’m going to agree to vent out where sometimes I might wear mine area out randomly but I’m not one of those super Greeks that’s wearing mine oh you’re showing everybody
That hey I’m a Sigma I’m missing that I’m missing that you need to respect me that’s not what I’m about but some Greeks will do that they’ll wear it on dates there we’re out and about their way to the club they waited everywhere but that’s not who I am do you know I’m
Saying like I was a person before a Greek life but it all depends on the mentality of people who join and what people are seeing you know I’m saying the people that say Greek life is overrated is because you’re seeing something that may not be what the overall Greek community is like your
Opinion on Greek life is different compared to the area that you’re in you can’t say that just the let’s say the Sigma’s on your campus is wet that all signal is this way just because the deltas on your campus is poppin and me all Delta’s everywhere is
Pumpin it’s not like that you know I’m saying so I say people over eight Greeks depending on the atmosphere and the Greek culture that they’re around it just depends it’s very subjective but I say this right here man Greek life can be for everyone it’s all about how you
Figure out how to tailor it towards your life or tailor it to something that you’re looking for or seeing what you can get out of it as well you can’t just join a Greek organization just a step and stroll and because that’s what everybody think it is
Everybody think Greek life is step in the stroller and all that right that’s all people see but if you’re interested in the business aspect networking you know going to social events going to galas going to balls like going to regional conferences state conferences national conferences getting professional development resume
Workshops interview tips you know all that’s the Greek life can be for you and it wouldn’t be overrated because that’s in addition to the stepping and strolling but everybody say Greek life is overrated because they think that people are trying to buy friends people are trying to just be seen and get more
Followers on Instagram and snapchat and all that and people say oh it’s overrated because I can do that without Greek life and you can and you can do all the other stuff that I mentioned without green life it’s not it’s not that you have to join these organizations to do that stuff people
Join these organizations because they either want to enhance it or they want to put get their foot in the door in a certain area for example i’ma leave you on this let’s say that you’re in an organization and let’s say you know the organization have a bunch of nurses the
Organization is known for having a bunch of nurses and doctors there’s a lot of people in the medical field and that’s the field that you want to go into would you not join that organization so you could be around that Network and get your foot in the door internships get
One-on-one speaking sessions without having to pay you just take a doctor out to lunch because they’re in the same organization and they’re in a grand chapter of the city that you’re in and you could just go to their meet you talk to them and talk to them about different
Patients walk in on a surgery okay like it’s an opportune that you might have wouldn’t have if he wasn’t in that organization so I will say Greek life is overrated and it’s underrated at the same time for those reasons that’s it for this video and y’all I appreciate
