Touchy one it’s a very how could I say a harder topic than what I usually do a lot of people might think things a certain way and another group of people might think things another way so today I’m gonna be talking about is there diversity within MPAC organizations I’m

Video let’s get into the video Okay I had to sit down on this topic cuz I didn’t feel like standing up because I think this might be a long video I don’t know yet anyway when it comes to MPAC organizations is it that verse do we have these different races whites Hispanics like do we accept
That do we really want that in our organization those are going to be the questions I’m answering today but my honest opinion is yes we do consider ourselves that verse no and I think MPAC organizations most organizations try to be diverse that’s what a lot of organizations strive to be like at the
End of the day we want well-qualified members and if you’re outside of being black is perfectly fine seek interest and like a lot of people say well I’m white should i express interest or I’m Hispanic or like it doesn’t matter seek interest in whatever you feel like you should be a part of
But the one thing I will say is if you’re not african-american black like if you’re not black understand what you’re getting yourself into and I don’t mean that in a bad way because majority is gonna be black people in MPAC organizations that’s just the majority that’s just how it is
Because our organizations was founded back when slavery was around back when it wasn’t accepted for us to be around white people white people didn’t want us to be around them and these MPAC organizations was created for us black people to come together and give back to our community and give back to other
Black folks and really help out the show that hey we’re not here to harm we’re here to help you know I’m saying if you can understand that and if you’ve done your research and if you understand why we was founded and what you’re getting yourself into
I don’t see it as a problem but the problem comes in when all you see is a stepping and it’s rolling and the social aspect and that’s why you want to join that’s when the problem becomes but if you want to use some of your skills to
Help out the organization and you want to use some of your expertise and some of the things that you have going to make the organization better and to grow then hey by all means join but don’t just join because you see a part of an organization that you can’t get
Elsewhere you know I’m saying don’t just join because you want to step and stroll really understand what these organizations are about now another thing is when you actually join you have to be okay with the people that you’ll be around for the rest of your life and
Majority of your time when you go to conferences you might be the only non black person there you know or you might be one of few depending on what organization you join so you have to be ok with that and you have to feel like
You’re not out of place and you go to events when you go to events with the organization when you go to other organizations events that’s in the MPSC it’s gonna be majority black people so you have to understand that if you join that’s majority of what you’re gonna be
Around and if that’s something you can’t kind of come to terms with there’s no need to join at the end of the day it’s all up to you and what you can handle and what you’re looking for in an organization you know a lot of people say hey you could join MPC imce
Organization you know but if that’s not the experience you’re looking for if you’re trying to be more that first if you’re trying to get experience that you never had before then MPAC organization is definitely something to look into ok so the question of today is actually pertaining to this topic

Whites I’ve seen Asians I’ve seen all types of people in my organization so we are very diverse we have different chapters in different countries you know I’m saying like we have different ways of bringing a diverse experience to our organization I can’t speak on all MPAC
Organizations but I do know if I pay the Sigma works hard into making our organization diverse and you know giving anybody a chance to be a part of something that’s great I can’t say that about all organizations so the best thing to do if you’re in this situation
Is to do research on the organization and the challenge see if the chapter have history of you know accepting your race see if they have history of books of accepting people that’s not black because you don’t want to put yourself in an awkward situation where you go to
The interest meeting and they’re like oh yeah we’re gonna do that because that could be the case you never know it might be something they’re not used to seeing so you really have to key in on that aspect like really do your research with the chapter and the organization is
Very very very very key you know I’m saying because if it’s if you don’t do research you don’t know what you get yourself into you’re just looking for it from the outside in like hey that’s cool I wouldn’t mind doing it but a lot of times with these like social media pages
Like watch 2-yard what a Greeks turn an against PWI Greeks HBCU Greeks all those like whenever someone that’s not black cross they get so much attention because it’s so much respect going for you because you did something out of your norm you know I’m saying especially like
If you’re white and you join a MPSC sorority or fraternity that’s something outside of your norm I don’t know if y’all follow a lot of Greeks of everything but is this one white cap name is Sam whiteout this man is I would say famous you know I would say like and
He’s doing the same thing he represents his organization no matter where he go he put on for his organization he’s represented in the best conduct and that’s what you should be aiming for you know I’m saying it if you’re white if you’re Asian if you mess like whatever
You are understand you’re at the representing organization and your best condom you know I’m saying even if you’re black you have to but especially for you who’s not black you have to I don’t want to say go harder but you have to prove yourself sometime
And I hate to say it because I don’t want it to seem like it’s not equal but sometimes you have to prove yourself like hey I really wanted this and I’m gonna keep going like I ain’t just going join and say hey I got these letters I’m
A joint I’ll put in work and I’m gonna do what it do you know I’m saying like boom you got to do what you got to do but sometimes people join and they join and get the letters that don’t do nothing they just did it and I think
Until the mom dad the friends that they did something that they didn’t do you know I’m saying so you really have to come in with a certain mindset you really have to dig deep in really understanding this is something you want do that research man talk to me see if
They’re comfortable with it like be vulnerable but also watch out for yourself and don’t put yourself in an awkward situation don’t put them in the awkward situation but all in all I would say in PHC organizations aren’t outburst some organizations aren’t as diverse as some but there is representation of most
Races in these MPAC organizations so I don’t want you to think just because you’re not black you don’t have a chance at all that’s never the case you do have Virginia’s you do have a chance to go off and do great things in these organizations become leaders become presidents become vice presidents don’t
Never second-guess because their skin color man don’t do that if you have what it takes it’s gonna show no matter what your skin color is if you have what it takes is gonna show no matter how look on the outside what’s on the inside we’ll show based on your character your
Demeanor your interest your research like all that will show so don’t worry about what your skin color is that’s I wouldn’t say that’s the last thing you need to worry about but it shouldn’t be a factor in your decision making process so that’s it for this video I’m glad you
