Be a part of your dream organization so what now what do you do well I’m tell you this right here it’s a lot of work to be in a Greek organization fraternity or sorority might feel pressured as a neo or fresh member into the organization but the first thing you
Want to do is just absorb knowledge be a sponge-like don’t just join the organization say oh I learned everything now no you’re just now getting into the orders that you learned some of the basics but now that you’re in the organization you got to learn even more
You got to learn about chapter you got to learn more about the organization always look to see if you can learn more don’t just sit there and think that you know everything but learn from your pro fights go back on a website now you should have the light the constitution
To the whole organization since you’re now a member so read through that and I mean I’m pretty sure during the process they don’t go over all of that stuff to you they prime just skim it but make sure you go back and get all your knowledge that you need a lot of things
You should learn it’s a lot of things that you need to know as a member and the intake process isn’t long enough to learn every single thing they just teach you what you need to know at that time to become a member so it’s up to you to
Go out there and get that extra knowledge and to do some more research once you become a member and that will help you out in the long run especially if you’re trying to become a member of the Zek board something like that you need to learn more about the
Organization during the intake process you learn about your chapter but you don’t learn the most you can so take that time once you become a member to learn about the chapter get with the Zek board and learn the ins and outs of the chapter so you can understand what’s
Going on at meetings they might use Robert rules of order hey you got to learn that so try to figure out some things that you can learn to help make your transition easier from being you know a non-greek member to and the next one is you want to be eager
To take on new roles a lot of times when you cross it might be members that’s graduating that was the President or the secretary they might need some help don’t be hesitant to run for those you know roles just because you’re new if you think you have something to offer to
The organization to chapter run for it don’t be shy don’t feel like you’re too young in the organization to run for secretary or social media chair president if you think you got what it takes then go ahead and long force a great experience to run for a you know
Position in an organization if it’s not a sec position you know be a part of committee you know some basic boards like say social media chair they might be over all the social media avenues but they also might have individual people in that area say doing Instagram Twitter
Facebook and ages overseas the earlier you get involved in the organization the better experience you will have and the more you can build your resume the more opportunities you’ll have as a member next one is find a mentor in your organization and the reason I say this is because these organizations and our
Organizations have so many great people in these organizations doctors lawyers hotel managers senators governor’s like we have so many great people in our organizations and you could take advantage of those opportunities if you reach out and find a mentor or it could be a mentor that’s currently in your
Chapter it doesn’t have to be someone that’s just in the organization not in your chapter but hey maybe the DP of your process might have been somebody that you look up to make sure you stay connected with them make sure that you are their mentee make sure that they are
Your mentor if you look up to them so find a mentor because that will really help enhance your experience in these organizations cuz that’s what it sports for you to find people that you look up to is for you to build long-lasting relationships is for you to find people
In your area network so make sure you find a mentor that you can go to about your life about your job about the organization find a mentor in your chapter or organization as a whole cuz it really really be beneficial to you in the long run now this one is important
Make sure you start networking I don’t mean just networking just because it’s like say your job you want to be a lawyer then you trying to find all kind of people in your organization as a lawyer no network as far as different chapters in the organization network as
Far as your job network as far as different organizations on your campus because that’s gonna bring in more opportunities for you and your chapter if you network with other chapters those chapters will come to your functions it might be a chapter that’s an hour away you know at another school if you have
Something you want support from not only the student body but you also want support from other chapters in your area so if you network with them they’ll be more inclined to come to some of your events they’ll be more inclined to come support you if you go support them so
Network with other chapters don’t just network with people in the organizations just to try to get a job after you graduate you’re not saying even though that’s good but network with other chapters is when you network with you know people in your organization for jobs don’t just make it seem like you’re
Using them to get a job in the upper edge and get to know them as a person get to know what they’re doing how long they was in their role how long did was in the organization and then go from there but build that friend relationship
Before you just jump in and say hey I’m trying to do this with my life can you help you know I’m saying so it still takes relationship building there early you start networking them better it’ll be for him this one is very important to I said just sort of been the number one
Stay true to yourself man I cannot stress how important this is stay true to yourself like so many people change like these organizations change people you know they join and then they act like they don’t know some of these friends they allied they don’t know some of their friends that join other
Organizations like stay true to yourself if you are humble person before you join be a humble person after you join don’t automatically be that wild person doing all this if you are humble stay humble it’s so bad when people change up on you and then you like saying this person
Should be like this and not it going bad now there’s nothing wrong with changes it’s positive if it’s a positive look on you than a do it but stay true yourself to the core like you know where you are deep down inside I know so many people that cross that
Became a part of another organization and it’s one organization in particular that I can think of but I’m not gonna say but every time they joined this fraternity they change like they just become different people like every single time as soon as they cross this organization I’m not gonna name it but
They just change up and I’d be like hmm okay you wouldn’t like that a few weeks ago okay and it’s for the worse not the best stay true to yourself don’t let nobody change you and who you are if my last one but you are the last one is
Be proud be proud for whatever organization you join and choose to join whether it’s the most popular whether it’s the least popular be proud because you went through the process you got through it you got selected you got through the interview you did what you
Had to do to become a member and you work hard for that spot you work hard to do what you have to do so make sure you are proud and you wear your letters with dignity man like don’t let nobody say oh that’s lame or why you did that oh you
Should forget them because you did what you had to do and you did what you felt in your gut was best for you a lot of people might say hey I thought you was gonna do this I thought she was gonna do it guess what you thought wrong my brother you thought wrong
So take pride in what you’re doing take pride in what you’re wearing your letters like I’m always gonna be proud to wear this blue and white no matter what anybody tell me I know I be the Sigma is not the most popular organization and do I give a dick no I
Don’t care because I have fun I think my organization one of the best organs is cuz I chose that on my own you’re not saying so for me I’m always be proud so I want you all to be the same way even if your mom and dad did
Something different be proud because you made that decision on your own always feel so good when you can make a decision on your own without the help of anybody saying oh you need to join this you should join it so you’re joining something because somebody else did it you made that
