Negatives so I want to be transparent with you all I want to share you know the negatives and the cons I don’t want to sugar coat anything I want to put y’all on game now it’s not many cons it’s only about three or four that I’m
Going to share with y’all that I can think of I know it’s a lot more depending on different people experiences but I’m going to share with y’all my cons and I’m let y’all know so let’s get started Man all right y’all so the first con I would say is stereotypes and the reason why I say stereotypes is because people will put you in a box and I’m saying this because when you join a fraternity every fraternity has a stereotype people either see that fraternity as smart
Dressing well being lame nerds people have a preconceived notion about the fraternity you’re joining so whenever you join people automatically assume that’s how you act that’s how you’re supposed to look that’s how you associate people cuz you might be joining based on the ideas or the principles of that fraternity and people
Thinking you’re joining because you think that you know you dress clean or you’re smart or like people will put all all these things together to uh kind of figure out why you join guys put themselves in the Box as well they’re like oh I dress clean so I got to join
That forer don’t even think about the ideas of the Brotherhood or anything like that or they be like Oh I’m smart and people say they’re known for being smart so I guess I need to join them bro BR like stereotypes literally destroy fraternities I cannot stress
That enough enough but I’m not going to go on a tangent about it but definitely stereotypes number two the number two con I would say is expectations when you join a fraternity the guys before you will expect a lot from you you will have big shoes to fill big shoes to fill
Because either someone graduated that did this and now they need that position to be filled they will put you to work soon as you join and that can kind of be overwhelming because you just joined you kind of want to get a feel you kind of
Want to see if it’s something you can balance your schoolwork and academics with but they will put you to work as soon as you join you will either become a officer you will start doing uh projects hosting events they will put you on a committee like you will start
Getting involved soon as you cross soon as you have a probate I was a little overwhelmed when I joined cuz I started doing stff I like dang I just joined can I get a little comfy can I get a little comfortable but I’m telling you expectations is definitely a con because
They will throw things at you as soon as you start joining so be prepared for that number three number three will be the change up y’all know what I’m talking about the change up people join and now they don’t even know you no more they don’t even know who you are they
Walk right past you when they see you got it got it that’s the change up I’m talking about people will change up on you man and it’s sad because they knew you before you joined and now they act like they don’t even know you or if you join
A fraternity and it’s the opposite of the fraternity they that you joined they don’t even know you no more when they with their brothers they like I don’t even know that cat but just a few weeks ago before y’all cross y’all was playing Call of Duty in 2K I’m
Telling you bro that is definitely a con and it’s sad that people mentality can change so quick like just join a fraternity can say oh I don’t mess with that dude no more or we not even friends like that’s s and that’s what what I call fake and the change up is really
Where you start to see where your friends are fake if you’re still friends with someone and y’all join different organizations then they’re real but if the change up occur let them go bro let them go just let them go but yeah those are my cons I don’t want to talk to you
