A fraternity or sorority why should they choose you like what is it about you so we’re gonna talk about that today and some things that I think about whenever I’m looking to you know possibly talk to a person about joiner organization things you should be looking for so stay
Tuned in this video we gonna top it up let’s go So first off let me say this right here whenever you’re trying to join a MPAC organization you gotta think to yourself like why should they choose me what do I have to offer am i confident in myself do I know who I am like do I know what I
Want out of life like you got think about why should they choose you so whatever you’re going down this journey whenever you’re going down this road you constantly got to think about that because that’s gonna help set you up for the next step now here’s some things you
Should be thinking about when it comes to why should they choose you think about what are you currently doing on campus the make you look marketable to them are you involved in some type of organization or are you the type of student that just go to class and that’s
It you don’t go to any social events you don’t go to any parties you don’t go to any forms nor no kind of events on campus you just worry about your studies think about that because if you just worry about your studies that’s great but at the end of the day they want
Well-rounded individuals so if you’re just going to class that’s not gonna be good enough if you’re trying to join the NPHC organizations nothing you have to think about is your leadership if you think about it a lot of these members happen to be leaders on campus as well they’re
Not just in X Y Z organization they’re also involved in orientation they’re also involved in you know the Black Student Union they also involved in student government like it’s all kind of things that they’re involved in to prove that they’re leaders on campus as well now not everybody will be leaders in the
Organization you know but a good bit of the majority are so you got to make sure you can stack up you know I’m saying like you got to make sure you put yourself in the best position possible where you can possibly a leader as well because that’s gonna make you look good
It’s gonna make you look good and you’re gonna gain experience not nothing you should think about is your personality your personality says a lot and your personality is almost one of the primary reasons why they should choose you because you can mesh well with them and your personality is what’s the word I’m
Looking for um your personality is hmm I don’t know word I’m looking for right now your personality says a lot about you you know I’m saying if your personality is obnoxious you know you don’t get along with people why should they choose you if that’s your personality and you bring that into the
Organization you bring that into the chapter like why should they choose you if that’s your personality so make sure your personalities don’t shake like you feel comfortable around people you could talk to people you can engage in conversations you know you’re smiling you always positive make sure that now
If that’s not true don’t fake it but make sure you try to incorporate some of that in your personality because that will help them choose you and that will give them a reason why they should choose you because your personality just can’t deny the fact that you’re a good
Person and the question for today is what do you think you have to offer you have any Trey’s are you skilled at photography graphic design social media like what do you have to offer besides grades being involved in community service what do you have to offer let me

Selective just because you meet the minimum requirements just because you’re involved in a certain amount of organizations just because you’re involved on campus does not mean that you’ll get a spot in that fraternity or sorority and this goes back to my questions why should they choose you you
Have to offer something that certain people can’t offer or your graphic designer can’t take good pictures can you do fliers can you dance can you like what do you have to offer that most people won’t have to offer if that makes sense like what do you have that a lot of
People don’t have that they will want you know I’m saying it’s all good to be evolved to have a good GPA you know blah blah blah but what else do you have to offer you got to ask yourself that before you join the MPAC organization
Like what else do you have to offer are you offering everybody else is offering or do you actually have something else to offer a skill a trade like what do you have you might can do hair you might get cut like what else do you have to offer to
Organization and a lot of people don’t think about it this way but most people who have interests in a fraternity or sorority they’ve done a good bit of research and whenever it’s time for them to go to that interest meeting they’re gonna make sure they have the GPA
They’re gonna make sure they have some community service hours and they’re gonna make sure that they some leadership experience or organizational experience and community service so if majority of the people have that then what do you have to offer that’s different from them all y’all might have some of the same organizational
Experience y’all might have close GPAs like what do you have to offer you really have to think about that and if you don’t have nothing to offer cool you know I’m saying just embrace it and go in positive good attitude and everything you can’t always expect just because you
Have the minimum GPA or package GPA community service hours leadership experience all this that you should get in because at the end of the day a lot of NPHC organizations are looking for specific things it’s something that the chapter might be lacking that they might need you know I’m saying they might be
Like dang we need somebody that’s gonna bring this into our organization we’re gonna bring this specific thing into our chapter and if you have it then that’s gonna give you an upper edge so always think outside the box like what else do you have to offer man like I don’t know
How many times I could say this you know like you have to have other things on the table you can’t just go with the bare minimum you can’t just be like I’m involved in a few organizations I’m a leader in one this and that it’s cool
But it’s gonna be a bunch of other interests that have that same exact stuff going on but one thing that will make you look different one thing that will make you stand out is if you have something else to put on the table if everybody is playing spades and
Everybody got all hearts and you got a spade you win it you are gonna win I hate it but I love it at the same time because I didn’t they I can preach to you every single day every single week the things that you need to do that put yourself in the
Best position possible to get in and some of that still might not work if you don’t have what they’re looking for you have to have something else to offer you have to always think about what can I offer so when you’re on campus think about things that you could be doing
That’s different that you can offer to a MPAC organization or if you’re trying to join grants have the same thing think about different things you can do in the community think about different traits that you have different trades that you have can help the organization be successful that can help the chapter
