Out with your Neos or just help you out this might be new in your organization but today we’re going to talk about legacies yes legacies I’m going to explain what legacies are if your legacy how you should act and how you should approach joining a organization I’m

Gonna get into all that in this video so make sure you hit that like button before you even watch the video cuz you know it’s already gonna be dope it’s gonna be lit we always leave here every single Tuesday but let’s get into the video All right so first off I’ll explain what a legacy is legacy means you are interested in an organization that your mom or dad may have done so if you’re a guy and your dad is a part of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity incorporated and say

You want to be a part of Phi Beta Sigma as well well that will make you a legacy if you you know go through with that process you will be considered a legacy let’s say if you’re trying to join the sorority and your mom is let’s say a

Zeta and you want to be a Zeta as well well that mean you will be considered a legacy so that’s what a legacy means all right so the question of the day do you have any family members in any fraternities or sororities or will you

Be the only one in your family to take that first step like I was I was the first in my family to go Greek would that be you you know I’m saying let me know in the comment section if you have anybody in your family and MPIC organization now when it comes to

Legacies there’s a certain way you should act on campus and I’m not saying you should thank you up here I’m not saying you should think you’re down here but you need to be right there in the middle you don’t need to tell anyone you’re Lexie you don’t need to be going

Around campus say no no don’t go around saying that because then people would think that even if you don’t intend for it to sound like this people would think that you think you have an upper edge over them especially if they’re interested in one of those organizations

That nega like dang they’d add a part of it he he he’s a shoo-in he’s easily gonna get in there or dang her mom is a part of this organization it’s gonna be easy for her to get in like you don’t want people to think that you have an

Upper edge on them cuz they might start rumors they might start stuff that make you get from right here to down here so make sure you don’t go around blabbing and telling everybody that’s your legacy it’s not gonna help you out now the next thing is when your legacy some people

Always ask should I tell the organization that my mom or dad is a part of this organization or should I keep it to myself that’s really up to you but if it was me I wouldn’t just blatantly say oh my mom as a part of this organization if they

Ask you then it’s cool to be truthful you don’t you shouldn’t lie but don’t just willingly tell them that your mom or dad is a part of that organization and nine times out of ten if your mom or dad graduated from that school and graduated from that chapter

They priority no anyway oh just say it out loud cuz didn’t make it seem like that you think that that should get you into the organization if they ask go ahead and tell them don’t lie to anybody because that will mess you up this world

Cuz if they find out and then you lied that’s gonna bring you down as well so being a legacy is you gotta be in the middle man and it’s hard it’s really hard and I understand that more than legacy so I had to worry about that but

I do know people that was legacies there’s different things like that so I’m trying to help you all out if your legacy now when your legacy people always say oh you’re gonna have it easier online or you’re gonna have an easier during an intake process you don’t have to work as

Hard you just sit back eating fruit and stuff man i’ma tell you this right here I feel like legacy sometimes get it harder they want to know for sure you’re not joining this organization just because your mom or dad did the organization they want you to prove that

You want this just as bad as anybody else that didn’t have any history with the organization they don’t want you to just join because you want to keep it in the family traditions they want you to join because it’s something you really want to do it’s something you ask your

Mom and dad about is something you was doing your home research on you did all of this looking up and and and and bam lost my train of thought but you did all this because it’s something you really want to do not just because your mom or

Dad did it it is a lot of pressure it’s a lot of pressure because of your parents now I’m gonna tell you this right here don’t ever feel like you need to join a fraternity or sorority because your parents is a part of that organization use your own mind and your

Own brain to do your own research and figure out if that’s what you want to do it’s not about what your parents want you to do it’s not about what your friends want you to do is not about what your cousins did it’s about you as your

Own person in this process do not do not join an organization just because your parents is forcing you and pushing it on you just because your mom is a data that does not mean you have to be a Zeta that does not mean you have to do the

Research on it doesn’t mean whatever they do and stand for stands for what you’re trying to get out of an organization like do not let the pressure get to you be your own person in this process as so many people out here that join just because of their mom

And dad did that organization and that’s never gonna be good you have to make that decision on your own of course they’re going to influence you of course they’re gonna say you need to do this and of course they’re gonna try to take you to some chapter events and stuff

Like that so you get a first-hand feeling what it’s like but in there that’s not what you feel and that’s not what you want to do then there’s no need to put yourself through the intake process pay this money to become something that you don’t want to be in

The long run now another thing that might be kind of bad as if you choose the opposite organization so maybe your mom is an aka and you want to be a delta you know they might take it a certain way you know I’m saying and that’s life

They’d grown behind people they got a handle your decisions you got to make sure you can back up your decision like they go it’s always gonna be that but you already got to put it in your mind at eight I’m my own person and I ain’t

Feeling that boom y’all do this I ain’t feeling that like be blunt with your parents be blunt with your cousin’s with your friends they all gonna want to push you a certain weight but do what you want to do because at the end of the day

It’s all about you you gotta be selfish in this process you can’t think about anybody else especially if you have parents and brothers and sisters and cousins in these organizations and you choose the opposite organization of course they gonna feel some type of way but if that’s what you really choose and

Feel and that’s what you gotta do don’t don’t let them you know push all this on you you know I say like I said this before one of my live feeds you know if I ever have kids and then they grow up and then say my son wannabe I

Or a Kappa Q alpha like I don’t care cuz I’m not gonna push something that I felt in college for me on somebody else you know I’m saying it might be great for me but it might not be great for them the chapter was great for me the chapter of

Campus that there at the organization might not be great for them so I’m not about to push that on them because at the end of day I wanted them to be happy with the choice that they chose like if you’re a parent watching my videos cuz I

Know I have a few parents on here and they might be you know organization don’t push it on your kids man let them choose whatever they want to do and that help out in long run you know I’m saying because at the end of the day this is
