Life the questions on everyone’s mind was how can he Grant eternal life they had been intellectually and spiritually challenged by Jesus’s many sermons but this particular sermon sermon was a hard one for them to swallow have you ever heard a sermon that was hard for you to
Swallow oh mostly all of them kind of hard for y’all swallow Jesus when he finished his sermon many complained saying this is a hard lesson who can understand it and they was right it was a hard one yes Jesus was teaching that he was the only way to eternal life no
Religiousness no generous philanthropy and certainly no structural or strict adherence to the old Covenant would guarantee anyone eternal life amen amen Jesus was teaching that eternal life was his and his alone to Grant and the only way it could be was through his body and through his blood are you still
Here we tend my brothers and sisters to avoid the uncomfortable but Jesus did not avoid the uncomfortable he could have explained to the Jews what it meant to eat his flesh and drink his blood very plainly but he didn’t do so he wanted his audience to fully graps the gravity of the
Situation our text records that many did not believe or perhaps they just did not understand so they turned away from following Jesus Lord have mercy I wonder today what would make you turn away from following Jesus I wonder is it some of the hard sayings that Jesus might say
That will cause some of us to turn away and say that that’s too much you know that saying that that he says sometimes about bringing that tithe into the storehouse right that one right there will cause some of us to turn away and and not walk with Jesus
Anymore what about that other one that he says husband love your wife even as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her oh that makes some walk away right there and what about that other one that says wi submit yourselves wow unto your husbands but
This is right in the sight of the Lord you some of those things that Jesus say make us want to turn around and walk away because they hard they’re hard only because our hearts are and the thing that Jesus say he says in the spirit and you need his Spirit to welcome those
Things to embrace those things so they turned away from following Jesus then Jesus turned to the 12 disciples and said will you also go away Simon Peter as he usually was was quick to respond he said Lord to whom shall we go thou has has the words of eternal
Life we have come to believe and know that you are the Christ the son of the Living God Peter’s question was actually a confession of unquestioning Faith let me ask you today to Whom Shall when you need answers for the 12 questions in life uh nowhere really to go but to the
Lord but ask yourself to whom shall we go with our sins see a bail out from some wealthy philanthropist won’t get get the job Done Psalms 49:7 says that man’s currency is no good in spiritual matters it says none of them can by any means redeem his brother nor give God a ransom for him a fellow Christian can’t Grant you forgiveness for sins for he too is a sinner amen amen he can only help you
Deal with your guilt by urging you to confess and forsake your sins Proverbs 28:13 says he who conceals his transgressions will not Prosper he who tries to hide his sin will not Prosper but he who confesses and forsakes his sins shall find Compassion if you go to some Earthly priest and confess your sins to him that won’t help you either 1 Timothy 2: 5 Paul said for there is one God one God and one mediator between God and Men the man Christ Jesus we can confess our sins my brothers and sisters and wrongdoings
Directly to God L we don’t need a spiritual Mentor we don’t need really a pastor we don’t need a priest or a spiritual leader there is no human mediator between you and God because God gave us Jesus the Christ and forgive forgiveness is his domain too many people today Miss
Salvation because they can’t bring themselves to admit they are sinners well too many people today Miss salvation because they can’t bring themselves to admit that they are sinners they live under the pretext of perfection resting on their false glories unwilling to confess their faults to
God but first John 1 18-10 says if we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness if we say that we have not
Sinned we make him a liar that’s right and his word is not in us oh my brothers and sisters Jesus is the word Jesus is the truth that needs to be in us he is the only mediator and exclusive intermediary between God and man no other name has been given by God
In heaven by which we must be saved God gave us only one way to be saved from my sin and he said this in Acts chap 16:31 believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved that’s right there ain’t a whole lot of way there ain’t but one
Way the Lord Jesus Christ if you really want to be saved so the people in our text heard Jesus preach how he alone could grant them eternal life and many rejected what he said and same goes on today people reject the fact that Jesus is the only only
Way there are people today who believe that he is not but one way well there are people who believe there are many ways to be saved that’s right when the Bible say there is only one way amen and I know no other way uhhuh than the Bible way that’s right
Whereby we must be saved saved amen it sounded too hard but God actually made it simple my brothers and sisters for man to approach him even a young child can understand the route to Salvation since the Lord made it so plain whosoever believes in Christ will not perish but have everlasting
Life Jesus was crucified died our sins was buried and rose again on the third day and he said no man comes to the father except but by me period all you have to do is Believe to receive amen Lord have mercy Amen to whom shall we go with our sins and then there’s another question we need to ask ask to whom shall we go for inward peace somebody need some of that this morning amen they need some inward peace because these holidays can be very
Stressful they can these holidays can be very depressing especially when you think you got to have a whole lot of this and a whole lot of that when all you need is a roof over your head clothes on your back shoes on your feet and a little bit of food to eat don’t
Need a whole lot of that do it y’all better Hur up and say Amen we don’t need all that food Lord help us that’s what’s killing most of us right there too much to eat oh Lord Jesus don’t let me park right there let me move from there Jesus at least I condemn
Myself to whom shall we go for inward peace the sinner has no peace of mind and there is no peace to be discovered in the pleasures of sin we know when we are guilty of committing sin and the knowledge of it festers in us because we know
Right from Rome amen Paul said in Romans chap 2 verse 14- 15 that even the Gentiles who lack knowledge of Jewish law do by Nature things required by the law and pro that the requirements of the law are written in their heart yes let me try to give you a few
Examples a child will take what does not belong to him and hide it no one taught him to steal and hide the evidence well he just knows that is wrong well if he didn’t know it was wrong he wouldn’t try to hide that’s right A man lies about his charitable
Donations to the tax preparer yes he does no one told him to lie and he knows that lying is wrong or it wouldn’t be claiming it was all cash do Nations look out now the point is my brothers and sisters there are many ways we can numb our consciousness of
Sin we can come up with all kinds of excuses uh the child tells himself he deserves the cookies in the cookie jar well but he still hopes Mama doesn’t Discover that it was him who took it mhm that’s right the man tells himself he’s entitled to a bigger tax refund uhhuh
But he hopes he won’t hear from the Irish that’s right and neither of them will experience real peace because sin gws at us Lord have mercy as Christians my brothers and sisters our moral conscience is supposed to mature as we grow in our knowledge of God amen amen amen
Sin should bother us yes sir if we are Christians uhhuh and it should drive us to seek forgiveness and confession and to do what we can to remedy the wrong that we’ve done amen amen unrepented sin will keep us awake at night and it should sin can and sin will steal your
Peace amen amen won’t it happen yes sir how can I live in sin and feel my savior’s love oh yeah sin will rob you of your peace peace and you ought to be glad about that because if you can sin and it don’t bother you you don’t know the Lord too
Good if sin make you uncomfortable yeah you ought to praise the Lord for that because if you can sin and it does not do anything to you tell your neighbor you need to get Saved but confess sin does just the opposite it releases us from guilt through Christ there is no such thing as unforgiving Sin all confessed sin is reversible revocable and redeemable thank god oh you forgot to praise him right there amen mhm that’s me there may be Earthly

Souls and for this cause he said a man and a woman ought to examine the themselves and because in Paul’s time they did not examine themselves many died because they took the Lord’s Supper in vain let us search our hearts now and hear me now if you feel like there’s something between you and God that was hinder you from taking communion pray about it and ask God to deliver you to heal you to restore you because you want that
