How we doing folks welcome back Maiden cast and you know why old Brucey is back on the firm so yeah a Bruce people if you’re new to the show this is Maiden cast this started right in the thick of the lockdowns um we decided to start
Reviewing all the way all of the album start that sentence again shall I in the thick of the lockdown me and Luke two lifelong friends and Iron Maiden fans we went why don’t we review all of the maiden albums and we went let’s be extra ambitious let’s do all the solo albums
And all the side projects as well well how should we do it I mean let’s do it in the order they were all released yeah so that’s what we did and it took us what just over a year and then um what we’ve been doing ever since is uh just
Chipping in well coming back together whenever there’s any news or anything worth talking about um we last got together when we went to see um went we went to see IR am Maiden so we did a review of the show and then uh we went to see Paul diano the other week and
Um we did a show on that did we do a show on that we did did a did a review for PA yeah and uh and now we’re here to do a first initial reaction uh because we’ve just watched the latest video the new single from Bruce Dickinson yeah off the glow
Ro from the Dickinson in full on creative mode I think it’s and I mean what can you say about a man he’s he’s never want to do something by ARS is he no no and um this is has been in the this has been in the pipeline for
A while because when he put out his autobiography we went to the uh trucky he was doing the well book tour basically he read a couple of chapters and did a big Q&A and all the rest of it and someone asked the question then is
It gonna are you ever going to do a solo album again he did say yes yeah he did yeah and uh but uh so this has been worked on for a while so let’s because the opening track on book of souls that obviously was meant to be
From this album yeah I mean dickon wrote it and it’s from this album and apparently he has he has redone it well you get the demo for the album yeah so this song you can get as a seven inch single and the bside to that is the
Demo is the demo the demo that Steve Harris went hm I’m having that but he said in one of his he said in one of his YouTube shorts that he’s actually reworked the song it’s on the album it is on the album because um in the video that you’ve no doubt watched already
People um if you’re trying to concentrate on a song and the video is like trying to split your brain because there’s so much going on the main character necropolis he’s actually talked about at the end if eternity should fail that little voice over bit he’s necropolis but I got from that that
He’s some sort of immortal being so is what we’re seeing now he’s origin story well we’ve got the M Drake project make him into something well he he is studying well on chemical wedding he was talking a lot about uh William Blake and Alisa Crowley yeah two people that experimented in well yeah
Me me is using science in order to achieve the Divine um so we’ve got that straight away we’ve got a quote quote from William Blake yes pretty cool quote actually Ragnarok is uh n mythology so you got the poetic Eda in that um but from the imagery as well from the comic
Book because at the end you got comic book you’ve got uh Lovecraft elements love crafty and creatures so they definitely pretty much anything where there’s a portal open that’s yeah and a techical creature comes it did seem pretty end of the worldy as well the end of the video didn’t it shot
To the eiel Tower and all the rest of it and yeah so heavily influenced by what he did for writing on the wall I would say all the post-apocalyptic sort of thing of that has definitely bled into this and helped him form well yeah I mean that was biblical was it but yeah
This mind you yeah I say Lovecraft but Lovecraft was definitely influenced by n mythology anyway so um because North mythology is all different gods and hello oh part one part two you still there G no yeah I’m still lost your video oh we’re back here we go technology yeah
Um Robert E Howard as well you got that um but yeah I saw a mishmash of all sorts of influences in there and that’s what does he um well it’s what all but don’t steal from anyone steal from everyone and that’s look like what he’s done um and yeah it’s you know he’s
Always he’s a bookworm always has been so yeah bit of mology bit of lovecrafts bit of classic horror bit of William Blake as well this is all good and he’s he’s crafted a story using like I say nicking from our little this is our little taste
Inter that and it and yeah and it look I mean the video is kind of not low budget but it looks like the end it’s been edited by Adobe [ __ ] Pro or whatever so it’s very very [ __ ] DIY but when the the characters talking with the red eyes and
That was yeah um so yeah so it’s obviously a project where someone somewhere is missing about yeah science scientific because all the stuff’s redacted and it in the file that Sim Str stranger things is basically love Lovecraft you know I mean this what the man Drake project what they play in God
Like you say because Alchemy all to do with achieving the Divine through science so are they trying to do that and they’re bringing about the end of the world we will find out on the album I that because it’s it’s going to be a concept and half it’s you can’t skip a
Song I don’t think on this yes it’s look it’s looking like well so we know it’s called The Man Mand Drake project we’ve got half a go it’s back Roy Z is back on back on Bard yeah so he’s been writing with him the whole time he’s not been in
A rush to finish it so you know that this has been this has been crafted to Perfection yeah um so it’s going to be a concept album and we’re going to get a comic book to accompany it by the looks of it as well graphic graphic novel whatever your
Persuasion is and uh what is the difference I don’t I’ve never understood what the difference is Comics are for kids graphic novels for adults that’s a that’s a great line as well is it it’s the same thing enjoy what you enjoy people don’t [ __ ] worry about
Labels yeah yeah exactly but um I think it is just so people can yeah 45 and go into the shop and go uh can I have a graphic novel yeah yeah yeah that’s it it’s like when you grow up you start eating chicken gons not chicken that’s not chicken
Nugget so um but um so videos definitely like say low byy low budget and out there um trying to I don’t like well say I don’t like any much choice but you’re trying to listen to the song but you’re also trying to take in the video as well
So it’s bit of a bit [ __ ] song the song is up on all your favorite streaming platforms I had a quick listen to it on Spotify just now and um it’s very heavy very classic very very Bruce it sounds like Bruce Dion solo stuff but it doesn’t sound like anything
Else Bruce has written which is Bruce in a nutshell he’s always thinking outside the box because Roy Roy is a extremely talented songwriter and guitarist and um you know he definitely brings a brings outsid in Bruce that he can’t get anywhere else yeah yeah I agree with that I mean I was
Uh on the on the other show Rush cast um I was saying to Paul I because basically in Rush cast now Kevin Shirley has coming to the picture ah right yeah so um and know he was he was saying like I know he’s gone into a loot of Maiden albums and all
That but I said because they had mixed result mixed reaction to the production but this mind this particular one Kevin shell didn’t actually produce it but he did engineer it yeah yeah um but I said that some people have had different reactions to different albums
I said I felt a certain way but the um the guy’s resume speaks for itself the bands that speaks for itself so if I don’t like how that album sounds it’s how they want it to sound so what it is but um I’ve always well a lot of people want um Iron Maiden
To sort of downtune and get a bit crunchier with as as music as Metals got heavier they would have liked Maiden to have got heavier with with with that but they they didn’t they stuck to the gun stuck stuck what he wants and he and if
You do but I’m fine with that because that itch gets scratched on accident of birth and wedding that’s I was saying by the sounds of it well two on Souls as well definitely and yeah exactly yeah about that one didn’t yeah yeah that dropped out nowhere didn’t it
To on his soul it was like oh here you go [ __ ] okay and it was there you go there was no tour there was no whereas this one that’ be cool actually if if some songs off that do finally get played they will because I mean I I
Breathe I breathe rarified a because I’ve seen Bruce Dickson live solo I’ll see him back on the chemical wedding tour and um as far as I recall then he was play [ __ ] long time ago he talking 25 years but um he was he did he he played he played the songs he likes
Playing from his soloer career so there will be a smattering obviously you’ll get a lot of the new album but he will he will play he’ll go right the way back to T millionaire yeah yeah and there won’t be any Maiden songs don’t even no you know
No say he’s not not about that yeah but but no should be good but the song I mean when you think Dickson 65 his voice is still still on it’s well crafted it’s it’s heavy in the right places it’s atmospheric I’ve got that cor stuck I’ve
Only listened to it is an earworm is it I’ve got again you know I’m not I’m not a fan of the production I must admit i’ I’m not not digging it but still it’s nice and crunchy but I’m not a fan of the drum sound but that’s just minor minor
Quibbles you know um but the song itself you know I when I when I was hearing the snippits and all that I weren’t I was like oh I’m not too sure about this the intro is really cool really really moody but when the main song kicked in I was
Like oh I don’t know but listen to it a couple more times it is a grower so if you feel the same way as I did stick with it because it’ll it’ll L way where this is in the album as well is this an opener is it exactly yeah it’s the thing
Listening to something as we know listening to songs out of context it th this is why I’ve I’ve stopped listening to songs I mean I’ve not listened to any of the judas’s priest songs yet yeah um I just don’t care I just I’ll wait for the album yeah the um you’re unfortunately music
Industry at the moment is is built for that is it I just I just think whoever’s selecting the songs nine times out of 10 should be sacked especially especially nuclear blast um I mean I really liked the last Slayer album but oh yeah we some like six songs out before that and
I didn’t I was I don’t like any of these this is going to be I’m getting really worried now and then I listened to the Alum like this is really good yeah this is really good oh I know this one this don’t sound too bad now now now now it’s
And now in order it yeah it made and I’m thinking why the [ __ ] did they release this I know yeah does made a to and I do yeah I’ve felt a lot of the times now I just think you’ve of all the songs you could have released Mega Death was
Another another one when um they started touring doia before it even came out yeah we saw him we and here’s a song the threat is real and it was just and then you hear the song dystopia like mate you should have opened with that oh dystopia
The song is is brilliant the Frat is real is the Fret is real is sort of fway Mega but the start it’s an intro it’s like an it is an intro it’s yeah why that was yeah so there you go that’s why I I just wait for the album but yeah but
Having said that I think there’s a reason dick released this one I make an exception with Dickson yeah yeah no there is a re we we’ll find out there is a reason why this song come out before any other it’s probably is the opener to be fair it’s probably I mean or the
[ __ ] end you know I could go with a real thing there and go this is probably the most accessible one for all we know he’s gone F bloody yeah tall jeffro to or something like that he can AFF F to doesn’t give a [ __ ] about Sals is he you know what I mean
Suful the sell itself anyway and even if it’s a flop which it won’t be but if it would was oh will oh no I’ll have to go back to the day job yeah frontting the biggest [ __ ] metal band ever and they’ve got another tour booked at the
End of the year anyway so yeah yeah and they’re playing in South America where it don’t matter you could put out a [ __ ] album every year for five years and you still be welcome with open arms in South America metal Maniacs mate metal maniacs but but no this is this is lodged its
Way in we got about [ __ ] three months to wait I think before the album but no doubt we’ll get more Snippets he’s quite active now on YouTube dropping little bits and all the rest of it so they’ll be I think you’ll have to you have to pay attention did
You um he’s got a podcast um yes yeah it’s completely random now not do with music it’s all about [ __ ] weird [ __ ] um my wife listened to it he does like a yeah he turned up on the Discovery Channel Once on a show about putting together a steam engine train oh
Yeah he’s he’s he’s [ __ ] He’s fingers in all the PES M all of them yeah you know he’s he’s an educated man and he he needs those Outlets like that quote says at the beginning I’m but you know par hang on I’m gonna find it I don’t want
To rip it up quite a cool quote I must create a system or be enslaved by another mans I will not reason and compare my businesses to create and that sums up Dickson in a [ __ ] nutshell you know he is all about creating he’s all about exploring creating he’s not following anyone’s [ __ ]
Line no I love for it and even his um Outside Music activities you know yeah yeah he’s a he’s a Creator in fact I don’t know how he has time to do music really everything he he gets up to yeah no we love him and um but yeah go

There oh look there you go um I went to see Paul again last night might as well talk about that might I yeah I [ __ ] had to blow it out I was Ill so uh it’s pretty cool because I’ve got to the point where I just accepted I was never
Gonna see Paul Live and then month seen him three times three times in a month and a half yeah he’s done four shows in London and I’ve gone to three of them so yeah yeah [ __ ] cool um pretty much the same it wasn’t the same actually he had an intro track come
Out and um at this time he they opened um he had a completely different ban this time though completely different lineup um there was rumors of a song being played it must have been from Killers because he’s done the first album for himself and all of those songs would
Have been played at the um one of the earlier shows they did jam it so it obviously didn’t go well right because it was on the set list and I did play it but on the set list it actually said Jam next to it in Brackets right what prodal
Sun we’re talking about guys um there was a rumor he was going to do it but it sounds like it didn’t go well so which is a bummer because I think everyone loves that song yeah and to this day I don’t think anyone no no one’s touched
It touched it so that would have been really cool but instead we got a cover of Holiday in the Sun by Sex Pistols and that just came out of nowhere and it was just because it’s starts with A and everyone was just sort of looking at each other going what song’s this then and then and all of a sudden everyone just went oh sex pistol and the place just erupted and um and Paul did it really well he he kind of he had the Johnny
Waton snile but he kept it and um yeah yeah it was just a nice little surprise at the end it was just like [ __ ] yeah cool and then um he said like he can’t he said I can’t believe you know what he said shall I
Say it it’s on YouTube I don’t know if to say it no better not hey apparently he didn’t have kind words for the current London M yeah we’ll leave it at [Laughter] that if he said [ __ ] Trump I’d been allowed to say it though wouldn’t I
That’s the thing yes exactly yes we all know but but uh it’s the internet’s not fair not balanced but but then the um but now you said I can’t believe I haven’t played in England for all this time um it’s been brilliant and um and then we finished with uh Drifter which
Is what I always said even back and that thing this is a song to close a show with singing sing along yeah um but yeah the band were really good it was it’s just great hearing those songs of course he dedicated uh remember tomorrow to Clive the drummer had a kit like they
There was three bands on and they all shared this Michael pulo kit um the support band were really good I’m gonna be doing a video about the support band on the uh in the next day or two um I was really impressed by them um not nocturnal they were called but
I’m going to be doing a video covering them so watch out for that but they were fantastic um no it just really good gig really good night out and um yeah it was great seeing Paul three times in me favorite venue as well the Underworld for all the right and wrong reasons and
Um yeah it was really good he was he’s still in a lot of pain though like he was a bit he was still a bit grouchy at the beginning but yeah again once he settled in it must be a pain in the ass getting through those corridors and up
Ramps and oh [ __ ] hell yeah I don’t think you know well of course he doesn’t like being in a wheelchair but I think it I don’t know he um he’s just really agitated when he gets on the stage you know it takes him a while to yeah to get into it get take
It off flying yeah but but you had the same guy come on and he’s oh Mark yeah and then as he walked away win yeah this this guy Mark I’ve actually I’ve actually made friends with a guy on Facebook and he’s because long suffering Mark yeah we thought Paul had
Killed him and thrown him in a ditch after the first G but he said no no still here so he he he gets about and he said no I I’ll still suffer but I love it so fair player to guy would on Mark big up but um no but hopefully now um that’s
What he said as well he said that this is his 10th show in the road I mean the guy works you know yeah and um he did he once he got going actually once he lightened up he had some really good banter in in between the songs I’m
Trying to think of some stuff now but he like the crowd were everyone was laughing and that he was oh what was it he was saying oh we said that the next this next song um that no one knows this but the uh Steve Steve wander actually wrote the lyrics for
It and thing is we couldn’t find them and it was Transylvania uh stuff like that uh yeah it was um yeah once he settled down he was he got in he got in good SP a laugh of everyone he’s Stiller in he so yeah and the
Uh aing you not you know the crowd were just happy to see him you know and everyone was giving it the old you know murders in the room like whoa yeah oh here’s one thing as well um you know uh he always saying oh this goes out to the Hell’s Angels in that
Yeah place was yeah the Hell’s Angels were there yeah they had all the Jack like the jackets on and everything yeah they had the thing the one there that goes around in London yeah so um yeah got out of there sharish so yeah don’t don’t cross them don’t cross them yeah
They they they’re uh they your best friends or your worst enemy yeah was from what I gather I don’t know fair fair play you that’s generally the thing yeah they’re your best friend or your worst enemy cross them at your peril so but he does talk about them a lot and

An album yeah it’ll be an album yeah but how [ __ ] awesome is it it’s 2024 nearly nearly 2024 and you got Dio back out doing shows Dickson back out doing solo stuff and Blaze just smashing out after having a [ __ ] near-death experience and still putting out quality
Gear and doing shows it’s [ __ ] yes mate so yeah all three of the the singers are are active putting out material touring and [ __ ] Steve Harris is doing solo [ __ ] Adrian Smith’s doing it Maiden are alive mate plus you got Maiden tour at the end of the year
As well [ __ ] Future Past tour still going yeah you know oh it’s it’s good time to be a maiden fan never have they been more relevant more vital and still influencing the Next Generation yeah [ __ ] awesome mate yeah up the irons on that note if this is your first if
