Thessalonica uh about something that kept reoccurring they were getting really uh disturbed about it agitated about concerned about it and uh Paul wanted to give them encouragement God wanted to give them encouragement and uh so we’re just going to take a couple of U verses from from the two letters 1
Thessalonians 1 then first Thessalon 2 Thessalonians and I begin in first Thessalonians where it says therefore when we could no longer endure it we thought it good to be left in athens’s thought it good to be left in aens alone and sent Timothy our brother and minister of God and our fellow lady
Labor in the gospel of Christ to establish you and encourage you concerning your faith that no one should be shaken by these afflictions for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this now Paul is not saying that God’s appointed people to live under Affliction he’s talking and making
Reference to a a spiritual battle that’s going on that’s disturbing them and because they don’t have or didn’t have a Bible the way you have they didn’t carry a Bible it wasn’t first fully constructed Bible is about 300 years after the resurrection of Christ but they had letters like this and uh
Whether they recopied them or or memorized them and spoke out of them they didn’t have what you have so you know very Christianity was very very new in the first years in the first Decades of the Gospel being preached a lot of persecution was going on from judaizers
And and and and Jesus despisers and haters God haters and this just the world system demonically as it was then and notice what he says that Paul says or the Holy Spirit saying through Paul I’m sending I’m sending Timothy to uh a fellow labor of the gospel of Christ
Right so we know what this Center is to establish you to encourage you concerning your faith because your Faith was getting faith in Christ and faith and believing um with the various promises uh was being shaken that no one should be shaken by these afflictions by

Afflict or disturb or to shake you well let’s go on to the second letter Paul again writes the same church and he says now I beseech you Brethren by the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and by our gathering together unto him that ye be not soon shaken in mind with your
Imaginations in your thoughts or be troubled neither by Spirit you know attitudes and I’m sure demonic spirits or by word or by letter as from us as that day of Christ is at hand let no man deceive you by any means we currently live in very interesting times there’s a
Lot of deception going on and a lot of deception has seeped into the church even called what’s called heresies a false presentation of Jesus Christ and uh a false presentation of the Gospel whether not only in America but all over the world and uh Paul was very clear about
It and that’s why throughout the Bible he encourages us to not be shaken turn your neighbor say be not shaken not Shen turn to someone else and say be unshakable because this is what I’m going to tell you straight out of the gate you will be tempted to be
Shaken in word or In Deed things you see things you hear whether in the church outside the church it’s going to happen the enem is going to do everything to shake you up to get you to lose your grip on Christ in your faith in your conviction there’s a the reason why he
Tries to shake you it’s not because he just doesn’t have anything else to do he knows how powerful the church is oh it’s like y’all miss the place right there to shout amen but anyway it’s okay okay I’m back and you lost your voice okay so so Paul so even Peter

For its prey to devour take a decisive stand against him resist his every attack with strong vigorous Faith now notice Paul earlier says don’t let your faith be shaken Peter now says or the holy ghost is now saying because your faith is the resistance or the the the
Key to overcoming but here it says take a decisive stand say a decisive stand so many people in the church today and even with what’s going on with all the modern presentations of all the philosophies and ideologies are so undecided so undecided they like want to
Find a neutral ground on the issue they don’t they want to be politically correct you know what that’s called it’s called wokeism it’s called another gospel another Jesus with another Spirit when you can’t be decided or when a person called a Believer cannot be decided about what Jesus

Loudly the actions of your life so many people think well that’s not what I intended but look at all your living look at your actions cuz something is being displayed the adversary cannot read your mind he’s not God he’s a fallen angel you have authority over him we the
Church have authority over him oh I need a better amen than that I’m not intimidated by him but he is a real enemy and so you need to take a decisive stand against things in your life whether it’s a habit a character flaw whether it’s uh sin whether it’s an
Iniquity it doesn’t make a if you don’t take a decisive stand you’ve not taken a stand all you are is double-minded and that double Mind Is An Open Door for the devil to slap your jaw every way he wants to anytime he wants to you don’t take decisions you’re not decisive about
Your imagination in your thoughts he’s going to have a hey day with you that’s why you’re so troubled all the time some of you are worried because you’ve never taken a decisive time against worry some of you are anxious you’re eating up with anxiety because you don’t take a

Statement with the spirit of the Lord is upon me now Church you and I need need to understand notice what Jesus says he says the spirit of the Lord is upon me this Jesus has always been God has never stopped being God but there was a time
In the season for 33 and A2 years when he was on this earth born of a virgin and then once he defeated death H in the grave about 33 and A2 years was a time frame that he stripped himself it says in the Bible and became like many he was didn’t lose
His you know who he was he was God but he stripped himself with his divinity on purpose to identify and give you and I an example of how one day a new breed of people called the church with resurrection power with what he was going to do through his resurrection and
Make available to anyone and everyone you know with this resurrection power and the Holy Spirit how they would walk on the face of this Earth and Jesus’s life is a demonstration of that uh and an illustration of I can say that’s why today you and I we have these little

That with you because God is tapping a generation and I’m I’m just talking about a young group of people it could be a generation those that are still breathing and living you know um on the shoulder and it says you ready to wake up because you and I cannot build the
Kind of life that we need to build in our own strength you don’t have the quality you don’t have the ability you might have the looks that everyone is enamored with you might have certain uh things about your life that you’re enamored with or other people are
Enamored with but it’s never going to be your strength it’s going to give you the kind of life that you that you need the strength apart from Jesus Christ and I want you to know today there are too many people that uh are very unfamiliar with the power that they need to live
The kind of of life that brings value to them strength to their family strength to their marriage to society to make a change in the world every one of you in this room no matter how young you are or how season you are in the Lord are
Called to make a change in this in this world when zerob woke up and he realized it’s not by might nor by but by my spirit there’s a new Authority that came in and all of a sudden that which God assigned him to do or let’s put it this

Faith confession he made a statement a declaration of truth of what his heavenly father was going to do in him and through him you see your key my key the church’s key today the holy spirit is what qualifies us for the impossible the holy spirit is what
Qualifies you and I to do the impossible let me put that way see one person plus the Holy Spirit equals no impossibility you and I can overcome impossible looking feeling uh odds because it’s not by your might it’s not by your power it’s by the Holy Spirit it is the Holy Spirit who
Qualifies you it’s the Holy Spirit who prompts you it’s the Holy Spirit who um urges you and leads you into what’s called Miracle territory where you look at the impossibility but you need to understand that God needs you and I to go in there because it’s where he gets the things
Done that need to be done for example lives and peoples and situations that look like irreparable or lost or never coming out of that Darkness there is nothing that the name of Jesus cannot overcome nothing that the blood of Jesus cannot overcome nothing that the Holy Spirit cannot overcome that’s why you
See the stories in the gospels where God can raise up the dead like a Lazareth some of you have Lazarus situations in the environment the atmosphere of people you know and you say but they look so So Far So Gone so lost I’m here to tell you
Nothing is impossible with God it’s not that it’s not impossible but when they get a person like you to go into situation like that that looks impossible then you have by the leadership of the Holy Ghost a miracle come on somebody amen and it’s important see Christianity is impossible to be
Lived without the Holy Spirit without the holy spirit it’s impossible to live you know it’s important you need the word of God and you need the Holy Spirit see zerel had the assignment he had the word he had everyone around he had the right environment but he he couldn’t get
The job done because he was depending on himself see our strength does not qualify us and so to overcome that’s why I say you know my battle is not against flesh and but it really isn’t you might think it is somebody might think it is I
Can’t I can’t sit here all day long and debate their ideology I’m just going to tell you it’s not and what I want you to understand is that Jesus models and demonstrates something so powerful for you and I here this morning morning as I said a moment ago he is he is eternally
God he’s never stopped being God but he took that season to identify to be born of a virgin and to identify with you and I that’s why the Bible says Peter says that Jesus was anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power and went about doing good and heing all that were op
Pressed of the devil acts 10:38 I believe that is how would God why would he have to be anointed because he stripped himself of his identity so you can identify with his Humanity only he was you know filled with the Holy Spirit or baptize the Holy Spirit the river uh
Jordan so what’s important is this also in Isaiah and this is you and I facing Our Generation because don’t we say that greater is he that’s in us than he that’s in the world well I got one yes okay I’ll take that one and uh but here’s the other
Thing the Bible says listen to this Jesus makes this announcement in the Book of Luke chapter 4 but also he’s reading from Isaiah 61 and Jesus makes this announcement about the target audience he is after for a reason I have to hurry this for a reason his Target were broken
People that’s why he came cuz every person is broken without salvation they’re not completely hold I didn’t say they weren’t gifted I didn’t say they weren’t eligent I didn’t say they w’t good in in many areas of the life but without salvation you’re not whole without Jesus you’re not whole you’re
Really not and and the people who were broken were people who were um you know what would I call it collateral damage of the adversity of the adversary is all best way I can see it they couldn’t break through whatever was holding them back they couldn’t break out of the
Prison Gates that had them whether it’s finances or poverty or whatever emotionalism uh or they couldn’t break into a better life they were broken people whether they were shattered people because of life or oppressed or depressed or you know impoverished uh brokenhearted uh the list goes on and on
And on you know every kind of Brokenness is Jesus’s target audience but there’s a reason for this because God doesn’t want just I mean it is a beautiful thing to have a saved life but your saved life has so much more to it there’s so much
More it’s not just so that you can come to church although that’s necessary do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together there’s the purpose on your life there’s a plan for your life there is a power that God gives you for the life that he gave you and so see but the
Thing is this if all you’re going to do is look at your natural self which never qualifies you to do anything that Christ called you to do because in our natural self we are unqualified we’re just ordinary but it’s the Holy Spirit who makes you extraordinary let me put it to you
This way um for example but you have to recognize this power source oh my gosh and um the ministry of the holy spirit is very important remember there was a story where Jesus was talking to a crowd of people in there were religious leaders and scribes and Pharisees this and the other
And um and Jesus said to them only the sick need a physician he was talking to the Pharisees not just the the Common People he’s talking to everybody but the Pharisees didn’t think they needed a physician he was talking to the most diseased person in the crowd of people
The scribes the Pharisees the teachers of the law those that thought they were they had arrived with God and basically what he he said when what he meant when he said only the sick need a physic physician is I am the physician that you the sick Mr Pharisee need but unless you
Recognize your need for me as your physician you will have no value for what I’ve come to do for you that’s where people they have no value for Jesus and because they don’t realize how sick they are I don’t just mean physically with a kind of illness but

Reason they began to reason and began to go around it and yet the presence of God was there to heal the Pharisees the Sadducees that’s why they were sadu see anyways and so the most diseased people were the Pharisees were the religious leaders you know but they were unwilling
To recognize their need and so it disqualified them remember John John the Baptist he was he John the Baptist knew that he was unqualified to baptize in water Jesus of Nazareth when he came but because he knew he was unqualified is why the father Son and the Holy Spirit said he was
Qualified because when you know you’re unqualified but you’re given an assignment and by faith you take it you are dependent upon the only one who can give you the power to do whatever you’re assigned to do I mean you can be a father in the natural or you can be it
In Christ Jesus you can be a mother in the natural or you can do it in Christ Jesus you can try parenting with all your natural skills with all the books but you can go so much further with the Holy Spirit you see you can do it your
Your way or you can do it his way see when you don’t think you need him you don’t recognize how weak you really are Until you realize your powerlessness you’ll never step into being a powerful person so many people are too dependent on their power don’t depend on his power
And end up powerless lives even though they’re talented and they’re gifted you know in so many ways and I’m here to share with you that Jesus is calling us you know to be the these kind of individuals that bring a change to the world not because of us not because
We’re so qualified and so gifted or because we’re just uh this group of people that meet in this particular building and we call ourselves it is the power of the Holy Spirit the person of the Holy Spirit yes the door was open through Jesus Christ but the Holy Spirit
Has been sent to give you a powerful life and it’s important that you and I realizes that’s why the Bible says that’s why every one of you ought to be a disciple and a discipl maker every one of you I don’t care who you are how long
You’ve been in the church because the only people that ever followed Jesus were disciples now he never dealt with just Christians they weren’t Christians for 10 years they weren’t called Christians they were only disciples and disciples followers of Christ were the ones that made the changes in the world you want
To be a change maker you want to make a difference in the world meaning starting with your own life and your own family and your own environment and the the city the town the nation the state with the list goes on you have to be a
Disciple of Christ you cannot do it on your own you cannot do it just because you go to classes you have to depend on the person of the Holy Spirit can I have an amen that’s why it says it is he who qualified US making us fit worthy and
Sufficient um as ministers and dispensers of the New Covenant uh of Salvation through Christ not Ministers of the letter referring to the Old Testament but of the spirit the holy holy spirit makes a life your life be just even if you’ve come to church your whole life just wakes up your marriage
Wakes up your parenting wakes up your career wakes up you wake up waking up every day of your life when you realize the whole why the Holy Spirit has been sent to you yes you need his word of course you need his word of course you’ll always be thankful for the cross
Of Calvary but that opened the door for the Holy Spirit to come into your life to give you the kind of life that God himself knows you and I desperately need because it’s not by power not by might but by his Holy Spirit Come somebody get

Thessalonian Church Don’t Be Shaken Don’t Be Shaken by words don’t be shaken by things you see Don’t Be Shaken but that’s another kind of shaking when he knows he can’t get you in the negative sometimes he reverses and he tries to paint everything as being beautiful
Alluring and what it does is it also shakes you from your grip of dependency to go after the fame and go after the materialism of the world something material things don’t have a hold on you unless you let it be your idol many of you heard of the story of
Matthew Perry recently a guy who was F an unfortunate you know um I think one his one of his most popular series with the others was friends of course and he was found dead in his hot tub what a what a horrible way to leave life and yet there people are trying to
Make justification was he or was he not a Christian in his uh I think his I don’t know with his autobiography Memoirs whatever it was he did give indication he says he prayed to God to give him Fame and he got the fame but what God was he praying to there’s nothing wrong
With Fame but most people can’t handle from especially young people because they’re not because with that comes maturity and with all of that comes not only pressure from the world demonic pressure there’s nothing wrong with pursuing and dreaming and living the dream but this is why you have to stay Christ centered
Rather than me talking to you I want to share with you I came across a conversation between Eric Maxis who’s on TBN Trinity broadcast network and another Pastor that they were having about decisions that this pastor made when he was younger to count his life at his young
Age as it being serious enough to live with focus and this is how the conversation went watch this that Matthew Perry at AG 54 was found dead in a hot tub that’s kind of like a like like a I don’t know it’s just uh
Do we know anything I I I’ll be honest I always suspect the vaccine when it when when it’s heart failure or whatever we still don’t know how he died but I’ll be honest I’ve had so many friends uh and Friends of Friends die suddenly like this is a new thing um
But I I really didn’t follow uh Matthew Perry’s career but what did you have something you want to say about that as I was looking into the Matthew Perry death uh he said that according to his Memoir that he prayed to God that God would make him famous and then then
After I think 60 plus million dollars spent on rehab 17 times he went in couldn’t exercise the demons Eric and he said uh in his autobiography that Fame was the worst thing that could ever have happened to him and you get a lot of you know people in Christian you know churches
Evangelicalism they long to be famous instead of longing to be uh you know purposeful instead of Longing To Be You Know considered great before the audience of one they want the agulation of the masses and Perry got that he got a million dollars in episode super famous movies included on top of that
And and he he lost his whole life man I don’t know if he was redeemed emed but it’s an ignoble death to die in a hot tub and he’s got the world in New York City you know at his behest and he said that it made him miserable and he goes
Back to the maxim you know that Jesus said in Matthew it’s like what does it profit you and you lose your soul in the process so young people if you’re going to focus on something focus on seeking first the kingdom of God focus on that
Which is holy just and good and if God wants to fluff your pillow with some Fame so be it say la but this is a short life man and uh young people just like Paul told Titus uh tell the young men to take their life seriously and not you know
Pursue that which is Vanity and Goofy and I think that’s a that’s a takeaway you know for for the young well what people don’t realize because you can’t uh is that show business and fame and all that stuff is mostly an illusion in the sense that they’re never going to
Show you their misery they the crying in the pillow that you know they’re not you’re only going to see these images and you’re going to see you’re going to say oh that’s great I want that and anybody would want that that’s kind of normal you be oh be great to be famous
You know I did a a Socrates in the city event with Dick cavat this is over 10 years ago what is the price of Fame and the reason I invited him to be my guest at socc City wasn’t just because he’s known every famous person ever he knew
Them personally but he made a comment when Elizabeth Taylor died you know you don’t get more famous than Elizabeth Taylor and when she died he was on Like Larry King or one of those shows I don’t know if it was Piers Morgan and to hear
Dick cavid say this it kind of really I thought this is interesting because he’s not coming from a Biblical worldview but he said do not envy these people he says they they they you cannot imagine the pain in Elizabeth Taylor’s life you think everything is wonderful she and Richard Briton both alcoholics addicted
To drugs unbelievable pain and misery and storm and drunk you’re not going to see that he saw that and he talked about that and I was just amazed I said I want to have a Socrates in the city conversation with him which people can go to Socrates in the city and watch it
But I thought coming from him uh that was really interesting and you’re you’re saying the same thing that you you don’t have any idea what comes with that it’s like saying I want to be rich well yeah I get it money’s nice to have but you
Have no idea I’ve met a tons and tons of wealthy people who couldn’t be more miserable uh so we need to rehearse the basics I guess yeah and again you know goes back to Paul’s Maxim to uh Titus in regards to young men that my book lionhearted is aimed at instead of you
Know pursuing you know the this golden ring this influence I’m going to be famous people are going to love me man I would I I would hardly advise for people if your Holy Grail is anything make it uh the purpose of God make it the establishment of his kingdom because
This is a short life Eric and we’re going to have to stand before uh the audience of one at the Judgment seat and if we if we’ve squandered our life we hadn’t redeemed the time we’ve been you know Knuckleheads as young guys and then we’re going to have this thing called a
Massive load of regret and uh I I tell the young people in linard Ed to do the opposite of what you know Chandler beinging and Matthew Perry did is take your life seriously I had this I had this billionaire tell me Eric when I was a young squab just got married he said
What are you going to do with your life like I want to preach the gospel I want to spread I want to spread the love of Jesus out there and he said dude don’t take your life so seriously he had a Matthew Perry like death just two years
Ago 3 years ago and I’m glad that I didn’t take frat boy’s advice and I took took my life seriously and I you know albeit uh halting and stammering and sinful but I took my life seriously and rolled it out for the kingdom of God and guess what Eric there’s perks involved
You know I’ve been blessed been crazily blessed by the Lord but I took my life seriously took his word seriously took the gospel seriously and uh you know didn’t pursue vanity cuz I’d already done that man between the ages of 12 and 21 as a drug
Dealer as a as a thief I had I had lots of money because we’re dealing lots of weed lots of cocaine and lots of LSD and when Christ clocked me guess what I decided instead of being a fool and continuing that Glide path is that I
Want to follow God man I want what he wants me to have come on somebody you have to be decisive and you know that statement in that those interviews are not they’re not dream Killers by any stretch of the imagination but they’re they do Focus you
You know and and I just want you to understand as I as I get ready to close first close of 15 no no you know the the Bible is is clear about how we’re not to be shaken but God wants to make sure that no that you’re strong and stable
And strong in the Lord because the adversary will attack it’s just unavoidable you know with words or letters or things you see and and you know you know I once told Pastor Kuna uh when we were early in our messages I said just hold on to the spiritual guard
Rails there was just so much happening in the church outside the church not just the CH I mean just in the church in general over worldwide and I said you know this call is Real Jesus is Lord and we just kept holding on and holding on
Because God is I mean we’ve seen so many wonderful things but the but the attacks are real young people sometimes don’t realize that they and I not because they’re not intelligent or gifted this and the other but it takes a develop M to get there and that’s why discipleship
Is so important it’s it you know what we do here discipleship is not because uh we’re just trying to be de we’re trying to be 100 1,000% Jesus and uh and I think we are or no no church is perfect but we know what his standard is and
That is discipleship where you know you can have somebody speak into your life what Jesus standard especially when you’re a young person and you’re trying to figure out which way is right which way with all the voices and all the letters and all the demonstration from the media that pushes I mean they’re
Trying to impose a Doctrine a way of living upon you and if you hav been woken up to that then you need a wakeup call because they’re after you you know that’s why they’re trying to shake you and that’s what doubt is all about the enemy wants you to be doubtful he wants
You to question Jesus he doesn’t want he wants you to think that Jesus is the one on not just young people but any person is taking something from you excuse me he’s not taking anything from you he’s trying to give everything to you he paid a price so you can have everything that
You couldn’t possibly have on your own strength he came in his strength so that you and I could walk in strength so the Bible says now this yet once more indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken as of things that are made that the things which cannot be
Shaken made remain therefore since we are receiving the kingdom which cannot be shaken let us have Grace by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear that’s Hebrews chapter 12 turn your neighbor say be unshaken be turn your other neighbor say be unshakable be unsh so I want to Simply
Remind you of what the adversary is really after when it comes to and I close with this no time to close I run out of time for closing and um he’s after your confidence he wants your conviction he doesn’t want you young person father mother whomever
You may be in this room online whoever you he wants you not to have conviction for Christ see this is why the Bible says that we Shar this do not therefore fling away your Fearless confidence for it your Fearless confidence carries a great and glorious compensation of reward the
Adversary knows that whether you don’t is not he knows that you be being confident in Christ confident in God’s word confident in depending upon his strength his power the holy spirit is what gives you the kind of life that he’s trying to destroy he the adversary can’t afford you being confident he
Can’t stop you so he’s going to try to deceive you with all kinds of other little things it says and I’m going to jump down because verse 38 because of time and it says but the judge shall live by faith my righteous servant shall live by what his conviction respecting
Man’s relationship to God and in Divine things and by his holy fervor born of faith and conol with it meaning mixed with it combined with it so confidence requires two things what confidence really is is conviction meaning having a conviction you’re already settled that you know Christ is your
Savior you’re not going to compromise or we all make mistakes we all sometimes fall and skin our spiritual kneecaps so to speak but even there I have a conviction about God’s forgiveness Bible says if I confess my sins he is faithful and just to forgive me of all my sins and cleanse
Me of all unrighteousness I don’t have to wallow in shame and wallow in guilt and wallow in condemnation and wallow in accusation my God through his blood and his mercy and Grace forgives a genuine repentant person amen can you someone say amen amen and so this is why you
Walk by faith not just cuz you’re always on the Mountaintop because you’ll need it when you skin your spiritual kneecaps and you do something maybe you caught you off guard I don’t know what it is it doesn’t make but see that’s why faith is not just a a cute little phrase a nice
Little message it comes with a conviction do you have that do you have the conviction in this world that’s trying to take it from you but see because when you have when you walk uh by faith this conviction comes upon you I have a you settle it you’re sing
Single minded you’re Resolute you’re Relentless in your Pursuit Christ is my savior but it also says it comes with a holy fervor born of Faith see this is why the enemy doesn’t want you to live by faith because there’s a fire that will ignite on the inside of you there’s
A a fire that no man can give you there’s a passion for living life that no person can give you no set of circumstances could ever give to you you know it comes by living by faith when you choose to say I’m going to have faith in God’s word even though it’s not
Always comfortable there’s a conviction that you’re declaring but with that the Holy Spirit begins to stir a holy fire that’s what I call being righteously lit up for Jesus come on somebody and it’s important that you and I understand it it’s an intensity there’s this passion
That you know you where did I get this I guarantee you your University didn’t give it to you I guarantee your high school is didn’t given to you it’s not given through flesh and blood it’s given by the Holy Ghost and when you live by faith see that’s what he wants to shaken
You he wants to shake he wants you to loosen your grip with Jesus and complain about Jesus and God is saying come on have faith in me and there’s there’s this conviction that’s going to grow in you and a fire to live life you become Unstoppable you look at the mountain
