Vlogmas day 12

Hey welcome back to vlogmas it is December the 12th so I’m opening my 12th Day Advent I am almost finished with that hat that I showed y’all the other day I am doing the decreases I love this decrease it makes like this pretty little Edge this will be done

Tonight and then I had to figure out something else to work on at work tomorrow I will probably make a cowl or some Ms or something that go with this um if I decide to do a scarf I have this teeny tiny knitting machine somewhere it could

Be in the closet I decided to come upstairs to the yarn room to do uh the video tonight after watching last night’s video I looked a hot mess sitting in the corner of the couch all sloppy um so I was like okay not going to be

Sloppy tonight I will set in front of my yarn cabinet um in the floor no less uh this is a stack of random yarn that um is all in little bags and organized and I know what’s in it and I love it all it’s like that is all my I’m sure I’m

Going to pronounce it wrong sanguan Griffin yarn I have those two little containers of it it’s my favorite yarn it’s really believe it or not that was the very first expensive yarn that I bought we um and I like the word um sorry people we were on vacation to St

Louis and the loopy U was still in St Louis if that gives you a time frame of how long ago that was and it was the first big like inperson yarn store I had ever been to so I walked around slow slowly trying to not be too overwhelmed because it it was massive

For for what I had seen like normally I’d seen this little bitty little bitty shop in a strip mall and then I go in and it’s shelves and shelves and shelves of yarn and they have spinning wheels and I had never even seen a spinning wheel in person um so they had spinning

Wheels and they had all this beautiful beautiful yarn and in my head I was like oh my goodness all of this is so expensive because we were on vacation already um so went through and I picked out um a skce of sang grind Griffin which I’m sure I’m messing up that name

Uh it was a beautiful like red color it was some type of moth or ladybug but it was like red with greens and yellows very Folly and I made this absolutely gorgeous just it was called like dragon scale Shaw it is no longer up on rivalry

I went up to ra I went to rivalry to see if I could find it because I did make a page on it I had found rivalry and that’s how I found the lopy U and um that pattern’s gone so I can’t even um I

Made it I put beads on it no less and I it ended up being my mother’s Christmas present that year I um I do not know where that sha is uh she did wear it a few times she’s passed um in her drawer or in a cabinet or something somewhere maybe

Um so but I don’t know but it was a gorgeous Shaw it still is I’m sure wherever it is um but yeah it was it was a beautiful Shaw and but this hat um my little sister now knits too so so it’s great to to be able to pass

That on my daughter does not want to knit um at all so I tell my husband um if I ever die if I die before him do not sell the yarn for what I told him I paid for it basically he needs to really look

It up and find out how much I actually paid for it I did order some yarn while um somebody was having a sale and so I ordered some of this lovely um pixie dust yarn this one is in the color fairy pink this is I’m trying to find the specs on

It it’s a medium four weight yarn 251 yard 230 M 3.5 oz 100 G I will tell you I have some of this in yellow and that this skade used to be huge and now it’s this so if you I haven’t bought this in a while I bought some for my daughter um

To make something out of and I never did but I’m going to use this for Amma gromy um this is all the specs are the same this is toffee this is Seafoam just cuz I love this color I love that color I think every time I buy it by yarn I’m that I’m

Buying a new type I buy a seafoam this is just black this is Blue Bell uh this is royal blue and that’s all I got I ordered more like there should be a baby blue there should be a few more so just know they like ripped

It open and only shipped part of it so I’ll be checking to see what I haven’t gotten and when it will will be here I wanted to make a Bluey um there’s a pattern by Alyssa G I was going to make my daughter a Bluey and then this is the brown that’s

Going to be the Hat on that thing from Hello Kitty it looks like a Little Acorn hat I have the pale yellow I’m looking to see if I have a pill yellow right here close to me and I do not it must be over there or in the closet

Um I have yarn all around me my room is such a mess and I say it’s such a mess but not really it’s really just like right here that it’s a mess so because when I started crocheting maybe four or five months ago I went through the stash that I already had and

Was like okay these are them the these are the Yarns that I have that could be used to make cute little stuffed animals so I pulled all of that out of my closet um and so there is a big tub here with all my solid color acrylic

Yarn which I didn’t have very much of at all and I bought some blanket yarn and some velvet yarn um and I will tell you I’ve bought a few of these wubbles kits so I bought the gingerbread man I bought a Woodstock an e.l. and a Santa

Claus uh when they were having their sale with the mystery hook there’s a hook in there somewhere and so I’ve only made one wubbles pattern and I made Frankenstein so uh it turned out really well it annoyed me slightly because it doesn’t start at the beginning it starts like a

Round in or two rounds in so it took me a minute to realize okay this is where I start in the pattern because I was I had knowed but I will tell you that yarn does not split it is easy to manage I don’t know what type of yarn it is but

It is lovely if you’re a new crocheter I highly recommend it I am working on a baby blanket for a coworker so they just had a little girl they waited till a month before the baby was due to tell people they were pregnant which that’s their choice not

Mine but if you expect a knitted baby blanket you got to give me some time uh to get it done so then their baby was born early Healthy Mama he healthy baby healthy dad all of it so um I started knitting this for them and we went on

Vacation I took it with me and then then we got covid so I had to not touch it cuz I didn’t want to run the risk of making anybody sick so it’s been sitting there for like 3 weeks now maybe four weeks without me touching it uh making sure

Until just now this the first time I touched it so let’s go ahead and open our advents I did not bring up the Ruby and Rose to see what the name of this colorway was oh isn’t that lovely nice and bright and lovely I just love that

One and I have all of I have bags over here that I’m putting my Advent in when after I open them just to try to keep them separated so I ordered new number tags from um Amazon so I showed you that well maybe I didn’t show you but I’ll look

And see I’ll show you this time ooh we got a suite and this one is Los raos mongos Spain and I probably Mis pronounce mispronounce that in Spain Los Reas mongos wise men bring the children gifts rather than Santa Claus gifts are brought at Epiphany January the 6th by the three kings that

Visited Jesus with gifts of gold frankincense and M according to Christian tradition their names are melor Casper and basar children often leave out their shoes for the Kings to put their gifts in and leave them Sweet Treats so in case you want to see how bad I butchered that name

This is a beautiful color you can really see that little Sparkle and believe it or not that one’s bag is right here and then this is my gidy yarn and it is a fade oh that’s lovely I love that color it is called this flowers force in stirring love so in case you don’t know I do not

Edit these videos I just basically film them and go so this will go over there with the rest of the gy Yarns there in a little box right there I will put this in here for me to eat um I’m trying trying to think if there’s anything else oh I need to stand

Up one second um and see if I can get one of those tags let’s see we’ll just maybe we can manage to go up together because I am wearing jogging pants I came home from work um took off the blue jeans and put on oh nope it’s down here with me put on

Some jogg pants so I can be comfortable so this Is the type of tag I buy from Amazon it’s plastic it’s one-sided it goes from 1 to 50 and um I take one of these little light bulb Stitch markers which I did not buy mine in the knitting section I went um over to like the fabric section

So in the knitting section there’s like I don’t know 10 20 of them in a little pack for I believe it was like $2.99 or 3.99 if you went back to the um I believe it was either in sewing or jewelry making there was a whole bunch

More and they were having uh I was at Hobby Lobby and it was like 40 or 50% off um for that brand it was like bead the and so that’s where I got the light bulb tags I did order some new ones the ones I ordered new are actually metal and the

Number is cut out of them because I need three more obviously because I have not finished knitting with my two advents from last year so I have started my G A Yarn Advent last year hers was based on Willie Wonka lovely yarn I’m making I think it’s called snow drop drop the

Other one I got was the dinosaur one which was a collaboration between Fang girl fibers and hold on if I can find the I can tell you the name of the other designer yarn yarosurafu So Um I have not started that I’ve seen it but I haven’t seen it made with their Advent so that’s one of the things that I’m just like do I want to make that or do I want to make something else I I say I don’t have very many minis but I

Really I’m looking I have two little shelves um on a small little cabinet across the room of Min some of them are um five GRS like I have some right here I think that are like this these are T Tina tiny I bought these off of rivalry from someone’s

Stash they did some sort of swap with somebody um these These are both gome acres and so I was like okay I’m going to I bought them out of somebody’s stash and I’m like okay what am I going to do with them and then I was like I’m going to make a Battenburg

So this is not that yarn this is giddy Yarns this is The Leftovers I’d already finished the stripe on my it’s like snow drift um by curious handmaids it was from last year or the year before nitus um and so that is the teeny tiny little

Square that I made I’m not even sure that it’s right CU I just started crocheting but I was like I’m going to take all these in there and jars on top of that other yarn cabinet and uh make little squares out of them but I decided instead of doing

These right then was as I finished up the color on that other project with I’m pointing like you can see the project bag over there and you can’t and um so I just started making those I was on a plane when I when I finished that row and I did not want to

Pull out and start the other one so that is the reason why it’s there but these are great like I’ve seen people uh finish knitting stories and little drops of wonderful they got Homestead house Advent it’s a fade and they’ve been writing on them writing on the label of

Each one to put them in order but like these three advents none of them have labels on them so this is the easiest thing to do without me having to make something up you could also make Stitch markers with uh you could just buy the little number beads I have some number

Beads around here because I go to a yarn retreat in February and one of the ladies there said she was going to uh teach us how to make Rog counting bracelets so to have my stuff to be able to do that I just bought a whole uh package from Amazon so

I’ll take mine with me and we I whatever is more than what I need will be given to the other people who are there cuz that’s what we do we share we’re we’re friends we have been going to it for years we spend the weekend together spinning knitting crocheting we have a

Fashion show um it’s amazing it makes me so happy to be around those people a lot of them I’ve known I’ve known since college and didn’t even realize it so and I know that sounds weird but it it happens I went to a larger college and I was in a co-ed service

Fraternity um and I know that sounds weird girls are in sororities not fraternities well this is a coed Service uh fraternities so it’s boys and girls that are in it how Progressive were we and we do service and what that means is we will go out and do charity work we

Will go and pick up people’s yards we would we did not go out and get drunk and party all night we actually did good things to help the community we were in so my husband is probably wondering why this is taking so long because I said oh

It’s only going to take a few minutes and so I’m going to go and eat dinner uh with my lovely family hopefully this weekend I get a chance to dye some yarn so that I can start on that uh one one project that I want to do with my green

Lampkin and if not then I might I have some solid colors I think up there from giddy Yarns I have like a teal and a green and a purple I might look to see if I want to do just one of them um I have a black one up here from Muse

2320 that was the black flame candle from last year’s Hocus Pocus so but I really don’t want black I was really hoping for like a dark gray like this one but um and I do like that that brownie gray too but I want it to Sparkle but that does have a lovely

Sheen to it I do absolutely love my yarn and there is um and I am trying to be more mindful of what I purchase and what I use because if you’re not careful um you can get like moths or something in your yarn and I try very hard not to get

Um anything like that like there is little bags in here you can’t see that have like moth repellent I have some heavily scented candles in there too and in all my yarn cabinets and then setting around the room and I even have fabric drawers with yarn in them cuz

Um but but I do have like little smell good things in each one of them so I am trying to use some of my stash but I have added to it some because of the crochet um because I didn’t feel like I I just didn’t have any solid colors as

You can see from behind me this was my knitting stash it still is my knitting stash even there not very many solid colors I really tend to stick with variegated or self striping so but hey so I will um I will end this and today
