Him to the par of West Mand and that we appreciate his presence here today kindly give him stand and give him a round of applause we want him to feel welcome thank you so much God bless you at this time Pastor Jackson will come forward thank you very much Pastor
Lock all of us here should be aware how my uncle was not just an uncle but was like a father there are are three persons in this life after the death of my father that took charge of my life so I could be what I am today before I met my wife and
Children but I won’t speak of the other two although they are significantly important but the person that is important right now is Simeon Alexander Charlie Babcock and I know that many of you are wondering why was he called CB did anybody know that well let me tell you the story as I give
The his father Ernest Jackson you know he liked to drink and Simeon was born and they asked him his name and I don’t know if it was my grandfather who named him Simeon but at that time it seemed as if Simeon was a bit difficult for him to call Alexander so Charlie Babcock
Was very easy for him to call and he said that his name is Charlie Babar and that’s it a lot of you do not know you just know know him as CB CB CB and that’s the name that’s the reason now Simon grew up in friendship
He was born in Friendship grew up in Friendship schooled in friendship and and I’m just going to stick up in here because what I’m going to say about him is just a little tip of the iceberg and I want to to dit to that right now because we just don’t have enough time
In which to speak about him now Simeon went to school friendship primary strawberry all age Peter swel secondary and then he went to live with my father um Leon Liber ja who’s deceased um in mandville um at West indis College now northern Caribbean University so for those of you who
Remembered the shortlived life of my father there at West indis College so he then left for Kingston to live with Norman Jackson who is deceased now Simeon lived with Norman in 19 R about in the 1980 81 um at travan towers and trevan masses are here he
Lived there for over 40 years he lived there until the time of his death but when Simeon went to Kingston he went on to do accounting um um Glenn Heaven here uh is a testimony to that he went on to do accounting and there he met Coral
Simpson the love of his life they got married in 1999 by his Excellency so it’s special he probably didn’t remember that but yes you did it um with me standing right beside you in 1999 now Simeon then worked with poia tobacco company for a number of years until the company was
Closed now most of you know that he’s a lover of cricket he love cricket and they two teams that are dear to his heart Lucas and Dumar he Simeon was literally an architect of every subject matter you can never find and the children will tell you we can’t
Debate him because he he he was just I wonder how he didn’t have his PhD um as far as education is concerned he proba probably thought about family more than education but he was a brilliant he was very bright he was very warm and very kind and he would open up 16 no
69 and 70 um shenan Towers his home to anybody from friendship or anybody he he knew but significantly from Friendship who would be going going to Kingston to do any business you’ll have Fitzroy cber which my cousin would take them and there they would rest their heads very
Kind and I I I can’t express enough how kind a person he was he adored his children I can’t tell you and sometime he said I am I’m the first one s he he he he thought that we were four years apart but he still adore me as a child too but more
So his biological children I cannot express more thanks to him because in 1984 after I left elim aricultural college and um I was about to go back to Friendship I went to see a friend of mine in um Fabian Francis in in in buff Bay
Portland and on my way back he gave me the direction of how to come to trinion I had my little attach a case with some few little bits of clothes and he told me where I should stop and when I got there he said to me you you are not
Going back to West Mand and here I am today he and I we grew up as if we were brothers and he has contributed significantly to my life now Simeon was a hard worker he was selfless and always looking out for others and was well educated simeon’s mom
Grandma Lilian grew him up to love the Lord and he was baptized at the Friendship 7th Adventist Church and although later in life he was not a regular attending Christian going to church you would never knew as he would have regular devotion worship time with his children text that comes to mind train
Up a child in the way they should grow so that when they are old they will never depart from it around 20 years ago coral and children migrated to the land of Carl’s birth United Kingdom and we Carl join us there and Simeon would go for every six months
To spend time with his family but I’m not sure if we could ever get him to live there permanently but he once he gets there he happy and when he come back to Jamaica he’s ever ever so happy now in September um Simeon became ill and after
A short illness he passed away on November 17th and as a family we would want to thank all the healthcare personnels who cared for him children his beloved wife Caroll and other family members and friends I say may his soul rest in peace and light Perpetual shine upon Him amen good
Um I’m here to do a tribute on behalf of the Jamaica cricket Association but permit me a few minutes to just Express sincere condolences to the Jackson family we we all grew up in friendship and you’ll see those of you who go to the burial you’ll see friendship
Um the truth be told you don’t pass there to go to a lot of other places um but it is one of those special places we we grew up together his father we were members of the Brotherhood singing group um Simeon was in the play with me the prodigal
Son and that time we were very regular members of this Faith so on behalf of the heavens family sincere condolences to the Jacksons on behalf of the Jamaica cricket Association I pay tribute to a very prominent stakeholder and friend of Jamaica’s Cricket the late Simeon Jackson he was never known to us
As Jacko his father was Jackie and another friend was Jacko Simeon was CB albe it we didn’t know how he got the acronym CB but now you know and before I go further I’m going to ask all the members of the cricket fraternity to just stand those on the inside we know we
Have a lot on the outside to just stand and be recognized the members of the Jamaica cricket Association and a lot upstairs a lot downstairs who join us today we have the president of Lucas we have the wife of the president of dtar we have the Secretary of weep and others who are
Here today I express deep and profound sadness at his passing let me convey sincere condolences on behalf of the JC this time to his family we pray that you will find Comfort at this time to cope with your tremendous loss this is a sad day for the cricket
Fraternity the jca Mourns the passing of a colleague who serve the game of cricket with pride and purpose and one who performed creditably at different levels in different capacities CB started becoming known in the cricket circles in the mid 80s as he participated in the then Campari and Royo competitions and then
Later on he moved on to become a member of Dumar Cricket Club he then began an association with Lucas Cricket Club sometime around 2016 becoming the manager of the senior cricket team at Lucas Simeon attained certification in coaching in England and he returned to Jamaica just this year with the intention of coaching
Lucas’s junior team and to have camps it was his dream to restart the Lucas Academy that was so successful under coach Dennis Miller he was an association member of the Jamaica cricket Association and served as member of the cricket development committee under my watch and that was 2019 to
2021 he managed one of the teams in the T10 competition the dream 11 T10 competition in 2022 and 2023 in in the inaugural year of 2022 he his team came second and just last year believe it or not his team came first so he was a good manager he
Was a good cricketer at his level so he served Jamaica cricket well and he served it with distinction so it is only natural for the cricket fraternity to morning’s passing but in doing so we take comfort in the fact that his life will inspire generations to come he leaves a legacy
That will continue to impact the lives of not only those he served but of those to come he cared for the Youth undoubtedly and was always encouraging them to play cricket to play it hard but also to play it fair and with pride therefore not withstanding his passing at a
Relatively young age let us give God thanks for the many blessings he bestows through his life of service to the game of cricket and As We Gather today to pay our last respect let us stay comfort in the fact that CB had made a sterling contribution to the development of cricket in
Jamaica he understood the obligation of Duty and the influence of example he understood the power of kindness and the worth of character not withstanding it is human to mourn the passing of our colleague as CBI is no longer a part of our lives however while the comfort of
Having a friend May indeed be lost the comfort of having had that friend will never be lost he leaves a legacy that will continue to impact the lives of many to come so today my friend we try to match and reconcile the grief of losing him with the joy of having him we
All come to ponder the life and death of a true servant of the game to pay our last respects and be us sad but F Fe well though his Innings have come to an end it is not without glorious and distinguished boundaries and life lessons that we can apply to the
Development and advancement of cricket in Jamaica the vanguards of cricket will always wear their raise their bats to a great contributor of the game today we celebrate his life as his Innings come comes to a close may his soul rest in peace and life eternal shine upon him thank you very much good

Someday where life never end thank you for those who will be sharing we just want to remind you you have just three minutes to share good afternoon Church all protocols observed I am here to pay tribute to Simeon jao Jackson on behalf of Lucas Cricket Club but allow me a brief moment
To pay tribute to Jacko my friend I got to know Jacko uh in 2017 as my son then was a part of the junior the development program at Lucas and I am not sure what ja would have heard or what he knew about me but he was convinced that I was the
Person to lead Lucas and not only just to lead but to return Lucas to its Glory Days I trusted his judgment because he simply would not have it any other way and if you know Jacko well when Jacko wants something he’s going to get it and I’m a product of
That um so Jacko was my personal friend apart from being the club captain and manager of the senior team at Lucas I remember and will treasure all of those moments and time spent with Jacko um guiding me as it relates to Cricket the ins and outs the politics everything
And he was there he considered himself a protector right I would be happy to take his advice and to be guided now he’s gone what am I going to do I just simply have to find a way to move on in his memory jao is a person as was said by his
Cousin who did doogy you’ll have to allow him to win every argument so Jacko I’m going to remember all of those argument that you won genuinely and those that I allow you to win because you simple would not have it any other way oh Jacko as the club captain and manager for Lucas
CC Jacko was just not an Ordinary Servant to Lucas Jaa service was extra ordinary I must say he was not just the conate goby manager he sometime I don’t know how we he found the time and the energy to put so much into Cricket mainly Lucas um I remember the club was locked
Down like every other sports and every other supporting venue during the time of the pandemic and when it was time and we got a little green light that we could open back somewhat Jacko was the first man on board trying to pull everybody to say
Lucas have to be have to be amongst the first Club to open reopen and start playing back cricket and he would make all the contacts with Ministry of Health get all the protocols up to date get the charts he would personally come and place them go in search of the health
Officer to come and inspect the facility right he would personally do that because he was adamant that Lucas was not going to be left behind because it had too much young talents and Lucas would have to be up there in playing Cricket um by then the
Field would have your in the rural year I think you call it would have become a woodland and Draco was instrumental in organizing grounds men and external help in making sure that the field we could have could would be restored back to plain condition right so he was not an ordinary person right
Jao heart and desire was to serve mainly the youths of Lucas I remember um sometime earlier this year uh quite a bit I probably it was about four or five of our young players um we selected for National duties and jao called me up and said
Pres I don’t know where we going we’re going to find the money you know but we have to do something for them we have to make do something special we have to organize some training shoes for them and all of that jao found out what their
Needs were and he mandated me to find the money cuz some had to be done for them different and he didn’t leave it there alone he personally would pick them up took them up to u to do their medical in his own vehicle he would take them to the different stores to fit
Their shoes if the size or the type wasn’t there he would take them to another store and he just went on and went on until everybody was fully satisfied and we sent off our player with the Luca Pride that was Jacko right so Jacko you are irreplaceable but we going to have to
Move on your service was human I will read a tribute from the captain of the Lucas cricket team Nicholas Leen and it reads on behalf of the Lucas cricket team we want the family to accept our deepest condolences manage Jackson or as most may know him as Jacko was not only just
A wonderful person and a great manager but he was also great with interacting with us as individuals he gave us as cricketers a peace of mind and confidence to go out there and the field and play to the best of our abilities we all as players felt comfortable to
Talk to him away from the cricket field he was just that type of understanding person but yet despite the lency and kindness he took the outcome of our games extremely serious he was a noons manager he always had the best interest of Lucas Cricket Club and of course those who represented
From the president of the board to the various Quorum that Alone says a lot about the level of respect he has for his pairs there goes there goes of saying that goes the life given to us by nature is short but the memory of life well spent is
Eternal but we want to say this is no goodbye it is a thank you for coming into our lives and giving us Eternal memories of Joy success and defeat you will be missed by everyone and all prayers goes out to all the family Nicholas lein Captain Lucas cc to
The family I say take comfort that Jacko would have left he would have lived a life doing what he loved and he would have left a legacy to you for you all to be proud of thank you while the next representative is coming we just want to take the opport
Opportunity to welcome the Member of Parliament for Central West Mand Mr George wri thank you for being here in God’s five acre Simeon sleep in that peace that this world cannot give nor take away good morning church are it good afternoon my name is Vincent Miller vice president of
The well known dtar sports club and I speak on behalf of our president Mr oen Le who is unavoidably absent I wish note on behalf of the club to extend sincere condolences to Simon’s simeon’s wife Carol his children family and extended family as they mourn the loss of a loved
One Simeon Jackson is known to all his friends in the field of sports as jao who became a member of the 47y old dtar Sports Club as a bowling allrounder cricketer 18 years ago his tenure with the club has brought success in all eras of cricket and dominoes he served in many
Capacity and wore many caps at the club sometimes in unison he was at sometimes member of our outreach program fundraising Committee Member Domino Captain cricket captain Club Captain Cricket manager chairman of selector up to the time of his death and he managed these responsibilities with Clarity and as chairman of selector for
The club jacko’s team was selected based on Merit unlike some select at the higher level of cricket in the West Indies I must say there are some of our members here who would want to agree but they are under the 10 so I don’t see them here now Jacko because of his enormous
Knowledge of the game of cricket he was invited and served successfully on many Cricket competition boards the Campari cup the ranking cup the Evin cup the Royal Cup jao loved and played Cricket but he would never participate in any game without the rules of the game being
Agreed on by all participants at all times Jacko would remind players that they must extend coures to four very important personel at cricket matches because they are the ones who can make or break you quite rightly so there are the two umpires and the two scorers
Draco Alo he found time so much time actually for Cricket he spoke passionately about his family his wife and children and at the club we don’t know how we are going to replace him because it may take about five or six person to replace Jack at any time and so in
Recognition of Simon Simon’s positive impact on the club please observe to my right resting on an easel is a large photo of Jacko artistically designed crafted and framed with all the signatures of his club members are fixed is right there to include the signatures of our founding president Mr Keith Williams
Past president Alfred bahador they are overseas on travel but have sent in their regrets the photo will be presented to the Jackson family for their keeps in memory of our beloved Club Captain I must say the thought and of the photo was executed by our hardworking executive member Dennis
Singh and you can’t miss him because he is the Indian gentleman somewhere around the place with a full head of hair as you might realize most of us are carrying head without hairs with us from the club I see I’m cutting it very short because there’s a lot more to
Say with us from our club joining us in celebration of simeon’s life is Mrs Andrea Leen wife of our president past president Roy Jones immediate past president o BOS honorable secretary Desmond Thomas Treasurer Douglas Forbes Cricket Captain deloy Morgan his Deputy H Meredith members of the executive O’Reilly Henry
Robert Brown Al also in attendance we have a large contingent of cricketers and if I should call their names probably where would want me not to stay up here because Jack actually had re-registered them and some of names which you know I don’t think the threat
Would want me to call those Nam but they are here with us and in closing the warmth in greetings from Jacko the magnetic smile the hilarious laughter from a gentleman and I don’t use the word Loosely When I Say gentleman he was a gentleman will be missed greatly missed
And remembered with fondness by all of us may his memory be a blessing rest in peace jao Heaven awaits you thank you good afternoon ladies and gentlemen good afternoon boys and girls I want to first thank you all to attend B dad’s funeral especially for those of you who CH from
Afar uh my name is Andrew Jackson onor Jack of twin boys um I want to first start off by saying he lives within what do I mean by that um some of that DNA is inside me so as I stand before you today you see some characteristics from my dad show me um
Yeah um I would like to share I feel blessed and honored to spent the last 6 and a half months out of the last 11 months my dad was on this Earth as you know my dad spent six months in England and six months in Jamaica where he
Shares with other siblings and I want to show a particular moment my dad while he was in England um I was working from home one day and um he came sat next to me and said I’m going to going to ask you something and I want to tell me what
You think so after he said what you have to say I said I wouldn’t do it that way I would do it this way there was no respon from my dad that was a sign that was a sign that he acknowledged what I said um and I say that to say this even
Though a lot of people tend to come to my dad for advice and he has knowledge in almost every department on that day he was humble enough to take advice on board he lives Within hello everyone um I’m Andre Jackson one of the twins well one
Um uh thank you for everyone coming out to join us to celebrate the life of uh my dad our dad uh CB brownman Jacko the great man as Del would say um from back at home in the UK uh all the chrisan fraternity who knew him or who heard
Story that I would tell them about him uh the send condolences uh the ace family uh s African carab engagement uh the ycb yor Cricket Board ycf yorck foundation and also Caribbean Sports Club in Sheffield um where should I start right okay um to he was a loving father father um he’s a
Firm belief in us being close together as a family and he was hard working was determined these were some of the attributes he had in selling us um he’s a man of principle always willing to give and help and hand when call upon um quick reflection of um when I was younger
Growing up we used to come to the countryside every Christmas normally stoping first and we normally go to West the next day so sometimes he W leave us cuz cuz sometimes go early and oh wake up in time so we probably leave so what me and Andrew will do we go pants take
Off him belt time up and TI together so wake up the morning can’t leave and funny enough the same belt we use on time up and beat with it sometimes but but it was worth the beat because coming to West Milan was very fun for us um we
Grew up in Kingston we don’t really see Bush and stuff like that so we love to come to West Milan go sugar cake go out of field with him meet J out the field run down some cow I don’t know everything everything go down the river
As well so yeah we we we enjoyed coming to West Milan and to meeting other family members as well down here um that was good also when we were younger um going to Cricket on his first club that uh as mentioned was Jamaica United and that was one of his um first
Teams uh he used to go to era Circle where they used to train and while we were training I normally take the Pontiac and drive round ER Circle and one day I get to excited and was driving too fast I’m say Andre you know me B if
I’m driving I’m say why I’m say you drive too fast man you drive too fast so I got banned from from driving for a few weeks but eventually um I drove again um also to touch on the level two that I did in England this year um cuz I
Completed my level two the month before and he was bugging me bugging me say yo Andre serious EMA the big man and um see if he’s there any space right next to me in the kitchen email him and the man say it’s full I’m say say all right so no
Can you do me a favor try see if we can get him on and wa the email come in and email come back and him say say heyj I got a space I’ve got a space for him I’m say all right good and just look around
To him and look in his eyes you can see how happy he was he was so excited doing his level two and it’s a different type of lover scene in his compared to um not doing Cricket all the cricketing stuff whether I’m playing or not he was really
Really excited about doing this level two so boom on level two now and he did four four Sundays all day and say for example like the Saturday night the packing bag already for the day I’m so excited for go and he completed his level two and
Um he was in the process of um doing his DBS because he had he had intention to come back to England so help run my program that was I’m doing over there and um him him call me one time cuz he gave me his his papers to bring
Up and I had him my suitcase and I forgot about it and he called me and said Andre you do that say oh no I didn’t do it so I remember quickly I’m I’m get the paper from out of the suitcase and send it our first class
Record delivery cuz we know ring me every day until say delivered I think I did the day and then by a couple of hours in the morning for for him he got an email from from um ECB said that they received his um his documents and so yeah in January coming
I was planning to start my Academy and he was going to be one of the coaches um so such a loss to know that um he’s not going to um do his Lev well you know execute all that he learned in level two to the kids and because they were
Looking forward to it um um but yeah my dad was a say was a good man we enjoy every everything that he T us um but unfortunately his healings came to an end and um we’re going to try and cherish his name as much as possible I
Know the guys mentioned Lucas a lot um T and Andrew were thinking to um to do some summer camps because I know one of the summer camps they had years ago that we went to that’s the reason why weet today because of that camp so doing sometime next year between us we’re
Going to come down and do a two weeks Camp um at the club and just to get them youngsters back into cricket and stuff um but we speak to speak to Lucas about that we get organized and that’s it thank you um ladies and gentlemen good afternoon um if you were following
Closely in your program you would notice that there that an item was skipped so we are going to go back to that item and then we continue the program so I’m going to invite Simeon Jor and Chantel to come with reflection after that we will have the bath
Musical ensembles and the collection of the offering so Simeon good afternoon everyone sorry this has taken so long um I’m Simeon Jr CB’s first son uh I would first like to thank the governor general for being here I remember seeing you as a young boy and I’m delighted to see you here
Today um we’ve seen a few funerals in the family I remember my grandfather’s funeral it was very packed up at the church there in Friendship um I remember my uncle’s funeral where about six pass at him and funeral there’s only three here today but they didn’t get the governor
General so Daddy you Trump them on that one um my father so many tit and labels I’ve heard this morning and the one that was missing was counselor a lot of people in here you know what I’m talking about because his owned up on the phone with him at night
Time and my mother couldn’t sleep because he would be counseling everybody us included as kids um my first experience with my dad I grew up in Canada and I remember he came out to watch me play a game and he was on the side with Uncle Norman they were the coaches he was
Coaching and I remember I had a cracking game I thought scored a couple of goals and I remember afterwards he was trying to give me some information about what I did wrong and in my head I said but Daddy you play cricket what you know about football and that started the
Relationship with my dad D where another term that’s been missing which I respect everyone for trying to do it in a politically correct way him stubborn stubborn stubborn stubborn stubborn and those are one of the traits I picked up as well so you can imagine our relationship where he might try to coach
Me and guide me as his first son but I’m rejecting everything he says and it wasn’t until maybe a couple years ago um he was in England and I see a ball in there a playe football with the kids and stuff AJ was there kids were there and I saw a
Ball go in the air and Daddy’s under it and the man the want control you see first touch and I thought oh okay so that’s where I got it from and since then as you grow older in life and experiences I started started to realize that my dad always had the
Right answer for me and I look back and I wish I had listened to him more and now I’m doing some coaching and mentoring and the first thing I say to the kids I coach just listen to your dad he had a mantra that he always used and it was be
Simple live a simple life that was permeated in everything that he did and everything that he gave to us I’ll be keeping that and I know all of us will he’s given us lessons and guidance that can last lifetimes so I’m conf confident that we’ll be able to take on this challenge without
Him I want to share a little bit of a journey um a story when I was a kid I remember being in the van and daddy used to sell cigars and and and bread and stuff and I used to go on rides with him to Country in the back of the van the
Van space out free and all of the food is back there so we go back there know and eating bread and bua and banana and for forunate for him when he got to Country he was low on stock um and I just want everyone to know that
For the amount of people that I’ve we’ve met since coming down here and coming to Country the impact he’s had has just blown us away um a guy came up to me and said to me uh condolences to you and the family I know you’ve lost your father but now so have
I and that really stuck with me um and the impact he’s had daddy we wanted the 100 but we’re happy for the 60 plus thank you may I invite the ushers and deacons to take your positions for the collection of the offering and we ask you to Bow your
Heads as we ask God’s blessing Heavenly Father we want to thank you for life we thank you for health we thank you for strength we thank you for the blessings with which you have blessed us and as we return a portion for your cause we ask that you
Willess bless it in jesus’ name we pray while the offering is being collected we are going to have the musical tribute from B that’s for For La [Applause] Ah Aah [Applause] [Applause] a A A Ah [Applause] I believe when you hear good music you should appreciate it come on church do you see any sign said Don’t Clap or don’t say praise the lord we are here to praise God now we will have a poem by Jackie blanch and after that we will have a tribute from the
Trinian towers and that’s the area that CB lived in up to his passing please don’t bring me flowers When I’m Gone the passing of a loved one brings on a great sense of loss and in some cases Great Depression no matter how anticipated the circumstances might be as in the case of
Simeon Jackson no one is quite prepared for the reality of death my philosophy of death is that of a long journey through life sometimes Rocky Roads from the physical to the spiritual one’s quality of life rather than its longevity is a substance that will live long after the body had been
Laid to rest I have no doubt that simeon’s passing through this part of his journey has left a mark in a positive manner so today we are gathered here to mourn our loss and to pay our last respect to my cousin my dear friend CB Mr Jackson has no more problem
He’s all right now he’s free there is nothing we can do for him anymore the question is and I put it to all of you present here today what are we doing for our loved ones that’s alive today are we being kind are we showing love and affection to the ones we
Cherish the most the ones we hold there to us are we saying I love you you to mom and dad sister or brother are we saying thank you to our children thank you to our relatives and friends who have helped us but in one way or another
Life can be short sometimes my friend and I challenge you as you leave here today make peace with your loved ones make a commitment to your loved ones let’s bring home the flowers while we still have a chance to show our love and appreciation let the sweet smell of
Roses and lilac fill the air now for tomorrow tomorrow might be too late see you TB in the Sweet By and By good afternoon everyone a tribute from the troenan community just a little backstory Mr Jackson served as a Committee Member up to the time of his
Passing um he served with a few of us the committee members are here as well as other members of the community of the Trev community at large if you’d like to be to stand on be recognized we also want to send apologies for our chairman Mr IA Barrett
Denise sorry um Latoya Gordon Latoya Craig and Mr g m who are unavoidably absent today today we pause for reflection in celebration of the life of our dear friend and colleague Simeon Alexander Jackson Who sadly left us after a short illness as a team player and property
Manager for BL B Simeon was filled with the drive and energy in volunteering his service towards the overall benefit of the Travon Towers community at his place of aboard for approximately 40 years Simeon developed a longlasting relationship with friends and neighbors of travan towers some of whom are now like family and his
Immediate family can attest to that he possessed an indominable spirit and a passion for getting things done effectively and efficiently to the overall benefit of the residents within the complex indeed during the early part of his illness he was on the phone giving instructions and providing expert
Advice in the handling of complex issues needing to be addressed in a timely man manner to ensure the smooth running in the general operations of the complex I can attest to that because as a Treasurer had to be on the phone with him handling matters that needed to be
Addressed in the complex but despite being ill he decided he must press on this shows the measure of the man who despite the odds never gave in and remained positive and stead fast to the end on behalf of the entire travan Towers Community we wish to again express our heartfelt and sincere
Condolences to simeon’s family and rest assured you can rely on us for continued support during this period and beyond our thoughts and prayers are always with you all well done thou good and faithful servant sleep on and take your rest ladies and gentlemen we have in our
Midst the pastor for the cot saana District of churches 7th Day Adventist churches and this District of churches include the Friendship 7th Day Adventist Church the church where Simeon was baptized he was a member of the choir and I remember one day one of our members walked in in White full white
And CB went to him and asked him how many runs you make it never turned out well with a gentleman because he came to worship and CB was talking cricket but we are happy to have with us Pastor wetherburn the pastor of the K savan District of churches and I’m going to
Invite him at this time to the podium good afternoon everyone we are every now and again reminded that at the end of the day we are but human despite our attempts to fill all the gaps and to ensure that everything is addressed every now and again
We remember we can only do so much and no more today I whether fortunately or unfortunately have the burden of stopping by four funerals of individuals from and affiliated with the C of a district and to Pastor Jackson’s credit and from the understanding of myself as
The pastor it was a tedious one to accommodate but we’re glad that it’s able to be done and even as I reflect on my own limitations as pastors we seek to minister to all whom we can whenever we can wherever we can but reminded at the
End of the day we are are humans trying to do a superhuman task I bring to your mind therefore the fact that limited though we may be we serve an illimitable God and he is able to Bear us up when human words are insufficient he is able to strengthen us
When humans have exhausted all that they have and so to the family of the late Simeon Jackson on behalf of the friendship SDA church we entrust you into the hands of God we recognize that life is real and so are its challenges and so is God and we remind you that
Jesus in his moment of apparent despair when the cross was before him and he ask if it is possible father let this C be passed from me the Bible says that an angel came from Heaven to strengthen him because in our lives sometimes the challenges that we Face will not be
Removed from us but we are assured that God will see us through those challenges may God bless you as you grieve and remember your loved one and that missing place at the table that Missing Link in the family may be filled by the omnipotent and omnipresence of almighty God God bless
You thank you very much Pastor ladies and gentlemen the time has come for us to hear a word from the Lord and in our early days growing up in Friendship there was a group in that group we had CB we had Richard and I won’t tell you
What Richard um pet name is he might want to tell you when he get up and uh SEI and Bernard and religiously in the afternoon after meals we would jump on our bicycle and uh for those who know the area we would ride from Friendship to Grange to
Williamsfield to Fort William and back to Friendship we would get back close to midnight that was the group and the activities and uh uh we grew up as a closely knitted group of friends SEI died CB No right and uh another member of the group CB has gone we cook and eat out of the same part we played Cory goat Cricket but ironically there was no curry goat there was dumpling and chicken back if you know what I’m talking about so CB love for Cricket developed from he was
Here at friendship and we were playing Cory go Cricket we never had a cricket pitch so we played it on the government Road and uh God would have blessed us with a long drive to our house and we played it in the drivein but we had wonderful days
Together and out of the group comes our preacher for this afternoon this afternoon we have Pastor Richard Jackson now Pastor Jackson served the seventh day Adventist Church as conference president as a district pastor and currently he’s serving the ano Conference of 7th Day Adventists in Canada as Pastor for some of their
Churches we’re happy to have him with us and I pray that this afternoon you will help me to pray that God will use him to De deliver the message for the time the message for the situation a message that will bring hope to all of us but before Pastor jackon
Comes we’re going to invite revived to do the song of meditation good afternoon everyone this song I’m about to do was specially Requested While the world looks upon me as I struggle alone they say I have nothing but they are so wrong in my heart I am rejoicing how I wish they could see so I thank you Lord for your blessings on me there’s a roof up above me and a good place to

New I don’t have much money but Lord I have you and to me that’s all the matters though the world may not see so I thank you Lord for your blessings on Me there’s a roof up above me and a good place to sleep there’s food on my table and shoes on my feet you gave me you love Lord and a f family so I thank you Lord for your blessings on me thank thank you Lord for your blessings on
Me Let the church say Amen again I want to express thanks to all those who have participated thus far and just one quick note to say the this church has been tremendous Us in allowing us to have this Funeral Service here and I want to say thanks to the
Pastor and management of this church let me protocol has been establish time is far spent and the word must be spoken the Bible says ye though I walk and uh it’s uh favorite text of my anger yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of
Death I will feare no evil for you God is what with me your rod and your staff they comfort me uh these words are from what may be the most famous divisions of the Psalms uttered by the lips of almost all Christians throughout their centuries for comfort and courage and what a joy
To know that in a world where the crippling condition of insecurity and anxiety have caused Hearts to fail because of fear God offers himself to us as a prototypical Shepherd uh see with me if you will that the psalm walks us across the flourishing verdant pastures of Serenity
And the soothing Still Waters of security it marches along the path of righteousness where we lavish spiritual blessings then all the way down to the dark Valley of the shadow of death but I love this Psalm because as the psalmist unwraps the Sheep experience it unfolds itself into our
Experience because God is the shepherd and we are his sheep uh I want to say I’m not speaking to Simeon because he is sleeping he can’t hear me I’m speaking to us those of us who are in the hearing of my voice and I want to expose this passage to us
Today I declare today that even in the valley even through tear stained faces we can still exhale Our Praise if we are a child of God if we take him at his word if faith is the victory then the valley this Valley is not a place of depression and
Dejection but rather it is the Valley of the odds you you you may not believe me some of us we know that pain is real we know that death is real we know that Brokenness is real how can I be sure that I’m not subduing my emotions in
Psychological denial how can I know that it is not My Imagination Running Away with me do you want to know y though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death because you say to me Mr preacher there is evil in the valley yes there is the valley is very
Dark and and so surely there are reasons for fair in the valley but a close examination of our text shows that we have more going on for us in the valley than against us in a real sense the odds are stocked in our favor so let me interrogate the text first notice in
The first place the text says yay though I walk in other words we are still on our feet family in the valley so though Simeon is gone we are still here on our feet we are not laid up we are not lame we are not cered or incapacitated we can still
Walk and Walking In this passage here is a synonym of determination so I know we are in the valley but we did there to tell the enemy that we are not going to sit in the valley we are not going to be despondent in the valley we are
Determined as a family that we are going to walk secondly the passage says I walk through in other words our walking in the valley is not aimless we are walking with a purpose I am walking through in other words the valley is not my destination this life is not my only
Hope come here with me Paul he said if in this life only we have hope in Christ we are of all men most miserable and then Jim re went on to say this world is not my home I’m just a passing through so the valley is not my destination
Because like Abraham I am looking for a city which have Foundation whose Builder and maker is God like job I know that my redeemer liveth because I hear Jesus saying let not your hearts be troubled family he believe in God believe all in me Point number three is that the text
Says is the Valley of the shadow of death you see Shadow a shadow is only created when there is light so we have some light in the valley but watch this you see shadow of death a shadow generally takes the shape of the real thing but it is not the real
Thing you know hear me today in other words if I stand in the path of the sun it will cause a shadow to be cast The Shadow will take my form or shape but it is not me in the same way when we are are in
The valley what we see is an attempt by death to stand in the way of your light so what you see is the shadow of death for in reality even if death strikes a child of God that is still a shadow for the real death is not the first death
The real death is the second death uh uh uh come with me Paul behold I show you a mystery we shall all sleep but we all shall be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last Trump for the trumpet shall sound and the dead
Shall be raised Incorruptible and we shall be changed so what’s going on in the valley you see the reason there is light it is because Jesus is in the valley we need to understand this that when Jesus is in our lives then the best thing we can ever do he’s in
The valley with us God is with us and is it that person Jesus he is Emmanuel God With Us when you in the valley call on that name Emmanuel because God is with us and when God is in it with us we can shout from the valley we can Praise In
The Valley because we have Jesus what do you say do you want to know about him just two minutes asked Joseph in Egypt sold by his brothers Piper’s wife he told a lie on him sent him to prison but what meant what men meant for evil God
Meant it for good and the pronouncement is that God was with him if you still don’t believe me ask those three Hebrew boys down in Babylon shad mesach and the bad Negroes when they were thrown in the fire god was in it with them H you you
May not believe me today you say Pastor how is it real you you ask Daniel and he will tell you that they threw him as food for the vicious and hungry Lions but in the middle of the night while he was praying the lions were fasting
Because God was with him and if you still don’t believe me today you just ask those 12 fearful disciples caught in a boat on Lake G Nazareth their boat was tossing around like a pancake on a hot Grizzle as the winds and the waves beat against and into their boat but the
Master of the sea the master of the Earth the master of the sky stood up and rebuked the winds and the wave God was not just with them God was in it with them anyone know what I’m talking about so family as I close there is no need for you to fear
Why because he’s a our shelter in the time of storm he is our water when we are thirsty he is our bread when we’re hungry my Rose of Sharon my lily of the valley my bright and Morning Star my lawyer in the courtroom my doctor in a
Sick room he’s my rock he’s my sword he’s my shield he’s my wheel in the middle of the wheel and that’s why even though my uncle is so dear to me I as much I believed in him I believed in a greater power Jesus Christ and because
He is Lord Of Our Lives we can say yay though I walk Simeon rest in peace and only God knows what will happen to any one of us so the next time you think about which is going to be few minutes from now about your
Life I’m saying to us we can have every confidence that if it is in Jesus no need to worry may God bless you at this time I’m going to ask all the family members to remain seated and all others I’m asking you to stand as we offer offer a special prayer for the
Beriev family so all members of the family you remain seated and all others I’m inviting you to stand Father in heaven we thank you oh God for the life of Simeon we thank you God that he walked with you and today Lord we present the family those who are mourning his
Lost we ask oh God that you will visit them we ask oh God that you will bring Comfort to their hearts you will provide for them and you will reveal to them the importance of establishing a relationship with you and so father as we move to the
Burial spot we ask that you will grant us journeying mercies and may all things be done to bring honor and glory to your name in Jesus name we pray amen as we are about to leave ladies and gentlemen at this time I’m going to ask of the congregation to stand and
Everybody may I invite you with the exception of the governor general congregation may I invite you to stand our governor general will be leaving us now for another appointment and so we are asking his Entourage that they will do the escort of our governor general to his Transportation governor general we are

Rely now unto him who is able to keep us from falling yes no unto him Jesus Christ who is able to strengthen and sustain us and comfort those of us who mourn no unto him he is able to provide for all our needs and to be there when we need him most
Now unto him who is be able to be with us not just when we are on the Mountaintop but when we are in the valley unto him I say unto him be honor and glory honor and much respect for he’s Lord he’s King he’s comforter he’s a great
