Put your Fai in the light hello guys welcome to another one of my videos this is light blade and well in this one I wanted to talk about the state of Retribution pents so we recently had a small Band-Aid buff of 3% General damage that will go live next
Reset which you know it’s fine but as I said it’s just a Band-Aid fix retribution has big issues in terms of single Target and AOE damage trading since we are the spec that sacrifices the most single Target to do AO and vice versa at around 25% is damage as well as
Having poor scaling with stats uh while the rework was a success in survivability terms it started to show its cracks in the damage Department while I know they can’t do much at the moment since the expansion is ending I wanted to throw some of my ideas on how
They can fix the talents in the future so with that being said let’s start the video okay guys so let’s talk about some historical context of ret bution pal so we can understand what we’re talking about here so since the Inception of Mythic plus Dungeons and Legion through
BFA and Shadow retribution pance has never really had much trouble which with with switching between single Target and AOE damage we could normally do both types of uh damage pretty effectively without much change in our talent Department we also didn’t have much problems with scaling because we did
Scale pretty pretty good with haste and Mastery on the most expansions in AOE and Hast and Critical Strike damage for single Target scenarios although there was kind of a mix of stats in between you know the only stat that we didn’t really scale well with wper cility
Normally we kind of ignored that stat on all those old expansions so in dragonflight after the rework retribution P started scaling really really well with versatility this is because Mastery got nerfed by a very huge margin basically making it worse than versatility in terms of damage and it also didn’t give you
Damage reduction that versatility gave us they also introduced a bunch of talents that just flat out critically stried all the time like Beneful rat they also introduced Templar strikes which critical strikes on the the second hit always a lot of these things contradict a lot of the retribution pil
And kit this is because we also get a lot of Critical Strike from sources in our kid itself there’s a lot of talents that we while we don’t take give us Critical Strike damage for example this thing like judge jury and executioners give you 10% Critical Strike chance to
Judgment we get 20% critical strikes chance from uh Avengers rat might so you can see there’s a lot of things here that are like contradicting each other you know we get Critical Strike but we don’t get much value from Critical Strike uh we got we have a lot of holy
Power ability holy damage abilities that we should get a lot of value from Mastery but we do not get get used to much Mastery until recently recently Mastery has started to become a little bit more valuable but that’s going to change as well as as soon as you get the
Legendary weapon versatility is going to probably be better than Mastery again so yeah we’re in a weird spot at the moment where our scaling with stat is bad and we also have to choose between single charted and AOE you know currently have this these are our options you do big
AOE you do really bad single Target damage or you do really good single Target damage well not even really good just good single Target damage and you do really mediocre AOE damage while a lot of classes have to pick we are the only class that has to pick sacrifice so
Much you know we sacrifice around 25 to 30% of our of every of each damage type for to do the other one which is just baffling to me so now that we have some context on how historical retribution P didn’t have to really pick a lot you
Know we just did both things pretty well how can we fix our talent setup okay guys so let’s talk about what changes would we do to our talent system so we can get a bit more value from our stats and all those things on future expansions but first before we talk
About talents I think we have to talk about our Mastery our Mastery is incredibly Bland it just increases our damage our holy damage by a percentage depending on how much Mastery we have you know some people just call it wor versatility because technically it is versatility gives you both damage and
Also damage reduction so why don’t we turn our Mastery that is worse versatility into better versatility you know so my idea of rework of Mastery would be that Mastery is unnerfed by 50% of the value it was nerfed on the rework and on top of that a quarter of our
Mastery becomes damaged reduction for all abilities I know that would make us incredibly tanky with the current Talent set up but for that Mastery to work I would ask them to remove the damage reduction on Sanctified plates so we would have damage reduction coming from our Mastery to all sources of damage so
We don’t really would need the extra damage reduction on iO abilities on Sanctified plates H I would still still keep the stamina there but yeah that would be the first change I would do to our talent system for all the things here are just fine you know all the
Utility stuff from the general pant Tre is okay another change I would make is I would make Divine Purpose our third Capstone talent and I would get rid of Ben ofall rat Ben for WRA is one of the talents that is making Critical Strike less valuable for us and while yes it
Feels good to like throw those Hammers and make them crit all the time I think for the health of the the spec we need to remove stuff that reduces the value of our stats so instead of having Divine Purpose here we would just bring it as a
Capstone Talent buff it to 20% chance to make our next holy power ability free and deal 10% extra damage and healing you know that only for Retribution pal in specialization because probably that would be too strong for other specializations you know hly and all those things but for us it would be 20%
Chance with a 10% damage increase as for what would replace the talent that’s here you know for benal rat I don’t really know maybe just get rid of it and just Mak make us just pick the three Capstone talents you know just why why choose just make us pick the three
Talents I think that’s just a good option to go with okay now let’s talk on the retribution side of the talentry and there’s there are I have here I have like a lot of ideas that might look some controversial but well you’ll let me know down in the
Comments okay let’s start with the retribution talents so basically I have some changes I would do here and some others that I would just leave there you know for for example the first part of the talentry is just fine you know blade of Justice Divine storm and Swift
Justice and light Justice are just a nice example of how like option Talent should be done both things apply to a different type of spender I mean a builder and it’s just okay to have them expiration I like I like having some extra dots that you can throw on your
Targets to do damage Judgment of Justice this thing I would just remove the damage and make it a 50% slow on judgment you know make it like a purely PVP is option that you could take just to slow your targets a bit more effectively since we lost a hand of
Hindrance pvpers kind of suffer from that a bit but yeah make J Judgment of Justice Just a 50% slow I think would be fine without the damage increase here uh improve blade of justice and holy blade are just fine I would leave them as there is here final veredict and jtic
Curse Vengeance so no one will ever take justic curse Vengeance in a PVE setting because it does less damage than final final predict and it also has less range also doesn’t reset your Hammer of Wrath so H I would make this justic Vengeance a PVP Focus talent and increase the
Healing by 5% Additionally you know so 10% maximum health heal if you hit this and uh because there’s so much dampening currently in the game that the heal doesn’t actually do anything you know a lot of ppers just pick uh final verdict all the time just for the extra range
And all those things so yeah give it a little incentive to get extra survivability from just a cur Vengeance just for pvpers next up uh light Solarity and guided prer are just fine talents as they they are here just leave Art of War here this doesn’t have to be a choice
Voice note No One chooses righteous cause it’s just a wasted Talent here so just leave Art of War there and after that we got jurisdiction which is fine and Tempest of the lightbringer is fine inquisitor’s ey is a nice call back to a legion legendary so I would just leave
It there even though it’s worthless uh sheld the Vengeance obviously leave it there here I have some changes for example bangr momentum so these talents are pretty situational and are most of them are kind of worthless you know bangers momentum has good uses mostly in just pure single
Target fights so instead of making it a pure single Target Talent why don’t we make this thing uh have effects on both AOE and single Target damage and we could do that by using the old bangers momentum that we had in Shadowland so I’m going to show you here guys this is
The old bangers momentum so your Hammer of frat whenever you throw it you got a buff that made you do more damage you stacked up to three times so we would use this old bangers momentum and instead of the new one and that would make it so throwing your Hammer of rat
That’s only single Target would actually give you some benefits in aov situations because you would be getting that extra damage buff on all your damaging abilities you know it would stack up to three times and I think 3% extra damage per stack would be nice because if you
Had have it fully stacked H you would have an extra 9% damage to everything you do you know so that’s a nice incentive to use your Hammer of rat in both single targeted AOE situations toy just delete it it’s worthless why I have this talent I I don’t know zit Ferber I
Think it’s fine to keep it buff it to 30% so it can compete with the other options that we’re going to have here because you know bangar momentum giving you 9% extra damage when it’s fully stacked it’s really powerful so yeah buff seal let fber by 30 by 10%
Additionally so it’s a 30% increase on auto speed attack so it g it has good Synergy with crusading strikes here uh keep consecrated ground you know just a nice slow for pvpers I guess but Rush of light I don’t think there’s a reason why this thing should exist when we have a
Better version of this again in Shallow L let’s go back to the legendary powers of shallow why do we have Rush of light when we have the superior Relentless Inquisitor you know make it put Relentless Inquisitor in the talentry remove Rush of light and make fental Inquisitor stack up to three times and
Each time is 3% so 9% extra haste from that Relentless Inquisitor Talent H we have 30% seedless Ferber and we have old uh damage increasing bangr momentum here oh by the way bangers momentum will will keep that the extra charge so you will have two charges for that new bangr
Momentum as well so yeah I think all of these talents do something in single Target and it also do something in AOE I think the three options would be nice there competing for a spot okay now let’s go down here improve judgment and boundless judgment yeah
They’re fine no just keep them keep them like that you know improve judgment is very very rarely used for pveers but I think it has a place for pvpers if they want to use like double charges of judgment to have uh more range abilities you know crusading strikes and temper
Strikes both are good I I like them both I played with both of them extensively H crusading strikes is fine as it is uh Templar strikes I would make some changes uh first of all this this Talent uh makes are some of our stats less valuable so Critical Strike on the
Second part is less valuable because it always critically strikes so that would make it deal less damage on the second hit but it now scales with extra Critical Strike chance so any any Critical Strike chance you have over 100 will give this thing more damage so if
It will start slow you know the damage on the second hit will be lower but as more Critical Strike you get it’s going to be doing more damage eventually it’s going to be higher than the base it’s here so yeah that’s one of the things the second one would be make this thing
Scale with haste as well so the gcd is not locked to one second make it scale with haste I think it’s just healthy for any class that you make it scale with all the stats it can get okay next up delete Divine rat it’s worthless 3 seconds of wings I don’t think is
Necessary you know it’s kind of like whatever Talent that’s here so deleted next up consecrated blade and divine Hammer so consecrated blade is fine it’s really fun to use you know just press blade of justice and you drop a consecration there free consecrations who doesn’t like that but Divine hammers
We have to buff this buff the Divine Hammer damage by 70% probably 70 or 50% I think it’s a good value to buff this thing because it does have double the cooldown of the consecrated blade uh consecration now this thing has a 10-sec cool down this thing has a 20 second
Cool down so make it deal more damage and also you have to actually use a global cool down to use the M hammers so make it also generate one holy bar I don’t think the game’s going to break if we generate one holy bar with Divine
Hammer every 20 seconds so yeah I think that would be a good good solution to make these two talents competitive between each other after that blade of Vengeance Imperial Legacy it’s fine you know leave them like it is I think both options are just healthy down here we
Have bangars of Justice I think I was going to buff this you know in a future iteration but I think I would leave it at 20% now because this is in a world where we have Divine Purpose as a a Capstone talent that has a 20% proc
Chance so yeah I would leave bangers of Justice there I think the extra holy power cost would justify it existing in a world with Divine Purpose okay next one heart of Crusader it’s going to be weak compared to Bangers of Justice like I said in a world with Divine Purpose but I would
Leave it like it is maybe give it a 5% buff on the extra critical damage part maybe an extra 5% on a the crusading strike damage uh hler judgment I would also leave this as it is maybe reduce one rank I don’t think it’s necessary to have two ranks of disability just leave
It at uh like I mean three ranks just leave it at two ranks it would be fine because it has good Synergy with Divine Purpose so yeah just leave higher judgment as it is reduce one R uh wings okay here’s a big change uh both Wings
Have one minute cool down so Crusade and Avengers wrath normal both have a one minute cool down I don’t know why they make Crusade have a two-minute cool down I know it’s a lot stronger cool down but they could Nerf it until it’s like an equivalent of normal wings that way
People have a choice between you want to go really fast with your wings or you want to like hit really hard and just burst it personally I like both versions both wings but I have a preference to Crusade you know I like to just build up my
Stacks get like that huge damage then use my final Reckoning just explode you know and also going fast as really nice for procs because when you have a lot of haste the game becomes a lot more fun so yeah I I would do that you know Crusade
Is not a one minute cool down its duration is like now 23 seconds and it still goes up to 30% damage and 30% haste it would be I think onar with a 20 second just Avengers might that just gives you damage instantly because you have to actually build the Crusade up
You know you have to build three times holy power Spenders to get the max value and then you can start doing your stuff so yeah that’s what I would do there here bless Champions just leave it as it is I think it’s just a good spell gives
You nice extra cleave on all everything you do and Imperium power so this is another throwback to BFA I would do here instead of making crusading strikes practice everything will proti this at a 15% chance to make your next Divine storm free and deal uh I would make it
Deal 10% extra damage you know because this is our world where we now have Divine Purpose so yeah make Imperium power deal extra temp % damage is just fine because it will now proc of anything we do okay next row so we have adjudication here this just increases their damage of Critical Strike
Abilities and gives us that little spinny Hammer so this is a world without uh Ben for rat so the spinning Hammer would appear less often so maybe just make it a chance to appear without a Critical Strike uh hit you know just give it a chance to make the spinny
Hammer appear and still increase our Critical Strike damage uh by a certain percentage you know just 5% I think it’s just fine egg is have protection this is just a defensive Talent so leaveit as it is penitence 10% more damage to our overtime damage effects I think it’s
Just fine yeah we’ll leave it like it is here we have some changes Blades of light I would make bladee of Light have the passive of divine Arbiter so the 5% damage increase to Holy strike abilities would still be applied to Blades of light so for this iteration of
Retribution p and I would still keep the holy strike radiant damage like dichotomy but I don’t really know why because I’m going to delete Divine Arbiter but still just just leave it for now but this thing is going to increase your holy strike abilities by 5% and
Also make everything that it says here do holy strike damage okay next up we have final Reckoning and execution sentence and this is the huge the biggest change that I would do I would delete execution sentence I don’t think it has to exist in a world where final Reckoning exists because they do
Basically the same thing they increase the damage of your stuff by 30% this one increases all the damage your a single target takes by 30% and this one increases the damage of everything that the final Reckoning hits by 30% you know well not everything your holy power abilities but still it’s basically the
Same thing this is just unhealthy for the kid currently it’s either going to too hard in single Target or too hard in AOE just make it one thing you know and I think that one thing should be final Reckoning just delete execution sentence completely I know that I’m going to get
A lot of flack for saying this in the comments because I know a lot of people like execution sentence but I think it’s just a healthy thing to do you know just make final Reckoning the only option here uh we should buff its damage by
Yeah an extra 10% I think would be nice so 40% increase damage from your holy power abilities for 12 seconds it’s still a one minute cooldown it still does a burst of damage but there is no longer execuive sentence it no longer exists maybe they can bring it back in
The future on let’s say the Templar build or something like that they’re doing in a orbit within but for my idea of talents no execution sentence anymore okay the next one is wake of Ashes so wake of Ashes uh B basically is just the old wake of Fes from Legion we
Just baking truths wake into wake of Fes no need to have truths wake as a c Stone Talent you know it’s just adding some dot damage to your wake of Ashes so we bake that back into normal wake of Ashes as a onep pointer Now we move into
Burning Crusade and this Talent is going to be left as it is you know it’s still going to be increasing the damage that our radiant abilities do by 5% I think that’s just fine to leave behind and now we’re going to the last row of talents
Where I’m going to be doing a bit of a more radical changes to these abilities you know with these talents so seran light and divine Arbiter I’m going to be swapping these talents L for something better from the past for seran light I’m going to be bringing back Sanctified
Wrath I think Sanctified wrath is going to do the job much better than seran light will ever do as you can see on your screen this is scientifi rat it increases the duration of Your Wings by 25% which could be nice you know it’s going to increase the duration of either
Wings or Crusade you know by a small amount and whenever you use holy power spending abilities while you have wings you do explosion of damage around you this is really good because that explosion of damage used to be uncapped so we can leave that as uncapped AOE
Damage and remember this is a world where we have a Capstone of Divine Purpose here and we can also choose to use Imperium power so we’re going to be blasting with a UNCA a damage whenever we have wings and also remember our wings are a one minute cool down ability
So I think yes this has to be tuned down a bit but I think Sanctified rat would be just a really good option instead of searing light okay so next up we have the talent for wake of Ashes like I said truth wake is going to be baked into
Normal wake of Ashes it’s no longer to be a going to be a talent but seeding Flames is now going to be the single Target option for wake up ashes so the old seeding Flames well the the one that we are using currently increases the damage reduces the damage that secondary
Targets take for all your wake of ashes and it also hits twice for an extra amount of radiant damage this version is going to only hit your main target with the extra two wake ashes but at a increased rate of damage so we’re going to buff the damage of the two extra wake
Of Ashes but they they are only going to be able to hit your main target while the wake of Ash is normal the normal one is going to be able to hit everything as it is uh currently you know it’s still going to be uncapped so yeah this is
Going to be that single Target option for wakea fhes but it’s still not going to be hurting our uncapped or AOE damage in any shape or form or it’s going to be like a bit reduced but not by much okay next up we’re going to do the talents that buff final Reckoning
Remember this world execution sentence does not exist this thing is yeed and deleted so now we have final Reckoning uh the first one here is going to increase the duration of final Reckoning by up to 6 seconds I think I think it would be the correct thing to do you
Know increase the duration of uh final Reckoning by around half you know if you pick the talent that will be a juicy uh Capstone after that we are going to use instead of the bind auxiliary we’re going to use the old um passive from final Reckoning so we’re going to modify
This you know a bit because the old version is this one that you can see on your screen H whenever you had final Reckoning not on cool down you would do sometimes you had a chance to do damage to your main target and it will take extra damage from your holy power
Spending abilities so now we’re going to reverse that so now when your final Reckoning is on cool down you’re you have a chance to hit your main target with this little hit of holy damage and it takes extra damage from your holy bar spinning abilities so it centives you to
Use your abilities on cool down so you can get that extra single Target damage so yeah this would be the single Target option for final Reckoning it’s still increasing your damage to your main target but we’re not sacrificing a huge amount of AOE to get this Talent okay
Now let’s go to the last one and this is divine Arbiter like I said Divine ARB Divine Arbiter is going out and instead of that we’re going to bring Sanctified Arbiter so the same thing as Sanctified rat but only for single Target you know so basically whenever you use a holy
Power spinning ability your main target is going to take uh extra hit of holy damage so this time it’s not going to be a AOE explosion it’s just going to be an explosion on your main target that’s only going to hit that Target and that H
The hit is going to be holy strike damage so it’s going to be increased by your Blades of light talent that way if you pick both Divine Arbiter and sering light you are going to get the combined effects you know so if you use a holy power spinning ability that can be
Anything you know Divine storm temp uh Templars um final verdict uh you’re going to be doing a big AO hit and also you’re going to be doing a hit on your main target you know and I think that’s a really healthy way of Distributing our talents around you know most of them are
Doing both things all the time and there’s some of them that are going to be doing that extra single Target damage if you need it so those are my ideas guys let me know down in the comments what do you think of these Talent modifications that I would do in the
