Hello everyone my name is kaia smith and i am the national panhellenic president here at texas state i’m also a member of alpha kappa alpha sorority incorporated here at texas state the national parliamentary council hosts four sororities and four fraternities here on our campus all of these organizations being black greek letter organizations
The national panhellenic council prides itself on developing world leaders who uphold values of scholarship philanthropy and being unified in the growth and development of our surrounding communities the national panhellenic council each organization hosts different recruitment processes however we do all require at least a 2.5 gpa and at least 12 college
Credit hours with the university over the past semester the nphc has been able to really hone in on having a plethora of events as kobit did kind of halt that but it halted that for many organizations as well however we were able to bring it back
And we hosted game nights and hump days which are days where we showcase strolling and just a plethora of things we were also able to do a lot of community service projects with not only the hayes county women’s shelter but with the hayes county food bank as well
Um and honestly for me the national panhellenic council my experience with being on this council has really been super fulfilling honestly i’ve been able to gain friendships in and out of my organization even outside of my council with other men and women who find themselves in the fraternity and sorority life community
And i think that’s been really rewarding and it’s made my experience here at texas state just so much better and more than i even felt like i bargained for and i’m very happy about my experience and my time within my council
