Um so today we’ve got a little bit of a difficult book um I’m going to get back to my janets because I need it after this one I have two Comfort authors for the month of uh December due to family um deaths U it takes a lot and I go to my comfort
Books um this is one of the more sadder ones don’t step on my keyboard um sorry uh this is Brotherhood and death and like I’ve said I’m an audio fan so Susan Erikson is your pal and uh laurelai King is your pal for uh Janet’s books and uh we have to go on
Record here that um Eve Dallas is a lieutenant with the New York police and Security Department in Manhattan uh she has a partner peab buddy her husband R is extremely rich um I will I usually go through this whole thing of her um uh having focus with but uh her job
That she’s not she doesn’t she sees herself as a cop first and works wife second it’s just how she is right now but um and I will mention about her child because we will be talking about it um because we have some really hard moments in this book we also uh well
Let’s yes ma’am yes ma’am I’m here for you I’m thinking about getting some new kittens um get out of here got to stop stepping on my computer sorry sorry um it’s just a it’s you know okay you’re killing my cat Vibes today I usually have a cat Spiel but
You’re you’re mushing it up today no stepping on the computer come on I’m sorry um so we get to see or like see one of my authors refers to is on stage um so we get to see a character that we usually only see for Snippets get major onstage quality time this time
Around and we have some really he’s a really emotional guy and he’s really a brilliant guy and uh so um where was it we have a few we have Eve and PE buddy is her partner and McNab is her cohab and he also works in the electronics division would you
Stop she’s brushing my computer so if my computer screen is flopping around it’s because she’s brushing it um everybody in this house has got to mark my computer I don’t know why it’s just how it is have be crazy smokey smokey come here come here come here well what do you
Keep coming over here for oh Lord um so we so we have a couple of cute moments and I’m going to mention naen what what what you driving me bonkers all of a sudden you like me how come you like me all of a sudden I’m sorry trying what what are you
Doing what are you doing yeah okay get to the bookie guys I’m sorry oh so um this is a um where was I so we have Eve the New York the lieutenant in New York City Police and Security Department PE budy her partner mnap her spouse or cohab and he works as a
Detective in the electronics division we also have feni her mentor and he’s captain of ed rock is her husband Somerset is their uh major Domo or whatever you want to call them family member uh naen is a friend and she’s also a reporter we don’t see
Or hear from too many of the others so we won’t go through all them um but uh what was it we do get a lot of time with her Department cast members so we do get some on screen time or on stage time with them and that’s good and we have a
Couple of Precious Moments and if you know me you know that I cannot talk about these books without sharing them with you I have to share them with you I have to share my pleasure with these books with you that’s just who I am okay please
Okay um so Dr Charlotte miror is the uh shrink for the the police department and she’s got a husband uh Dennis mea who is a college professor University Professor I think he teaches lit I’m not sure I forget but we do get a lot of background
On him that we hadn’t had before he gets a lot of screen time we’ve always known what a caring man he was but we even get more of that in this br um so we start out with um Mera coming to Eve’s office um Eve had been planning to she was
Going to get off shift on time and she was going to go home and have a spaghetti and meatball dinner with her husband and uh you know stinky P just a second so uh Eve is thinking about leaving work at in time and she’s going to go home
And her and work are going to have some meatballs and spaghetti for dinner and uh she uh she’s about to leave when Mira comes uh all upset and Mary doesn’t usually get upset she’s usually a very steady person and uh uh he says that he was at his she
Says that Dennis is at his grandfather’s house and that um he’s been hurt or injured and his cousin is either gone or killed or what so Eve and her go to the house and apparently the grandparents left the estate divided in half 50% to Edward and 50% to Dennis and
Apparently uh Edward wants to sell and Dennis does not it’s is the family home it’s got historical meaning you know emotional meaning in the family and I’m thinking well maybe the grandkids or somebody will take it over at some point uh you know Edward’s kids or Dennis’s kids may want to live there
I mean it’s stupid to leave that whole 15,000 square foot however big it is it’s just my imagination my assumption that it’s huge but according to the description it’s huge house vacant so maybe somebody would have want to live there so um she uh and Dennis wants to
Sell and that’s denn Edward wants to sell and apparently he’s in some financial trouble and Eve goes to the site and she she does a survey the site surveillance you know SE walk through and then she talks to Dennis and um he’s got a bump on his head there’s signs of
Blood on the floor and she finds that he was hit with a elephant statue and it was consistent with the marks on his c um so Eve calls calls rook and I have to I like the little personal moments and I have to share the personal moments
Um she led with I’m sorry don’t be his face filled the screen and boy what a face it never failed to shight how some days the gods the angels and The Poets the artists all together got all got together to create something perfect a beautifully carved mouth wildly
Impossible blue eyes sculpted cheeks all framed by thick black hair you’ve quoted Casey continued with those Miss of Ireland whispering in his voice to complete the Perfection sort of no body which makes it different or none yet Dennis mirror was attacked what the just for her smile in his eyes vanished is he
Hurt what hospital I’ll meet you he’s okay I just sent them home he took a pretty he took a pretty good whack to the back of the head then smacked his temple on the floor when he fell probably has a mild contest but mirr is on it where are you at the grandfather’s
House Mr mir’s grandfather or it was it’s half Mr mir’s half his cousin former Senator Edward Mir who was also attacked and is currently missing I need to go through the house to make sure he’s not dead and stuffed in a closet then I have to talk to some people on
The way home I don’t know how long give me the address Rock it’s in SoHo there’s no need for you to come all the way down here on a night like this you can give me the address or I can find it for myself either way I’m on my way any meets
Her any he meet her um so then uh they go talk to the yes she’s laying on her back she’s looking at Mommy a ah you’re too much today you’re too much you’re too much yes you are yes you are I’m sorry I don’t have the camera equipment to show
Her fancy butt I don’t there she is there’s my baby you really don’t want to see me do you you just want to watch her hey that’s my jacket hi so then Rock arrives and they go talk to the housekeeping staff who are very friendly with the mirrors and uh they
First they Panic they’re like a what happened what happened but they calm them down they question they get uh some info from them and then they go and try to talk to the Senator’s wife she’s she’s she’s just if you watch my videos before and I’m trying to you
Need to fill in the sentence she’s just you can put whatever you want after that she’s just so they go and talk to the Senator’s wife and you be the Judge now we all know that Eve loves loves to bully and I don’t think it’s nice that she tries to do this but uh some people get their jollies over Eve getting her jollies over the doorman Rock pulled the dle to the curb in front of a gleaming silver building
Eve smirked when the Dorman looked like a formal polar bear in white Livery with gold braiding hustled through the icy rain to scowl at them now if you are an eve Dallas fan and you’ve been reading all the books and you read promises in death my fa my favorite up to this point
There’s some there’s another one that takes its place later on but uh the dle was made to look like a hunk of junk very very normal very silver grayish whatever but inside not only is the bulletproof and this proof and that proof it has security systems it has
Technology that no one can even imagine but nobody knows by looking at it uh you own this place no why don’t we go in and see if we want to I I get to intimidate the doorman she said before they got out do not bribe him I I think

Then you can contact him right now prove that and we’ll be out of your hair with sincere apologies for interrupting your evening Hank she actually snapped her fingers contact senator Mir ma’am I’ve I’ve attempted to do so on all numbers I can’t reach him give me that thing she
Snatched Hank’s lick out of his hand stro off with it on Sky High sky blue heels wow she must be a joy to work for Eve commented and and then the woman comes back in she stormed back shove the link at Hank the senator is currently in communicado which should be no concern

They care for each other a great deal they don’t want to publicly admit to each other that they care about each other a great bit so um Eve waited a bit for the expected sneering remark on how late they’d come home or some other insult but he only said Mr Mira he’s
Right enough Rook said shrugging out of his coat Eve’s just spoken with Dr Miram I’m glad to hear it if there’s anything I can do you’ve only to let me know he drifted away in that nearly silent way of his leaving if Eve frowning after him
After a day like this I don’t even get to take a shot at him you told a former senator’s wife to kiss your ass he slipped off his Eve’s coat be satisfied with that but that was a professional kiss my ass Ro gave Galahad a quick rub before starting up the steps there’s
Always tomorrow you a trip you know that Miss SMI um rock reports that uh not only does Edward mea have uh secret stashes of cash he’s in need of cash he also has several Mistresses so he go through that um rock uh discussed the day and naen let me see
Oh yeah so as you know naen was attacked Eve told her to keep the door closed and she was attacked in the last book you’ll have to read there was someone that thought killing naen would be a favor to uh Eve and naen is a really good friend
Of evees uh they were going to kill naen because supposedly in their view uh naen didn’t respect Eve and she does she’s a best friend um so oh Sho excuse Me it’s just not my day today so anyways naen was attacked in the last book because the person thought that Eve was not showing them their respect and in fact she does respect Eve they’re really close friends um naen is a reporter she has her own TV show now she’s written
The iov book she’s one an Oscar or yeah I’m pretty sure they’ve already done that um it’s she’s a really good friend and so naiden wants to get out of apartment she wants something better she’s advanced in her career she has a little Financial well worth all and she
Wants something better and who else to go to than the Mogul himself but Rock to ask for advice on what to get I’ll be seeing naine later today he said when Eve Rose to strap on her weapon harness toss a jacket over it she’s got where she wants to be down to a
Warehouse Prime for conv conversation and a triplex on the upper west side Triplex a penthouse kind of thing slick building fully secure lots of amenities it is yes tell her to take the triplex she might think a warehouse is Frosty and how she can renovate it make it
Slick and Le but the process would make her crazy plus when she’s got her gigs at Channel 75 the book thing blah blah she glanced at him both of them yours they are she eliminated several other locations and properties then she asked me to suggest two of mine and I asked if

Day bing bing bing she doesn’t tell time though but anyways we’ve got a very important ceremony going on we’ve got a career advancement for one of our beloved absolute beloved Troy trueart is getting his promotion today and it’s very very important and it’s one of my favorite moments um
So I have to share with you I have to oh and uh she found peab buddy crying um and as we know throughout all of these books this is book 41 I believe 40 no 42 42 peab buddy has been wanting to lose weight because she thinks she
Has a fat butt no one else thinks she has a fat butt but she does and we’ve all been there we all think that personally we look like beach whes we may not look like beach whes to other people but to ourselves we do and so Eve finds her crying when
She’s putting on her uniform because they got to wear dress uniform for the ceremony an e impatient order a fresh tears spilled they’re loose in the waist and even a little baggy in the butt I lost some weight I actually lost some weight I know how this uniform fit the
Last time I wore it and now it’s just a little bit loose okay great pull it together had to share I love the character interaction you can solve a mystery and have small bits of character interaction in between it works there are some authors that do way too much
There are some authors that don’t do enough but this is a good balance and um sheot Baxter who traded his usually Snappy suit for dress blues already seated in the front row cting it close LT I’ve got time you need to switch with me and stand end up there with trueart

She stepped up to Whitney for the presentation a few personal words with the commander and the photo up she could pick up family members by their glistening eyes during the Applause Troy truart detective third grade Applause broke out hard and fast and she managed to keep her face sober even though the

Fly um so he’s decided that while they talk and while he answers the questions he obviously needs to keep busy so I’m going to make hot chocolate dentist denounce you’ll you like my hot chocolate he said to Eve who wouldn’t but you and dilia you like hot chocolate
It’s a big weakness of mine and now I know why I didn’t get any cake earlier it’s better than cake he winked at her tugging hard on Eve’s heart you and deia come sit at the counter while I’ll make it I’ll keep my hands busy while you
Interview me and Charlie you and Gillian sit right there Gilly you behave maybe he chuckled as he rose that he that they do it his way Eve decided and got up to watch switch to a stool at the big kitchen counter while Dennis hunted in cupboards you make it from scratch pe’s
Eyes went shiny as he found a bar of chocolate a canister of sugar it’s a real treat to watch somebody make hot chocolate from scratch e and peia looked to remind her that they weren’t there for a treat as dennice put an actual pan on an actual cooked up Eve reminded
Herself of the same record on and this calls for a moment and I want to point out if you watch my uh Janet Ivanovic videos you’ll see me waving the box of Krispy cream because I can’t uh read Janet without Crispy Cream I can’t see crispy K cream without Janet
They just go together and as long as we’re talking about hot chocolate here one one of my friends one of my evil friends gave me these for Christmas not a little bag of bitesized chocolates that one could be tempted with and have one little piece and let
It satisfy the chocolate for the day and be done with it but no now I got to figure out how to eat these and then secure them for future reference but there’s no way a little bite-sized package would have been good so and there’s a diabetic husband in the
Lot and one of I have to show it to you if you haven’t seen it I have to show it but we are 12 15th cousins whatever but anyway this is Christmas we’re on a diet here we’re with peab buddy I got me some Swiss SMI too I
Should have read that but the packet’s plain so anyways back to my little story so they question him and uh the hot chocolate is on the ceiling and I didn’t mention it before because I forgot but um Eve’s closest and oldest friend is Mavis and Mavis
Used to be on the Griff they keep mentioning that one soon sooner or later we’re going to get to a book where they they don’t mention that anymore it’s getting quite old and it’s no longer valid um Mavis is now married she has a child uh Leonardo is a fashion designer she’s
Got a career she’s a rock star and uh Eve grew up in the Foster system and she’s not did not participate in any birthday parties in any celebrations there was never anything like that in the house in the Foster houses she was with so
Um she’s not used to it she she she has hard times with it um ah I’m using the power of positive thinking but to spare my ass the pain what are you guys getting Bella for her birthday I don’t know instant Panic grip trip how the hell do I know what to get
For a one-year-old kid how does anybody the kid can’t tell you and nobody remembers being a one-year-old so it’s just a crapshoot the party’s in a couple of weeks shut up PE buddy okay but shutting up means I can’t tell you what I know she’ really go for and McNab and I
Really can’t spring for a good one what pey clamped her lips smugly I swear I’ll drop kick you from this spot three blocks East so you splat in the middle of Fifth Avenue a dollhouse she’s young for it but we had her up for a few hours
A few days ago and I’d sent for mine it’s just a little one my dad made me but she went nuts for it played with it the whole time and really well too arranging the little Furniture pretending cooking in the kitchen Eve wondered why why seriously anyone wanted
To pretend to cook if dolls aren’t alive why do they need a house that’s where pretend comes into it does it really does it really or is it when you’re sleeping or not around they start having parties in a drinking Brew eating snacks watching scream you’re creeping me out
You should be creeped what’s to stop them from having doll orgies in there ever think of that and uh have an audience know there you go so here’s my audience I’m sorry for the noise there’s nothing I can do about it sorry um so then they talk to all the
Mistresses and it turns out there’s more than one there’s several and uh Baxter wakes Eve up early in the middle of the night uh I think you want to be here lieutenant and she’s like uh back if you don’t want to be busted down to uniform you better be uh and he’s like
Well uh uh he was sit I’m not going to try and spoil it for you but he was done the same way Edward miror was so um I was thinking about this once upon a time there was a group of men who belonged to their own own madeup type of
College fraternity and they called it the Brotherhood they did some really horrific stuff to women they drugged and physically and mentally abused these women horrifically and other uh details will be revealed in the book and now their victims have had enough and they are striking back and it’s the victims that
Are seeking Revenge later Eve will um uh tell them that they have C if they had come forward and uh reveal this information to the police especially her it could have been handled and now they will also be punished for what they the women women will be punished for
What they did to the men if the women had come forward then the men would have been punished and the woman would have got some kind of closure that way but this way the women are going to go to prison and the men are dead so yeah they
Suffered for the whatever they suffered for but that’s it if they had come to the law and it seek the law they would have suffered for the rest of the their lives in prison for 10 or 20 or 30 years however long the rest of their life would have been but now they’ve
Limited their suffering to 24 to 48 hours and then that’s the end of it they’re dead they won’t suffer anymore unless of course there really is a hell you can do it that way but Eve was telling these women at the end when the case is finally solved and I’m probably
Getting ahead of myself that if you had come to the polias they would have suffered eternally you know for the rest of their lives public humiliation their families would have the whole nine yards but you doing this this way you know um so uh they they’re also they’ve all got
Tattoos and stuff um I did want to bring up this one other moment um Eve had uh one of the houses has an entire room full of dolls uh probably five or $6,000 and Eve just goes off and then they find a little hidey hole the man has his safe
In the bathroom now that’s a unique place for a safe and it’s probably a really good idea man has his side of the house she has her side of the house and she would never go in his bathroom it probably smells blah blah blah and that’s where the man kept his safe and
That’s where they find the golden key that gives them the golden answers um so and they try and talk to some of the other guys but they don’t listen and they end up dead but uh uh I wanted to oh they’re talking to one of the um uh
Neighbors of one of their people and uh one of their suspects and the woman’s going off uh I uh wow I just tagged my roomie officer tanker said it was okay if I did and I told Reed my roomie How I Learned officer tanker say to officer Messing
That Lieutenant Lieutenant Dallas was on the way and Reb said Lori no way and I said true way Reb but he didn’t believe it and here you are we saw the vid Julian is so completely iced and Reb said that we did when we did how
He do you in one heart knock and I said Gee that’s probably rude sorry I can I take him back and show them you’re here no now that we’ve had our light moment we’re going to have a real serious moment um Eve goes to talk to Dennis Mir one more
Time and she lets it out and there is such a thing as doctor patient confidentiality and Eve just figured that because he was her husband Charlotte would have spoken to him at least broadly but no Charlotte is a very strictly H she’s going to sleep um very strictly Dr she didn’t say a
