Hi I’m Ali rice prod and I am here as an anchor for excused and today we are exploring the ins and outs of Greek life here we have I’m Haley loft I’m a senior I’m Jamie new Craig I’m sophomore so if you guys could tell me your experiences
Going through rush and what was it what it was like that I was this little clueless freshman I didn’t know what I was doing but I did love I always had a lot of friends in high school I did love talking to new people so my favorite
Thing was that I got to talk to all these different people and learn about different people’s lives and you know about campus and I think that people go into rush and they want to learn about what they can do on campus and how they can get involved and find where they feel at
Home and I am lucky that I found that I was really looking forward to big day and finally finding out what sorority I’d be joining after we all went to shine and got our cards which revealed a sorority we were gonna be in we all were
A lot of classrooms where we met the rest of our new chapter members and got to talk we get to know each other and played some games and learned some sorority Cheers which was really fun because as you know and kickoff sororities are jumpin on screaming cheering and you’re dying to
Just know those chairs by heart I sprinted all the way here and when I got here there was a big party celebration balloons Pizza music and the rest of the sisters were out the house meeting and everyone was just you know really energetic and happy to have us there
I always wanted to live in from when I got initiated I saw all the older girls always coming into the house and having fun and having 35 other roommates and I wanted that so badly and now I’m a senior and at the opportunity to live in
With all my best friends and all the people that I came into the house with and it’s constant dance parties and running around and gossiping and and eating together and studying together and it’s never a dull moment and it’s a great way to end the year in my favor
You know what I can’t say there’s one favorite part about being in a sorority I love that I have a whole house full of sisters that I could go to at any moment in time ask for help ask for advice talk to shop with eat with walk with any of
The above activities I also love the philanthropic aspect of it I we join almost every flat fee on campus as many as we possibly can and can afford and we really make it a goal to try our best and you know compete to make it fun but
Also know that we’re doing it for a good cause and it really brings a different value to being in a sorority everyone does things just about the social in the partying which is a lot of the fun as I’m sure you know and a great experience in itself and part of college and
Growing up but I think the whole philanthropic aspect of it and learning about how each chapter is helping a different area of Syracuse there’s children and there’s homeless and there’s breast cancer walks and all the different activities and I think it’s just a really good thing and a good way
To bring people together and meet friends first I’m gonna be getting a little in about a week so I’m looking forward to that and making baskets I’m gonna try to be on the same level as mine where last year even though that’ll be tough and just building more
Relationships with girls older than me my age me enjoying like the moments that after college we know we won’t have anymore and just spending time with each other cuz goes by like normally when we have parties we usually have a theme and we get very into it we
Decorate clothes dazzle clothes we cut them out we try to get all creative with it and that’s kind of our favorite part because we like to kind of see what we can make out of our clothing and we have 35 different closets and we’re running throughout the halls and dancing around
I remember the other weekend I was an angel and then I was Superman and my favorite was when I was a flamingo I made this bra out of pink feathers and I had a little tutu no one really knew what I was gonna but but I knew what I
Was and making it was the best part so I didn’t really care anyway but that’s kind of everyone’s favorite part of going in the parties because they basically look around and say who has the most fun and creative costume and and we certainly love it when I leave
College and I graduate my house is gonna have a huge impact on me I’ve met so many different people and characters my friends have different outlooks on life and different personalities and it’s inevitable that they’re gonna change me for the better when I leave I know that I’m leaving I’m graduating it’s been
Four years but it continues after four years when I graduate I’m still gonna keep in touch with them I’m gonna see them and I hope they’re gonna be at my wedding and it really is for life and I feel so blessed you
