300 times in the Bible but we still struggle to love people we still think it is an imaginary term for a Hallmark experience instead of understanding that’s something that God has offering forgiveness and to forgive particularly in this church we understand the power of forgiveness so
We we tell you time and time again to Let It Go but somehow even though it’s been said 49 times in the Bible and probably 50 billion times any man your Praise Fellowship we still hold grudges we’re still bitter we still hold on to um past relationships that broke us and
We stay broken which I don’t like that term so God is saying look he wants you to to we want us to shake you up just a little so you’ll be able to hear this word and understand the power that he’s offering you away from the cycle of
Habituation so the purpose of this message on this Christmas Sunday and our gift to you is to transform your Christmas by reminding you of the power of Christ that you have inside of you to break your own cycle of habituation yeah that is our gift to you
That’s what we say thank you thank you in our scriptures in Acts 3: 1-8 we see the negative impact of habit situation on the lame man you see Peter and John were both commissioned by Jesus and he and recognized the early they were recognized as the early Apostles
Peter and John were not going to the temple at the hour of sacrifice but at The Hour of Prayer because they realized since Jesus had already died was buried and resurrected they didn’t need the sacrifice anymore they realized that the sacrificial system had been fulfilled so

Temple the lame man had good reason to believe that beginning at the beginning the beginning at the beautiful gate could support him he had reason to believe that if he practiced daily not every Sunday daily that they sat him at the gate that he would be supported
There was and there is a strong tradition of arms giving given to the poor especially beggars in Judaism and doing it as an act of righteousness so here it is listen to this the lame Man simply wanted to be supported in the condition that he was in wow and we have

Summers ago it was hot oh I’m talking about it was blistering hot we out on the black top I’m talking it was hot hot right it it it it it was so hot did you say how hot was it never mind it was it
Was just hot it was hot and this man was standing there he had no if he had water we couldn’t see it and he was holding on to the pole and he was just begging as cars going by and and one time we looked and it looked like he was getting ready
To fall over and he L like he was de dehydrated getting ready to fall over so being good Believers and Christians and and human beings that we are we call the paramedic sister Oran and the paramedics came they they spoke with him they did whatever it is they called treating and
They left 2 hours later he went right back to that spot right back to that spot he wasn’t looking to be transformed all right he was looking just to be treated in the condition he that he was in so good friends don’t allow the people that they say they love
To stay in the condition if you hanging around people who support your dysfunction you need a new set of people wow at some point someone should have said something to him hey we got something better but because we don’t want to hurt people’s feelings but we don’t care that their
Destiny is being hurt W or the next generation is being hurt we just give them comfort in the condition that they in and Pat ourselves on the back as being a good friend you see to be lame is being unable to walk without difficulty as the result of an
Injury or illness of that affects your leg or your foot also being lame can be the inability to move forward or effectively in certain part or certain parts of your own life because of the lack of effort and or the unwillingness to receive the help this is your form of
Habituation so I get it I get I’ve heard from people hey they just don’t want no help so I’m going ask you as I give this list of people we can’t the type of people we can’t help instead of thinking about other people I want you to say is this
Me so this is the type of people that can’t be helped cannot be helped right so when I do this list they going to be thinking of everybody else right they going to be thinking of Lucy that lives down the street they going think of you know John
That I work with y’all going to be like yep that’s them yep praise the Lord that’s that’s them absolutely prophets keep going down list cuz I got list of people I’m saying I want you to challenge yourself say is that me so certain people that we can’t help
Are those people who don’t want to help who just don’t don’t want to be helped they’re good say me you can’t help people who know they need it and don’t want it that’s for me the most frustra yes they know they need the help and you offer something and
They don’t want to have it you can’t help people who don’t want help now but maybe later but not now ever encounter those people yeah yeah you can help me a little bit but you know next year you can take me to AA next year but right now I’m going to celebrate with
Christmas CH you can’t help people who don’t want help from you so are there certain people you don’t want help from wow you can’t help people who aren’t willing to do what it takes to get the help it could be us it could be people I got amen cor over there making me
Nervous but you find yourself unable to receive the help because you’re in this state of being comfortable in the condition that you’re in one of the things uh prophets and and I have been given anointing by God is to counil and not even counsel but coach to
To help people move from life as it is to life as it should be life as it is to what God has already destined for you you and so when we sit with singles we sit with individuals we sit with couples we sit with families that is our goal
And the one of the most frustrating part of it is the first two sessions because in the first two sessions people show up mother V and they say we need your help but in the first two sessions they don’t want our help they just want to tell on somebody
Else right and so tell Prophet she keep cutting me off I said baby I really heard it couple of times um and so it’s it’s Bishop look if she just listen to me the first time ohy and then she said well we got a Communications problem well we wouldn’t have a Communications problem
If you just listen to me the first time and so we spend if we if it’s five sessions we spend the first two listening to them talking about they don’t want help because all they want to do is for us to fix the other instead of saying help me help me
And so uh uh if we did said it once we said it a thousand times that’s a habituation treat the other person better than they’re treating you if you want something good out of your spouse then you have to sew it first all right right become love stop chasing it say it
Again become love and stop chasing become love and stop chasing in it right my sister just said that’s good you know how many times we hear that’s good do you know how many times we see that’s good and I believe bishop and we know that the first two sessions that the
Presenting problem isn’t the real problem right so what we say you say is the issue really isn’t the issue and because you get stuck on the presenting problem and you want us to fix the Pres presenting problem that’s really not the issue you don’t want the help on the
Issue that we see and what God is telling you so that’s the tension because we’re saying this is the issue you said no if he just would listen to me we’ll be good there some layers to that you see people come to us and people go to Jesus to get the type of
Help that they want instead of what they need they want to feel better they don’t want to be transform I’m G say that for the person who’s writing it down you come to you you come to us and or you go to Jesus to feel better not to be transformed that is
Equivalent to the lame man who who is placed outside of the Gate of the synagogue he gets close enough to feel better but he never goes inside to be transformed I wish I had a witness in the house just get me close enough that I can hear something good but don’t put
Me in front of them where I can be transformed what’s amazing to me is that people got okay with him sitting there begging I don’t want us to be a lame church I don’t want people to sit outside of us and we don’t invite them to come in to be transformed I don’t
Want them sitting outside of us and we just lame church because we think because we good on the inside that people on the outside don’t need the love that we got we can’t be a lame churchmen amen and we got to have the courage to believe that we have the
Authority and power of God to heal how many people passing by didn’t need to be Peter and John he could have been healed 15 years ago yes all right but you got a decision to make are you going to continue to be numb to the things and conditions that
We see or we going to think it’s common that schools get shot at or we going to think it’s coming for black and brown people to get beat by the police are we going to think it’s coming that we are the top of every disease we’ve been numb
At some point we got say this isn’t okay we can change it so we sit our prayers outside of God because we don’t think he going to answer so we pray these lame prayers not really reaching God because we really ain’t got enough Faith to elevate what we asking him

Lies inside of you right now I love this scripture Paul writes in Romans chapter 8 around verse 11 the same power that God used to raise Jesus from the dead is the same power that that lies inside of you so right now anything that’s dead in your life that’s supposed to be alive
You got the power to call it forth get this and anything that’s alive that’s supposed supposed to be dead then you can be like Jesus and speak to that fig tree and curse it dead right now you don’t have to walk around with your head bent over you don’t have to walk around
Being ashamed you don’t have to walk around being disappointed you don’t have to walk around here being powerless you don’t have to walk around here always giving up God has already blessed you with everything that you need Scripture says by his divine power he has already given you everything that you need to
Live righteous so tell your joy to come back tell it to come back yeah walking around sad you ain’t got to be sad Joy is joy tell your Hope to come back you walking around hopeless what is that a hopeless believer that’s that’s like a what oxymoron like what that makes no a
