Lot of you know that I uh had a business called The Savvy servant where I did nonprofit Consulting I taught individuals how to start nonprofits and so um when we when Terence and I got married I had known before you know we were dating and even before we met that
I was going to phase out that business The Savvy servant which goes into today’s tonight’s topic as well anyway so last year I had you know closed the business down by last August it was last July August it had made 12 years that I was in business and so I decided to just
Go ahead and just totally like close out the accounts and everything so this one particular platform where I had a lot of my digital products I thought I closed it down I thought for sure I closed it down I thought for sure I closed it down
And so um last week last Wednesday we woke up and I remembered the account the bank account like we have several bank accounts and so I had remember there was a couple couple accounts I still need to just close out completely like they had like a couple
Of dollars in there and you know it is it just hasn’t been on the calendar where I just can go and go to the locate to the bank to the branch and just have them just close out the account but this particular account I was like okay I
Really need to just go ahead and close out this account so I went online that morning Wednesday morning when we woke up because that’s what I do soon as I get up after we prayed up before my feet hit the floor I check all of our
Accounts like I will make sure I want to know because I’m a finance person that’s my career um I look at where money is moving and where it’s not moving and all of that so I was looking at all of the accounts and I just happened to go in
That account just to remind myself that I need to close that account out went into that account and it was almost $600 in there and I was like where is this money coming from like where is this money coming from and so um come to find out that the platform
Where these digital products were I hadn’t closed it out and somebody two people had bought two products and it ended up you know the the plat that platform ended up paying me out um but I say this to say that every single morning Terence and I pray Lord release
Unexpected money to US release and that goes with Proverbs 13 where it says says the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the just so there is a transfer of wealth so make sure that you pray every single morning whatever belongs to US release it Lord whatever belongs to me
Release it if it’s money that’s give us money that we don’t know about give us unexpected Money release it and so that’s what we have been praying we pray that every day but that was a testament like this is just another way God is answering prayers so um so yes so um so
I just wanted to give y’all that testimony but also um because that um because I realized that we’re Terence and I have been talking about um in the next couple of months me doing a workshop for for the women um and so I have been thinking about that and I
Firmly believe that while you’re waiting you should be serving and so that was one way of me bringing my expertise of nonprofit management and development just over here no longer The Savvy servant that’s no longer my business but bringing some of those skill sets over here where it can help some of our

Want to get that out there um but tonight’s topic baby we’ve been waiting to do this topic we’ve been trying to do this topic um for a long time and it’s about identity and an identity crisis may be blocking you from your soulmate a lot of people you know are going around
Saying Who Am I who Am I who am I so how are we going to talk about this good evening Z what’s good seeing you on Saturday and shout out to all the people who caught the replay who gave us all everybody who gave us great feedback um
Thank you all thank you thank you thank you um but tonight um we talking about identity yes yes identity and but before I go into identity though I want to share something with you guys um we did a video I think it was last Saturday no
Was last Tuesday Tuesday and we used the same scriptures that we’re going to use today but last Tuesday we came from a position of uh of a lack where the the the devil came at us come at us as if we’re lacking something that’s one of
The ways he get to us is to convince us that we’re lacking in some some way fashion or form okay but this today we’re going to use the same scriptures because we mentioned last Tuesday that there are other ways those scriptures also be interpreted and this is one of
Those other ways and this is by you not knowing who you are you’re not knowing what your identity is so what I want to do right quick before we go any further is share you with you those scriptures that we that we came from last week and what we’re coming from tonight and
Talking about uh your identity so and this is coming from Genesis uh 3: 1-5 okay and it says now the serer was more crafty than any of the wild animals in uh any of the wild animals the Lord God had made he said to the woman did God really say You
Must not eat from from any tree in the garden the woman said to the serpent we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden but God did say you must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden and you and you
Must not touch it or you will die you will not certainly die um he said you will not certainly die the serpent said to the woman for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God knowing good and evil
Now that’s the same scriptures we used last week okay and we talked then about him coming at Eve basically telling her she was lacking something okay which made the the the fruit of that tree more appealing to her this week tonight we’re going to talk about these same scriptures but him
Coming at her from she not knowing her identity especially when God had already told her a chapter before in Genesis 1 that she was made in His image yes so the enemy turned turned it around and made her question her own identity and once the enemy can make you separate
From God and not see your identity in him he got you yes CU that’s one of the ways that he tricks us into allow him in it’s just got div he’s going to do he’s got to divide and the one thing he’s going to do is take God’s words and he’s
Gon to try to twist the meaning of them to get you to trip up and allow him in and once you have doubt and you allow him in then he’s gonna take it and run with it and that’s exactly what he did with Eve so have you ever felt like have
You ever questioned who you were oh yeah oh yeah absolutely absolutely with me it it came when I was separated from my first marriage you know as you going through those things um as my divorce was Final I had to redefine who I was as a matter of fact uh for those
That was on our Workshop I think you read in my profile that I had that there was a um there was something I put in there on I was redefining myself so I was I was aware of who I was when it comes to me really not knowing who I was
So what I wanted to do was find out what type of man I wanted to be how I wanted to evolve from that first relationship and make and become better so if there was going to be another relationship I would be somebody that’s going to bring something to that relationship that was
Different and more mature and more evolved than the first one yeah um but I also wanted to know what I was going to stand for you know what my values was going to be and what I wanted to share with that next person so is it safe to
Say your relationship with Christ was not yeah it was there it was there but it was growing it was evolving because again I came from a different world I just got out of the military my whole mindset was different okay you know so I had to learn how to actually be back in
The civilian world and be a civilian my whole world was you know shooting and throwing grenades and Claymore mines and you know that type of thing so me trying to get back in the everyday world with actual people and talking to people I had to learn how to do that and
Communicate and and and that type of deal so yeah I I had to start over from scratch and say Lord help me rebuild who you created me to build right who you created me to be yeah I think identity I don’t I don’t think I ever question who I was and that’s only
Because and it could be be a negative effect it could be because I’m so used to change because I’ve had um impact and loss from an early age from a you know is always so I’ve never um got caught um I never got attached that’s what I
Should say I’ve never gotten attached to too many things because I always felt like I was always on the move everything was constantly changing so by the time I did get to Embrace something um it was you know it was time to let go and move on so I never really saw I
Never questioned my identity and I never um uh and and then when I got older I got more mature in Christ I started to learn that my identity is in him one of the things one of the I I never forget I heard um a sermon years ago um where
Talks about what talked about they were saying um talking about about um um gender and how a lot of you know a lot of um um um like homosexuality how a lot of homosexuals say that they are that they were born you know the way they are and
That is true that could be true because um I Heard the sermon it says that we’re born into sin we’re literally born into a world where we get from sometimes from the womb our identity is challenged and and accomplished and conquered from even from the W we’re born into um a world
That is going to tell us what I our identity hey Joy Joy that will tell us who our identity is and what our identity is and so um so the enemy is very very cunning um very cunning he will try he want you to qu he wants to question your identity
From as early as possible he wants to make you separate from God so that you don’t know your image in God and it is a very dangerous thing for the sake of this live and um this platform when we don’t know our identity and even as you were going through your
Redefining you know because I could imagine like you were one person with your Ex-wife which is that’s even like even being defined which we’ll talk about even defined through your spouse is even we’re not supposed to be doing but you had defined yourself as a family person as a as a yeah my kids was was taken from me and I wasn’t able to see
Them every day and put them in the bed and take them to school and do those things that I did every day that that messed with my that messed so I had to read you know figure out okay how how am I going to learn from this and grow from
This and still figure out where my position is as their father and do the thing and I say they because I had I got twins so in in order to figure out how I was going to fit into that but still know who I was and what I was going to
Stand for with my new life going forward right and so getting caught up and I can’t even imagine um and and I I got tons of family and friends but because I’m a Loner I’ve always been a loner um again it was not hard for me
To I I didn’t it didn’t mess with my identity like my identity I don’t feel like that was an issue now insecurity is one thing but identity wasn’t like I felt like I know Jill even if it wasn’t I need to work on some things I felt
Like I’ve always known I was very self-aware very self assured of myself but for the sake of this platform what I was um saying is that sometimes for those who are questioning their identity and not we’re not saying identity as far as sexuality or anything we’re just saying just want to know who
Am I what’s my purpose that can block you from your soulmate yes and I will say this although I was redefining my identity I I I’ve never in my life been insecure about me so I’ve never worried about when I went into things I already knew you know that I
Was a leader I knew that you know my confidence in myself was always there it was just making sure I knew who I was with my morals my values what what I was going to stand for yeah but um yeah so we have some things tonight that you
Know these things here can possibly yeah you know be prolonging right you finding yourself soulmate or learning so yeah so the lack of well a well defined personal identity especially if it’s not aligned with god um Can impact um um your search and your desire for your soulmate and
This is how and why yes so number one first one is uh an unclear personal values and goals you know just not knowing what you want yeah we say it all the time yeah yeah I was to say that y’all heard it all the time when people say you know what do you
Want and most people will say I don’t know what I want but I know what I don’t want and then that’s what they that’s what they give rather than say what they want they say what they don’t want yeah and the Bible clearly tells us what our
Personal um what our character should be what our what we should put our value at um who we are which what we should be thinking on the Bible clearly tells us these these things and if we’re not one and aligned with um with um with with
God and if we’re not totally align with his perfect will and understanding who he is and and knowing the knowledge of God and understand the knowledge of God we um we won’t know what we want um and so that right there could block absolutely it can block who who it is
Not knowing your identity would also make it difficult in establishing deep connection yeah because you know what when you don’t know who you are um you can’t have those um you can’t be vulnerable you can’t and and I’m you know and I used yeah th
Those that would tell me about if I was dating when I was dating and I would have like these conversations with these guys if it was surfac I couldn’t we can’t and even with girlfriends if I don’t have if we can’t be if it’s that surface type of
Conversation I I can’t there don’t have small talk I I can’t we can’t I know it’s not going to work like like there has to be a sense of vulnerability um with my relationships whether there’s female friendships whether it’s my sisters where it’s my you know of course my husband like if we
Can’t have those deep Vulnerable where I understand your fears I understand your lacks I and we communicate about it I understand your flaws and you understand my flaws and my fears and my insecurities and my slip ups and my oops and my where I want to be better where I am you know if you if
You’re unable to do that even with yourself you’re never going to be able to do it with someone else yeah and you know and going through since we’ve gotten our platform and done so many videos the one thing that I’ve learned that is important to women is uh
When you just said about being vulnerable yeah you know if if from what I’ve learned just from us talking and going through all the the topics we’ve been talking about you know if a woman can’t be vulnerable with a guy and feel safe safe in her vulnerability then you know it ain’t
Gonna work yeah um and to be and him to be able to give you that safe space but just going into it if you’re going into it timid and not sure of who you are who in your identity and not and you can’t even open up because just because you
Can’t open up not have to do with anybody else but because you’re afraid to open up or share that is a block and that and that is enough that even even from um that projection which we’ll talk about projection but that projection it can prevent somebody from even attracted um
Um um what’s the word um what’s the word um even approaching you that can even stop someone from even they could feel like you’re going to be surfaced or you’re going to be very like you know um but yeah that deep connection when you on
The phone and you could be on the phone for hours and you know you get those things when we were on the phone all night long and it’s like because you’re every you’re every little bit you’re opening up but if you had unable to do
That yeah right uh the next one is you know if you don’t know your identity you can have a you know you can be attracted to people that are incompatible with you y and that right there’s a problem in itself y um it’s just going to cause more problems yep
Um I remember I was watching before we got married I used to love watching the show Married at First Sight and I remember there was a episode um they were in Chicago I don’t know if y’all watched this show but they were in Chicago and it was a couple um
And they had gotten married the couple of course had gotten married of course they didn’t know each other because that’s what the premise of the show is they had gotten married and then um they had decided that they were going to stay together so they did the post filming of
Them you know going through their marriage or whatever or maybe it was a part where after they came from the honeymoon they have yeah that’s what it was after they came from the honeymoon they were now living together and I never forget the girl started just
Crying one t time what just one day the guy came home from work and the the wife just started crying and he was like like what did I do like I don’t understand and she said you don’t see me you just don’t see me and I kept saying what does
That mean when you don’t like I just that was so new to me and she kept say you don’t see me and but now I understand like when you are not with the like if I’m in the image of you and you’re in the image of me because that’s
What they you know that’s what it’s supposed to be we’re not going to see each other we I mean we we we see each other but if I’m not in the image of you and you’re not for me we won’t see each other and I think now I understand what
She was saying you don’t see me and that if you don’t know your identity if you don’t know who you are then you won’t be able to see yourself in the other person and of course the other person won’t be able to see you so but that that episode
Out of and I’ve watched just about all of the cities that one episode from that City always stuck out to me she always said you don’t see me and now not understand but yeah that can end up making you incompatible um or being attracted and being with someone who
You’re not really compatible with cool another thing that if you don’t know your identity you be uh the vulnerability to external influences you know like peer pressure like family opinions like Society Society uh expect and so for so you know you’re subject to those things because
You still don’t know who you are okay it’s it’s funny because it’s almost like when you hear somebody say if you don’t stand for something you’ll fault for anything so so we need to stay what numbers this number four we need to stay here for a
Moment okay this is a deep one because I think we both we both have testimonies where we were influenced by this this was a part of we have personal testimonies when you don’t know your identity you will identify with external things um for me it could have been the Savvy
Servant I could have been so caught up in the Savvy servant because it was a brand I made this brand and and if I would have been financially driven or or success driven how dare you come in between me and what I’ve built you will not come in
Between me and The Savvy ser and this is what I built something told me before like a year or a few months before I met you before we something says start fading out that that image start fading out but you also just a couple of months
Ago you were I was very shocked that you told me that you was going to stop doing something what what was it I stopped um wearing my military stuff because everybody recognized me as as a marine and and what I didn’t want was to start acknowledging myself or identifying as a
Marine more than I was identifying as a child of God so I stopped wearing and I still wear some of it but I don’t wear it to work you know I used to wear hats to work I used to wearing when we go out
To eat if we went walking all the time I always had military stuff on now I don’t wear them nowhere close as much as I used to because I don’t want that identity to be stuck with the military or with any other organization that I’ve ever been Associated to in the past I’d
Rather be Associated as a child of God let me tell you something that when Terrence would wear that his military his veteran gear military when I tell you and we talked about benefits last week and this that’s the difference that’s how the trick of the enemy is
Because he got us all like last week we talked about the same thing that was a benefit that this week it is not a benefit we would go to restaurants we would get the biggest M biggest respect one time we went to a restaurant and next to our table was a
Table filled with bikers who were clearly rednecks oh my God I clearly one of them had a sign on it that said um that he had a um they had Confederate flags a big Confederate flags on it they were biker Club F clearly and at first when the lady sat
Us at the table next to them at first I wanted to say you know because I’m still getting used to the South this North Carolina it’s a little yeah it ain’t for the faint of heart faint of heart and that’s the only thing that bugs me but I’m like okay we’re in
A blue portion of this state hopefully but anyway I when she sat us when she sat us um down I started to say can you move us because that’s how uncomfortable I was feeling Terence had on his Marines hat she sat us at the table and we
Ate and they got up we I think we had just gotten our food and they got up and was about to leave and when they were about to leave one of the guys came to Terrence put his hand on his shoulder and said sir I honor you thank you for your
Service and then he went on to tell Terence tell us about his father father father his whole family heritage of doing military service yes and and it’s funny because it’s funny to me because when we first met and we first started going out and I was getting this
Attention she didn’t know because she’d never been a part of anything like this she was like do people come up to you all the time and I was like yep like just I told whenever we go eat just be prepared that we might be there longer than usual depending on who W who
Approaches me and yeah it it was almost it’s almost like a celebrity like like like just sir thank you like kids one one little boy just out of nowhere sir thank you for your like and it’s like I’m I wasn’t used to that because I mean we don’t have that many military people
In in my family but I wasn’t used to it but but we say that to say is that not only did he have to stop that that that’s not his identity it had to really sto me too because I would i’ be like before we go out to eat get your hat get
Your stuff like I was starting to identify with that even we ain’t even G to talk about government jobs like are you like the benefits like are you a military wife are you a wife of a veteran like getting those preferences and but I had to even stop myself from identifying as
That so many people even I had to stop myself from being so caught up in HBCU I went to HBCU in undergrad and I worked at a HBCU for for quite amount of years and I was going to say that uh fraternities fraternities and sororities and sororities you are identifying with
That because you don’t have your own identity yes you have no idea sometimes with the covenants that you’re coming under within those organizations just to be a part of them yeah and that can separate you from God prevent you from from benefiting from what everything God has promised you because you’re in
Another Covenant you’re in another Covenant and you’re identifying and aligning with and it’s really like idolatry it’s idolatry um it could be it also goes how this is how the enemy has us because um I could have been caught up too as far as with the Savvy servant
With my business because now you hear a lot of people say um um I will not shrink for him like I built this big brand and I you know I’m making all this money I’m this realtor and I’m a whatever the businesses um you know and
And I got all of this stuff and I’m not going to shrink for any old man you becom an align black lives right black lives matter movement becoming a that becomes your idea we a even want to talk about even coming out in alignment with
Our we it’s one thing to be what we are as far as race but it’s another thing to wear it as like our identity like that is all we are but but that yeah like we’re just just black that is all we are and it becomes idolatry and it blocks mean some
People was like I don’t you know okay well I don’t want to um the natural hair movement you’re absolutely right it becomes your identity yeah you it becomes your identity yeah so you have to be careful when when you’re searching for that identity what you are being
Attached to and what you are allowing yourself to fall in under being a wife becomes your identity I’m his wife I’m Mrs Smith I’m a wife I’m a wife that becomes your identity like no no that’s idolatry like that cannot be your if we if first of all if my identity was not
In him this wouldn’t work at all it just wouldn’t work it won’t work so yeah um yeah that that external influences and we all are vulnerable to it and we’re all to it Suess yes uh some people I I I’m telling you we can say a minute on this let me just
Make this point I’ve heard people saying I’ve heard a girlfriend who was married to a pastor say she said she was married to the pastor she was married to the bishop but she never knew who he was as a man she was identifying as a first
Lady she loved being a first lady that was her identity and you know you’re starting to see a lot you’re starting to see a lot of marriages from professional athletes within six months after they retire get divorced because their wives are used to being married but them not
Being home because their season keeps them on the road so they get the identity of running everything and then when the offseason comes or they retire go home now they’re home every day wife finds out she don’t like to do and she was also identifying with the NBA player
You know how um what’s her name said it um um Will Smith’s ex-wife said it she said I was married to The Fresh Prince but Jada is married to Will Smith so there is so you get you get caught up in the identity um and it’s because if you
Don’t know your identity you gonna fall for somebody else’s identity yep what wases that say it says yes it goes the other way too saying single yeah you get you’re identified I’m I’m single and I’m good um you know you get caught up in that Identity or even some people get I
Caught up in I’m single and I’ll never be married and they identify with just being single you’re absolutely right absolutely absolutely so the next way uh you can be affected is you know low self-esteem yep feeling Unworthy of a good spouse and so if you don’t know
Your identity you will um um you know you won’t you know you’ll see a good man or a good woman and you can’t identify you don’t have the security within yourself to be able to identify that I’m with and I want to add something to this too I think when it
Comes to loow self-esteem and insecurities I would say even not forgiving yourself yeah a lot of times we don’t forgive ourselves and fall in this to where you don’t allow yourself because you say you don’t deserve it like she was just saying you don’t deserve a good spouse well a part of
That might be because you you’re holding yourself contempt of something that you went through in the past and you just haven’t letting yourself uh heal from that and and you keeping yourself prisoner which also goes back to um the vulnerab vulnerability part the um the Deep connection because that part that
Wound is is um blocked up you’re not letting yourself even in to heal um but yeah it it goes back to um it could be low self-esteem and insecurity not we were sharing on the webinar um how when I saw terence’s profile and all of his pictures you know he looked um
Astute and with look good with suit and a tie and and and he even said in his profile he even said um you know the woman gota be confident you know um because I work around a lot of women and you know she got to be confident within
Herself and I looked at that I was like I’m up for the challenge baby yes we can do this yes we want to do this um and so yeah um but yeah and even that’s a good point because even you weren’t even not even not even caught up in that identity
That successful businessman that like that wasn’t you didn’t even get caught up in that yeah I’m I’m just the country boy you know at heart that’s all it is just a simple country and I probably that’s what I saw I saw I saw beyond the suit I
Saw beyond the suit and Tide I saw Beyond and I saw like I saw I saw Terry not Terrence I saw Terry as your family calls you I saw Terry so but yeah so the next one is um a fear of commitment yeah which uh having a a a good
Self-identity it um you have to have a level of understanding Assurance which goes back to what we just said um and a fear of commit um if you don’t who you’ll be really reluctant to uh connect with someone you’re always question it you always take baby steps you always if
You’re not sure yeah the next one is uh the one that you alluded to earlier which is uh projection and idolization iation idealizing yeah yeah yeah um uh which also overlooks everything is is you’re idolizing and you’re projecting and everything is about other than what you are um
Everything is about what that other thing is or what you know yeah some you can catch yourself you can find yourself falling into this cheerleader type position to where you’re always you know uplifting or bragging about what somebody else is doing but you’re but you’re not living you’re you’re kind of
Watching through somebody else’s lenses which I think that’s where that term um uh what’s that syndrome that everybody talk about what’s that what’s that syndrome y’all what’s that syndrome um but it’s a new term something syndrome impostor syndrome where everybody talks about I think that’s where impostor syndrome
Well people you’re questioning am I really this person am I really that and well social media you got a whole lot of people you know claiming to be something on social media and then when you meet them you find out there’s somebody imposter yes somebody totally different
Yes and yeah and social media will make think about the U the people that was on the workshop you know how uh one of them said that um how she met the guy but he wasn’t the height that he said was yeah you know so it’s just people

That God told us to do what one of the first things that he did was create if he said we’re Made In His Image if we’re not in a place in our lives where we’re creating something we’re missing it we’re missing a big part of our purpose if we’re not
Creating and so I believe the reason why the family fell um over the last 40 years is because the woman was taken I personally believe this the woman was taken out of the home you know when the woman was in the home she was creating through making clothes through cooking
Through you know what doing those things in the home she was creative as soon as we came out of the home all hell started to break loose and so if we don’t get to a place of create creating we going to automatically feel disconnected from God so if you’re not
Operating in your god-given purpose through your gifts talents and skills and creating things I don’t care if it’s writing writing a book I don’t care if it’s making vegan food if it’s drawing if it’s doing makeup if you’re not being creative you’re automatically going to feel separate from
God so Genesis 1 through3 really gives us a good indication of how we ought to be living through God and how he want us to live and what he’s given us to live and then of course Jesus had to come in in the in the four gospels he had to

Look at movies that are bible-based and I look for the the meaning even if we looked at a a comedy show I look for the meaning of that show versus laughing at every single joke I laugh at the joke but I’m looking for whatever the the meaning with the message was from that
Event whether it’s a cartoon or whatever it is I’m looking at I’m always searching for the message yeah um also um if you haven’t done this already go to our website and download uh the the 20 prayers we prayed when we were single some of the prayers
Those are some of the prayers but they’re all based on a scripture a particular scripture and so um that will um give you an indication or how it could start you off with your prayer life because when you pray you should always pray the word and one scripture
In particular that you should that I stood on when I was single is no good thing will he withhold from you if you walk up right before him so I used to always say Lord you said no good thing will you will hold for me if I walk up
Right before you no good thing that’s what your word says and so pray the word um learn the word and then so that you could be able to pray the word because the word cannot return void mantras I can’t guarantee you about mantras and people’s little sayings you know I don’t
Know what they gonna return but I know the word will not return void if he said it he gonna do it yeah you know a lot of people always talk about you hear people say um you know um faith comes by hearing the word well there in order for
Us to get the promises that God has for us is it’s a um what’s the word I’m looking for for it’s there’s something you have to do okay God is going to tell you what his word is then he’s going to say it’s a condition it’s a condition so you have
To do this before you receive what I just said yes and once you do this my word never returns void and empty so I’m going to give you what I promised because you did what the condition was yes so his love is unconditional but his some of his promises are conditional so
A lot of people will sit there and read a part of that and read what the promise was but they stopped and they don’t get the they don’t continue reading and saying oh but in order to receive this I have to do XYZ because the scripture
