It was a nice showing here. You had civic groups, fraternities, sororities, families all coming out here to honor Doctor King
Celebrating his life, his contributions and his impacts on our community. I met several people who have made this an annual event with their family, and for some, this was the first MLK parade. This parade started at the state Capitol going down Fayetteville Street. People holding signs and chanting. They leave motivated this afternoon
And challenging each other to continue the work of Doctor King to create a beloved community. We had to be given rights, and I take that very serious because, you know, I had to be given something that other people were born into. So I take that more serious now, and I stand on
That. So I challenge all young brothers out here to once again be strong black men that you were born to be kings started off walking these marches back in the 60s, and you know, he came out here when times were a lot different. So it’s amazing for us to have the opportunities
