Benefited from it as much as the country I come from Germany it was mainly the United States that gave Germany a chance after we set the world on fire in the middle of the last century we seized that chance but without the United States the free and Democratic Germany I am privileged to

Live in would not have been possible in my family there was a reoccurring phrase and it was when the Americans came everything became good I heard this sentence from my grandmother who along with several small children had no roof over her head after the war and did not

Know how they were going to survive the next few days I heard this sentence from my father who as a post-war child had to experience what hunger meant I heard this sentence from my grandfather who was taken as an American prisoner of war

At the age of 19 and told me that it was the best thing that could have happened to him because he was treated with decency even respect then when the Communists built a wall through the middle of my country separating amilies from one day to the next President

Kennedy came and gave us hope with his legendary speech in Berlin when he said in German Berlin years later it was President Reagan who showed the world and the German people that America never lost faith in Freedom and continued to give us support with his demand Mr Gorbachev tear down this wall every

Child in Germany knows this sentence we always knew we were not alone because we had a reliable friend the United States of America when the Americans came everything became good as mentioned I only knew this sentence from stories told by my family yet then in 1989 the wall fell in Berlin

We were in each other’s arms with happiness because we realized that a miracle had happened we feverishly awaited ated reunification and hoped with all our hearts that it would happen many politicians in other countries were skeptical about the reunification of Germany who could blame them after Germany’s Inglorious history yet it was

The Americans again this time President George HW Bush and Secretary of State James Baker who stood by us and advocated a United free Germany suddenly it was I who said when the americ Americans came everything became good and now I stand here before you as Sovereign Grand commander of the Supreme

Council for Germany yet above all I stand before you as your brother I wish to thank this great nation when Freemason George Washington laid the foundation stone for the capital building in 1793 America set the stage for other stones to be torn down 200 years later

The stones of the Berlin Wall never was the message of Freedom stronger than at that moment for this reason I come with a special gift a piece of the Berlin Wall it is an original Stone of the wall that fell to restore Freedom it is now
