1939 the fraternity first recognized judge William Hasty since then the award has recognized countless leaders like Jackie Robinson and Vernon Jordan it has honored the courage of civil rights Champions like Martin Luther King Junior and th Good Marshall celebrated the literary skills of Lauren hansbury and La the political prowess of Jesse
Jackson Senator Edward Brook and may Keisha Lance bottoms at the 2023 leadership conference in the Bahamas the fraternity bestowed one of omega’s highest honors to AA B asamoa selected locally by gamma chapter and nominated to the international committee by the first district Miss asamoa was recognized as its International citizen of the Year
Miss asamoa was proclaimed the international citizen of the year for her impressive record of sparking change as a lifelong public servant and impact strategist name one of the most influential black people in the world by Ebony magazine she is known globally as the C Crown act champion and an architect of history-making policy
