In your life I believe in giving you exactly what you want but last year God opened this door to fishing I just started fly fishing and and I started just God gave me favor and favor ain’t fair I catch really big fish I I Colorado has this thing called Master Angler Awards and
And basically it’s for really big fish they’re not State records but they’re really big fish I got 18 Master Angler Awards in eight different trout species now come on Jesus let it increase but I say that because can I tell you something I found out that
There are people that are hurting in the streams in the creeks in the rivers and in the lakes that I cannot wait for them to walk in a building to have an encounter with Jesus I remember when Jesus told it that he told this story of

Leave until after 2:30 that day the pastor looked at me and he said man God’s doing something a church that ran about 250 we extended the meetings and we were running about 6 to 700 people every night standing room only but I’ll never forget there was a particular Tuesday
Night because let me explain something when the LW start getting saved they don’t know how to act saved they’re not going to act like they they don’t know what we’re they’re supposed to do they don’t know they’re supposed to sit down and be quiet we want the lost but we want them
To act saved I’m preaching on a Tuesday night just the the reasons why Jesus came and died just just scriptural gospel Pastor Joel and out of the very back of this of this meeting room packed a woman stands up and says how do you repent for the things that you don’t even remember
And I looked at her and I said here’s the reality stop trying to figure out what you need to lay down at the feet of Jesus and Just Surrender everything I said we trying to figure out what what Jesus really wants when in reality it’s not about what we need to
Repent for he didn’t die just so that we could get forgiven of our sins he wants our life so come to him being willing to say God I give you everything the things I remember the things I don’t remember the things I want the things I don’t
Want I I give it all to you she stands up still and she says but what what about the things that you don’t want to give to him and I’m walking down the Pew I’m walking down the the road looking at her and all of a sudden I
Catch glimpse of this gentleman now this is standing room only I mean there’s no Open Spaces except for one row and there is a man who has tattoos literally everywhere I think his eyeballs are tattooed and there is about eight foot between him and the next
People and all of the sudden when she said how do you repent for the things that you don’t want to give up or you don’t know if you could give up all of a sudden he leans in and I said here’s the reality we hinder God by trying to figure out
Whether or not we can serve him I said the day I gave my life to Jesus I didn’t know I if I could live for Jesus the next day I said but I knew I couldn’t live without him that day and I said so I came to him surrendered absolutely everything in my
Life and didn’t close any doors didn’t hide anything just said God all of me is now all of yours and whatever it looks like I don’t know what it’s going to sound like feel like God I don’t know if I can do this but God I need your help I
Surrender everything to you I said stop trying to figure out whether or what God wants and what you don’t want to give just give it all to him and then all of a sudden she says but these are exact words I don’t want to give her up I’m in love with
Her and I said then it’s not God that’s hindering it’s you you’re the one that’s put a bumper and said God you can have everything but this you know how many times we do that in our life it may not be a relationship it may
Not be drugs it may be an attitude it may be unforgiveness we say God you can have everything but this and at that moment I’m no longer just looking at her I’m looking at this guy sitting on on the almost the very back row and and
Tears are running down his face and I said here’s the thing either you come and surrender everything or you can’t surrender anything that gave an altar call that night and I watched the young lady they asked the questions the young lady that she was referring to literally climb
Over the pews and run to the Altar and right behind her was this gentleman and he literally just kind of slowly came and he fell down on his knees and he just put his hands out and he was just sobbing just weeping and I went and prayed for this young
Lady and then I went and prayed for him and I realized that there was an area on his head that was not tattooed it was almost like it was every tattoo was marked yet this particular place was was saying more than what his tattoos were saying
And there was an open there was pure skin that had no tattoo and it said MS13 now if you don’t know anything about the MS-13 the MS-13 is one of the most brutal dangerous gangs in the world from Al Salvador and here’s this man laying just
Kneeling at the altar and I put my hand right I’m just claiming that territory put my hand right on his head and and he just sobbing just literally just sobbing afterwards he stands up and he has this broken accent and and and he’s from El Salvador and he said these words he said
They will kill me for what I just did he said you don’t understand I live in their house I eat their food I drive their car I spend their money he said my family lives in El Salvador he said they get protection and they get provision
Because of them and he said they will kill me for what I just did I said you don’t know that I said but in thinking that they may kill you and you still did it shows me how desperate you really were and he says but I got a question for
You I’ve never felt peace like I feel right now is this Jesus he said’ I’ve heard about him but I can’t say that I’ve ever known him I want to preach to you a message called who do you say that I am because every single one of us in
This room we hinder God because of what we think God is so Isaiah 9: 6 says this for unto us a child is born unto us a son is given and on and the government will rest upon his shoulders and his name will be called wonderful counselor Mighty God
Everlasting father and Prince of Peace Mark 8: 27- 29 says this now Jesus and his disciples went out to the towns of cesaria Philippi and on the road he asked his disciples saying to them who do men say that I am so they answered John the Baptist but
Some say Elijah and others one of the prophets but he then turned to them and said to them but who do you say that I am Peter answered and said to him you are the Christ I want you to close your eyes for a moment and I want you to go
To that place where decisions are made and before we go any further I want want us to put a declaration and give God an opportunity to speak to us not just allowing a man to share his opinion or his advice but truly for you to just
Open up your life and say God I want you to speak to me and if you’re here and you want God to speak directly to you I want you to raise both hands towards heaven with your eyes closed all over this place if you’re ready for God to speak to
You with your hands raised I want you to pray this prayer with me every person that’s willing that wants God to speak to him say this me say Jesus come on say it like you mean it say Jesus Jesus today is my day speak to me speak and
Transform Me by Your Word give me eyes to see ears to hear and a heart and a mind heart that’s ready willing and able to believe and receive every word that you would speak into our existence we give you full permission full permission and access to
Do what only you can do but from this moment on you have my attention you have my permission so have your way in Jesus name everyone said amen amen ever since Jesus was born people have tried to figure out who he was let’s be honest ever since that we
First heard of Jesus ourselves and Jesus has come into our life or that name has come into our life or that character has come into our life we have been trying to figure out who he is see our image of Jesus often changes by what we’re going through and the type of day
We’re having or how emotionally we feel at that moment one day we Proclaim Jesus as as a friend one day we Proclaim Jesus as Savior one day we Proclaim Jesus as faithful but then there’s other days that we Proclaim and say Jesus don’t you care how many have had of those days
Even the disciples that are in a boat they’re going through a storm and Jesus is asleep at the bow of the boat and because of this storm causing the wind to cause the waves to come into the boat and the boat’s beginning to sink and fear and uncertainty and anxiety and
Worry is be and frat is beginning to consume them they go and wake up Jesus and they wake him up here’s Jesus they’ve seen Jesus do Miracles after miracle they they have an identity they they have an understanding of who they who he is but they wake him up and they
Say don’t you care that we’re perishing I think a lot of us base our understanding on of Jesus solely on how we feel but I want to change the way we think today see in those days the polls were split some said Jesus was Emanuel will
God With Us While others said he was be elot most had an opinion of his identity depending on their own personal encounter with him see how how we see Jesus will’ll be determined by who we were before we met him what happened when we met him and how we responded to
Him after we met him those that have been forgiven much love much and there are many people even here today who have been around Jesus and the things of Jesus and still don’t truly know who he is but today May it change everything as we are introduce to a
Greater understanding of who he really is our text is found in a very intense time for Jesus there’s an overwhelming heaviness on him for this unfathomable day approaching emotions are on high weariness is set in so much to do so many needs so many hurting people so many lost and searching Souls Jesus
Understood the urgency of the hour of this event I don’t know if you know this that when Jesus asked the disciples who do people say that I am was literally 6 months until his crucifixion he basically knew I have 6 months left to walk with them but then all of a sudden something
Happened the moment had come the reason that Jesus really was here the reason he came to Earth and arri had arrived he desired people to know him did you know that Jesus yes came to die on a cross and we look at what is that the cross is
Why Jesus came but the real reason that Jesus came was that that his creation his sons and daughters could know him know the father walk with him again because ever since sin entered the Earth man had been separated from God and Jesus was coming to bridge that Gap so
That men could walk with God again so he asked this question who do people say that I am see he did not ask them to reaffirm him but he did not need them to build his confidence but instead to reconfirm them and their confidence by establishing this truth of who he was to
Them their dep of understand and understanding of Jesus up to this point was that Jesus was healer deliverer provider friend Helper but they did not know him as an all-sufficient savior so their knowledge of Jesus was incomplete Jesus came so that we could fully know him so Jesus asked them who
Do they say that I am that I the son of of man him what are people saying about me see there were a lot of talk about Jesus in those days the blind saw Jesus as the son of David the unclean saw Jesus as touchable the children saw
Jesus as approachable the masses saw Jesus as inspiring the desperate saw Jesus as hope the Lost saw Jesus as the way the sick saw Jesus as healer the hungry saw Jesus as provider the lonely saw Jesus as friend but the religious saw Jesus as a threat to their traditions
Let’s go back 700 years before the Cradle rocked before the star burned before the wise men gave their gifts before the Angels sing their sang their songs Isaiah dipped his prophetic pen into inspired ink walking in the past looking to the Future and giving good news for the present Isaiah wrote about
The greatest single event in all of human history that would literally split and separate time the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ Isaiah tells us while under the guidance of the Holy Spirit so that no one could should misunderstand from that moment forward as Isaiah proclaims
Who Jesus is the first thing that you must understand that Isaiah speaks of is Jesus was human Isaiah said For unto us a child is born this speaks of the humanity of Jesus Jesus was born the son of man Jesus was born of an Earthly mother put
On human F flesh and lived 33 years on Earth as a man let me tell you what this means Jesus walked like a man Jesus talked like a man Jesus thought like a man Jesus had feelings like a man Jesus ate like a man Jesus had emotions like a
Man Jesus Hurt Like a Man Jesus was tempted like a man Jesus hungered like a man Jesus thirsted like a man Jesus got tired like a man Jesus suffered like a man Jesus died like a man and Jesus was buried like a man you see when he put on human flesh
He knew from that moment on what you and I would be feeling and go through and every feeling that you could ever feel he had every everything that you could ever face he face this was what the writer of Hebrews said in Hebrews 4:15 the high priest of ours he faced all the
Same testings as we do yet he did not sin you know what I found out is we use Jesus as an excuse to continue to live the way we’ve always lived instead of embracing who Jesus is and helping us to overcome what we’ve always done if Jesus could overcome
Sin do we not think or realize that Jesus can help us overcome sin Jesus was human but Jesus was also holy Isaiah said For unto us a child is born unto us a son is given the phrase a child is born speaks of the humanity of
Jesus but the phrase a son is given speaks of the deity of Jesus as a child he is the son of man as a son he is the Son of God as a child he helps us to understand his Earthly be Beginnings as a son he helps us understand his eternal
Promise as a child he is born to live with us as a son he was given to die for us so that we could live eternally with him a child is brought into a son was sent forth from yes Jesus was a was born of an Earthly mother but he was given by
A heavenly father Jesus has royal blood flowing through his veins that of his Heavenly Father see Isaiah 7:4 14 therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call him Emmanuel Jesus was so human that he
Could be born in a stable but he was so Divine that Angels had to come and announce his birth Jesus was so human that he had he could get tired and lay down in a boat while crossing the Sea of Galilee but he was so Divine that he
Could speak to the storm and cause the winds to lose their breath Jesus was so human that he could go to the mountain and pray all night but he was so Divine that he was the one who spoke to the Earth’s foundations and spoke the mountains to come forth Jesus was so
Human that he could weep at the graves of Lazarus but he was so Divine that he could call Lazarus from the the the dead see Jesus was so human that he could die on a cross but he was so Divine that he could come back to life and Conquer
Death hell and the grave but today it’s not just about the nature of Jesus it is about the name there’s something Supernatural about his name Beloved notice what Isaiah said and his name shall be called a single name cannot describe him but may I remind that God first revealed himself as God
And then continued to reveal other names based on his nature these names were shared because it was impossible to reveal himself and his nature in one single name for example in Genesis 1:1 he revealed himself as God the name speaks of the mighty of the might of God
In the beginning he revealed himself as a god of Might Authority power and Supremacy and then demonstrated his might in the creation of the heavens and the Earth although the name God is very inform ative and inspiring the name says nothing about him being a god of love a
God of Mercy a god of Grace a God of Justice a god of patience see our God is so great and So Glorious that is impossible to reveal in a single name a single name cannot Define him a single several names cannot begin to describe him you can list all the names
Of God if you want to yet you still will not have fully defined who he is you can take the alphabet and go through each and every letter listing in thinking about the names and the attributes of God but still you will never even be able to scratch the surface of his
Greatness and His glory Isaiah said that a child has a name we know him as Jesus Lord Master savior deliverer healer Christ he has many titles king of kings and Lord of lords Lion of the tribe of Judah Rose of Sharon the feris of 10,000
The bride and Morning Star but who is he really will be defined by our encounter with him see let me just let me just get into this real quick we limit God can I just challenge you for a moment to take your limitations off God
And Let Jesus be who Jesus is and Jesus is not but defined by what he does can I tell you whether or not Jesus ever heals you does not determine whether or not he’s the Healer see we we we sing songs based upon somebody else’s encounter reality that was a beautiful song we

Limitations of God is we come up to an altar when we feel like we need something we’ll come to the altar when we need healed we’ll come to the altar when our marriage is falling apart we’ll come to the altar when our kids are running away and not serving God we’ll
Come to the altar when when we have sin and and and and and all these things going in our life when we have Despair and sadness and oppression and and and and and and uh depletion but do we come to the altar when you feel good you come to the altar when everything’s
Going good see Jesus is saying listen I need you to come closer it’s easy to give Jesus the things that we don’t want and a lot of us are caught in that relationship where we give Jesus all the garbage see can I just get real with you
And this is where I’m an evangelist and I only get to come back once a year but that’s because Joel he’s such a good pastor and I believe he he flows in the apostolic that that he can take this and he can build on it but some of your definition of Jesus is
Trashman see there’s this guy that does a huge favor for me once a week I’ve never met him and every once in a while he changes it’s a different guy but he does me a huge favor I I eat what I want I drink what I want and then I take it
To this little this little container with this plastic bag and I put it in there and when that plastic bag begins to get full or it begins to stink either myself or my bride will take it out to another container outside and then every Monday There’s this this man that just
Does miracles in our life he takes all our garbage and I roll out this little canister this little this little container out to the curb and then he comes and gets it and I pay him a little bit of money and then all of a sudden every week he he takes something that’s
Full and he leaves it empty and that is a lot of your relationship with Jesus you give him your sin you give him your sickness you give him your shame you give them your garbage you give them your all this stuff that you don’t want and you roll it in every
Sunday and you’ll stand in pews and you’ll raise your hands and saying God I don’t want this anymore but your relationship with Jesus is he’s your Trashman he comes and empties out all the garbage in your life so that you can go back the next week and fill it up can
I tell you Jesus is not your trash man he’s got to become your lord and savior he didn’t call you to just bring the garbage he didn’t die just to get your sin he died to get your life and give you life more abundantly he wants to
Change you in such a way that you don’t come back empty you don’t come back full of garbage but you come back with results and fruit yes what would happen if 2024 was the year that you sold out and surrendered and said God everything in my life is yours not just the garbage
Life would change your life would change how about the people next to you how about your neighbors your co-workers your friends your the people in the grocery store if you change I promise you everybody else is going to change how do I know that because I have an entire Bible that 11
Men 11 men are still changing lives because of their lives yes being changed oh but we just want Sunday Jesus oh that’s another identity of Jesus our hour and a half savior or our 10% Jesus or how about our 11 minute walk through the Bible once a year Jesus I had a
Minister approached me on Facebook he said did you walk away from the ministry and I went what that was my exact question what capitalized question mark question mark exclamation marks throughout like the page like what and he said well you post nothing but fishing pictures instead of ministry
Pictures I said well did you quit the ministry cuz all you post is cake pictures and food pictures what did you become a chef and he said no seriously I don’t I’m not seeing used to you report all these things and inspiring quotes and these scriptures and I said here’s the
Thing I’m an evangelist I said can I tell you since April I’ve LED dozens of people to the Lord including some of the top fishing guides in the state of Colorado people that are dying of drug addictions that won’t walk into our church they’re not sitting here today
Why because they’re standing in a river trying to earn an income for their family today men who have walked up to me with tears in their eyes dealing with Heroin addictions and Coke addictions just so that they can keep living I said I’m not called to fill the
Church my job is to reach people to make sure they get to heaven I said but can I tell you God’s using fish he used it back then can I tell you that literally four of the apostles were fishermen I just answered the all the the the the job wanted or the search
What am I talking about how many people do you work with that need Jesus and yet one of the greatest sermons that Jesus ever preached has not been spoken through your life here’s the best part you remember when Peter Jesus says who do people say

Freebie people will always stop you from getting to Jesus if you let them people are going to get in your way but when you have a determined obedience and desperate desire to get to Jesus there ain’t going to be anything that stops you and they climb up on a roof and they
Rip the roof off and and all of a sudden they lower the mat that the paralyzed man’s lying on and Jesus saw their faith and he said Son your sins are forgiven and then the religious began to question well who does this man think that he is
Because only God can forgive sins even dead religion understands that God Can Only God can forgive sins yet this is where we stop see they could have pulled his their friend up saying well that’s what we came for we came to get him saved we came to get him forgiven and a
Lot of you this is where listen Hey listen man come and give your life to Jesus and fill out this card all of Heaven rejoices when one sinner comes home well the last time I checked we’re not home yet so it doesn’t say that all Heaven rejoices because one sinner prays
A prayer it says when one sinner begins to come home can I tell you we have been celebrating false Finish Lines and so Jesus knowing what they were thinking in their hearts he said which is easier to say to this man your sins are forgiven are to say get up and
Walk and then Jesus puts his entire reputation on this man who’s paralyzed he says but that you may know that the son of man has the authority on Earth to forgive sins he said pick up your mat and walk can I tell you in the Greek the
Word walk also can be translated as live see a lot of us come to the Altar and we get forgiven just like this man but we’re still paralyzed in sin we’re still relying upon people carrying us around what this city needs is not just a church that’s
Living but the people that attend this church to begin to live and begin to walk see it says which is easier to say to this man to get up and walk what he was really saying is to get up and live and the way that you live will tell the
World that I am who I said I am and I can do what I said I can do what is going to change this world is not us running around with a message of forgiveness but actually walking in a lifestyle that we previously could not walk in imagine what would happen in
Roswell if a bunch of people that were once paralyzed in in sin in fear in Terror in anxiety in depression begin to rise up and walk in that life and that joy and that peace and that Grace and that mercy and the life that they were supposed to live imagine what would
Happen in this city Revival would break out come on and then on Sundays it’s not a place of Outreach it’s a place of Celebration and then small groups become places of discipleship the church was never a place of evangelism you are God’s tool of evangelism because of lives that are
Changed so when Jesus says don’t go don’t go tell them go show them go show him who I am go show him what I’m capable of so watch this there’s five things that I’m going to bring this message to a close and then we’re going to jump in these altars
And we’re going to allow Jesus to begin to reveal who he really is to us the first thing I notice about Isaiah is he defines Jesus as this to the hindered he is the amazing God let me ask you a question are you hindered in this
Place what does it mean to be hindered it means that you’re restricted that you’re restrained you’re not able to move the way that you maybe it’s because somebody’s hurt you and they stole your trust maybe it’s because you’ve been disappointed and you you have a hard time believing see to the hindered he’s
The amazing God Isaiah said that you can call him wonderful because he is wonderful and in that name speaks of one who is out out of the ordinary he speaks of a God who is being unique and different he is he is a marvelous one the astonishing one there is no one like
Him there is none besides him job chap 19: 25- 27 I know that my redeemer lives yet in my flesh I will see God I myself shall see him with my own eyes beloved when was the last time you saw God when was the last time you heard God
When was the last time you felt God I I’m going to be honest with you after I met that gentleman that young man who knew literally his life may be taken and his family’s life be taken because he surrendered his life at an altar to Jesus you know what lost its grip over
Him fear but he was willing to conquer that fear because of the peace that he felt I asked myself the question if my life was completely contingent upon giving my life to Jesus that my life could be taken would I’ve responded to that altar how many people in
