Lizzy’s first namesake I am very honored to be standing here to represent the grandchildren we are 12 in total namely Ayana wano sha M Ethan Boro Jonathan gig Sydney Boro shaza kich J Boro Shamil mooni Lizzy mooni karoki Ian Philip DEA and Lizzy Moon W sha was an amazing woman who did so
Many incredible things she was a businesswoman an entrepreneur and was invited to speak at different churches and events all the time time she was always on the go and saw great potential in everyone as much as we admire her work so much to us at the end of the day she was just
Social she always gave us chocolates warm hugs and consistently opened her home to us to have sleepovers whenever we wanted she ensured that her home was our home too during these stays at her house she would ask us how school was or if we were doing any new sports or clubs
And we could always feel that she was genuinely interested in our lives and who we were becoming I can vividly remember a conversation I had had with her before going off to the US for University we were on the swing outside her house and I had told her my fears
And worries about moving across the world and being independent about making new friends and leaving my old ones but despite how weary I was she didn’t fail to tell me how proud she was of me and how much she knew I would excel in everything I did she encouraged me to be
Strong and said that she had no doubt in the world that I would have an amazing time in my next step in life and I took her words with me all the way to the US however this immeasurable Pride she felt extended to all of us grandchildren in many different and unique
Ways sha was a very busy woman but never failed to spend time with us and show us how much she loved us when such a busy busy woman makes time for you you know you’re special our show show was a very brag worthy show show I know bragging is
Not good but as kids we couldn’t help but say my sh owns this or my sh has done that and looking back at those times all the way up to now we can’t help but smile at the many many things she has accomplished all in all us grandchildren are so grateful to have
Been able to experience life with a sh like ours someone so humble and ready to help others I know my younger cousins who may not have gotten the chance to interact with Sho in the ways that us older grandchildren did will grow up hearing nothing but wonderful and
Uplifting words about sha Lizzy sha has taught us many things throughout her life like how to have a generous heart no matter what and although her lost deeply pains us for the past few months she bravely fought through her illness instilling a fighter in each and every
One of us all we can think is how crazy it is now realizing that after her passing truly how many people she positively impacted and how many lives she had a hand in developing although we now use the words she was or she used to
Be she will always be our sh a powerful determined and and sacrificially loving individual whose absence will forever be felt thank you for everything shoso and you will be missed dearly may you forever rest in peace thank you thank you thank you very much so

Ming I have written we’ve written something about everybody but those ones who are here this afternoon is myself kagu and and syvia my older sister so I’m going to start with my own um thoughts about my sister then go to um scoia and then the the
Brothers U my sister lizy told me she was the one who used to take care of me when I was born and she was put in charge of my life when I was a baby she used to love telling me how when there was no Mom was too busy to cook and
There I had to eat baby formulas that time it was called farx there was no C that time and grape juice she loved that part of the of feeding me as soon as I finished Primary School Lizzy and I li had just finished gotten married she insisted that she was going
To be taking care of me my brother kago and I moved with to live with her and her adopted children and David and Peter and I was there and that was then when Tony Stella and Kiki were born so we all grew up as one family she cared for me
As a mother and a sister combined she consistently visited me almost every weekend in college mostly to vet my friendships and when I was about to get married um of which she had approved her and her husband and J Boro are the first people um my H my husband to be talked
To and they the ones who organized how we would go to morang to tell my parents we continued rating very closely as adults and my sisters always watched over me very closely when I got married and her children she treated my children just like her own I went to teach at
Temple College and later when lies was born uh she invited me to be to be everything human resource personal assistant customer everything and teach and that’s how I got incorporated as a director of the college Lizzy was the kindest most generous and forgiving person I have ever known she never kept
Record of wrongs within one and she loved her family members with all her heart she loved spending time with her siblings and to drive many weekends to kaj especially to see her one of her our brothers Jones and the rest of us would fit in her station wagon p and all
Travel there over the weekend and spend a few days and then we would drive back she was so she was also very concerned about her nephews and nieces and had a special relationship with each one of them and made sure they had secure had a job whatever she they could get which
She participated in this generosity and care for her family expanded to her philic philanthropic work assisting everyone everywhere anywhere she went even as her business grew and she became a public figure she cared about everyone and didn’t discriminate who you are you were even if she found you on the roadside
She even used to take such people at home before even she came came to know who they were when she was extremely busy in her public life the first people she would invite to her events and were her siblings and family when she fell sick I as Rich spent um even more time
Checking it on her two to three times a week we would sit outside with my other sister syvia here who was her main caregiver joking about everything and never dwelling on her on her weakening Health she never even thought about it and that it would end up tragically the
Way it did but he became a parent she was leaving we just sat beside her that was on Sunday reminding her over and over I told her reminded her to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord just making sure she remember that
Not to fear I’m now going to read the part about syvia now syia is talking my sister Lizzy and I used to fight over clothing chores and everything even when she was young Li was very social person and a little mischi and always on the Move sometimes that means she she did
Not complete her responsibilities at home so I was the one to to cover for her our mother would still discover what I was doing and I got punished for both of us those were the days of boo when we grew up and got married we um we brought up our children together
And every other weekend her children were at my house or hers where we enjoyed taking the mountain grew together K Martin Carol Victor all those who are here sit here today withon St and Kiki as one of her caregivers I spent almost every day with her in the
Last six months of her life whenever she was in the country apart from when she traveled for for medical checkups we never allowed her to dwell on her illnesses in illness instead aming about the good old days and dreaming about the future when she would get better she did
Get better though not in the way we had hoped but we are we are glad we were glad we were there holding her hand and loving on her and she breed her last in conclusion as girls we were very close to each other the three of us but even
If we didn’t let our brothers come and even if we let our brothers come here and speak they would tell the same stories of Liz’s generosity and caring heart to them and their families she had a special relationship with each one of them and was always concerned about
Their deeds and well growing growing up she was very close with my brother Jones who used to do most of her gardening Garden reading Duty being a very hard worker he would finish his part and then go and find her just chasing butter fries around scavaging
Around for for um you know Ral fruits which grow up which were everywhere those days and then just finish her part My Brother David mashia who we name was nicknamed Mambi they follow each other because of his um he was a trumpet kind of person
So we named him bgab and he stuck he was a family bully and was as loud as a trumpet um and was her rival those days they followed each other that so he used to pick on her just because she was lightly order he never really want a
Fight against her but when they GRE they were all grown up they became very good friends and up to the time that she was getting very weak she never stopped asking for him and fight if there’s any way she could assist him and that was when she was really uh weak my brother
Mik was her favorite and everybody’s favorite and they got along fine they visited each other all the time and even when she felt sick not a day went by without her calling him or asking about his wellbeing he was also my protection from my brother gambi The Bu who used to pick
On me to annoy just to annoy my sister Lizzy that that was the purpose he loved and cared so much for for my my brother Gago and and thought um he was so innocent and all that as a kid he spent his time hiding behind open doors with his little lers blanket and
His thumb in his mouth looking very innocent until there were just the two of us in the house and he became a little Tyrant my brother John who is the eldest was really at home as he had taken to helping do small businesses so that he could assist in the household needs of
The family members he was hardly in the house he was hardly he was always working and he is the one who overow everybody of us whenever we needed something we’ look for him and he was always there while we were while we are happy our sister is free from Pain and
Sickness absence is really is felt and we look forward to the day we will be together I’ve been telling my friends when they come to comfort me how I’m missing her but a very dear friend of mine just reminded me the other day when Jesus was leaving uh the time he was
Taken to Heaven um he they were expecting him to do something like stay or take over the the leadership away from the Romans who are governing uh you know Israel that time but Jesus told him you continue with the work of preaching the gospel and he went to heaven to receive his
Reward which his father was happy to have him seat at his right hand to take over the Nations as he’s going to do when he comes to us prain the the 10,000 years and so I’ve been taking note of that lately and praying that the best
Thing we can do for my sister is to continue the work she started just like Jesus told the disciples and everybody else to go preach the gospel and do a good job of it thank you so much for coming all of you God bless you so [Applause] much Stephanie Stephanie who are

Maybe you allow me that half minute just to let you let our chairman stand up and if there’s any member of the kuna women group wherever you are please raise your hand up Mrs SAR B is our chair lady and Lizzy was her Vice chair so I’ll go straight to the tribute
That has come from the ladies Lizzy was one of the founder members of Kenya life Cuna women uh group who was one of the founder members of that group about 20 or so years ago and it was kicking it was still kinging she was a very active member got on war
With all the members and she treated all of us like her sister in fact we call each other sisters even the senior sisters she often would invite the whole membership to her home and her various functions in the her different uh institutions we had the opportunity and
The privilege to be part of nibs to be part of Emory to be part of the foundation and all that I will talk about rather read about she cared for and assisted the less privileged members not only of our community in Kuna but even throughout
Kenya and that has been said so I will not go beyond that she was a good woman cheerful wherever she entered in the room her presence will be fa even if there was deep conversation sometimes she would just blow up and said we need need to laugh and so we would
Laugh little Lizzy what we can say about Lizzy is so much that we can’t even begin to talk I’ll just say especially for me as a person we started our journey with lizy as friends from Kenyata College the one that was mentioned and since that time we have
Been very very close friends to the extent that she has been honoring me to speak on behalf of her during her children’s weddings and stuff like that so what do we say we are saying that Lizzy rest in perfect peace you deserved it you deserve it and may the Lord
Almighty our creator who is all knowing encourage and uphold the family in his own Divine ways during this difficult period and into to the Future these ladies the kuna women Pioneer Group ladies and gentlemen have seen these children grow all of them who are seated here they are their mothers they
Are their grandmothers they are their great grandmothers and so we assure you that the Cuna women Pioneer Group will hold your hands as and when may God bless you thank [Applause] you praise God uh good afternoon everyone yeah it’s such a challenge when Bishop tells you that uh it’s one minute
And I’ll will try my very best to keep it to a minute so allow just to acknowledge the presence of kapco MERS my name is Dr E rungu the chairperson Kenya National Association of private colleges Kenya National Association of private colleges is the ABA body of the private tiet in Kenya we have
2,200 uh colleges in the country country and 380,000 students spread across the country so ladies and gentlemen F uh family clergy friends and esteemed guests We Gather here to celebrate extraordinary life and the legacy of our beloved leader director who inspired us all Dr Lizzy Wan departure is sad news
For us as private tiets and the entire education sector hearing that Lizzy has Le to Eternity was not easy for all of us it’s easy to say goodbye to someone uh but it’s not easy to say goodbye to someone who had such a significant impact the memory of Lizzy Wan will
Continue to inspire and uplift us as we navigate this world without her together as private tiet we honor her Legacy and cherish the moments we shared with her we thank God for the ears he gave Le easy to us we would really have wanted more because she’s our industry champion
And a benchmark for all of us but when she slept to Eternity we reminded ourselves of Psalms 9 to12 that may the Lord teach us to realize the brevity of life so that we may grow in wisdom Dr lizy the kindest loveliest most selfless person you’ll ever meet she was very
Brave softspoken and always there for anyone one who needed her she was one of the pioneers of kapco she is actually a founder of this Association Lizzy was selfless when our sector was challenged she gave her own resources that is in the year 2010 when we had to go to court
And to do so many things to shape the tivet sector and the tivet song that we are seeing in this country today it is her own resources that she gave us to push the agenda that is a level of selflessness that is not with many business people she didn’t
Care that other institutions will benefit from that but she just wanted to see everyone win and she was such an exceptional hble lady a believer that your CLE shining bright it can’t deem hers she would Mentor us as Founders on how to grow institutions and some
Members would go to her when they broke and lizy would give them soft loans to Market their institutions so the last lobing meeting that we had with Lizzy now I understand why Jer didn’t have a tie so in honor of Lizzy jger when we are going to see the
Cabinet secretary please come with a tie I walked with Lizzy from Joo house we had gone to see Dr kevit Desai and found ourselves studying on the streets along Mo Avenue uh when nibs was at Mo Avenue cooperative bank and that time Lizzie was telling me that all I want is
Now to Mentor College owners on how to grow their institutions and Lizzie was very generous with information and her resources very selfless indeed she had such an abundance mentality which is a valuable lesson for all of us this afternoon to emulate that there is always enough for everyone the growth of
Nibs Technical College through her leadership remains an inspiration and a benchmark for us as private tiet rezy has certainly been a paer a leader who possessed a rare combination of vision passion and empathy and she was fearless and she led her team in empowering them and encou encouraging them uh to become
Great and to strive for greatness at a personal level I as drongo my role as the chairperson kapco however my journey started in Libs I was privileged to work with Lizzy and that is where my career Journey started so thank you so today we moan an extraordinary woman but we celebrate the
Beautiful Legacy that she lives behind mind her life will continue to guide us and to remind us that we can achieve anything that we aspire to it is so sad that the Cruel Heart of death just picked the most beautiful and promising flower from the garden and just like

Corridors of counseling and Li was one person who believed that politics was not my way to go and I accepted her opinion because I’m sure she had never seen an a wife of an Anglican prying for a political seat and so to the anglicans I didn’t look like I was very sure and
True but here I am today by the grace of God it happened and so they came and believed that it had to happen and I really want to thank God because of the life that Lizzy has walked the only thing I would want to say to the family
Is that the only Legacy that you can carry on of your mother is just allowing the Legacy that she has laid in your in her in in your lives the Legacy she has laid in kambo county and the rest of the world to continue that is the only great

Man does is interred in their bones when they die but the bad lives after them I want to thank you because your mother’s good is what is going to live after this your friend your sister is what is going to live after this and this can only be
Seen by what you’re going to carry on and so as you carry it on we will thank God so all of us as the people of Nairobi the people of kambo the people of M and all those that Li has touched would only say This rest in peace in one day I promise and we pray to God cancer will Die thank thank you very much uh Bishop at some point I actually thought I should have stood when Kenyata University was standing here especially now that the men were very outnumbered I feel very much part of KU and Li was our chair lady uh as the
Alumni and uh I stand here always a testimony of uh the impact that LE has left behind we normally say that we can forget uh the best tars in the world for what they have done but we never forget people who have had an impact on us whether you’re young old or
Whatever age uh one time and Li really has been a personal friend and in one of those occasions when I I was invited by KU to speak I think in year 2021 uh to the students during the graduation ceremony as a guest alumni uh in that meeting Li asked me
You you sound very convincing and you sound like you can make a very good leader and I told her and you know I’m also contesting in murini and Le told me let me know how I can be helpful to you and in your passit of that seat and in
2022 when when I was hard pressed in murini with finances I called her and I told her Le remember you said you want to support good leadership and she came in for me in a good way and in a big way I remember I was taken to her house by Rachel and
Jerry an artist uh and I met Liz through her and in the house she did quite an interview if you remember and one of the things she wanted to understand is what is it that I want to do and why is it that I must be supported by her and she
Was very keen to support good leadership and uh we have to live the life that Li wanted us to and to impact the world also so I choose to be uh impactful uh to the community to the society and uh she called me she invited me to be one
Of her guests in one of the graduation ceremonies I think that must have been last year and while there I told her I also want to be impactful just like you have been impactful to me and I told her I want to take one of your students and
Employ him in my office and I did take one of the graduates and I announced there in that graduation ceremony Frank and for sure that gentleman uh performs way better than all my other staff in the office today and that is a testimony that the work you do at nibs is truly uh
Impactful and for that I want to thank you I I just want to point out that it appears to me that Li had laid a very good foundation and had uh set her children uh to really do the business that she was doing and because she has
Been very impactful I want to beseech you that kindly remain United uh Li’s children remain United and do her proud in her absence please uh let us take whatever she has Ted to the Next Generation because Le did not invest for her generation she invested for the
Fourth generation and even Bey thank you very much we appreciate God bless you thank you Bishop for this opportunity Madame Sabina thank you my lordship the bishop and the entire clergy to save time the family of my friend Li Wan and my fellow moners good evening mother yoso God is good and all
The time I will not take much time because I came to celebrate my friend uh Li w we met met when I was vying for the first time at morang County I went to search for the women and the girls of moranga because we knew about the boys and the heavy weight the
Boys of moranga County we didn’t know about the girls and I went I met Li she guided me she became my friend and we also started manga daughters together with Li and many other people who are here this has been my friend even when things were tough in politics she kept on
Calling me and telling me I believe in you she’s among the few women in Kenya who have inspired us even if she was not a politician she inspired the leadership in me Liz was a very shy lady and most of the times when we go even for the
Functions I would almost push her to say hi she wouldn’t want to be recognized she wanted to stay they at the back but you’ll hear Madame but when she appears with her big name then people would be wow I’m coming from B County today we
Had a funeral of a friend of mine and when I spoke to one of the old elderly ladies who is a mother to one of my my friend who came with me Jenga that lady is called waja I told her so today we celebrate the work she has
Done for our country and especially for the our young people we also happened to be in a fellowship with li the ones who didn’t know and even if she will not come and sing much we have a group called concerned Brethren and I would have wished if you had recognized the you can
Just be upstanding because of time and Li was part of that Fellowship uh my lordship the bishop that Fellowship meets every second Monday of the month and the fourth Monday of the month in the afternoon and the only thing we do is just to sing we praise God we
Do and soon maybe we’ll be recording because we have become such a big group I know JJ you cannot believe me but that’s the truth and so the last Fellowship I think Le came to my house and so uh when she became sick we didn’t
Even know I did not expect it was this serious so to the family we are sorry would have even loved to come and fellowship with her more and sing those songs and one of the songs that she loved and I think we the bishop Foree for thank you very much thank you thank you very much thank you thank you thank you Rael J thank you for the opportunity my lordship to our friend may you rest in peace and she also mentored another Le modoni that one is my MCA in kenona W and she was one of
The M recognized her it’s only that you are not around thank you very much thank you thank you very much the only thing to let you off the hook is that I discovered by extension you a member of this church and uh your children also come
Here so I had told Canon to deny you Holy Communion but now you’re allowed to take Holy Communion now H Rachel you have been recognized isn’t it yes just wave to the congregation thank you very much Roy Kim where are you Roy Kim I was told she’s around oh conation yes
One of my sons is called kungo are you related come and bring your condolences please thank you very much uh father Bishops and everyone good evening there was a time me and Jenga visited Le and we were given some food and the food looked very delicious
So we decided to take a picture of the food each person holding the food and then we posted it on Facebook so Jenga posted on his page I posted on my page and the comments that were coming on Jenga side were wow what a delicious food who made that
Food for you that is so nice I was an MCA then so I looked at the page what were the comments on my side that is how the society perceive the politicians but I want to tell you some of us are a product of lizy Wan we believe in her
Values the values of being obedience the values of putting yourself ahead of the others of the of the others thinking of the others I worked at nibs College before I became a politician I was a lecturer part-time lecturer then I was given an opportunity to be the brand manager of the institution
Some of those colors and everything you see that’s what we did and every Sunday we used to go to churches kambu kaga embu everywhere because she used to Market and Mentor the mentor the the young people as well as marketing the institution we used to be together
Bishop to show that Lizzy was not flashy because you could not tell how much she had in the accounts and I’m telling you she was not simple and I know so many of us politicians we used to go to her when Kim for soft loans and she would tell you write down
I have requested a soft loan of this much and should give us and keep the notes but to show that she was not flushy we used to go to churches as I said and she had an old vehicle K har you you know all of you you do know and we used to
Tell her you’re the principal of nips College the biggest private institution why don’t you drive PR like your friends and she could deceased it took us so many months to have her change her mind and got herself a proud and I’m saying those three men who did that work one of them
Is Jenga over there better stand again we will mention you again and again and the other is myself and the third person is mboro muru is the husband to joim boru yes the husband to Jo kimor we used to work together three of us and he’s not here he’s in China he
Could have been here and he’s my PA at the Senator’s office so you can see we were taught to embrace those who believe in you mine is to say we will remember Lizzy W as a mentor we remember lizy Wan as a selfless person who could see
Potential to those to you or in you and probably nobody else could see that Bishop when I started my campaigns because I was a um a lecturer at nips College I asked her to give me a bus so that I can go around gawa W and I
Was given a bus but I did not have people to put in there so I used my students at nibs College they were about 30 something I was in TNA then I didn’t even have money for t-shirts so I told all my students t-shirt so I launched my campaign with
T-shirt and the motivation that we got we were able to believe in ourselves I’ve lost a friend I’ve lost a mentor and I’ve lost someone who believes in young people I’m saying I because I believed in Liz Wan thank you very much and God bless you and the family of Liz
Wan I will still be around in the sense that and this is a call I want to call everybody who was a friend of Li Wan she has a foundation Lizzy Wan Foundation after we are done with everything we need to sit down and we bring light into
That Li Foundation those small loans that we are not able to pay let’s be contribu putting something in there so that other children and other people can benefit from her even when she’s gone rest well am Mentor thank you very much Senator kumoa those who may not be aware he’s the senator for kabo County now to culminate the list of uh politicians and government people we have with us the Deputy Governor governor of moranga uh County honorable muia this one is a son
Of a priest so he knows the g governor my Lord bishop or the bishop present then uh our fellow moners the family uh good evening God is good all the time my Lord Bishop uh it’s Steven Mia not Mia Mia is also an agrian priest uh he began in the dasis of daa
With my Lord Bishop there and uh I want to say that standing here I believe this is a privilege for me I did not know Liz W personally but her work touched me immensely as uh I believe that uh the first time we I counted Li was when my Lord Bishop
Was organizing youth conferences at nibs and that was the first first time that I met a person who was very passionate to young people the Legacy that he lives is a legacy of inspiration and dedication to the future of this nation I do not want to speak much of
The things that Li already has already done but rather what her Legacy is going to do into the future this nation requires inspiration of the young people to move forward I am a product of the dedication of parents who saw that their investment into the future and into business is supposed to
Be that of the future and not just of money I am a product of such an investment and so the Legacy that we can take from her is to be able to continue mentoring young people towards the future of this nation I do not want to say much my Lord Bishop
I know that there is a less of time but I want to conclude by saying as a young person in this Republic who is in a leadership position I have had politicians who have had a fand account of how Liz had assisted them but we need to change the narrative in
How we Mentor our young people and how we Mentor them into leadership moving forward because the same people that my Lord Bishop is saying that he needs to Handle With Care are the same people who are given the most responsibility in guiding the future of development of
This nation our young people in this country need the inspiration to know that where we need to take our nation doesn’t begin tomorrow it begins today and I have seen that with the legacy of Li from her Preparatory School to nips to the few individuals that he she held
Hands to take into the future that’s what I’m going to remember about Li God bless you God bless you all thank you my apologies uh MIM Governor actually I have written M and you know we were together with you when we were ining the late conon Peter
Mashid who is your relative isn’t he and somebody else who is a priest out there in in America called manania so my apologies I think my eyesight is failing me now there is something that he has said that is very key and very important for us may I request you politicians who
Are here to kindly stand the LI Preparatory and Alan you could help me and the team there she has been supporting it through her own resources through a force is that not correct yes now that she has left us a legacy how are we going to maintain that Legacy
By talking about it but by also acting and doing something about it could you lead us by example I will not ask you to raise your hands and say I promise before God that I’m going to commit myself to make sure that the legacy of now not nibs of course nibs
Yes but there is a foundation continues and I will support it financially so help me God in Jesus name amen take your seats you have taken the vow and it is not only them anybody and everybody who has benefited by the way where is the pay number whatever is it can you
Put it on the screen so that we can don’t confuse it with the with the sadaka of the church that is for the foundation yes make sure it goes there we are just about to finish the list of uh those who be making presentations but now I have another

Prayers and that is how we met a woman who had a very open heart she loved people and if you see all these people from different churches she touched all of us she is like what the Lord Jesus said a City built on a hill cannot be
Hidden Li would tell you everything when she comes on TV she says everything and I know she has going to be with the Lord you know some people when some people die we bu them with the Bishops because of the schools we attended the lord gave the Lord has
Taken but later on when we sit down in the house we enquire from one another are you sure he went to heaven and I was surprised by one a Catholic father who told us that one has not but we all buried him we were all saying poor but we knew he has missed

W I have a very good story I’m putting up a cathedral which is costing me 250 million that is not big money and Le is one of the major contributors to that Cathedral she has really supported me and I thank God so much for that and more than
That she is a wonderful a wonderful Christian and all that I can say is flowers die story ends songs fade memories are forgotten but precious people like re will forever be treasured thank you so much my MIM and my big brother Joel for coordinating this service so
Well and we know that the Lord will speak to us individually and collectively to the re children our prayers and our thoughts will remain with you forever God bless You thank you we shall now have the reading of the word of God the reading is taken from 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 1-8 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 1 to the end to 18 therefore since through God’s mercy we have this ministry we do not lose heart rather we
Have renounced secret and shameful ways we do not use deception nor we nor we distort the word of God on the contrary by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to Every Man’s conscience in the sight of God and even if our gospel is veiled it is
Veiled to those who are perishing the God of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God for we do not preach ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves your servants for jesus’
Sake for God God who said let light shine out of Darkness made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ but we have this treasure in Jars of Clay to show that this all surpassing
Power is from God and not from us we are hard pressed on every side but not crushed perplexed but not in despair persecuted but not abandoned struck down but not destroyed we always carry in our body the death of Jesus so the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our
Body for we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus sake so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body so then death is at work in US but life is at is at work in you it is written I believed therefore I have
Spoken with that same Spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence and this is for your benefit so that the grace
That is reaching more and more people may cause Thanksgiving to overflow in the glory of God therefore we do not lose heart though outwardly we are wasting away yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day for our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that
Far outweighs them all so we fix our eyes not not on what is seen But on what is unseen for what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal this is the word of the Lord be to God our preacher this evening is none other than the right revered Professor Julius
Man Professor W is an Anglican Bishop he’s the dasian bishop of the dasis or the bishop W and I have known each other for many years yes I think when he was an evangelist many of you will remember him at ‘s Cathedral as the Provost of ain’s
Cathedral and now the bishop of the dasis of Thea Professor w we are so happy we are grateful to God that you left your dces uh and you came to join us we do recall and realize that on Tuesday you shall also be hosting us as the bishop
Of the dasis of vaa but we don’t take it for granted that you came and therefore without Much Ado tell us what we do in order for the bishop to bring the word of God thank you my Bishop um we welcome the word of God with a
Beautiful k and we have the likes of L Kim we have uh uh Rachel even I know she’s very good at that so please let’s invite them uh this time I will not ask the praise and worship let’s have those people come and lead us into a beautiful
Kos very brief one that leads the bishop to the pulpit so that we hear the word of God shall we all start kind Hallelujah me take away Take Your take your [Applause] where to where We may be seated uh thank you praise team for leading Us in thanking God as we sang in that language my brother Bishop Joel the bishop in ordinary in the Anglican dasis of Nairobi my brother Charles our senior Bishop Isaac the family and fraternity of nips Li W’s
Family our sincere cences and prayers that the Lord will give you Grace at this time I want to recognize all the Ministers of the gospel and ministers in other Ministries allow me to use that that definition for us who are present here they are ministers of the gospel
And ministers in other Ministries as the Lord grants unto us I was born in a very small village in moranga called waari I don’t know whether uh trying to work out on this thing so I was born in a very little village called waar in moranga county that the Lord called me into
Ministry at 21 and gave me an opportunity to serve in kambo and so for a few years just as 36 years I have been preaching this Christ who revealed himself to me and who has given me an opportunity to just share of who he is in my
Life I bring the condolences of my wife we will be together with the family and those who will come on Tuesday uh Canon GGA you initially had given the nibs an opportunity to sing but because tomorrow we will be with you we shall Revenge so don’t worry we will
Be with you in the service so you have an opportunity to sing it’s a lot that has been said about Madame Lee and I’ll share my thoughts in regard to my relationship with her the last time we were with her was during the last graduation I think you
Came Kush the person whom you sponsored was there present and the governor of kambo and that was my last time to be with her even as we shared and spoke but we have had many opportunities to interact with her and as was testified here by our Deputy Governor of
Moranga we have used nibs college for our end of the year conferences for the Youth and so Alan and part of my team in thadis we have related in one way or another I’ll say two things for the family as I look into the book of Prophet Jeremiah chapter
32 and these two things I’ll say one there is nothing too hard for the Lord for you in your life so even as you grieve even as you agonize or what the demise of your mother a philanthropist and a valued member in the family there is nothing that is too
Hard for the Lord for you and so it is you’re trusting in God that everything will be easy uh for you the second thing that I’ll say to you the joy of having a covenant relationship ship with God supersedes other Covenant relationships in our lives Prophet Jeremiah speaks of a
Covenant with his people that he will be their God May the Covenant that the Lord made with Lizzy invoke in you Treasured Memories of his love for you as a family and for what Lizzy stood for in her life as one who had made a covenant
With God and of whom God had made a covenant with her and so may this and other words which will be spoken to you about how you can live Hereafter remain as a foundation of your strength that there is nothing too hard for Lord in the midst of his people and
Secondly is that a covenant that God makes with his people is Everlasting and it is not cannot be broken and neither death nor the pain of this world separates us from that Covenant relationship that God has with us in our lives but as we reflect on the scripture and how I
Visualize Liz’s life shall we pray Eternal Father we give you glory and honor for who you are to us and for what it means for us as a congregation to remember the life of your servant lizy gracious father we can see her move or speak share her life with us in different
Ways we can see her in low moments and in difficult moments of her life even on those momentous occasions where her joy and laughter is evident we want to thank you for what she meant to us and now what our faith holds in who she was as your
Child speak to us in ways in which your love will be revealed The Memories We hold of her shall Blossom so that at the end of this service we will surely say we treasured The Memories We hold of leing were spoken and in the service you ministered to us this we ask through
Christ Our Lord amen I want to use a passage that was read to us the letter of Paul to the Corinthians and share a few thoughts of what I reckon is how I visualize the late Lizzy B the first one is for what Le stood for in the ministry that the Lord granted
Unto her in chapter three of Paul’s letter to the Corinthians Paul speaks of one being a letter of the spirit written by the hand of God conferred a Ministry and a Ministry in which we reveal the glory and the grace of God in our lives rezy stood and lived in the
Ministry that the Lord conferred unto her she was passionate not only to speak to the young men and women not only to uplift those who are lry and those who were needy but Li W lived to her conviction as of what the Lord had made
Her in her life and so for me I have come to celebrate someone who understood her life understood the calling that God God had given unto her and was exilant in revealing what it meant for her as an entrepreneur and a philanthropist in who she was in her
Life so Paul’s letter to the Corinthians in chapter 3 brings out of what we can be and how we can be and this is what what we share leaving to what God has called and given unto us and remaining who we are in the eyes of God and of what he has
Granted and given unto us and as we remember her it’s equally important to ask ourselves what kind of a letter am I and what do I reveal in what God has given unto me versus what I reckon of rzy in her life the second thing that I see in this letter is the
Competency in which Lizzy handled what she was doing in her life what Paul writes in Corinthians says God makes us competent to be Ministers of a new covenant not of the letter but of the spirit although Lizzy went to Kenyata University for her University education and through other courses
Which she has learned in her life I want to see her comp comp her competence in light of what God enabled her in what she has been able to accomplish in the years she has been in nips and in the many Forest that we now remember her in this
Assembly and it is important for us to ask ourselves what is the source of my competence in what I do is it the Academia is it the shoulders that you have rubbed with in terms of your life is it the networks that you have as a
Person but Paul here says we are made competent by God in our own lives and I invite you Brethren to find your competence in what God can make you for what man can do to another man can take pride we come to celebrate how God can make us competent
To accomplish what he has conferred unto us and thirdly in this particular passage this is a Ministry that God gives unto us and that is why I began by saying we are ministers of the gospel and some ear sacraments and there are other Ministries and of which you are a
Minister in your own right in this particular passage Paul says he is a minister who reveals the glory of God in who he is we can see what nibs has revealed to us the many who have interacted with Lizzy in her sessions be it at nibs be it through the media be it
The public forest in which he has been able to speak Lizzy has always been blossoming in what the Lord has made and given to her the counseling that she has done the encouragement that she has G she has made and the many hearts who have been uplifted in the manner in
Which in her life through nips and it’s equally important for us to ask ourselves in which way does the glory of God become evident and reflected in who we are as men and women of faith and the kind of character that is evident in us the competencies that are
Evident in who we are and the chemistries that we generate in the manner that we relate with one another lizy revealed the glory of God in who she was and what she did and this I celebrate with joy and pride for what I saw of her and for what she did and
She stood for and therefore it’s an an opportunity to be challenged in our hearts in what we do and how we do what we do because some of us can be called we are slothful some of us can be related with laxity but some of us can be also associated with
Agility as it was evident in Li and so for me we reveal these Ministries that the Lord has granted unto us and Lizzy stands as one who is a star in her own right in the manner she witnessed The Graces of God in her life we are Rec gathered to remember
Rezy in her way that she remained hopeful for at tomorrow for those who can remember her journey from the city center the classes that she had the way they were the manner she started nips in Royo I remember chatting with her in the last graduation and asking her lizy have
You ever thought about having nips as a university she said I have been always approached about it but I so believe live in tertiary education and the place it has in our society even when there were moments that she was L Rezi remained hopeful in places and in sections of
Life where some of us give it a wide path in 2 Corinthians chapter 4 vers one the scripture says because we have a Ministry and the mes that God has has given unto us in these Ministries that we reveal who God is we do not lose hope in our lives the family of
Lizzy remain hopeful and there a people who do not lose heart even when the Tempest may be rough even when the tide maybe at its highest moments I saw in reason how had from RE that resilience in who she was so we meet this evening to celebrate
A woman who remained hopeful and who did not lose heart for what she believed in and she had a Keen Eye to see what some of us could not be able to see not because of her academic but because of the insights and the spirit of discernment that always resulted in the
Way that she had a heart that never lost hope in her own life it is in this that she revealed her own faith her conviction the future that she looked into in some of us who are here and some who are still debtors to resp respond to what she spoke to us and
How she could see us come out and be revealed in our way it is in this context in verse three that Paul would write and say and even if our gospel is veiled it is only veiled to those who are perishing so we come to
