And that right there was a turning point for me we probably get into that after you know I you know re denounced but that was a critical point for me because I realized I was like you know what me drinking like that being in in you know
Wanting to just be like yeah I’m this I’m a sigma and this and that just drinking I could have lost my life right there and I would have gone to hell you know CU I wasn’t you know living right before the Lord hey hey it’s your girl laa Jenkins back with another YouTube video so in this video I actually brought my friend Marcus on to share his denouncing testimony but before I actually get into the testimony if you have’t already hit the Subscribe you grow one time for the
One time so like I said I am laa and I am from Arlington Texas egg Town yeah and so I crossed into Delta Sigma Theta in Spring of 2008 and I denounced in Fall of 20121 so I was a Delta about 12 or 13 years and the Lord called me to
Denounce and so ever since I’ve denounced the Lord wants to ensure that all of his children denounce as well he wants to make sure that everybody is free in Jesus name and so I um I’m doing this announcing testimony series to make sure that everybody is free and so I
Brought my friend Marcus on to share his denouncing testimony so Marcus thank you so much thank you thank you thank you so much for saying yes to God I am super excited to hear your testimony I know it is powerful and so I’m excited I pray that y’all that are watching are excited
As well and so my first question to you is how were you introduced to Greek life so first off laa thank you so much for having me um it’s a privilege and an honor to be here uh sharing my testimony about Greek life uh with you now the way
I was actually introduced in Greek life at first was actually when I was in high school uh one of my assistant principles uh is a Kappa and he always you know every once in a while wore his Kappa stuff to school what not not and uh and
I was like what is that and he told me he was like yeah that’s my fraternity and whatnot and uh you should do it when you when you go to college so I was like okay and then my senior year in high school the school I was going to go
Going to go to they had they had the fraternities listed I was like oh interesting all right cool and what I saw with that was okay connections I could have a some brothers that you know I could lean on and this and that and and really just looking for
A power structure uh to be a part of uh when I got to campus at the University of Florida you know we have What’s called the set the set is where a lot of the Greek organizations hang out you know during class or whatever no not during class but after class and in
Between you know you have the sigas here kappas there or Q’s what have you there and I noticed with the with the sigas they were very welcoming very friendly and I was like okay cool cool you know uh some of the other frats they kind of
Were off to themselves a little bit but signals are very welcoming and I was like yeah these are some cool cats so that was my first fourway forray into into Greek life or introduction to it at least okay you said you went to the University of Florida correct so what
Year was this did you go you went in 2000 very long time ago oh 2000 okay long long time ago I just said right there not 200000 and something but 2000 2000 like right after the 90s right okay okay so you got there in 2000 and you noticed that the sigas were really
Nice and so how did you like decide that that’s what you like officially wanted to do yeah I found out about you know did more research on them and you know what they did on campus and sigma actually ran that particular yard so the term run the yard means that an
Organization actually is pretty dominant there and they’re they they run the yard they’re the dominant organization of fraternity there and they did a lot of community service they did a lot lot of things on campus which were good and again very friendly very welcoming so I
Was like okay and very came out very humble too uh some of the other ones you know maybe a little Loof uh you know snoody uh I was like no that’s not my personality the sigmas were my more my personality you know laid-back humble friendly and that’s how
That uh that’s how I settled on them okay and so how was the like showing your interest process with with them or with that chapter yeah so they had what’s called a an interest meeting so interest meetings are when you go to a meeting hosted by the organization and
They tell you brief history about the organization and of course they take your information and based on whatever you put on there if they want to select you to proceed further in the process that’s how that’s uh done now for me personally someone who was already in
The organization and went to the same high school as me uh when we were in Miami so that help helped speed me along in the process okay and so was there any was there any pre pre- pledging or anything or hazing or not not not in the
Beginning no it was kind of like okay uh we res selected you and there was no pre- pledging or preh hazing uh that came when we were like okay y’all are online this is for Real so there’s nothing uh done prior to that okay okay and so you applied you you made it
Online and so how was that being online for for stigma let’s get to it yeah yeah uh well uh a lot of organizations say they don’t Haze and but they hazed you know there was hazing uh underground uh got paddled you know got punched here and there and I remember
There are certain rules we had to abide by we couldn’t walk on the grass weren’t supposed to be caught eating junk food we had to eat some interesting things we it was really fear a lot of fear in that not knowing what was going to happen next that’s the
Main thing right there with the pring pledging process is there’s a spirit of fear that’s cultivated in the pledging process and that goes for all organizations that are pledging underground because you literally don’t know every time your phone rings you get anxiety you’re like oh my gosh you know
Uh literally every time my phone ring or one of my then lme Brothers phone ring our hearts would start racing because we’re like oh we gota we got to do something or we got to go somewhere you know and uh it it was uh it was definitely um an
Experience uh I would never forget and I’m sure a lot of other people who’ve pledged on theground will never forget either how many of y’all were online there were 10 of Us online I was number seven number seven and did all 10 of y’all uh start from beginning to end
Or did anybody drop no we all started and finished we all started no one dropped okay that’s impress I guess impressive during so while you pledging and you know you’re getting paddled and all of this like how was your like mental state oh it was it was frazzled
It was just not all there you know because again when you’re you’re operating in fear you’re in a fear mode you you can’t really think straight all the time and you’re always tired because you know pledging process at night pledges at night it’s kind of late then
You got to go to bed or whatnot you’re you lose weight because you’re not really hungry all the time and you can’t eat the junk see well I was 18 years old at the time and 18 years you know 18 years old you kind of eating junk food a
Lot so that affected my diet right there because I couldn’t eat all the junk I wanted or get caught eating junk food it it it really mess with your your your your mind and of course you’re not really supposed to be going out anywhere doing anything socially uh while you’re
Pledging so some people some of your friends outside of that might be like oh we haven’t seen so and so in a while and that’s always cold for people are pledging when you don’t see them they’ll disappear all of a sudden you know it it
Really just just put you in a place of isolation with your brothers or who your L Brothers whoever you’re pledging with and that’s it it’s like everything else was secondary that pledging process was what was the most important so so why did you continue with the process
Because some of the comments that I receive is like I would have you know I don’t know why y’all endure that why you didn’t go tell somebody beating on y’all so what would you say to that why why did you continue to go forward there’s a
Lot of Shame and dropping line it’s a it’s a cause of great shame uh they call you an eternal so for instance for sigas the pledges are known as crescents uh you’ll be known as an eternal Crescent one who didn’t finish you didn’t finish what you started you were too weak to to
Continue and so whatever it was you had to endure you endured it because you didn’t want to have that shame uh they made it seem like it was a shame to carry to to to drop line you you didn’t finish you know you didn’t cross the finish line for this great uh
Organization this great thing you know you couldn’t endure a little pain or chaos chos but you quit you took the easy way out you know so and for a lot of other other organizations as well you you know it’s a shame to drop line it’s something you never really Liv down you
Know especially when you’re walk on campus uh no one would really say that unless people knew you were a pledging but you kind of get looked at by oh that one dropped yeah you get kind of looked with the side eye a little bit yeah yeah
You you didn’t make it you know you should have been with us but you didn’t make it so that’s why I continued on and you know I consider myself like hey sign up for this I’m gonna finish it that’s how I looked at that yeah I even know
Some people that did drop on my campus and like they had to like go ghosts because we would look at them like crazy because it’s like you’re you’re weak like you can’t endure just a few weeks of being online like you’re a loser like and granted I’m not proud to say that
Now but at the time that was our mindset is like you you you’re nobody you’re weak you’re a loser like you drop line like get out like go away and they would literally like be gone you know they be they be gone until they graduate like we never would
See the people that dropped line and that’s the shame of it that’s the shame of wow do you remember the above ground process the rituals and ceremonies and stuff like that for because I was such a long time ago I I don’t remember a lot
But what I do remember is uh the first night the initiation process we’re blindfolded we had to hold a candle and we recited something I don’t remember really don’t remember what that was cuz that was such a long time ago the night we crossed same thing blindfolded holding the candle hearing things being
Said don’t remember a thing about it and saying something you know in response and that was it I wish I remembered but I I I I don’t because it’s such a long time ago yeah no no I definitely understand okay and so you crossed into Sigma finally after how how long were
You online it was about seven weeks seven weeks okay that’s that’s about normal seven eight weeks so you crossed and how was it finally becoming you know a sigtigma it was a relief because of what we had gone through for those seven weeks it was like wow finally made it
And on campuses I went to a you know of course University of Florida is a predominantly white institution so at the time there weren’t a whole lot of black students there so being in a black PE organization Divine n you’re a bit of a mini celebrity on campus with the
Black you know students there and it’s kind of like oh wow that’s that’s a sigma you go by your name and then what the organization you’re part of that that’s Marcus the sigma or that’s the the sigma and it was kind of cool because people were like oh look at you
Different like okay cool you’re in this you’re that almost like a increase in your status it was it was cool with that and we had social functions and wore our jackets with the letters and stuff like that wearing t-shirts with the letters and being recognized by others like okay
This is somebody or so I thought you know we had our functions when we you know through parties at the clubs went to that drank I drank you know did you notice any change in your care character when you crossed I did I did now I was
Still a nice person for the most part but when it came to the you know going to the parties I I enjoyed going to the parties I enjoyed the social functions and when we had those parties in the beginning I always was getting drunk there you know because it was just like
A I made I remember what I went through online now I’m enjoying the the fruits of it the the benefits you know the stress free of it you know and but also you know there was one it was probably it was that November Thanksgiving weekend um I didn’t go home for
Thanksgiving that that weekend I stayed on campus and I remember I went me and my one of my line Brothers uh we went to our sister’s home which is a Zetas sigas and Zetas are are constitutionally bound and I remember just we had a bottle of
Jin and I drank like four big cups the cups were like this big and I drank four of those I was just stupid and I passed out I remember the first time when I threw up and you know that was it and next thing I knew the morning after I
Was on my stomach with newspaper off the floor and my shirt off there like well Marcus you passed out I was like really they’re like we were scared you know and later on I realized that I had alcohol poisoning and I could have died that
Night I could have died that night and I was like whoa and that right there was a turning point for me we probably get into that after you know I you know re denounced but that was a critical point for me because I realized I was like you
Know what me drinking like that being in in you know wanting to just be like yeah I’m this I’m a sigma and this and that just drinking I could have lost my life right there and I would have gone to hell you know because I wasn’t you know
Living right before the Lord so that right there was a the beginning of me rededicating my life to the Lord after that yeah that’s I was going to ask how was your spiritual relationship even when you came into college and you were pledging like how was that dynamic
Between you and God so I grew up uh in a Baptist Church like I said when I was 9 years old you know I didn’t know a whole lot I just knew that you know I didn’t want to go to hell and you know I love
Jesus but the church I was going to at the time there just wasn’t a whole lot geared to the young people in terms of uh developing spiritually so I had a very casual relationship with the Lord and for the most part you know even through high school I was you know
Relatively calm and good and and you know I prayed to the Lord but it wasn’t as as deep as it should have been and when I went to college I was like you know what I’m finally out of my out of my my mom’s house I just want to live it
Up and I didn’t really think too much and I did go to church a few times but I didn’t it was my spiritual life was secondary back then you know I was just like you know I’m in a new city I’m in college I’m on my own and God was on the
Back burner but God never left me he still uh loved me he still cared for me and he he loved me so much that he let me just do go through what I went through you know and it took a night for me of me almost dying to realize like oh
It could have all ended God still has a plan for me after that shortly after that you know I was so freshman at that time had to park and and designated parking which was far from the dorm so at late at night I’d had to walk you
Know about a mile or two park my car and walk back to my dorm and one of those nights I was just like Lord you know I just start talking to the Lord like Lord I really want to get closer to you again I really want to go higher in the way
I’ve never been and this went on for about a good month and before I knew it my heart was changing you know I didn’t want to go to the parties anymore I didn’t want to drink anymore it was to the point where the S were like whoa you
You changed you know what’s going on what’s going on I was like you know we dedicate my life to the Lord and I was more on fire then and I was boldly like yeah you know I’m not doing this anymore I’m not doing that now at that time that
Would have been a good time for me to renounce and denounce but there was no YouTube back then there was no one really doing it on a scale like we have now people are you know coming out of these organizations left and right so I didn’t have a model I
Didn’t have anyone to be like hey this is how you you leave this now because that would have been a perfect time and I was always told you know when you do this organization it’s for life so so I I resigned myself to I was like okay
This is for life but I’m not gonna participate in some of the things that I’ve done before so you were kind of like were you in your mind were you like inactive you’re like I’m just going to go inactive so I was still on campus at
That time now of course I went to some of the events that were not party or Club related but you know I was still active from that perspective I still went to the chapter meetings now when I left campus in in 2002 moved back to Miami Florida I wasn’t active uh I
Wasn’t Financial at all and uh it just didn’t take it it it didn’t have that priority in my life anymore I was like you know let me just focus on you know what God has for me to do and was not at all active however I still had perfect y
Word on occasion you know because again it’s for life you’re once a sigma always a sigma and people in other organizations say the same thing as well but I was not Financial you know I just went I’m like okay I’m a sigma but I’m saved I love the Lord and that was that
But yes I had been inactive for up until I denounced in um August of 2021 in 2002 and you didn’t denounce and renounce until when you said 2021 August of 2021 so here’s how that happened yeah I know like big big cap so I was uh going
To Best Buy here in Atlanta and uh I was walking after I left the store I was walking to my car and there was an evangelist a Messianic Jewish evangelist and he started you know witnessing to me I said I’m already saved and whatnot and
He told me he said he asked me he said well are you in any uh secret societies I was like no I said but randomly asked that yes yes yes well this is a few conversations afterwards but initially he was like you know are you saved and I was like yeah but fast
Forwarding into a conversation we had afterwards he asked me said are you in a secret society I said no but I’m in fraternity see at the time fraternities we don’t we didn’t know them as secret societies we just knew them as fraternities or sororities and he’s said well Marcus you
Know a fraternity is a secret society I was like what you know and he’s like yeah and your fraternity has a God uh Horus and but when he said that to me I was blown away I was like what and so I went on on on you know Google it’s like
Hey you know false gods you know five b fraternity and then YouTube videos were were coming up suggesting it and one of them was like why denounce F bet sigal I was like what people actually doing this thing like leaving so I watched one of
Them and I watched another one from a an exalpha and I was like Wow Wow and and some of these ones who left the organizations were uh much later than me like 2015 2017 so they remember clearly some of the things that they went through and I was like yeah sounds about
Right you know and on August uh in August of 2021 uh one of them they gave a template for a denouncement prayer so I took a screenshot of it and I said that prayer and I renounced it before the Lord on August of 2021 wow okay and
So how did how did you did you publicly denounce not immediately okay I did not want to do that really because I didn’t want to go out there I’m not one who likes to be out there or put myself out there I like to be kind of in the
Background you know just move quietly move in silence but the Lord was like know you need to you did this publicly when you crossed you need to leave publicly I was like oh my gosh and and I had to do a video I said oh man Lord Lord you know I
I don’t know I don’t know but just like Jeremiah said it was like a fire shut up in my bones the Lord would not leave me alone alone until I made this video and I couldn’t ignore it it was one of those things where you know sometimes if God
Tells someone do something they don’t do it fine you’re all right but I couldn’t like I was anxious like I had to do this and I was like all right Lord I’m gonna do this so I went on a three-day water fast before I did my denouncement video
Because I was like Lord I need help I need I need the boldness to do this because by Nature I’m I could be rather shy and you know kind of just off to side a little bit so I was like Lord I I need I need some extra to do this you
Know and I knew that there was going to be a lot of backlash with me doing that video so I was like all right Lord and by the time fast forward when I got off that fast I had a boldness and I and I did my denouncement video I did it the
Lord was faithful uh he he gave me the strength the confidence to do it and I did it and uh immediately afterwards some of the comments on my YouTube video they were some were encouraging but a good amount of them we saw I saw the the some pretty bad comments some pretty
Evil demonic things being thrown at me from sigmas mainly you know they’re upset which you know I expected because uh when you’re attacking someone’s Idol that’s what’s going to happen you know and they didn’t realize that there’s a spirit that’s part of that organization and I want to just say this as well
People in these organizations still Sigma or whatever they’re not evil the spirit behind the organization is what’s Evil all right I just want to make that clear people still in these organizations are not evil people what’s behind the organization is what’s evil how was the reaction from like your
Family friends former Line brothers chapter brothers did they say anything about you family and friends they’re like okay cool not a problem because they weren’t really big on that anyways some of my L Brothers didn’t really talk and here’s another thing too I didn’t really talk
To a lot of my former L Brothers at all even after I left school uh of course we’re friends on social media you know and this and that we may like certain posts or whatnot but there was no real actual communication on a consistent
Basis so I I did tell my former Dean you know and he was like okay cool I respect that you know and uh that was it but I don’t know how they really feel you know they may respect it they may not but I didn’t do that to put myself out there
To condemn anyone but just to put out there what the Lord wanted me to put out there about you know leaving the organization hopefully it’ll Pierce their hearts but here’s the thing too A lot of people stay in things because of pressure because they’re afraid of the backlash they’re afraid of what they
Might lose because the truth of the matter is a lot of these organizations you know some people after they graduate they get promised jobs and people in those organizations may look out for them and help them and for the Divine n organizations at large uh they help one
Another even if they’re not part of the same organization so for a lot of them they feel like there’s a lot to lose if they leave there’s a lot of backlash it’s like oh you left us why why’d you leave us you know so a lot of people
Stay in for that and a lot of people also stay in because they’re probably lonely they don’t have any siblings and they want to feel like they’re connected to something but the truth of the matter is is that for those who are believers in Christ the family of God should be
All that we need see organizations there’s an era of exclusivity with them you have to apply you have to join but the Bible says that you know to all who would receive him and believe in name he gave the right to be sons of God see there’s no exclusivity with God God is
Like hey all are welcome if you accept me you’re part of my family but we put a higher premium we take for granted that and and and put a higher premium on joining exclusive organizations that you have to apply for have be chosen you know and that right there could be a a
Seed of pride in a lot of people like I made it not everyone was chosen but I made it there’s a lot of heart cheing people need to do it’s like okay why am I in this why am I really in this if I profess Christ as Lord and savior oh
That’s good so what Revelations did the Lord give you regarding Sigma see the whole thing with Greek organizations is that it’s it’s Greek mythology it’s not it’s it’s promoting false god but what those really are there’s no true God but one but what it really is is the Fallen Angels who
Aren’t really Gods at all but it’s it’s demonic in nature and so Revelation 2 verse2 it says and to the angel of the church in pergamos right these things says he which has a sharp sword with two edges I Know Thy works and where thou dwellest even where Satan’s seed is now
Pergamum was an ancient Greek city uh that was very idolatrous and and that’s that place where Satan’s Throne is actually the Temple of Zeus Zeus is known as the chief of the Greek gods and Jesus was saying here hey this is the seat where Satan sits enthroned so all these Greek
Organizations have a false god behind them okay and for example so three three of these organizations actually have the false god on their crests the Deltas manura on the top of the crest the akas have Atlas holding the Earth on his shoulder and the iotas have the Centaur
On their Crest as well right there for everyone to see those those three organizations have the false gods on there so here’s the thing again anything not of God and and again another Bible verse Isaiah 428 I am the Lord that is my name my glory I will not give to
Another nor my praise to carved Idols now when we have these paddles in the Greek organizations they’re carved with what the Greek letter organizations right and they have the crest on them that’s an idol whether we people want to believe it or not because we hang them
Up on our walls they’re hung up in our cars or wherever the Lord says I am the Lord that’s my I will not give my glory to another we’re giving glory to these organizations notice in a lot of these organizations uh they do community service but it’s not in the name of the
Lord it’s in the name of that organization who gets the glory that organization gets the glory or a scholarship scholarships are good you know they you know they help a lot of people out but who gets the glory for those scholarships that organization God gets no glory also Exodus 23 you shall
Have no other gods before me now a lot of people in these organizations want to say oh I serve the Lord I’m not you know I don’t I don’t I don’t serve another God well whether you believe it or not you you took Covenant with that whether
You say some of the things that pledges allegiance to you were part of it there’s no technicality in the spirit realm if you’re part of something you’re part of it you see Satan is not a a be like a technicality well he didn’t say this so you’re not a part no you’re in
This because you said this you’re me you belong to me and some people don’t want to hear that but it’s true that’s the reality where they want to believe it or not they get very upset when you say that to them but that’s why God is so
Gracious he’s saying hey this is what’s going on here’s a way out come out of it but that spirit is keeping them enslaved unbeknownst to them because why do people get so upset when you point these things out to them get up in arms that’s their Idol my Lord that’s good that’s
Good and so what what other Revelations has the Lord provided regarding Greek organization since you’ve denounced not too long after I denounced I started having dreams uh the first dream was Vivid I dreamed that some some of the sigmas from my chapter were trying to throw me in a closet but you
Know that was symbolic of like shut up shut up and it wasn’t them per se it was the spirits of that organ a like shut up shut up you know and then I other times I dream about some of the other Greek organizations and and it was like in
Demonic form though they’re angry they’re just I was like what in the world you know and I was like Wow but now when I was still in this organization I did not see that but once you come out then you see it for what it really is because the blinders come off
When you denounce then you see clearly and here’s the thing a lot of people in these organizations they’re still in deception because they’re in it you don’t see see the deception until you’re out of it so God you know revealed to me like yeah this really is not of me it’s
Not of me it’s praising something else it’s praising a demonic entity instead of me come out this is not of me I’m showing you Grace I love you that’s why I’m telling you this is wrong God doesn’t tell us things to make us feel good all the time or coddle us it’s
Going to pierce our hearts it’s going to challenge us it’s going to make us uncomfortable but it’s for our good a lot of medicines we take don’t taste good but we need it so we could get the bad stuff out of us to clear an infection clear a disease or something
It doesn’t taste good but it’s what’s needed oh that’s good that’s good Marcus my Lord what yeah go ahead you got something else one more verse Deuteronomy 32:21 they have made me jealous with what is not God they have provoked me to anger with their Idols so
I will make them jealous with those who are not a people I will provoke them to anger with a foolish Nation again Deuteronomy 3216 the previous verse they provoked him to jealousy with strange Gods by denying him the honor and loyalty that is rightfully and uniquely his and with
Repulsive acts they provoked him to anger again nothing new under these Under the Sun these Spirits Behind these organizations have been around since beginning you know they just change they masquerade they change faces they put on letters see the Bible says also Satan transforms himself into an angel of
Light the devil’s also going to be the devil’s going to present himself as oh this is good it’s Noble Love Is Love that’s another conversation for another time he’s always going to be good appear good and but he’s he’s he masquerades as something good his organizations he’s
Not going to show up with with pitchforks or or or horns or anything like that no he puts the letters on hey we believe in this we believe in that and we’re going to do good for the community all while masquerading and hiding behind letters oh that’s good
That’s good that’s good and true that’s good and true and I think I think that I think that that is what is making people stay bound is because the fact that we think that evil is going to scream evil right we think that if this is a demonic
Organization we’re going to see Satan somewhere in organization or you know we’re going to see something like that but they don’t notice that he is literally hiding he’s hiding behind the illusion of something that is good but it’s really not it’s not and a lot of these organizations in the uh some of
The ritual processes talk about being light the Bible says that Jesus is Jesus himself said I’m the light of the world here’s the thing all these organizations they’re actually the children or offspring of Freemasonry Freemasonry the illumination illuminated ones you see now Luke 11:35 Jesus says be careful therefore that the
Light that is in you is not Darkness so if your whole body is illuminated with no dark part it will be entirely bright with light as when when the lamp gives you light with in his bright ways so even Jesus right here is saying hey be careful that the light that you think
You have in you is not actually darkness and what are these some of these organizations are saying we’re the light Alpha F Alpha and part of their uh rituals they say hey alpha alpha Alphas light of the world we’re the light of the world first of all Transcendence of
All Transcendent above all whatnot Servants of all it it’s trying to point themselves as light well it’s not the light of the Lord if it’s not the light of the lord it’s some false light it’s a light that’s appearing as light but it’s really Darkness you see and that darkness is what’s deceiving
People they can’t see the light clearly because they’re deceived but they think they have a light inside of them that’s what that’s the same thing with a lot of these uh pastors and ministers who are in these organizations they’re pastoring churches there there there’s Darkness inside of them not necessarily by
Behavior but because they’re aligned to a false god they’ve taken Covenant some of them even wear their letters in church while preaching and and you’re preaching the word of God so guess what the allegiance is split they’re saying they love the Lord in one breath but
You’re you’re tied to a false god in the other one one of the Fallen sons of God Fallen Angels it’s almost like an oxymoron in a way but that’s how much this has pervaded the black church so much it’s seen as normal and it’s not normal to
God that’s why he’s saying hey enough is enough the Bible says you know the Lord’s coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle and this is a big Wrinkle in the body of Christ in the black church in particular but in the body of Christ as a whole it’s a big
