Was here, they kind of took me under their wing. When I got here as well, mentoring me, kind of showing me the ropes around. So naturally it just kind of felt right to join, PHI BETA SIGMA’S MOTTO IS CULTURE FOR SERVICE, SERVICE FOR HUMANITY. CHAPTER PRESIDENT
J.T. YOUNG SAYS THEY DO PLENTY OF THIS IN THE COMMUNITY. we like going to we have a national program called adopt-a-school. So we currently go to Indian Spring slash Carver, which I think is just Carver now, and we go and volunteer there
On Fridays. So that’s a big thing we do. We love going to Habitat for Humanity THEY ALSO WORK WITH HUMANE SOCIETY OF CENTRAL TEXAS. YOUNG IS A FIRST GEN COLLEGE STUDENT AT BAYLOR. HE SAYS BEING A PART OF PHI BETA SIGMA BONDS HIM TO A SPECIAL BROTHERHOOD.
Black fraterniti are very important, especially when you’re in a predominately white institution like this, because a lot of people come and they look araround, th don’t see many people that look like them. So that type of unity, especially at a school where there’s not a lot of
People like you, it’s very important to have. And while we’re all different organizations, we’re all still black students at a PWI. So that unity is very important to keep. THE NU ZETA CHAPTER’S GOAL AT BAYLOR UNIVERSITY IS TO CONTINUE THEIR LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE.
